That seems to be reading too much into things just to make yourself happy 😅 I’m fully expecting a LDR hahaha. I think I may be quite upset if it was a full fledge HER lol. Aunty BoemJa and her Leslie Cheung are quite cute! I was waiting for her to go back to the house and discover that he gave a whole basket of mulberries to the family haha.

It’s got to be Lee Moo Saeng right? Otherwise why would he be one of the leads? It’s a bit like Ha Seok Jin’s character in Blind. Me too. But I think it’s more that I’m not really enjoying HHJ’s portrayal here. She’s been stern and steely, pretty much expressionless for 2 episodes. Hoping I like her better later. I’m not sure they get royalties. For Squid Game, the director who also wrote the script said that they don’t get anything more than the initial agreed amount from Netflix despite it being such a big hit. Maybe if the drama was successful, they can negotiate for higher fees or profit sharing for the sequel. If this is growing the meat from the animal cell, without growing the whole animal, it doesn’t seem so offensive. Unless of course the meat is “alive”. Maybe we should all become vegetarians…

@UnniSara Yes, agree that the will was not a very important factor for him. He would have happily taken the divorce without the money just to get free. But the fact that he was susceptible to his friend's suggestion and even tried to get into the will, AFTER he learnt of her terminal illness, well, that speaks for the kind of person he was at that moment.

I've been looking forward to this and will start this weekend. For now, I am finishing 7 SEASONS of Billions which is like 84 episodes 😨. I like all of this writer's dramas. But wondering how much they are paid per drama since it looks like one has to sustain 2 years of living expenses + savings etc ... Blood Free | Jibaejong (Disney+ / 2024) Grid (Disney+ / 2022) Stranger 2 | Bimilui Soop 2 (tvN / 2020) Life (JTBC / 2018) Stranger | Bimilui Soop (tvN / 2017) Singapore had a cultured meat facility which is now in limbo. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/cultivated-meat-producer-eat-just-pauses-operations-in-singapore#:~:text=Eat Just made international headlines,as 1880 in early 2021. According to the article: "Cultivated meat refers to meat products that are made from growing animal cells in a bioreactor – similar to the vats used in brewing beer – instead of slaughtering actual chickens."

The way I read this is Hyun Woo's first thought when Hae-In said she had 3 months to live was - Yippee. I don't need to divorce the hard way and suffer all the consequences the family could impose, when I get my freedom when she dies! And that's why his mum was angry with him for thinking that way. That said, I think the drama has been very successful in developing their relationship from that extreme. In addition to that scene, he was also plotting to get himself into Hae In's will. So Hyun Woo's character was really quite despicable at the beginning, no matter how much we can understand his situation. If not for KSH (both his face and acting ability), I'm not sure if there is another actor that can rescue the character and be so loved now. Hahaha yes I am watching and up to date. But I'm just a little better than @SilverMoonTea lol. And I realised that apart from CLOY, I have not been able to finish MLFAS and LOTBS. When I looked at the episodes on Netfix, I realised each episode is almost 1.5hours long! And I remember reading the S pages for CLOY and some people complaining the episodes were too long - I feel like that sometimes haha. Then I also remember those people being told off by CLOY fans that they can stop watching if they don't like it. So I keep my mouth shut here hahahaha.

Replying some older posts: I think there may also be family unity at the end. Aunt Beom-ja is shown to love the OTP, and she feels so sad for her brother who is doing all he can to save the dying snail 😂, not knowing his own daughter is dying. Brother, though an idiot, does not really have a bad heart. He and the mother will likely come around once they realise they have been cheated by the man they are now idolising. So will grandpa, but who knows if he will go to jail since there seems to be some hanky panky at the company. Maybe like Hae In says? She will wait for him in heaven and welcome him as an angel hahahaha! I think this may be right for the ending. It is unlikely that Hae In will die. And Hyun Woo is the save the damsel type of guy. Plus, he drew in that lifeline for her - so he can extend her life. At the expense of his own? Let's see. I'm so sad! CLOY is at risk again! It is quite surprising that the planning started so long ago so I am looking forward to knowing why. Though I think Eun Song may be the mistress's son, I strongly doubt he is the grandpa's son. Even if illegitimate, there are ways to obtain his rightful place without going to this extreme. I sincerely hope there is a better reason. Hahaha, I actually really dislike his friends, especially the divorce lawyer. He is such a blabbermouth. Each time Hyun Woo consulted him in the first few episodes, it made me dislike Hyun Woo even more for being such an a** to his wife. Those are real couch potatoes. We are not... ahem. 😂 I saw such tweets too! But I don't like it at all. If both Hae In and Hyun Woo and their marriage are to survive, give them a new baby please. Not a takeover one.

A theory - that Hae In is poisoned instead of having a tumour. I think so. When I first started watching kdramas a few years ago, I was surprised that modern Korea is so young! The korean war was actually relatively recent in 1950 and it was only in the 1960s that SK started to modernise although still with authoritarian leadership. I still remember the days when we in Singapore bought Samsung and Hyundai because they were the cheapest appliances and cars. And I read articles on how Samsung consciously moved from price to design over time. SK's growth has been amazing in just 60 years. And so now, never say that dramas don't teach you anything 🤣.

If Eun Song was courting Hae In, how can he be Grandpa's son? That would be incest.

That’s really well written @gilaswan. I’ve only watched a few of her dramas, but it seems this writer adds a little fantasy/out of the world scenarios in her stories. So I thought hey, Hae In’s lifeline extending is perhaps a part of the magical element, similar to the temporary lapses in memory/awareness of her surroundings. But no, it was drawn in by Hyun Woo 😭😂. I’ve a feeling this won’t be a straightforward happy ending. Probably the love from afar type like CLOY and MLFAS. What do you think?

Glorius sighting at the 2024 MLB World Tour Series. Since the wedding, most of the snaps were captured by the public at restaurants etc. I think this is the first time they are out together "officially".

My journey just 10 min ago on this thread: 1. Yay it's a thriller/crime drama! Synopsis looks good. 2. Rats, that first teaser looks like it's focusing on the relationship of the 3 leads. 3. Ooh, trailers look exciting. 4. S***, Abs says FL is not too bright.......... 5. But Peperomia says there is suspense! I shall try this weekend 😆

I see so many of you raving about how good looking Kim Soo Hyun is. But I don't see it 😭😅 I think Park Sung Hoon's character is very interesting, because we don't really understand his underlying motive yet. In fact, at times, I wish Hae In would choose him 😂 Could he be working with Grandpa's mistress?

I watched half an episode. Then I stopped. Movie would have been fine. But 10 episodes of people talking to a nugget head or trying to find a way to turn the nugget back into human!!! I fear for my brain. And that looked more like sweet and sour pork then chicken nugget!

Think this is Netflix’s way of spreading their risk. They do multiple short seasons. Then do S2 for those with good response. This means long wait right? Wonder if there’s even a script yet.

Thanks @mademoiselle I will try ep 3 and 4. At least it sounds more interesting than Wedding Impossible - I stopped after half of last night’s episode.

If the drama continues as it has in ep2, it's looking good. Everyone seems to have a hidden agenda/secret so there is a little suspense all around. Park Sung Hoon's appearance makes things even more lively. Agreed that Hyun Woo is not likeable for now. Seems heartless that he was happy that his wife, a woman he used to love, was suddenly dying in 3 months. I'm not sure a decent person can do that, no matter how miserable he was. Plus, his misery is a little self-made - it looks like he was a pushover in the 3 years of marriage. Did he attempt to discuss his difficulties with Hae In? There were moments between the 2 of them where it felt they could have been a power-couple if only they worked together. I hope the show is not going to go the usual route of the wife finding out that he was faking (initially) to create the angst later. This is a good observation. I realised that I pitied the men, but not when the women were in the kitchen because that was the "norm". I shall try to be more aware of my own bias from now onwards lol! Do you think Hae In is not the mother's natural daughter? Could she be adopted or father's illegitimate child? At this time, he despises her haha. But I think he is going to find that he does still love her if they can get along better. It's clear she still loves him from ep 1.

I think the ending was not very memorable, because I can't remember it anymore hahaha.

Ep1 Kim Ji Won is real frosty! While Kim Soo Hyun is a little “nuah” (soft/too accommodating) as the long suffering husband. He wants a divorce but knows that he will be destroyed by the family if he leaves so he hesitates. The wife obviously still loves him. They married for love so I wonder what happened that the relationship deteriorated to this state. Maybe the wife has a plan but can’t openly stand up for him and he mistook that. The best scene is the one with Oh Jung Se, the therapist! So funny. I hope his is a recurring cameo. Kim Ji Won’s clothes are nice! So is the interior decor. One thing that bothers a little is they used the exact location of Binjin’s wedding and the same flower decor (though not as abundant) and the same display of photos for the OTP’s wedding. As BJ’s wedding was private, this seems an intrusion. Hopefully the writer at least sought agreement from Binjin.
