  1. She is so cute Also really nice too because she tried to pick up as many fan gifts and letters as she was leaving. But her poor managers/ handlers nearly had a heart attack when she went closer to the crowd! Sometimes I wished I lived in Singapore for the celebrity visits too. But then I remember how hot it is and I'm ok Hahaha @mademoiselle is correct @Chocolate - no money was spent this time! I just went to the mall since my aunty was planning to go there anyway to show us TRX which is apparently the newest of all the malls Surprisingly, there was not too big a crowd (lots of people, but less than I thought) and I was luckily standing on the right side of the stage (closest to the exit she came in and out of). I feel sorry for the people who waited on the other side coz pretty sure they saw nothing. The people who got the best photos apparently waited 5 hours I had already saw her concert last year, also I'm not that big a fan to wait several hours. I only waited 1 hour, so not too bad an experience overall Hahaha I agree - time is money. But I've always liked to see celebrities so I guess it feels like value for me. Not sure why. Maybe just to confirm they are real people But my love of celebrities is probably what got me in my current job so it has earned me money (it's covered the money I spent seeing some celebrities I liked ) Hahaha I was wondering if MMH was worth watching, but it sounds like another big drama that wasn't worth it according to you seasoned drama watchers, so glad I didn't pick it up. Do all of you watch every Kdrama? What makes you decide if something is worth watching? I use to watch all the dramas with the big league actors like PMY. But the older I get, the more I can only watch dramas if the story looks good and I like both actors and the pairing looks like it'd work well. Maybe one day I'll watch it if extremely bored Hahaha you know how I feel about LMH, so I'd say that you made the right choice. Would not be worth it because the crowds would also be crazy Question: would you see Rowoon at a paid (or unpaid) thing if he was coming to our city?? I only go to the celebrity things I have definite times for - have never waited at the airport for example because that sounds tricky (long wait for a few seconds, unsure of when they come out, these days most wear masks or caps). But if they're going to be at a shopping mall or fashion event where they'll be there at least an hour and it's not too hard to get to, sure, count me in I feel like in my city, queues draw more people in. Especially for food - people automatically assume long queue = good food Parking sounds like the worst! I don't own a car and my life feels all the better for it. I do drive a few times a month, but luckily it's to friend's houses so no troubles for parking. Hahaha @SilverMoonTea from all my years of knowing you, you only like 2 kinds of romances: 1) The ones that are cursed because they're very mild or almost non-existant or 2) The ones that are cursed because they're too hot and full of illegal tension This is why you like dating shows!! I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I've retired from watching dating shows. I cannot do another season
  2. (Jen, I am going to reserve these couple of posts for you -- Tofu)
  3. Not exactly Oppa related, but there's no unnie thread so...I ended up seeing Kim Sejeong again at TRX Mall today Not very close, but better than nothing (there's a video that is closer, but having trouble linking on my phone ) So far Kim Sejeong I have seen twice...every other kdrama star = 0 times
  4. Hahaha I think you can just have more than one true love - you can support a community of your oppas Awwwww, hope it all pays off. I'm sure you're doing good work even if it sounds like it might be tiring in the short term.
  5. Episodes 1-2 I'm actually really enjoying this drama. It's been a long time since I've been invested in a drama couple/ romance genre story. The premiere episodes of this have trumped everything I watched last year by a long shot so far! I'm not sure why - maybe because it's my 2 old favourite oppas, Park Hyung Sik and Yoon Park. Maybe because it's the old school romance leads, Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik. Maybe it's because Park Hyung Sik has rebounded back to his Strong Women Do Bong Soon days. Eh who knows, I'm just really liking everything The story is refreshing too. I think so many Korean dramas in the past have always made doctors these highly revered and god like figures. But I prefer to see the human side of doctors - to see what happens when things get tough because it's not one of those walk in the park type jobs. I also actually don't really like medical dramas because I'm really quite squirmish about blood and body parts and bodily functions etc (Funny because I can deal with gangster hacking each other up, but don't want to watch 20 mins of an operation with lots of blood). But I find this story one I can invest in because the characters are more of the focus rather than the medical cases (so far) The characters are pretty well balanced so far. I think they have their flaws, but definitely not finding anyone annoying and can easily sympathise with all their problems. Wonder if Jeong woo is being framed by one of his old classmates? Really glad Ha Eul's mum accepted her depression - I hate it when parents are in denial for several episodes! @peperomia @mademoiselle yes to Yoon Park playing more likeable characters. It's been awhile since he was the hot kind hearted chef from Age of Youth/ Hello My Twenties. And damn, I miss that!
  6. [Reserved] Cast: Lee Jae Wook Lee Jun Young Hong Su Zu
  7. Oooh glad you're enjoying it! I'm enjoying it too! I think I'm enjoying it much more than any of the romances I watched last year so that's a big plus! It is so so so hot. I'm melting as we speak Speaking of Malaysia, I was hoping some celebrities would come open up things for one of the new malls. And there is one happening this weekend. But it's Kim Sejeong who I saw a few months ago will try to see her anyway as I'm pretty sure we'll be there on that day. But also, could they not have sent Lee Jae Wook while I was in Asia? Really no 緣份 huh! Hahaha I think it's slightly different hanging with friends than with 1 friend at a time? But I feel for you. Must be hard around CNY if you are not a socialiser! Wowww are you not even finishing your dating shows? Have you hit a new low Tea? Haha I'll do it tonight. Thread might be slightly ugly till I get back home because I'm doing everything via phone which is not what I like to do normally Oh no! Is this because CNY gatherings/ being social as well as work? Or just the amount of people you have to talk to as part of work? Well you know how deeply I car about Lee Jae Wook so if someone decides to pick Jun, I'll have to fight them till the death about this @Tofu
  8. Hahaha hey hey, I'm just an ambivert. After 9 days of hanging out, that's why I ran away to Malaysia ...though technically now I'm here to hang out with more people in the form of relatives Oooh if @Tofu hasn't done it yet, I'll be happy to do it? Yay it's been awhile since we watched something together
  9. @SilverMoonTea @abs-oluteM @Tofu Thanks for rescuing meee when I was locked out of Janghaven I'm currently in Malaysia! It's so hot Anyway, it'll give me some time catch up on my kdramas because I've started Doctor Slump. There's something I really like about Doctor Slump. Maybe because it's classic Park Hyung Sik and because him and Park Shin Hye have worked together before they seem to have a nice comfortable chemistry. I'm going to chat on the thread later Me too Lately I haven't even had the luck to go to the paid/ planned fan meets, let alone getting the luck to run into them by chance on the street somewhere. Last year was pretty bad - so many good fan meets for Someday or One Day and Lee Jaewook and I couldn't even make it to one due to preplanned holidays and then work being busy. One day I will make it work for Lee Jaewook Hahaha I'm sorry I'm sorry. I'm here nowwwww. Just spam tag me whenever you have news! Hahaha oh dear @mademoiselle why does your social experiences sound somewhat traumatic?! You and @Tofu sound like you need low key relaxing hang outs at safe restaurants A nightmare to all of you: ...So before I went on this holiday, I went and caught up/ hung out with different people for 9 days straight. However almost all the people I caught up with were introverts I do get my energy from hanging out with people. But contrary to popular belief, I'm not a super extrovert. I'm really more of an ambivert. Whenever I do those personality tests, I only skew towards the extrovert side by 1 or 2 questions. I like to be social, but I need a fair bit of independence/ time by myself as well (I travel well by myself and eat out by myself, watch movies by myself etc). I was just as happy during the lockdown watching kdramas/ doing my own projects as I was going out this past week everyday and seeing different people As opposed to a few of my extroverted friends who felt drained and sad during the lockdowns because they couldn't see people. @Tofu yes I remember talking about this! My MBTI is ENFP which is oddly the most introverted of the extroverts - all the introverts I know think I'm super extroverted and all the extroverts I know think I'm quite introverted. It's a weird mix!
  10. I am sooooo here for this one I like these 2. But I feel like I'm going to be scared watching it alone
  11. Ah my dear @SilverMoonTea, you are the dating show expert more than me I am ashamed that I have now watched Singles Inferno and I will deny it ever happened if asked by the people around me (jks, jks, I already told my friends and they judged me, but also they've watched the worse reality TV like Jersey Shore, so they told me that this was nothing ) Ohhh saddd. I guess I didn't miss much then. But hopefully this New Years Eve at the end of the year will have better awards. Depends on whether there are better couples this year I guess Hahaha, Dispatch were slow on the game this year. A broken up couple? Too slow (also don't care about sports people) Hahaha that's been a long standing rumour for Cho Yi Hyun! Not sure where I first saw it, but I've seen it mentioned by her fans a few times. I like vampire stories, but I do think it's hard to do them well - so much is often done in an overly dramatic, cheesey way for the sake of portraying an impossible romance (Twilight) or done poorly for the sake of having a sad/ bittersweet ending (Heatbeat). But I think there's a first time for everything to succeed so I wouldn't write it off just because it hasn't succeeded in the past - I've seen good romances and bad romances, good mystery/murder stories and terrible ones, really touching sports dramas and also really uninspiring sports dramas (I'm looking at you Love All Play )...and so I think vampire stories just need someone with good taste and good storytelling ability to take it on Anyway, LJW has a good eye and even more star power to pick his own projects these days so I trust his decisions if he chooses to / or not to do one Poor man going to be soooo confused I knowwwww - I'm terrible at responding to everyone which is a mystery why I still have friends Please feel free to share all your excitements with me anyway coz I always like knowing what's going on and which of my Oppas are doing stuff (If LJW is doing another round of fan meets, I give you permission to spam tag me EVERYDAY). I also like reading your opinions and finding out which dramas everyone likes or doesn't like. Since covid lockdowns ended I sometimes book myself up for full weeks of socialising though - this week I'm going out every night, so I try to watch my dramas late at night afer I've come back from friends hang outs and then respond here. I kinda wish I had as much time as I did during lockdowns sometimes (though I do not want to be lockdowned) Hahaha I think I mention you (not by name but as a friend who loves Rowoon) on every episode where there's Rowoon mentioned. And probably in the 2 hour episode because I think I talked about why people liked/ didn't like Uncanny Counter 2 (I think I mentioned a few reasons you mentioned for not liking it). I actually liked it better than a lot of the other sequels like Taxi driver 2 and found it entertaining but not as dark as D.P 2 so I think I talked about some of it's redeeming qualities as well as it's major shortcomings. Ohhh nooooo, you're living off a sugary diet of reality TV @abs-oluteM I see your drama list in your signature is quite lite too...are you sure that's all you're watching?!
  12. Hahaha It actually sounds lovely. If only I could get over my ick for Ji Chang Wook Sounds mean, but I just got too disappointed over his last couple of dramas that l can't take that risk
  13. You are forgiven because it's true, haven't been very consistent here in the last year! I love live watching, but last year wasn't able to do so...or sometims I did watch live, but wasn't able to chat on the thread due to lack of time Hopefully this year there is more time to do both! I'm about to go back to Malaysia for a holiday though, so we shall see if I keep up my consistency of checking in. Last year I didn't write on many threads, but I did make a 2 hr long podcast at the end of last year about the 23 Kdramas (and 1 Taiwanese drama) I watched coz I had to get all my feelings of each drama out of my chest before the new year began Actually I think I might have mentioned something you said to me in passing in this episode @mademoiselle - I don't remember what though. Something about Rowoon or about how you didn't like The Uncanny Counter 2? If you have 2 hours to kill one day, you can listen here:
  14. Hahahaha She looks pretty but very haughty and made-up! I also just came back from my brother annd sister in law's place and they sat me down and tried to force me to watch the first season because they said it was the best and Song Ji-A has a mysterious vibe. ...But she just looks like a bored influencer to me I think you're right - it's the same person. Rowoon is cute! Like "Hi mum!" ....LJW's reaction made me laugh though coz he's serving up his usual LJW cheek, even in English. I can't believe how lucky fans have been to get so close to him! Hahaha what didn't you like about Moving @Tofu? I don't know if I love it -it feels like something has been missing somehow, but it became a lot more watchable from episode 7? I'm still only watching it quite slowly though when like @SilverMoonTea I managed to watch freaking Singles Inferno back to back...I'm slightly ashamed of myself Hahaha maybe I picked a normal-ish user name so you could direct all the celebrity greeting my way Oooh interesting. I think I've become so jaded from Ji Chang Wook dramas in recent years that I didn't think to watch it at all. But maybe I'll give it a shot someday when I feel more in the mood to give it a go. I also haven't seen the other dramas by this writer so I am curious I'll respond to your longer reply tomorrow @mademoiselle...but just have to say I'm mildly offended - slice of life/ small town dramas are one of my favourite genres and I've watched heaps with you guys!!! I loved, loved, loved Racket Boys and Once Upon a Small Town and When the Weather was Fine. Definitely watched Hometown Cha Cha Cha and The Good Bad Mother (though I don't think I chat on that thread). One of my favourites as y'all know was Dodosolsollalasol, which could also count as a small town drama. One of my favourite Taiwanese dramas is Yong Jiu Grocery Store - The most ultimate small town, slice of life drama (guy gives up being an office worker in the city to come home to help his ill grandfather with his grocery store in the countryside) You take that back that I don't like slice of life/ small town dramas! I just don't really like Ji Chang Wook dramas I think Healer has been the only drama of his that I really liked Hahahaha nope I definitely watched Hometown CCC! I guessed 2/3 of the mysteries correctly!!! I think I wrote an entire essay on all my guesses Alas my presence and long messages has been forgotten My longest post about Hometown Cha Cha Cha was on page 27 of the thread:
  15. Not watching Marry My Husband . I think I've got a tiny bit of drama burn out? I'm not sure what it is. I normally do watch Park Min Young Dramas Has the second part come out already??? I know what I'm doig tomorrow night!!! Hahaha First adoption of the year? This would be my tactic if I was a celeb Hahaha oh I haven't seen the Rowoon version of this 'Say hi to my mum'...do you have a link??? She posted it from her own Twitter account so I suppose I could ask her. She seemed conversational I appreciate that you'd ask him to say to meeee KSJ's concert was pretty full house. Some guy behind me flew in from Perth to see her and the dude in front of me was a Malaysian guy who had followed her to 4 CONCERTS (Melbourne, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand) and was flying out to see Jessica from Girl's Gen in Thailand THE NEXT DAY Some people sure are rich But yeah, the reason I knew it was full house was coz it took ages to get group photos. Lots of cattle herding of everyone in the venue. The venue was close to Southern cross station. I think they chose it because they were picking a place which was not too big, not too small (so could maximise ticket sales) and from which they could guard her safely (I think the venue had less entrannces and exits than others I've seen). Festival Hall is a weird venue though because it's owned by Hillsong, the church They bought it a number of years ago. They were stressed about how late the concert went overtime though (I assume they had to clean up for church gatherings on the weekend )
  16. I'm back to finish my responses! I've missed all those dramas because I wasn't particularly interested in the storylines or actors. I think my first watches of this year will be Eye Love You and Doctor Slump at the end of Jan. For now I'll just be finishing Moving as the slowest person to watch it Why was Welcome to Samdalri hard to watch at first? And what is Samdalri anyway??? BTW @abs-oluteM and @mademoiselle I was sad not to have watched the Drama Awards with you both on New Year's Eve as I have the last few years on New Years! I was a friend's party, so I missed all the glamour! But last year was only a so-so drama year for me, so didn't have any couples/ reunions I was looking forward to. Hopefully this year though! ALSO who was the couple they revealed on NY's this year? I've been living under a rock lately but I want to catch up again Really? That bad, huh! I think Shin Yu was definitely his best performance yet, despite my misgivings on that drama. I'm not a big fan of Sageuk either way but I feel sad that it wasn't an interesting storyline/ pairing. I kinda hope she gets paired with LJW though because they would look so cool in a vampire drama together Hahaha you're more sensible than me. We get so few fan meets in Australia that I will pay the big bucks if someone I like comes down Not Oppa related, but Unni related: I don't think I ever gave you guys the run down on the Kim Sejeong fan meet but it was so fun! I also won a signed polaroid because they drew out my seat number (So I guess the price of my ticket felt more justified!) Also she came past really close to me when she did her walk. So glad my ticket ended up being at the end of a row instead of the middle of the row (those people missed out!). Here's my recording made into a gif so you don't have to hear all the screaming! Super expensive cconsidering you have to stand for so long!!! KSJ = everyone was seated. Hahaha I won't say so much because we've talked in the thread ( can't believe I haven't had the time to write in the threads of my favourite dramas, but somehow I have been compelled to give my 2 cents on Singles Inferno ) But just wanted to say old money will always mean more options What did Song Ji A look like? My brother said S1 was funny because all the guys were after 1 girl. I assume it was her? I'm refusing to watch another season coz I need to get back into healthier habbits. Like watching proper dramas Hahaha has Eye Love You started yet??? I think I saw somewhere that it's in a week or so. I too follow a lot of CJH accounts ...But not as many as LJW accounts. My god. That guy has melted down Milan Also I'm so jelly of this girl who got to talk to him... And LJW's reaction is sooo funny when she asks him to say hi to her mum. I bet he didn't know the extent of his power on older ladies
  17. Hahahaha, not for me! I liked Minwoo and Minkyu. Did I like them because they were interestiing or because they were relatively hot compared to the others? That's a different question Woon Ik, I wasn't a fan of. But it might be because he was a Real Estate agent and I've hated dealing with them, so I got the ick from that You could tell he was thick skinned because it was so obvious that the girl was not into him, but he still persisted Or at least he agreed to play that role, because pretty sure everything is heavily scripted Out of all the guys I liked Jin Seok the best because he was totally the best trash talker and I laughed so hard when he called out Ha Jeon for her flirty face I actually think Min Young and Jin Seok had better chemistry than Gwan Hee and Hye Soon. At least their play arguing was funny/cute/ kinda reminds me of my friends even though Min Young was pretty annoying at the start. And out of all the girls, I think I ended up liking Ha Jeong the best because she was pretty funny in the end and they gave her a 'one-sided romance' storyline which was relatable content Who were your favourites @SilverMoonTea?
  18. Hahaha I didn't know you started a whole thread on this show I was not a fan of Gwan Hee at all - he was a big man baby, but I suppose they needed someone to bring the entertainment and drama and Gwan Hee was good at being dramatic and talkative. I've never watched watched the other seasons so don't know how he weighs up compared to the other season's contestants. But he was definitely the most exhausting guy on the island. As for Hye Soon, I think she was fun enough. I already got the sense that she was a very ambitious person from her discipline to maintain her body and her ability to do a very good course at a good uni. I feel like she was good at reading and dechipering people, but not sure if she that much chemistry with Gwan Hee? I don't know if I believed they actually liked each other more than friends...but I felt like she went for him coz, you know There's a Taiwanese drama called 'At the Moment' on Netflix which I watched last year and the first episode is about these actors who end up on a reality show called 'New Tenants' (which reminds me of a spoof of 'Terrance House' ). In the show two of the actors pretend they're falling in love on the reality TV episodes to bring up the ratings, but in real life Gingle Wang's character is falling for another actor behind the scenes of the show. Wouldn't be surprised if this was the case here Yeah, I feel like everyone now knows Gwan Hee as rich. I think if he wasn' there, they would have gone for the more modelly looking guys
  19. Hahahaha yeah, it's weird! I don't know why I've sunken so low as to watch Single Inferno when I swore I never would!!! I feel like I'm waiting for all my shows to come out at the moment so I don't think I've watched anything new recently. I'm still finishing Moving - I don't know if I'm in love with the show as much as other people were, but it's still a fun watch. I'm probably not as addicted because I'm not live watching it...which means I take forever to complete it Hahaha I don't think I've written my list anywhere so it's all from memory. Both were super weak adoptions to begin with...and now both have faded considerably. I think I couldn't get past KMG's long hair (and poor wattpad storyline) in The Heavenly Idol and KSH...well, I got the ick after the scandal. I don't think people should be cancelled necessarily, but for each actor, there's a period of testing the waters. This one has drown in the waters for me unfortunately Fair enough I agree CJH hasn't taken any strong enough roles which has emphasised his charms. They need to utilise his puppy dog cuteness in all its glory Yep, totally going to check out his Jdrama! I went through a phrase last year where I watched like 3-4 Jdramas in a row after years of not watching any. Looking forward to this one though! Is it out yet??? Does @Tofu know? I think from memory of the book, he's meant to be 'handsome' and also as you say, the 'bad boy' syndrome. I think she comes to accept her husband, but I don't it's quite the passionate love she had for LMH. Which is ew since that character he plays is a creep. Ohhh right. I mixed up the co-stars It's Kim Min-Ha. I was wondering why I picked it up when I thought it was KGE hahaha I'll watch Pachinko 2 since Steven Noh is in it and he makes for a hot pastor Hahaha isn't it your unholy pairing of Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik? I loved Death's Game! It was fun and gruesome at times, but also sad annd meaningful at others. I was really touched by the LJW storyline, but wished he could have had longer I've liked all of LJW's characters so far in all his dramas, but understand some of the disappointments people have had about the storylines. Anyway, this is a LJW year and I'm really looking forward to his 2 upcoming dramas Oh, just realised it's 2:15am I shall resume responses tomorrow
  20. Hello! Late to the game, but I've finished the first part! How could I not when Lee Jae Wook was in this??? Really loved his role too. Funny seeing an Alechmy of Souls reunion here though oddly spread out! Also loved seeing the rest of the biig names including Lee Do Hyun...the story was surprisingly smoothly acted given how many people were playing the same character. Is the second part out yet?
  21. I will watch this btw! I don't mind Park Shin Hye though she's definitely a bit stiff in romantic roles. I love Park Hyung Sik though I don't often watch medical dramas, but I'll give it a go
  22. Yesssss! I'm glad you see the beauty in Steven Noh! I always found it hard to believe that Kim Go Eun's character in Pachinko choose Lee Min Ho (in her heart) over Steven Noh. Like girl are you blind? Not worth it in my opinion. How is his new project The Matchmakers? Should I watch it? I do like Choi Yi Hyun. I'm not a big lover of historical dramas though as you know
  23. Happy New Year everyone! I feel like it's been a little while since I checked in - It's been very busy socially this year already Also I haven't watched any dramas because a work mate convinced me to watch Singles Inferno and while I hate reality TV, it was like crack - the fake dating lives of a bunch of conventionally attractive strangers is so oddly addictive I don't know why I wasted my time watching 3 girls go after Gwan Hee who was neither good looking nor charismatic. Anyway, I wasted precious drama watching time watching that, but sometimes you just need something that involves no thinking What's everyone watching at the moment??? I see a lot of good dramas about to come out! I'm probably going to watch Doctor Slump (Sorry @mademoiselle!) and looking forward to the rest of Death's Game and A Killer Paradox...what else is good at the moment??? Hahaha This is how I feel too. If too mushy, I'm slightly sick of the romance. If teasing the romance, I'm more likely to become more addicted Mannnn so cheesy ...but like my fangirl heart really approves this Taecyeon was probably my strongest adoption last year and that was not god tier. But he's still pretty cuteeee Hahahaha only 24 Oppas?! Hope your KPIs are higher this year! Yeah 2023 was definitely a year of 'no strong attachements' ...Hope this year brings you more attractive Oppas though! I think you did adopt him and then unadopted him I definitely mistake wayyy too many actors for the characters they play...but still, they sit in the lower adoption tiers till the next good drama they do comes along Hahaha Kim Min Gyu and Kim Seon Ho are also unadopted for me, though they were already on very weak tiers. But your list is brutal ...so many getting the axe Me too!!! There's only a handful that I care about Oh no hope his injury got better!!! That looks like quite a big scar Sad that Chae Jong Hyeop did not make the list. One day, he'll get under your skin the way he has for @Tofu and me. I died when he wore that uniform. Can we please have a drama of him as a navy officer or something? Hahaha they probably do have some sort of behind the scenes. I have to admit my balance has been off last year - I barely watched any Taiwanese dramas or BTS last year. But hoping to get back into the sync of things espcially with the Alice/Jasper/Paul drama coming out this year
  24. Hahahaha I probably need money management help! Things are so expensive in my city!!! I use to spend like this but now my usually state when I see the cost of things is this My tip is, if it's safe and easy to use Facebook marketplace, it's worth trying to look for things you need there first before buying new. Many times I've found books and clothes there, brand new with tags or original packaging for only 20%/ 30% / 50% of the original price. Sometimes you have to travel a bit to pick it up. But it was so helpful the other day when I needed to get something to wear for a wedding with a colour theme (pink). I didn't have any clothes in that colour but found a decent formal dress, originally $120, for $30. It was brand new with tags and the girl only lived 1 street away from me. It helped to save money and was good for the envrionment
