  1. @abs-oluteM I was shocked myself! I wasn't expecting the twists either. In some ways, the writer's tactics are kind of gimmicky, but I'll applaud her for the wow factor and her ability to blindside us. LOL.
  2. LOL. It would be a train wreck for me if the show continued on with the mentally unstable and crazy. However, Yoon Young is out of the picture now (explained in the spoiler below). So, the train might be back on track now! Oh, which show of JSJ are you referring to? I might've skipped that one. Sisyphus was pretty bad, but I surprisingly finished it. I hardly drop thrillers/mysteries, but one that I could not finish was Mouse. That was bad for me. Totally understandable. Whenever you do continue watching this, do let us know your thoughts. I watched episode 11. If true, there is a major twist to this at the end. I'll put the major developments from episode 11 in a spoiler below. @abs-oluteM I'm curious to know what you will think about some of this.
  3. Oh, you've been watching! Last week's episodes were kind of frustrating. I'm hoping the remaining episodes will be better with more secrets revealed and questions answered. I agree that the storyline isn't cohesive and it's unfortunate we can't connect with the female lead. Despite her, I thought the mystery started off decent, but then it got off track with the romance and over-the-top crazy characterization of Yoon Young, even Woo Jae sometimes. I'll finish this though because I want to know more about what happened in the past in Mueon, Lee Na Ri and Zeus. Also, I'm curious to know if Mo Hyung Taek and Woo Jae's father's had a hand in Jung Won's father's death. If you continue watching, see you around here? LOL.
  4. You're just taking a pause, right? You'll be back on this train wreck with us? LOL. I've been amazed that @abs-oluteM is still watching with me. She's been saying it, but it's finally registering with me that the motivation is her two VIP oppas. LOL. I might be spoiling you... Only read if you want to know what was revealed about this so far: This was my original theory but my spoiler above will answer otherwise at this point. Zeus gave Jung Won tips that lead her to the 2 ladies' crime scenes so I'm still waiting to see how he fits into this picture. My theory is also that he's Lee Na Ri's younger brother who is trying to seek justice for her. Seems like the police and media (Jung Won's boss) might've took part in the cover up. Zeus doesn't seem like a "bad" person though. Just seems to be on a mission to reveal the truth, likely through Jung Won. I agree. I like JSJ and he's doing a great job as Woo Jae, but it's difficult to see his character being irrational like this. Jung Won will be asking for a divorce in the next episode. abs-oluteM and I are hoping he'll agree to it. Yes. Her lack of expressions and emoting totally misses the marks! I kept thinking there'll be improvement but no! I thought of Lee Yoo Young because I enjoyed her in The Lies Within. She did really well with the emotional and suspenseful scenes. I'll have to look up her upcoming project, but yeah, I'm not a fan of the big age gaps either. It's difficult to buy into the chemistry.
  5. @mademoiselle What a pleasant surprise to see you here. Since you started it, you must stay on this ride with us. LOL. I enjoyed the show up to episode 6 but it got annoying after it. 16 episodes might be the problem. It leaves too much room for nonsense. You'll find out who Zeus is halfway. I am curious to see how he's linked to everything. I like JSJ and YWJ here, but I am not sure KHN fits the female lead role. Don't know why but I keep thinking Lee Yoo Young would've been great here acting-wise, but she deserves a better role than this. Jung Won, as a female lead and reporter, lacks basic common sense. Anyway, stay with us!
  6. I'm relieved that I was not the only one who felt the romance was out of place. Yes, it was unrealistic that Tae Heon was not disciplined at all for acting out of procedures. To be honest, I was disappointed in him for that, but oh well now. There's so much to look pass in this drama. LOL. This was an interesting twist. I knew there was something odd about Mo's daughter, but I wouldn't have guessed that she killed under Yoon Young's manipulation. I wonder if there's more to their family secret or if that was really it. I agree. I think the rest of the show will shift the focus to the past in Mujin and will reveal the truth behind the fire. We'll find out all of Mo Hyung Taek's dirty deeds. Woo Jae's father too. Aside from them, I still think Woo Jae might have some skeletons in his closet as well and his father covered up. Otherwise, I don't understand what their cryptic talk about sins that need to be forgiven could be. There might be more to Lee Na Ri's death. We shall see... Woo Jae is not a psychopathic killer, but I do think he's emotionally unstable. I'm worried of how he'll take the divorce news. Hopefully, well. He should let her go for the sake of both of them. - - - - - - - I hope the remaining episodes will get the mystery plotline back on track. Some things I still want to know... 1. Jung Won's father - We can take a good guess of who might've killed him, but why exactly? 2. Who is the father of Cha Eun Sae's baby? My early guess was the Mo Hyung Taek. 3. Zeus is Jung Won's hoobae, Lee Da Reun. In the preview, it showed a photo of Lee Na Ri with a young boy. Could Zeus be her younger brother who is seeking justice for her? 4. Why did Tae Heon's partner say bad things about Jung Won as he was dying? What could be the misunderstanding? Who killed him? 5. Why did Tae Heon's former supervisor quit as a detective and became Woo Jae's father's secretary?
  7. @mademoiselle Thanks for the tag! Despite what we went through last with Grid, I'll eventually get to Blood Free. I do like Ju Ji Hoon and will always give Lee Soo Yeon's projects a chance. (I'm currently watching Nothing Uncovered, Hide and finally started on Queen of Tears so I'll need to find some time for this one.)
  8. @abs-oluteM I’ve been watching but there’s lots of eye-rolling when the show focuses on the romance. I mean, I have nothing against it, but I think crime/detective plotlines fare better when any kind of romance at all is subtle or just hinted. But here, there’s cheating and crossing lines of cheating. I really did not like Jung Won and Tae Heon’s romantic moment in ep 9. I also did not like how Tae Heon’s decisions as a detective were swayed by his feelings for Jung Woon. I get that he trusts her, but I rather he follow police procedures when he received those “incriminating” photos but do all he can to prove she’s innocent to release her. Ep 10 was a little better. Since Jung Won’s presence at Cha Eun Sae’s murder scence has been resolved, I hope the worst (of stupidity) is over. Not sure if you watched this week's episodes yet so I'll hold off from discussing major developments on the mystery front, but you were on track about your intuition on Yoon Young and Mo's daughter.
  9. Bummer. Looks like I might be a lone watcher on this one. Lots happened but in summary… Jung Won and Tae Heon went to Mueon city to investigate. Originally they went separately but ran into each other there. Jung Won obtained a video copy of Cha Eun Sae’s consultation with the psychiatrist. Through this, she learned Woo Jae and the psychiatrist had a high school classmate, Lee Na Ri. So, Jung Won went to Mueon to visit their high school and the principal said Lee Na Ri died in the chemical plant fire. Based on Cha Eun Sae’s consultation, I think it’s possible Woo Jae might’ve killed Lee Na Ri back in high school. This would make sense why his father asked him if he killed Cha Eun Sae. If Woo Jae did kill Lee Na Ri, his father likely covered it up with the help of Moo Hyung Taek. Also, if this is Woo Jae’s secret, it would explain why he’s mentally unstable. A guilty conscience would do it. Somehow the psychiatrist might be involved in this too. It was revealed that she has something on him and he has something on her as well. She is definitely wacko. Tae Heon went to Mueon to investigate the dead housekeeper’s husband who was the chemical plant manager. He met the husband’s sister and it was revealed that he died in the same year of the fire. Seems like like he was a scapegoat to take blame for the fire. I think Mo Hyung Taek might’ve helped Woo Jae’s father cover up the true cause of the fire. We also learned why Tae Heon resented Jung Won. In a flashback, when his partner was dying, he told Tae Heon that Jung Won was only dating him to investigate a case. He likely believed it because Jung Won was there at this scene. In present time, he finds out that Jung Won only started investigating his partner after they already dated and realized he misunderstood her. Episode ended with Tae Heon wanting to know why Jung Won didn’t explain herself back then. To me, it seemed like he didn’t give her a chance to. He was already set in blaming her. I think the misunderstanding is getting cleared now so they could start trusting each other again and truly investigate together. It’s unclear if Tae Heon’s partner was corrupted or not. Back then, Jung Won got a tip while she and Tae Heon were visiting her father at his columbarium. Then, she went off to investigate this. Another interesting thing is Woo Jae’s father secretary was a detective and Tae Heon’s former supervisor. He and Tae Heon seem close. We’ll see if the secretary and Tae Heon’s partner are also connected to the crimes.
  10. I'm glad you are still watching this. My impression is Woo Jae and the psychiatrist's relationship is not romantic. She appears to be manipulating and controlling him. I think you may be right that she has something on him. He's hiding something and I don't think it's just cheating. The politician's daughter who is also the cafe owner seems odd too. I wonder why Woo Jae caused a scene at her shop and the real reason why she didn't report it. Yes, it was the fact that Zeus was concerned if Jung Won would continue her show made me think s/he could be the mastermind. I noticed the young male reporter on her team had a similar concern so I wonder if he could be connected to Zeus. Unfortunately, Jung Won's character is not executed well. I know her actions are for the sake of the plot, but her lack of common sense does not make her look good to viewers as female lead and star reporter. We'll see if this mistake with the psychiatrist will knock some sense in her and she will be smarter going forward. Fingers crossed. I hope the investigative track gets more exciting when she works with Tae Heon.
  11. In episode 5 preview, I noticed that it’s connecting a handful of characters to the city of Mueon, except Jung Won. Circling back to the first episode, when the detectives were going through the dead housekeeper’s house, they found a scrapbook collection of news articles on the assemblyman, Mo Hyung Taek (who was previously a prosecutor) and a chemical plant fire that took place in 2009, which killed 12 and injured 2 people. The housekeeper’s husband also died in 2009. Some thoughts came into mind… Did the housekeeper’s husband die in the the chemical plant fire? Woo Jae’s father is a businessman. Could the chemical plant have belonged to him? When Mo Hyung Taek was a prosecuter back then, could he have aided the chemical plant to not face criminal charges? Jung Won’s father was also a reporter. Was he murdered while trying to uncover some kind of truth about the chemical plant fire? Could a mastermind (maybe a survivor of the fire or descendant) be plotting some kind of revenge related to this? Maybe Zeus? Just some guesses, but I think cheating and killing is just scratching the surface so far.
  12. @abs-oluteM Episodes 3 and 4 were released at the same time in my region so I was able to watch them together last night. Woo Jae’s character is so twisty! Now there’s evidence that he cheated with Eun Sae. When you get to episode 4, it is suggested that he's cheating with one more woman. (Someone whom you were already suspicious of.) It looks like we can check off the “cheater” box for him. Call me crazy, but I have a strange inkling that there’s more to this and he could be up to or part of something bigger. So, let’s see if there'll be a plot twist! Even if he's a cheater, I agree that he may not be the murderer for the same reasons that you mentioned. Also, it’s interesting that Eun Sae predicted she would die. I think it’s key that Woo Jae isn’t the father of her baby. Tae Heon is tough on the surface, but I think he’s coping with some emotional issues relating to his deceased partner and Jung Won. Based on one of their conversations, their fallout is related to Tae Heon’s deceased partner and a previous case. To me, his actions show that he still has unresolved romantic feelings for her, but there’s also resentment. Let’s see how he’ll stay within the professional lines because of this. Too bad not all episodes are out because I am entertained so far and really want to know more. To my surprise, on top of the mystery, I am enjoying the tension between Jung Won/Woo Jae and Jung Won/Tae Heon. LOL.
  13. @abs-oluteM Misty is a hard one to follow-up to. Still early, but if we are to compare, development of the characters and their complicated relationships was great from the start in Misty. I especiallly liked the slow-burn development of husband in Misty. Here, husband is suspicious in the first 2 episodes so it's kind of no fun if he is the "villain". We'll see though. In general, I feel crime/mystery dramas aren't as good as they used to be, but I'll watch if there's enough content to keep me wondering about the outcome and of course, any plot twists! Of the main leads, I only knew Jang Seung Jo going into it. First impressions of Kim Ha Neul is okay so far. Yeon Woo Jin is growing on me. Hopefully, we'll see chemistry when they need to work together. Right now, they seem to have a thorn in their heart from something in the past. Aside from the leads, I really want to know who is Zeus and what is his agenda!
  14. @Chocolate Do give it a try for the suspense! Finished ep 2. Female lead's straining marriage with husband and reuniting with ex-boyfriend detective are turning out to be interesting angles to the story. I want to know more of her past with the detective. His demeanor toward her is mixed. He's cold to her most of the times and why could be related to his deceased detective colleague who female lead knew too. But, whenever she's in danger, I can see that he still cares about her. My thoughts about the husband shaping up to be a cheater/murderer...
  15. @abs-oluteM I agree female lead is not so smart to be going to strange places alone at night and touching obvious dead bodies. Other than that, I've watched up to half of ep 2 and like it for the suspense. In addition to the husband, there's a handful of questionable people like the politician, father in law and mysterious informant. It's interesting to me how they'll connect in unfolding the mystery. With my experience from Misty and Trolley, I wouldn't be surprised if the husband is a cheater and murderer. Of course though, I always have this tiny bit of hope for a twist to a twist that he's not. Only because the father in law didn't approve their marriage and seems to want them to separate. So, I wonder if he has a hand in the murders and wanting to sabotage female lead. Also, could he have something to do with the female lead's father's death? JSJ is partly why I'm watching this. His profession as a mystery writer makes his character more interesting to the whole story. But, I'm also a sucker for a cop/detective so I'm liking YWJ's character as well. I understand he's the female lead's ex-boyfriend so it'll also be interesting to see them work together. 16 episodes are a lot to fill so let's see how this show holds up.
  16. Since you recommend too, I will watch Queen of Tears. I think my mom might be watching this already. She likes Kim Soo Hyun. LOL. I last saw him in Moon Embracing the Sun so a long time ago. I do like Kim Ji Won and Park Sung Hoon. Sorry, I meant JSJ for actor, Jang Seung Jo. Looks like I need to upgrade to Viki Plus to watch Nothing Uncovered. Same. I hope Park Hyung Sik's next project will be a another good one and for Yoon Park to have more likable roles. I think we were spoiled by Jeong Woo and Dae Young so we'll see! ------ Looks like more wedding photos were released
  17. Likely Nothing Uncovered for the mystery and JSJ. Since you recommend Queen of Tears though, I will try to find time to watch this too. I thought the same! He looks especially handsome with straight hair. I'm going to miss him/Jeong Woo so much. Totally agree with you. Both guys are lovable in their own unique/special ways. I'm happy the drama made them at par with each other in this sense. It took some time for Yoon Park to eventually get his deserved screen time, but it was worth the wait. Writer did a great job with his character as a quirky NeoTuber, single parent struggling to understand his teenage daughter, petty best friend and romantic partner. LOL. I loved that in the end, he was happy knowing Hong Ran liked him exactly as he is. I thought it was good closure for him.
  18. I think I got everything that I wanted in the finale. Proposal. Jeong Woo finding family with Ha Neul’s. So sweet where she told him that she wanted him to join her family. It was just as precious as his proposal. A new and healthier Ha Neul. Unlike her old self, I love that she is telling herself to express how she feels inside going forward. Although it might not change anything, it allows her to get upset for a moment and move past it. She has her peace. Jeong Woo officially overcoming his PTSD and re-opening his clinic. How great of him to invite Dr. Kang, someone he trusts, to work with him again. Dae Young and Hong Ran’s “family” photo with their kiddos. Dae Young is happy Hong Ran likes him just the way he is. Exactly how we see him on his NeoTube channel. LOL. For Hong Ran, this warmhearted man will have a happy life with someone just like him. No wedding but we got wedding photos, which were gorgeous! Lovely story. I think the epilogue summed the plot the best. To show that we could be happy today and suddenly sad tomorrow, but it’s okay… If there’s sadness, there will always be happiness as well. The characters figured this out and found the strength to endure sadness and misfortune. And, that was enough. I’m happy Jeong and Ha Neul finally caught their sunrise that they originally missed in the beginning. Very poetic. I will miss this show immensely.
  19. Yes, I agree. It was the final straw to realizing how terrible his mother was. He was disappointed, but it also seemed like he actually drew a line between him and his parents, which was why he basically rejected to see them. Kyung Min did have great potential so I agree it's unfortunate that he was essentially his own worst enemy and took a wrong path in his life. Based on the flashbacks, it seemed Kyung Min wanted to be in Jeong Woo’s parents good favor as their high positions could benefit his career. I thought this was why he succumbed to Jeong Woo’s mother’s pressure to not meet his father and why did he not tell Jeong Woo about his father’s death. So, as much as I would like to think his sincerity to Jeong Woo was genuine, I don't think he would've been completely honest with him as propelling his career was more important. Regardless, I do think Kyung Min’s character ended up being good storytelling in showing us that not everything is black and white, which is why viewers feel both hate and pity for him. In a way, one can stretch and say that he did try to prevent the medical accident by sending a note to the nurse who was involved in the plan to administer a lower dosage of anticoagulants (heparin) and maybe it would not have caused excessive bleeding. The thing is, based on the trial, heparin wasn't supposed to be used during the surgery at all. It was planted at his clinic. I love Jeong Woo - he's such an admirable guy. PHS did an excellent job bringing him to life. I really hope that we do get a proposal and wedding too. My preference would be to see Hong Ran and Dae Young's daughter meet each other before the parents get together, but however it will happen, I am looking forward to it. His confession was adorably sweet so I am curious how they'll make it official. I can't remember the details of Dae Young's divorce, but I believe it had to do with his high maintenance/wealthy in-laws and it did happen during the time of his residency.
  20. @mademoiselle @abs-oluteM About Kyung Min, you ladies are kinder than me. I did feel moments of sympathy for him during the flashbacks, but I can't bring myself to truly feel sorry for him overall. Jeong Woo's mom was terrible, but if Kyung Min's core/essence was any good, he would not have spiked Jeong Woo's drink, steal Ha Neul's dissertation and set-up the medical accident. If he had any regard for Jeong Woo, he would've backed off when he found out the target was Jeong Woo's clinic, but he didn't and ruined careers with no remorse. He only apologized to Jeong Woo when everything was revealed. So, any sorrow that I did feel momentarily for Kyung Min didn't last and dissipated quickly. I don't think Jeong Woo was at any fault for what happened to Kyung Min. I believe Kyung Min acknowledged this too. It was Jeong Woo's mom fault for not letting Jeong Woo know about the father's death. However, if he knew, would their friendship turned out differently? I didn't realize Jeong Woo's parents left Seoul already. I guess his decision to not take the opportunity to see them was his way of acknowledging that he will no longer be affected by them and doesn't need them. He is in control of his own life. I'm already sad this weekend is the finale. It has brought me some joy the past 2 months. I'll miss it and don't know what else can fill it.
  21. @abs-oluteM Her family is chaotic! Did you watch episode 14? Do you think we will get a proposal? I hope the end scene and preview isn’t just teasing us. Would it be asking too much for a wedding as well? LOL. This is true and I agree. If you choose forgive, forgive on your own will and timing. One of my favorite scenes from today was Jeong Woo’s talk with Ha Neul’s mother. He continues to have a tough time processing his emotions about Kyung Min’s death. He still holds good memories of their past but also a lot of hurt from the present. I liked how Ha Neul’s mother comforted him and provided some advice. If Jeong Woo chooses to forgive, do it for no one else but himself because hate and resentment is exhausting. In my opinion, it is poison in one’s heart. For example, Kyung Min had a close bond with Jeong Woo, but the hate that grew inside him ruined all that was good. Anyway, I think the writing does an excellent job expressing the leads’ thoughts and feelings through the dialogue. Here, Jeong Woo’s conflicted emotions about Kyung Min were done well. I liked it that it was the mom who consoled him this time and during a family trip setting. Mom is a sweetheart. One definitely scores to have her as a mother-in-law. So, Jeong Woo’s parents happen to come back to Seoul exactly when he was proven innocent. Such great timing, right? I hope we do get to see them meet up. I am not expecting any kind of warm family reunion, but it seems Jeong Woo is beginning to accept that his parents (especially his mother) aren’t the supporting/stick by your kid type. The opposite of Ha Neul’s family. I just want him to officially recognize this and move on to build his own loving family. Last but not least, Dae Young and Hong Ran continue to be so cute, but let’s get together already. I found it funny when it was about time for Dae Young to leave Hong Ran’s place, but she suddenly tells him she has lots of tea bags so he should stay for some tea. Then, Dae Young says in that case, he should help her out with the tea bags. OMG LOL. Okay, so I do really want them to get together, but a part of me also wants Hong Ran to meet Dae Young’s daughter first. Seems like they will make it official soon so let’s see! From here on, I think the remaining episodes will focus on the leads’ rebuilding their careers and forming their lives together. I would love a conflict-free finale weekend! Here's my favorite funny scene from today's episode. You know, the usual petty Jeong Woo
  22. What an emotional episode…Jeong Woo-ah! Due to the accident, it started off a bit angsty with Ha Neul’s family and Jeong Woo not knowing the extent of her injuries and when she will wake up. Thankfully, the show didn’t prolong her unconscious state - she eventually woke up. What warmed my heart was how Jeong Woo took care of Ha Neul’s family during this time. He comforted them (especially mom) while he was scared himself. If I were Ha Neul, knowing how natural Jeong Woo was at this would make me love him even more. As for the couple, what can I say, but I love their pattern of easily resolving misunderstandings through honest and thoughtful communication. Their timing of telling each other "I love you" was perfect. But, I think my favorite part was Jeong Woo finally receiving Ha Neul’s letter from high school. It was beautiful how words lost from the past found them in the present and comforted them through challenging times. Then, Jeong Woo and Kyung Min’s back story took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting such a strong and close bond between them in the past. It seemed like Kyung Min truly adored Jeong Woo so it’s unfortunate that Kyung Min’s self-loathing and resentment destroyed it. If I understood his reasons correctly, he resented Jeong Woo because of his ability to remain cheerful/happy despite a strict and cold upbringing. It was something that Kyung Min couldn’t do for himself. The resentment was cemented by the death of his father. He couldn’t meet his father due to pressure from Jeong Woo’s mother to remain at their house to tutor Jeong Woo. At the end of the day, it was his decision to not go to his father, but if he were to blame someone, it was definitely not Jeong Woo. When Kyung Min died, it was heartbreaking to see Jeong Woo hurt and crying with the suit that Kyung Min had bought him. He must’ve felt torn with so many emotions – both love and hate. Of course, I can’t end the post without talking about Hong Ran and Dae Young. It was meant to be for Dae Young to get his kalguksu with Hong Ran. LOL. Seriously though, I really liked Hong Ran for opening-up about her past marriage and divorce. I feel it’s important for them to know each other’s past and if they accept/respect it, it’s taking a huge step forward together. It was lovely how they came to the restaurant with separate umbrellas but left under one umbrella together. The idea of shielding from the storm together made me smile. Needless to say, I really liked this episode. PHS' portrayal of Jeong Woo is perfection!
  23. LOL. They must've been so exhausted filming this whole scene. It turned out well though. All was hilarious but the stethoscope as nunchucks and Jeong Woo kicking away Dae Young in his chair got me rolling 🤣. I'm going to miss these two guys.
  24. I agree. I believe Dae Young also hesitated to reach out to Jeong Woo at first because he thought Kyung Min was another "hyung" who was able to comfort him during the trial. Dae Young thought Jeong Woo didn't need him, but obviously, Kyung Min's sincerity was all a lie. He probably broke in the clinic. I can't wait to find out what is in the recording! When Ha Neul met the reporter, he mentioned something about them being linked to gangsters in Macau. Maybe the connection isn't directly related to the pharmaceuticals company or casino but rivalry of some sort of illegal business? LOL. I've been enjoying everything despite some things thrown at us, but I won't like noble idiocy in the last episodes. So, let's really hope not!
