How come not many people watch this ah, @abs-oluteM? I thought it is a breathe of fresh air from all of the law theme dramas!

I really enjoyed the starting episodes, but I'm behind by a lot of episodes now. I think it's mostly because it starting feeling as if it was not going to be a light-hearted rom-com, but rather an angsty melo instead.

I probably will finish watching this drama at some point, mostly because I really like GKP and the rest of the cast, however, I'm wondering if I should wait till it finishes then binge it so that I can skip parts that I don't want to watch?

And now that I know that JH's ex is showing up...

What a mess! 😆 I wonder how they’re going to get out of the scandal from the pictures released by the paparazzi. I tried to think but I cannot come out with any excuse or scenario to explain those pictures. From the preview it seems alright though since SE can still laugh so freely. I can’t wait to see the sofa kiss 😍 Looks steamy just from the preview bit alone.

The kiss was good! I really hate that ex-wife. Why is she so full of herself, thinking Ji Ho would hire a wife to get back at her... I love how Ji Ho is so annoyed and indifferent with her and not even want to waste his time with her. Seriously this actress needs to stop playing such roles.

I thought Madam Yoo in the beginning wanted to make up to Sang Eun but turns out she is still trying to marry her into Gangjin Group. Although it was hard not to misunderstand seeing Sang Eun with Hae Jin like that.

LOL at her... 7 years, and the guy never tried once to look for her. She was the one who came over and looking for ways to be close.

SE is too kind. Every time Yoo same on screen, I can’t help but think she should just stay in prison 🙄

I just find it odd, plot wise, that Jamie had not met her adoptive family once until the marriage meeting, such that she should so suddenly snap at that point. From the flashbacks it would appear she literally got off the plane and first appointment was the wedding meet. Seems sudden and extreme. She literally wouldn’t know who’s who nor would she have experienced any trauma prior for a trigger. Does anyone else feel that way about this?

True. But she was probably educated as to who is who using photographs by Madam Yoo. Her snapping is more because something happened between her and KHJ's brother outside of the room. One commenter brought up that in her flashback monologue, they were both coming from outside of the room. She was initially all smiles and courteous to the people in the room upon arrival, then later came back into the room looking angry while the brother came back looking so smug. She was probably sexually assaulted by the brother outside. Notice in beginning of ep.11 that before she shoved the spaghetti in his face, she grabbed his ass and pinched it real hard. That's probably what he did to her.

I thought ending of ep.10 was a mess to settle. Ending of ep.11 was even a bigger mess that needs to be sorted out :nervous: O gosh... we should've known it's not gonna be easy for them to be together. We're still at ep.11 after all. Please no noble idiocy in this show please.... That said, the kiss in ep.11 is one of the best making-out scenes I've ever watched :heart::wow: I got goosebumps twice while watching it. I never thought I would ever be mad at Gwang Nam but yes, I'm so mad that he called at such wrong timing

Their second kiss is really good. It's the third kiss scene I've seen where the actress sits on the actor's lap and kiss. Very well-done and natural. It's rare since it's quite intimate as the actress' body gets too near to the actor's X. But Kdrama is getting more open to this hehehe.

Anyway, back to the storyline...

That ex-wife needs to disappear! :pandarage: She had better NOT request Ji Ho to pay her back by breaking up with Sang Eun and getting back with her.

I was really touched at the part where Gwang Nam went to see Ji Ho at the court. Touched that he enlighten us that Ji Ho wanted to save Sang Eun and tie her to his register so that she didn't have to go through divorce again. Touched that Gwang Nam loves Sang Eun in his own way and asks Ji Ho to save her from Madam Yoo.

I thought Ji Ho has such a big heart for respecting Sang Eun's profession. By this, I meant he was being very understanding of Sang Eun's situation and is willing to let her continue playing lovers with Kang Hae Jin in public. For Sang Eun's sake, I was also glad that he was there to comfort Sang Eun when she was sitting in the cafe alone. I also love that she appears at the birthday party with a gift as she knew Ji Ho wouldn't have prepared one. It's these little moment that made it sweet and touching.

I hope what Ji Ho did for Sang Eun in the background doesn't upset her though. I know he meant well but I'm just not sure if she'll be OK with it. And I obviously hope the potential car accident isn't going to happen coz then it'd be too old school kdrama-ish.

I'm sorry for Kang Hae Jin's heartbreak and I'm starting to be unsure what is his role in this storyline. I am thankful that he didn't join hands with evil ex-wife and mess up the main couple's relationship. I wish he would stand up to his family and free himself once and for all soon because it's tiresome watching him letting his mum throws tantrums. I need him to man up. Take his mum with him or something! I knew he was never going to be the endgame and I didn't warm up to his character but at times, I do enjoy watching him being a friend to Sang Eun more than him trying to court her so I hope that is what they will be in the finale.

Echoing your comments above 😊 Love the scenes at cafe and restaurant. I love the way Ji Ho hugged her from the side in both these scenes.

I enjoyed episode 13 😊. There were a good mixture of everything and more importantly, no angst between Ji Ho and Sang Eun. And I love the little considerate gesture/action Ji Ho did behind Sang Eun's back, like asking to be discharged early because he didn't want Sang Eun to hide in public etc., or suggest they sleep with their doors open so Madam Yoo would not worried they were doing anything naughty but LOL, the show should should show us whether they were caught anyway in the morning.

I was kind of hoping Madam Yoo will realise Sang Eun was truly happy when she's with Ji Ho but it didn't quite seem that way. I also thought she might approve of his profession as a judge but turns out she still think he's not good enough. Tsk. Nonetheless I think with that "talk" with Ji Ho, she feels Ji Ho's sincerity in wanting to protect Sang Eun and because he loves her, he wants Madam Yoo safe and well too.

I was a little surprise she turns out to be Sang Eun's birth mother. I mean, the show did sprinkle it as a "rumour" that Madam Yoo was the Ina Group's President's mistress but I didn't take it seriously plus Sang Eun did say her parents died and she grew up in the orphange. And mainly because I just couldn't imagine such an arrogant Madam Yoo being someone's mistress. That said, it didn't seem so hard to believe because she's so desperately wanting Sang Eun accepted into Ina Group. It makes sense if Sang Eun is the illegitimate daughter.

Kim Jae Young did a really good holding-up-his-tears scene when he was on the phone with Sang Eun. I really really really want him to start living his own life now but it seems like the writer is determined to make him a sacrificial lamb for Sang Eun all the way. This time he decides to go back to Kangjin Group as means to protect Sang Eun and his mother. Well, I hope he wins and also get his life back in the finale. But honestly, I can't like his mother and question her love since she too wants to sacrifice her son's life for a business marriage.

Here is to hope Sang Eun doesn't give in to Seon Jin's proposal. Eww. Yuck.

Episode 14 Pre-release

This is so true to a random video clip I saw online about introvert and extrovert. The man said introvert wakes up with full coins (aka. energy) and after they get home, they have no coins left because they lose coins. Extrovert is the total opposite. They wake up with no coins and as they socialise they gain coins.

So he said at a party, an introvert like him will take an extrovert with him so the extrovert can do all the talking and he'll just eat the cheese . I'm totally seeing this in Ji Ho and Sang Eun. In this scene, she does all the socialising, praising and boosting Ji Ho's reputation and all Ji Ho needs to do is eat and look cute . I am totally loving the last part where Ji Ho totally freezes up with that bulging cheek. :lmao2:

@mademoiselle I don't know why I didn't see it coming that Madam Yoo was SE's mother!!! I am disappointed in myself for not foreseeing this trope like from a million miles away especially when I watch so many makjang melodramas :idk:. It makes sense now ( more anyway ) why Madam Yoo was so obsessed with wanting to get SE to marry into KangJin group. The typical obsession of some kdrama mothers for their children to marry up the social ladder to secure the future. Kind of like Hae Jin's mum too.

As to my dearest Hae Jin - TBH, if this wasn't played by JaeYoung, I may have a lot less interest in the character. His character kept going back and forth as if the writer is just conveniently using him to move the plot. Actually if I think about it given another drama, Hae Jin's backstory is very much that of a main lead - so he could have very well had his own love line without the need for this non-existent love triangle. There was no triangle as SE never even considered him from the start. My only happiness from his scenes is that I am seeing KJY in a lighter character than his past work ( which were super heavy emotional roles)

This thread echoes my thoughts

Spoiler

The end game for Hae Jin ...but really this scene broke my heart.

@abs-oluteM I'm not so sure about Hae Jin's approach on giving up acting and going home is what he really wants. We know he's tried to "stay away" in means to "protect" his mother and doing his step-brother a favour by not being in the way of being the heir. But now he's forced himself to go home and such act also is in the form of "protecting" Sang Eun.

I would need to see how it goes for his character because from another perspective, with the reason of wanting to protect Sang Eun, he's decided to stop running away and plucking up the courage to confront his demons - family issues. Honestly, we haven't been told why he is traumatised about something he saw in the past, have we? I thought something big happend at home relating to his mother that he hates being there...

I actually thought he might have witnessed some heinous crimes his brother committed... which I wouldn't even be surprised or something the brother did to his mother etc., but it didn't seem like that at all.

I'm actually hoping Madam Yoo isn't the birth mother. It felt so makjang all of a sudden. LOL. Aiye.

I though this was because his mum was always drunk and he saw his brothers not so secretly make fun of that. But perhaps the brothers did something bad ...not surprising if that is the case since no one in that family seems likeable.

It isn't very convincing if it was only seeing his mum drunk all the time and his brother making fun of that would traumatise him so I was expecting something worst :idk:

Episode 14

Ok, one good thing Hae Jin went home is Kim Jae Young looks absolutely dashing in suit and the hairstyle, approved! 😁

I'm a little tiny bit concerned about the document named "Jamie" he has on his desk. We only have two episodes left, there's really no time for any angst so I hope whatever he's planning doesn't go against the decision Ji Ho makes i.e. not punishing Madam Yoo. This side-story is a bit hard to predict for me.

And yes, why do I get the vibe that the Show is trying to force the loveline between him and Ji Ho's ex! No no nooooo!

I was "WOW" by the Show having the leads acting out Sang Eun's imagination. Sizzling hoooot! Other than this, it's just really cute seeing Ji Ho and Sang Eun interacts. And boy I'm glad that the ex's favour is just a meal. Phew! But if I were Ji Ho, I wouldn't have given the alimony back.

Gwang Nam... I thought he's going to be a singer! But why does he still want to go to Canada? Just because over there he can live freely as his true self? I didn't expect this twist since I thought Hae Jin has left his acting career, Gwang Nam might become the next talent for the agency.
