@mademoiselle Without seeing more, I can't tell from the short clips. I know that those scenes with Lee Do Hyun didn't exist. At least, I do not remember them. The drama changed quite a bit of stuff, so I wonder if this is another new thing they added.

@Maya Ahhh!! Meguro Ren is adorable and that fanmade video of them is really well edited too! For a minute there I forgot I was watching a fanmade video and thought it was an actual drama. Memorable Scene. I'm not going to lie, I specifically made this prompt so I can talk about this scene from Twinkling Watermelon. Haha! It is without a doubt one of the most memorable scenes from all the dramas I watched this year. I often think back to this scene whenever I'm communicating with my brother and he does not understand me (I have a brother who's deaf). You can feel the emotions and the frustration from the inability to communicate effectively in this scene. Highly recommend this drama to anyone who has not watched it!

Only three more days left in 2023. I'll start in 2024. LOL!

@peperomia To be honest, I stopped watching AvenueX's videos a long time ago because, at the time, she was very negative about a lot of things and her views typically did not reflect mine. I'm always surprised when she has something positive to say about a drama, because that's the impression I came to have of her -- only talking about the negatives and what she disliked. Personally, negative talks to me is draining and I think that's one of the biggest contributors as to why I stopped. I don't think I understood the magnitude of how much criticisms Liu Yuning received about his looks. I saw a few things here and there, but suddenly it was everywhere to the point where he was addressing it on his live streams and in interviews. I can't imagine what it feels like to have to address this type of criticism every single time he's in something. These are the types of comments that will send someone into a state of depression. Ning Yuanzhou is someone who is heavily skilled in what he does. He was an assassin, if he's too handsome, he'll stand out too much. I don't remember seeing photos of past generals/commanders that were handsome. God cannot give you both assets that would be unfair to everyone else! I thought Ruyi had a nice balance to her as well. At the end, they both sustained multiple injuries traveling back and forth between An and Wu. To me, it also seemed like this journey was going to be their last one before they retired. The human body can only hold up for so long. I really liked Yu Shisan and he is arguably my favorite character from Chinese dramaland this year. However, I thought that Yang Ying's character growth was one of my absolute favorite in all the dramas I watched. I love that her growth was done gradually and that you can visibly see it. Honestly, I think all the main characters in this drama was written really well except for Li Tongguang. I agreed that I wished his character growth was similar to Yang Ying's. With every passing episodes, I found myself wishing for more out of him, but it never really truly got there. When it kind of did at the end, I felt it was a bit too late. I also agreed that I think Yuanzhou saving him at the end was something Yuanzhou would have done regardless.

We start in 2024, right? There's no plan to start right away, is there? LOL!

I don't even remember half of the oppas I adopted this year, but apparently nine of them made it to my list. @mademoiselle That looks like it'll probably scar and it must have hurt a lot when it happened. I'm glad it didn't do any permanent damage...at least I hope it didn't.

@SilverMoonTea I have a couple of books sitting on my nightstand that I have yet to read. I have not even read the book I bought in Singapore. LOL! I guess my 2024 goal is to read more books or at least finish the ones I have on my nightstand. I created a Goodreads account so maybe that will hold be accountable....maybe.

I was actually telling @SilverMoonTea and @mademoiselle that while I do not condone the use of drugs, I do not think it's worth all the negativities South Korea places on it. The use of marijuana is legal in many US states and hosting is a common practice in countries like Japan. When someone uses drugs, they are harming themselves and not really inflicting harm (physical) on others. South Korea is so quick to pass judgement and cancel someone who use drugs, but they hardly have the same reaction to someone who's sexually assaulting/abusing/harassing others. There are many Korean actors or public figures who has been found to sexually harass women but they are still getting booked. Recently, there is a TikToker with 55 million followers who was booked on sexual abuse charges. He and his friend liquored up a girl to the point where she was so drunk she passed out. They took her back to the friend's house where they raped her many times while filming the whole act. The girl regained consciousness and immediately called the police. The police dropped the filming charges because they said there's not enough evidences and the TikToker is only looking at seven years of prison time if convicted. Seven years?! That's so short considering that they basically planned to get someone drunk and rape that person. The TikToker claimed that the sexual act was consensual but I don't see how that's possible considering she was passed out! Anyway, I'm really shocked to see the news and I hope everyone who's impacted by this (esp. his family) gets the professional help they need to get through the trauma.

Kentaro said at the recent award show he was in that it's going to be a sad love story. I guess, if it's called a melo romance drama then this drama is going to have angst and probably lots of it.

@Mizv I'm not watching, but I will see random clips of the main couple. The ML really does his best at showing his affections towards the FL. I read that they were together for a day before they broke up?

This would be great if it just drops! Liu Yuning is having his moment right now and I would love to see another drama of his get released. It always is interesting to me that celebrities do not learn from other celebrities' mistake with some of these things especially tax evasion. Then again, they probably have people do their taxes and openly trust that people would do them correctly.

I really liked this movie too. Have you seen this fan made video of their story? I thought it captured everything so beautifully. @abs-oluteM I just finished watching Soundtrack #2 and I started it for the same reason too -- Noh Sang Hyun. Haha! He is a very handsome guy and I thought the character of Suho matched him well. I wasn't a fan of the reason used (which was the same one as the first time) for their second break up. I wished we had more of the FL's POV. The ending also seemed a bit abrupt. They had almost an entire episode to wrap up the storyline and it just felt a little meh. HAHAHAHAHA!! The actors are what draws us in first, so it's ok if it's for that reason too. In Chinese dramaland, my favorite character was arguably Yu Shisan from A Journey to Love. I don't think I have the right words to explain how great this character was and how amazing Fang Yilun was at playing him. Yu Shisan's motto in life is to drink the strongest wine, meet the most beautiful girls, make the best of friends, and fight the greatest wars.

Christmas greetings from the cast. @mademoiselle I was browsing through videos on social media and came upon this Korean American guy who was talking about Death's Game. He was recommending it and saying it's the best Korean drama he's watched this year. Later on he screenshot the actors and talked about who has appeared and who hasn't. He said Sung Hoon hadn't appeared yet and I laughed so much when he said that. That short clip of him.....hahahahahaha!

In an alternative universe, they do exist together. Hahaha! I miss them and on and off screen, it seems like the cast had a really good time and chemistry.

He is the best! I was sobbing when he was talking about how he's the best runner.

Glow as in the glowing meadow at the end? I wouldn't know what the sequel could be about because it was a sad ending for all the characters except Li Tongguang and Yang Ying. This fan edit video was really nice. @SilverMoonTea You can just watch this to know how the main couple ends. LOL!

@OsmanthusTea I did and I liked it. I guess I don't dislike sci-fi, but I'm really picky about what I watch. Haha! A Journey to Love Fashion Show, hahaha!

I feel like I should come and make a comment on the end of this drama but I don't think I have the words. It had so much potential and I don't know what happened. I was just happy it ended with an ending that was satisfying given the supernatural storyline.

@OsmanthusTea You might be on your own with that one. Haha! I'm not a fan of sci-fi. I watched two episodes of The Last Immortal and might continue it once they release the remaining airing schedule. They only released the airing schedule it up to episode 20 for some reason. Xianxia goes through too many lifetime, so I don't want to completely pick it up until more episodes are out. I want to be able to skip. LOL! This is a good first Liu Yuning drama. After The Long Ballad, I didn't watch him in his other dramas. I tried Heroes, but I'm not the biggest fan of the female lead so I couldn't get into it. I was looking forward to his drama, The Prisoner of Beauty, but the female lead got into some legal trouble (tax evasion), so it's unclear if we will ever see that drama. He is currently filming with Zhao Lusi. Both of them were previously paired together in The Long Ballad, so this will be their second project together. I'm hoping their storyline is more interesting than it was in The Long Ballad (in TLB, it started out really slow and at one point I couldn't understand what purpose their characters had in the drama). I like him too and he's improved a lot. I first saw him in The Heart of Genius and while he was good, you can noticeably tell Fu Bo Han is superior to him in acting. Aww...they are so cute! I hope they participate in another drama in the future!

Yes! He even called Yuanzhou shifu and touzi. Haha! I think that's a really good interpretation of the ending and one I much preferred. If Chu Yue is in the meadow, wouldn't that mean that she also passed on like everyone else? Maybe not until ten years later though since there's that time jump. In an alternative universe, they are all together. Ning Yuanzhou and Ren Ruyi have their twins or babies like planned. Yuan Lu is healthy, Sun Lang is surrounded by his fluffy animal friends, Qian Ziao has his own pharmacy, and Yu Shisan is still living his best life. Regardless of the ending, this drama is still my favorite from Chinese dramaland this year. Yu Shisan is arguably my favorite character. I hope this drama give Fang Yilun the opportunity to have better scripts in the future. Chen You Wei (Yuan Lu) is reunited with Liu Shishi in her next drama (Fox Spirt Matchmaker). Li Tongguang looks nice in costume drama despite being such a torn to me in this drama (LOL!). I hope to see Chang Hua Sen in more costume dramas in maybe a green flag role next time. Now what? What drama are we going to watch next?

Even though I might have cried during some of the scenes from the last couple of episodes, I'm not upset about the outcome. It's one of those where I wished it could have been different, but I'm ok with what we got too. @OsmanthusTea LTG redeemed himself just a tiny bit at the end. I think he was still pretty careless. He needs to work on his inferiority complex, because he becomes impulsive every single time he feels this way. I like that YY doesn't hold back on telling him off. I'm glad he has her. @IpohBanana

When I think LTG has redeemed a little bit, he goes and does something stupid again. To drug Ruyi so he can marry her is low. I don't even have the words to describe how disgusted I am of him.
