  1. A theory - that Hae In is poisoned instead of having a tumour. I think so. When I first started watching kdramas a few years ago, I was surprised that modern Korea is so young! The korean war was actually relatively recent in 1950 and it was only in the 1960s that SK started to modernise although still with authoritarian leadership. I still remember the days when we in Singapore bought Samsung and Hyundai because they were the cheapest appliances and cars. And I read articles on how Samsung consciously moved from price to design over time. SK's growth has been amazing in just 60 years. And so now, never say that dramas don't teach you anything 🤣.
  2. If Eun Song was courting Hae In, how can he be Grandpa's son? That would be incest.
  3. That’s really well written @gilaswan. I’ve only watched a few of her dramas, but it seems this writer adds a little fantasy/out of the world scenarios in her stories. So I thought hey, Hae In’s lifeline extending is perhaps a part of the magical element, similar to the temporary lapses in memory/awareness of her surroundings. But no, it was drawn in by Hyun Woo 😭😂. I’ve a feeling this won’t be a straightforward happy ending. Probably the love from afar type like CLOY and MLFAS. What do you think?
  4. “Here’s a present for you” ”Unwrap me!”
  5. Glorius sighting at the 2024 MLB World Tour Series. Since the wedding, most of the snaps were captured by the public at restaurants etc. I think this is the first time they are out together "officially".
  6. So, my friend is watching this too and she likes it. She thinks Kim Soo Hyun is cute too. So I asked her, how about if compared to Hyun Bin? She says:
  7. My journey just 10 min ago on this thread: 1. Yay it's a thriller/crime drama! Synopsis looks good. 2. Rats, that first teaser looks like it's focusing on the relationship of the 3 leads. 3. Ooh, trailers look exciting. 4. S***, Abs says FL is not too bright.......... 5. But Peperomia says there is suspense! I shall try this weekend 😆
  8. I see so many of you raving about how good looking Kim Soo Hyun is. But I don't see it 😭😅 I think Park Sung Hoon's character is very interesting, because we don't really understand his underlying motive yet. In fact, at times, I wish Hae In would choose him 😂 Could he be working with Grandpa's mistress?
  9. I watched half an episode. Then I stopped. Movie would have been fine. But 10 episodes of people talking to a nugget head or trying to find a way to turn the nugget back into human!!! I fear for my brain. And that looked more like sweet and sour pork then chicken nugget!
  10. Er no. I plan skip it since you said there was just a lot of crying 😅
  11. Think this is Netflix’s way of spreading their risk. They do multiple short seasons. Then do S2 for those with good response. This means long wait right? Wonder if there’s even a script yet.
  12. Thanks @mademoiselle I will try ep 3 and 4. At least it sounds more interesting than Wedding Impossible - I stopped after half of last night’s episode.
  13. Yeah @mademoiselle please review ep 3 and 4. I have nothing to watch 😂
  14. If the drama continues as it has in ep2, it's looking good. Everyone seems to have a hidden agenda/secret so there is a little suspense all around. Park Sung Hoon's appearance makes things even more lively. Agreed that Hyun Woo is not likeable for now. Seems heartless that he was happy that his wife, a woman he used to love, was suddenly dying in 3 months. I'm not sure a decent person can do that, no matter how miserable he was. Plus, his misery is a little self-made - it looks like he was a pushover in the 3 years of marriage. Did he attempt to discuss his difficulties with Hae In? There were moments between the 2 of them where it felt they could have been a power-couple if only they worked together. I hope the show is not going to go the usual route of the wife finding out that he was faking (initially) to create the angst later. This is a good observation. I realised that I pitied the men, but not when the women were in the kitchen because that was the "norm". I shall try to be more aware of my own bias from now onwards lol! Do you think Hae In is not the mother's natural daughter? Could she be adopted or father's illegitimate child? At this time, he despises her haha. But I think he is going to find that he does still love her if they can get along better. It's clear she still loves him from ep 1.
  15. I think the ending was not very memorable, because I can't remember it anymore hahaha.
  16. Ep1 Kim Ji Won is real frosty! While Kim Soo Hyun is a little “nuah” (soft/too accommodating) as the long suffering husband. He wants a divorce but knows that he will be destroyed by the family if he leaves so he hesitates. The wife obviously still loves him. They married for love so I wonder what happened that the relationship deteriorated to this state. Maybe the wife has a plan but can’t openly stand up for him and he mistook that. The best scene is the one with Oh Jung Se, the therapist! So funny. I hope his is a recurring cameo. Kim Ji Won’s clothes are nice! So is the interior decor. One thing that bothers a little is they used the exact location of Binjin’s wedding and the same flower decor (though not as abundant) and the same display of photos for the OTP’s wedding. As BJ’s wedding was private, this seems an intrusion. Hopefully the writer at least sought agreement from Binjin.
  17. Hmmm, I think I will decide whether to watch after you review ep 3-4 😅
  18. I'm at 3.5, and watching with a lot of FFWD. They need to do something about Ji Han and Do Han's hair! I swear, only korean actors go around with their fringe down like that or parted in the middle with a little wave/curl Anyway, MSM, though quite cute, lacks a bit of gravitas for the role. Somehow he's not very convincing as a suave and charming young man. The part where he told Ah Jung he will seduce her so she will fall for him - I looked at him like Ah Jung looked at him - highly sceptical. Not with that hair (with a little sideburn omg), I thought 😆. It was a bit cringy to me, because he seemed like a cocky little boy, talking big. Then booking the whole business class section etc, where does he get the money? He has a lowly job, grandfather doesn't like him but gives him a lot of money? Mother left him inheritance? Now, I'm just waiting for the day he is appointed heir of the family business, and then surely they must comb his hair up then, right?! Actually I don't get this plot line at all. Shouldn't he be happy that grandfather has accepted the marriage and will still appoint Do Han to manage the company? Why is he trying to break them up? (Apart from being subconsciously in love with Ah Jung). Chae Won seems like a decent girl. Considering they are showing her story, who is she expected to end up with?
  19. Haha, yes I did. Only 6 episodes so was a easy watch. Not bad but not exceptional. He doesn't look so good there lol.
  20. I fast forwarded most of the last episode 😆 Sadly, Su Min's revenge plan was remarkably simplistic and disappointing. But at the end of the day, she was never portrayed as intelligent, just a schemer who had some small success when no one was aware of her intentions. I thought the same, but also wondered how effective that could be. This drama has a fantasy element, so everything that cannot be explained, we just say, "it's fantasy" 😂 Hahaha, but now we know the reason for her role. It's to take Jin Hyuk's fate! @gilaswan In the webtoon, how was Jin Hyuk saved? In summary, this drama was better than expected. I enjoyed most of it. 8/10 for entertainment value 8/10 for the supporting actors 6/10 for intricasies of the plot 6/10 for the main leads
  21. @mademoiselle You were right! It was a set up 😂 Ep 15 was quite good, I thought. In fact, it now seems a more interesting ending than the webtoon. I like that they left Su Min till the end to plot her revenge on Ji Won. My takeaways from this episode: 1. All the scenes with Su Min are super interesting. That scene with Ji Hyuk at the bar, at least the writer didn't dumb her down. Her questions and Ji Hyuk's answers were unexpected. I also thought Na In Woo had one of his better scenes here. He was "plotting" instead of just showing his morose expression. 2. Park Min Young is better as a villianess than a romance lead hahaha. At least I can then dislike her legitimately lol. Her scene with Su Min at the lift was great! The actress playing Su Min is also wonderful conveying her uncertainty/"vulnerability" - very subtle. Ep 20
  22. Can't seem to find the story anymore. The link just brings you back to the main synopsis. You try? https://www.novelupdates.com/series/love-like-the-galaxy/ I think you mentioned that in the novel, the 3 male leads were quite equal. So I wondered about that. I quite like YSJ in the drama.
