This drama is successful in making me go back and forth between "he loves her more", "no, she loves him more", "no, no, he loves her more", "no, no, no..." :yayaya:

I didn't think of it at all. I just know that they love each other, A LOT. :SquirtleWonderfull:

@abs-oluteM Everyone loved this scene when the pre-release came out yesterday. It cheered me up and put a smile on my face too. It helps taking my stressful mind off from work momentarily to be honest.

Hi @Mouse!! Long time no see! Happy to see you here and please come in often to tell us how you feel about the show. You're so spot on with some of the details you've pointed out above. Agree about Appa and Hae In. I laughed too when Appa says he could understand the bugging, but not the divorce, coupled by Haraboji's quick to yell back! I died.

I also love the bit Appa and the spies sat together trying to decipher Hyun Woo's actions. Love that both father & daughter agreed why Hyun Woo has to pitifully eat and run alone. Like you said, Appa, Hae In and Haraboji do trust Hyun Woo. Even Soo Cheol knows Hyun Woo is reliable, but Soo Cheol and Omma lack respect for him. Looking forward to these two being put in their place and grow some respect for him and his family in the countryside.

  2. Chun Woo Hee Is A Mysterious Woman Who Suddenly Appears Before Jang Ki Yong And His Supernatural Family In New Drama

    Although-I-Am-Not-a-Hero.jpeg

JTBC’s upcoming fantasy romance drama “Although I Am Not a Hero” (literal title) has unveiled its first poster!

Warning: contains mentions of mental disorders and eating disorders.

“Although I Am Not a Hero” tells the story of a man from a supernatural family, who lost their extraordinary powers after suffering from very realistic issues, and the peculiar woman he meets by fate. The drama is directed by Cho Hyun Tak of “SKY Castle” and penned by writer Joo Hwa Mi of “Marriage, Not Dating.” Writer Kang Eun Kyung of “Dr. Romantic” also participated in the drama.

Jang Ki Yong takes on the role of Bok Gwi Joo. Bok Gwi Joo has a supernatural ability that enables him to return to times in the past, but he loses his power due to depression. Chun Woo Hee will play the role of Do Da Hae, a mysterious woman who appears in front of Bok Gwi Joo’s family.

The newly released poster shows the mysterious Do Da Hae taking center stage, standing before Bok Gwi Joo’s family. The Bok family members remain concealed behind curtains, evoking a sense of intrigue regarding the secrets they harbor and the true nature of their extraordinary abilities.

Bok Gwi Joo’s somber face and the haunting silhouette cast by his turmoil embody the weight of his depression.

Bok Man Heum (Go Doo Shim)’s resolute figure emanates strength and resilience, symbolizing her as the backbone of the Bok household. Bok Man Heum loses her psychic ability to see the future in her dreams due to insomnia.

Bok Dong Hee (Claudia Kim), Bok Gwi Joo’s sister who can no longer utilize her ability to fly due to bulimia, stands with a mischievous grin, hinting at the unpredictability of her character.

Bok Yi Na (Park So Yi), Bok Gwi Joo’s lovely daughter, radiates an enigmatic calmness with her poker face, her lack of shadow in the poster adding to the intrigue surrounding her yet-to-be-revealed superpower.

Lastly, Eom Soon Ku (Oh Man Seok) stands out as the nurturing father figure, diligently looking after the family despite being the only person in the Bok family without any supernatural ability.

  3. Homework completed. And yay, felt like the first Disney+ drama in a while that doesn't end with a potential season 2! We get a proper ending.

OK, first off, In Ha became unforgivable once he touches Tae Oh's mother. As we all can agree, the show didn't do a fanstastic job in characterisation resulting in us unable to feel or relate with any of them. With how it played out in the end, the show wants us to pity In Ha, but I don't want to. He really doesn't need to go this far to hurt Tae Oh.

I'm actually a bit confused with what the charges were for Jang Geum Suk (Chairman's wife) and the butler. Was she framed or it's truly a crime and the butler commit? Please let me know what I've missed. I admit somewhere in between, I was not paying 100% attention.

With Tae Oh's ability, he definitely could have taken over Kang Oh Group. However, he chose to protect Kang Oh for the Chairman and did not think of owning it himself. I feel a sense of dissatisfaction in this because he was the one who fed me the idea of him wanting to climb to the top, and surely "the top" doesn't mean just becoming the Chairman's right hand man, or worse, because I used to see him as the Chairman's dog. Even though he's more like a King's adviser.

I honestly didn't think Chairman Kang would willingly give it to him because he's always been a dictator. It felt quite forceful to suddenly have him relinquish his power over to Tae Oh. That said, he's earned Tae Oh's respect and loyalty for saving Tae Oh. His health is deteriorating and the only person that could fulfill his vision and dream was Tae Oh.

Another forceful twist is Kang Seung Ju—another result of poor characterisation—making the sudden change to his behaviour towards the battle for the throne unconvincing. On a plus side, it was nice for once, Lee Je Hoon isn't playing that ultimate jerk.

The only open ending here is the love line between Tae Oh and Hye Won. And I am TOTALLY fine not knowing. In all honesty, Hye Won felt like a useless character in the grand scheme of things. She has little to no contribution to the plot in the last 4 episodes.

Up till the end, I was still hoping to find out what exactly Tae Oh wanted for himself. Sigh. Wish the story could have been better. I really want to like Tae Oh, especially because Lee Jae Wook looks so good in that great hairstyle and suit.

  4. @abs-oluteM Jeon Jong Seo's real bf made a cameo as PD in finale episode! Sharp eyes fans pointed it out. Also cameo were Kim Bum, Lee Soo Hyuk and Ryu Kyung Soo.

Kim Bum played someone who fell in love with Chae Won (second FL) since he saw her at her wedding. He didn't want to miss the chance again so he actively pursue her. Lee Soo Hyuk is Ah Jung's groom in a drama she's filming. Don't know what's Ryu Kyung Soo playing.

  5. @abs-oluteM This is definitely an exaggerated depiction (or not, not a chaebol here 😞). We haven't been given full insights as to what really happened. Whilst the lot celebrated the birthday, Grace was up to something else and we see cameras turned off, and people were moving things in boxes. They stole the family's valuable items. Paintings on the walls were all gone. Eun Sung robbed them. The news also reported investigation is going on they can't leave the country, so I also suspect their personal funds are currently frozen. If not, Hyun Woo might have asked them not to touch it because once they touch it, they can be found by all the vultures who wants a piece of them.

  6.

Again, I really love the use of Vincenzo's BGM when Song Joong Ki came out of the elevator. 😆 I really don't want to say it but Vincenzo (SJK) is a scene stealer, stealing the thunder from Kim Soo Hyun. LOL! For a moment my heart strayed towards Vincenzo and by SJK's deep voice. Mianhe, Oppa Soo Hyun. Hahaha!

  7. Last episode was a cry fest. This episode was a mixture of laughs and tears. I laughed so much at Hyun Woo and Yang Gi cower in fear of our infamous Vincenzo Cassano. I didn't realise one of Queen of Tears' PD was Vincenzo's PD, allowing a delightful reprisal of our beloved character. Loved the return of Vincenzo's BGM. Song Joong Ki's cameo is considered long, yet didn't come across as an unnecessary filler. Hiring someone like Vincenzo aligns well with Hae In's style. 😆 It was a lovely reunion between Joong Ki and Ji Won, too. I had good fun with this Vincenzo cameo. Not only that, Netizens pointed out the divorce is a realistic portrayal of KEnt's divorce announcement. @ssteph Song Joong Ki's deep voice is so ❤️.

I’m pleased that the proposal occurred in the past, especially since some Netizens speculated that this scene might be from the future. I didn't think the couple needed another proposal scene such as this. Hyun Woo’s innocence and gullibility during that time are quite amusing, which is why Hae In still trust him. In the epilogue, it's good to know she regained her desire to live is rooted in love rather than hatred.

Aunt Beom Ja’s sobbing like a child had me in tears, but her emotions were relatable. Always the favored one, never having faced physical punishment, she had been her daddy’s precious little princess. However, Moh Seul Hee’s presence has shaken her position within the family. Regardless of age, the wounded heart still aches all the same.

Eun Sung’s memories were a surprise, as I didn't believe he harbours genuine feelings for Hae In. I dislike this development, because that means the villain can become weak, or worse, at risk of being whitewashed later. Moh Seul Hee seems to disapprove of this as well, seeing she doesn't allow Eun Sung to sit beside Hae In at the birthday banquet.

I like how this show breaks away from the typical K-drama structure, adding an element of unpredictability and anticipation. With the whole family in Yongdori, I anticipate chaotic and comedic scenes ahead—closer to Park Ji Eun's style in previous dramas. However, I hope it doesn’t become overly ridiculous, as I appreciate the current pacing. I appreciate the rom-com, but if we could see Hyun Woo and Hae In collaborate using Eun Sung’s tactics to reclaim the Queens would be a bonus. It’s also a golden opportunity to change Omma’s perception of Hyun Woo. While I didn’t want the divorce to happen, now that it has, Hyun Woo has no obligation to help the family. Yet, he remains, showing Omma his genuine and sincere side.

Felt like this show made so much references to the actors' past dramas, when I see the camper van, I even thought whether that's paying homage to It's Okay Not to Be Okay 😅

Lastly, I'm stoked with the rating! 16.143% at episode 8. Genuinely wishing the show can withhold this interesting pacing until the very end 🙏🏻! If it keeps on increasing by ~2% every even episode, we could be looking at 22–24% :pandaangel:

  8. The scene where Hae In's dad and the spies reporting on Hyun Woo was probably meant to be comedic, but I find it very informative for Hae In and dad to get to know him better. Though, I was crying instead, feeling sorry for Hyun Woo. I'm glad Hae In is doing all the background checks on him, because I want her to "link" up all the information Hyun Woo previously told her about himself, that he's been crying a lot. I clocked that the PA reported to her, he goes to car wash a lot, and we know that is another place Hyun Woo goes to hide himself and cry... 😭

My other heart-wrenching moment was when Hae In and Hyun Woo bumped into one another and Hae In tells Hyun Woo she'll hate him till she dies. Next we know, she has a memory lapse and she only remembers her love for Hyun Woo. 😭

I really like the little things Hyun Woo does for Hae In and not taking any credit or showing off. It's usually those quiet, unknown little gesture that makes it more touching, and only us audiences get the privilege to know about...

What are we to do with these two...? I almost wish the next episode starts with Hyun Woo and Hae In sleeping in the same bed hugging each other. LOL. But I'm sure this is just a temporary memory loss, and she'll be back to herself again. I'm looking forward to next episode because it seems like Hae In is checking out the places Hyun Woo visits and trying to figure him out. In the process, they were in the same restaurant and sitting back to back without Hyun Woo knowing. The text preview mentioned Hae In will learn about Hyun Woo's heart.

Soo Cheol may be dimwitted, but I like learning that he has some positive traits, too. It's sweet that he wants to be the father that show his son how to ride a bike, etc.

  9. I've dropped this drama. This isn't the kind of drama I want from Kim Nam Joo, and I cannot handle episode after episode of crying.

Kwon Sun Yool (Cha Eun Woo) is the son of the man Eun Soo Hyun (Kim Nam Joo) had killed. And the woman that was captured on camera with Eun Ho is indeed Yuri (Im Se Mi). It happened when Soo Hyun was pushing Eun Ho away, and Eun Ho was drinking his sorrow confessing his pain to Yuri.

It was not really that hard to guess who the woman is to be honest. Casting her means she has to play someone impactful to the main leads, and that's exactly it.

  10. There were a lot of flaws or loopholes in this week's episodes. For example, how is it that anybody can enter the Chairman's office at any time of the day whenever they want? Where's the security? Knowing In Ha is capable of murder, as smart as the Chairman, he doesn't even think to put some bodyguards around him?

Also, I don't even get why Tae Oh would look so shocked that In Ha was about to end his own father's life. LOL! Dude, he killed his own brother and a woman, and wanted you dead too!
