[Based on the best selling Japanese novel, "Tabiya Okaeri" (旅屋おかえり) by Harada Maha (原田マハ)]

 

 

“I Will Travel For You” depicts the story of Kang Yeo Reum( played by Gong Seung Yeon),   a former idol who has never been the center in her life, and her journey to find true success and the meaning of life as a travel reporter who goes on trips on behalf of others. The drama captures beautiful sceneries of various travel destinations and provides heartwarming stories and healing for viewers. Kang Yeo Reum is a former girl group member who has now been a reporter for a travel program called “One Day Travel” for five years. Despite being known as the icon of positivity and optimism at work, Kang Yeo Reum hides anxiety about the future behind her happy façade.

 

Oh Sang Sik (played by Yoo Jun Sang)  is the CEO of Ogu Entertainment, the agency that Kang Yeo Reum is signed to. Born as the youngest son of a family of doctors, Oh Sang Sik went through a lot of ups and downs in his life, from being a boxer to a CEO of an entertainment company. Feeling responsible for bringing Yeo Reum into the entertainment industry, Sang Sik has maintained a close relationship with her for over 15 years.

 

In the show, Lee Yeon-seok, played by Kim Jae-young, quits working for a large company after 1 year even though he graduated in engineering  at a prestigious university, and chose to study film. He makes a living with various part-time jobs, including being an editing assistant for a broadcasting station, while studying. As an engineering student, he is strong with numbers, but surprisingly, he has the sensitivity of a film director and likes the hidden stories contained in the frame. As Lee Yeon-seok is in charge of editing the travel programme hosted by Kang Ye-reum (played by Gong Seung-yeon), the curiosity grows as to how their special relationship will lead.

This drama has been on the shelf since 2023 - he filmed it that long ago. His agency said this drama is to commemorate some big celebration marking the diplomatic relationship between SK and Japan this year - the show is based on a Japanese novel.

 

Anyway our dear dear Jaeyoung is booked and busy. He's currently filming a drama called Liar Lawyer with Choi Soo Young. Will air on ENA in last quarter of 2026. The synopsis (later when more info I will open thread)..quite a cute premise.

Do Ra Ik (KJY)  grew up with his mother, a cabaret singer, without knowing who his father was. One day, he sang in the cabaret instead of his mother, caught the attention of an entertainment CEO and debuted in a five-member idol boy group ‘Guardians'. He rises to fame with his striking looks and undeniable talent, however, his career takes a shocking turn when the group’s leader and his close friend is found murdered in his home. Determined to uncover the truth, Do Ra Ik abandons his idol persona and reinvents himself as ‘Idol Eye’.

 

Maeng Se Na (CSY) , a top star criminal lawyer who has been a fangirl for 15 years, tries to prove her favorite idol’s innocence who is suspected of the murder case.

BUT....the one that amused me was this other drama that he's being courted for that should also star Nam Ji Hyun ( 100 Days My Prince siblings reunion)  The synopsis - I had a good laugh. Let's see how 18+ this can be

I think the person pays for them to travel on their behalf. Definitely fake ...if got, I will quit my job and do this

Third teaser

 

The 3rd teaser, released on the 17th, heightens curiosity by showing the unconventional beginning of Oh Goo Entertainment, a company on the verge of collapse, transforming into Summer, a specialized travel agency for proxy trips.

 

Kang Yeoreum (played by GongSeungYeon), a travel show reporter, is suddenly offered a job as a proxy traveler and exclaims, “An American living in the U.S. wants me to travel in their place? Does that even make sense?”—unable to hide her bewilderment. However, in response to Yeoreum’s concern, Oh Sang-sik (played by YooJunSang), CEO of Oh Goo Entertainment, casually replies, “Well, it does,” eliciting laughter with his forced nonchalance. With the tagline “The most absurd trip begins,” the teaser symbolically shows Yeoreum standing at a rainy bus terminal, marking the start of a new journey.

 

The contrast between her anxious expression as she steps off the bus and Lee Yeon-seok’s (played by KimJaeYoung) excited narration—“Summer, the premier proxy travel agency”—builds anticipation for what lies ahead as Oh Goo Entertainment shifts from an idol company to a travel business. The teaser then introduces the quirky members of Summer, the newly rebranded proxy travel agency. Despite setbacks, Yeoreum grows resilient, showcasing both flustered charm and bold determination as the agency’s “golden rookie.”

 

CEO Sang-sik, a former boxer, vents his frustration by punching an old sandbag but defiantly declares, “I may be broke, but I’m not dreamless!”—proving his unwavering romanticism. Yeon-seok, introduced as “Mr. Straightforward,” bluntly asks Sang-sik, “So, you failed?” yet warmly encourages Yeoreum with, “Just keep moving forward- no matter what,” hinting at a budding romance. Yoo Ha-na (played by Hong Soo-hyun), shocked by the sudden career shift but steadfast as the CFO, charms with her trademark “fact bombs.” Finally, Hyun Baram (played by Oh Hyun-joong) steals the spotlight with unfiltered honesty- asking Sang-sik, “Wasn’t the lunch budget 10,000 won?”- and his eccentric “my way” attitude, like casually doing yoga in the office while stating, “I’m meditating.”
