Marriageable material too...  I wouldn't be able to work productively if I were in that setting.

Another setting is the having attractive and young teachers/lecturers, who can make us more enthusiastic to go to class. I have proven to have no such (both) luck

I can't believe it'll be airing this weekend already...I'm excited! I don't think I've seen LJH in a romantic role yet so it'll be a treat to see him in this. By the way, he seems a bit shy in real life? He and HJM are so cute in the Whenever Possible clip. Gonna try to find a subbed version of their episode.

I watched episode 1! I liked it. Lee Joon Hyuk is so handsome . It's nice to see him in suit and not being Seo Dong Jae.

 

From the long preview, I thought Han Ji Min was the one who got fired and started a company herself. Or, maybe this was her past. She works like a dog and has no life.

 

We get more of Lee Joon Hyuk's backstory first in this episode. I am loving the father figure set-up. And all the mothers swooning for him was so relatable (because I would, too!). He took a year off to care for her sick daughter, but his manager has no sympathy for it and bullied him. How horrible.

 

The workplace politics is also relatable, especially on how companies don't care about their employees. The bullying is a bit extreme, but I can see being in the HR department himself, there's probably no way he could "win" against the manager unless he reported him to the Fair Work agency. The manager literally set him up to be fired.

 

Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk started off on the wrong foot. He looked like he's walking on thin ice at the end of the episode, but decided to muster up the courage because he has bills to pay and needed to put food on the table for dear daughter. Since he's divorced, he probably also has to pay alimony to the ex.

 

I was hoping his wife is dead. This means there's a high possibility the ex-wife will come and wreak havoc later. Han Ji Min already has a love enemy from the get-go, another single mother who is their neighbour.

 

OCD me approves of his fridge and kitchen!

I liked the 1st episode too. It was a good intro to the cast and also we got his back story. LJH so handsome be it in a suit or in father mode. I think I will need a bowl for my drool in this entire series ahahahahah....

Will write more after I watch eps 2 - saw some cuts and I like what I saw. Found out how he ended up being employed as her secretary.

By the way, coffee lovers, pay special attention to episode 2 when Han Ji Min was observing Lee Joon Hyuk from the tea room. Is that a coffee machine behind her? That is huge! I have never seen one like that before! Sakai. And with a machine like that, she still wants coffee from outside. 🤨

 

I notice when Eun Ho is stressed, angry or challenged, he eats sweets. Hahaha!

 

I love the scene where his sunbae's wife found him. His dressing room, OMG, I need him. I can't help but pity him because he's got to lower his pride and dignity to go for a secretary job that is below what he could do, for survival. But, at least he is paid 1.5x more and gets to go home early, not that I think he could later after CEO accepts him. I see how Eun Ho is going to influence her now, with his background as a father–daughter thing. Haha, typical, she has daddy issue.

 

Not sure what Kang Ji Yun did that caused her previous company's CEO's death. I find it dramatic, since how often can an employee directly cause any harm to a higher up. It is always the higher-up that traumatise or abuse their subordinates in our normal life.

 

I think as a CEO, Kang Ji Yun's klutzy and disorganised shenanigans are really not impressive and hard to look up to. At the moment, she's like a burden to her team, especially Seo Mi Ae. It came across disrespectful how she treated Mi Ae like her personal assistant. Even if they are friends, it is not right. Just not ok.

The drama is refreshing and so much better than my expectation. When it just announced I was so excited because I like both leads respectively, then after see trailer I worry it will be too sweet. But so far they're like sworn enemy and it's been nice to see her start to warm up to him. She do have all the rights not to like him though. And I also like how he do a lot of things quietly and not bragging about it, to improve her life. 

 

I like her bachelor pad, it's normally designed for dominant male CEO in other dramas lols. When the drama was announced I was confused as who is the dominant CEO and it turned up to be HJM lols.

I agree with you, totally doesn't look professional. Also she just walk to enemy office in ep 2 almost fainted and she will be seen as weak if the gossip spread. Totally not a good move.

Yes my worry too. JY will definitely dropped him off if she saw them acting like a family unit outside. And not sure how JY able to adjust herself as Byeol's mom in future, I think it will be interesting to see. 

 

So far will stay tune and it seems promising. One thing note, I able to concentrate well watching this drama. Maybe LJH is handsome, maybe story and characters well presented. I don't know haha. For sure I love how K drama romcom now use middle aged actor and actresses, same as Love Your Enemy. As its proven the senior actor able to pull your heart string more and I find they can have more nuanced and subtle expression goes with their experience.

Yeah, I half expected her to be held outside by a secretary or something. Isn't it too easy to walk into another company and pass the reception (or security if it is in a building)? Makes no sense. Maybe her enemy let her in and just not shown.

At this moment, she's like a child herself, needing a babysitter to take care of her. Throwing tantrums and refusing to eat. Like you said, it is unprofessional.

Hahahaha! Isn't it because they are in their 30s, less than 40s. I don't think we would want to see seniors over 50s doing kissing or bed scenes. It'll feel like seeing our parents ... ahem.

Ladies, I really like this too. Not just from a romance perspective but LJH as a father is quite lovely. Such a good man overall.

 

My favorite moments between LJH and HJM so far were when he instinctively guided her in the dark and discretely protected her from hurting her head. And these are while their relationship is not set on the right footing. Can you imagine the swoon level of their scenes once the romance starts?

Yes! I appreciate the gender role reversal. It's refreshing to see a female lead as the prickly and tsundere CEO for a change. Usually, it's the male lead which is overdone.

Same! The husband and wife are cute. It was nice how they helped him land his new role. Though the level is below his true experience, I love his attitude toward it. It doesn't lower his confidence. Instead, he puts 100% and plus in it. Later, I do think his HR skills will come into play to help HJM and the company greatly. If I were to guess, he won't be a secretary by the end of the show.

Not as a fancy as the one in the show, but my work office have similar coffee machines. They can make handcrafted drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos and mochas. They were supposed to be one of the perks for employees when hybrid return to office was implemented years ago. LOL.

Ours invested in a new one last year, too, which uses Nespresso coffee pods. This one also can keep the milk cool. People used to leave milk overnight or over the weekend, and it became foul, the CFO gets very annoyed each time. So, I think that's why he bought one with a chiller. LOL! But I definitely have never seen such a big one like this before. Agreed, a coffee machine is a must in the office for a lot of people. The company also had a coffee truck over a few times to test it out, but there aren't that many people want to spend money on buying their own coffee, so the truck don't come anymore.

She's one prickly person and she's allowing her own emotional baggage to affect how she deals with people around her. I expect her to have a bit more grip but I think she's at the edge of losing herself and this company she's building if she continues to "punish" herself by not prioritizing her own health. Anyway this is why she needs a EunHo ahahahah. 

 

@ktcjdrama Even Han Ji Min said in one of those promo events they were doing that no such man like Eun Ho exists. So true. Like how does he juggle it all - men are not known for being great multitaskers.

I can deal with the prickly as this attribute is quite common with the male CEO trope, but I agree with you and others here that her lack of emotional control and self care does not look good on her part, especially as a leader at the highest level. I think we know Eun Ho is expected to soften her. Fingers crossed this process won't get dragged out. I mean, I can see why she'll fall in love with him. How and why will he fall for her? We need to see her good qualities.

Oh, I personally have an Nespresso machine (basic one using pods) at home and would much rather have this kind at the office than the bigger machines. Agree though that the one in the show is quite fancy. I wonder what brand it is. About the foul milk, it happens at my office too which I could never understand why some people don't know how to clean up after themselves. At first when you said coffee trucks, I thought you meant like the ones gifted to actors or actresses on drama sets and the drinks are free. LOL. But employees have to pay for them. I'm one of those employees who wouldn't want to regularly pay for coffee at work. I would say the Nespresso machine was a good choice.
