This one also looks quite dramatic and serious. Money Flower - I liked it but mainly cause of Jang Hyuk's performance. Heavy melodrama and the writer weaved a complex story - it was an MBC weekender so it dragged a bit. The revenge will be an elaborate one if the writer's style doesn't change. Hopefully here we have 16 episodes, so pace should be faster. I was worried about this being like The Impossible Heirs but I don't think it will be. After the 1st episode, I find it quite layered. I am on board to see him get his revenge - in the first episode he was betrayed on many levels - by the Daesan owner/ his boss ( who gave him the impression that he trusted him with his life) , by HJH's character (it was hinted HJH was his former mentor) and most painfully by his lover. Pre-released. Yes, Dong Ju make sure you get your revenge. 1 Mon-Tues: Head Over Heels Wed-Thurs: - Fri-Sat: Our Movie Sat-Sun: Daily: - C-drama: - The Princess Gambit, A Dream Within A Dream, In The Name of Blossom
mademoiselle Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Finally caught up with both episodes. I was hoping by episode 2, we would be at the stage where the plot summary tells us—Dong Joo came back for revenge. However, it seems we're still in the introduction stages. I find myself needing to digest the complicated relationship(s) of Daesan Group and Yeom Jang Sun's family. By mid-episode 1, I had a feeling Yeo Eun Nam is the granddaughter of Daesan Group, and voilà, I was right. To complicate things even further, her husband is Dong Joo's classmate and nephew of Yeom Jang Sun. I at first thought Dong Joo worked for Yeom Jang Sun because in the beginning he was communicating with Dong Joo, controlling the fate of the inquiry, but later I realised Dong Joo works for Daesan Group. Since Yeom Jang Sun is a law school professor, and Dong Joo is classmate with his nephew, my guess is he was Dong Joo's teacher in law school. As for Chairman Cha, the subtitles went too fast, so I didn't catch how he has an illegitimate son. He seems to genuinely trust Dong Joo and treasure his capabilities. But if he could cut out Dong Joo once, he could do it again, so he isn't entirely trustworthy. I reckon Dong Joo also played his moves well in this chessboard by maintaining his calm. And this won the Chairman back. P.S. I'm still unsure whether I like the drama. 1

He seems to genuinely trust Dong Joo and treasure his capabilities. At the bakery, there was a woman who came out after the son left on the bike to go out with his friends. I think he had a fling with the woman and but she didn't want his involvement and raised the boy himself. That's why the son doesn't carry his surname. What surprised me was how everyone somewhat knew that Dong Joo and Eunnam were living together. After eps 2, I am certain Eunnam's feelings for DJ are genuine. I am assuming she was somewhat "forced' to marry the other guy - "I don't buy the grandfather is going to give me Daesan shares" excuse. When you belong to the top 1% of the country, your marriage is not for your choosing. Her not telling DJ who she is was also her way to see if he genuinely loved her and probably she has never liked this Daesan heritage of hers. I quite like Daesan chairman and DJ's relationship - it is a mutually beneficial one of course but Chairman doesn't trust anyone else the way he does DJ. But from the preview it looks like DJ is going to steal Yeom Jang Sung's $$$ and has asked Eunnam to come with him - so is he gonna be on the run already? 1 Mon-Tues: Head Over Heels Wed-Thurs: - Fri-Sat: Our Movie Sat-Sun: Daily: - C-drama: - The Princess Gambit, A Dream Within A Dream, In The Name of Blossom
mademoiselle Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 @abs-oluteM Not only they all pretended they didn't know Eun Nam is seeing Dong Joo, they also feign ignorance that Chairman has a son. Yeah, agreed, Eun Nam genuinely loves Dong Joo because she said her heart aches just thinking about another woman standing beside Dong Joo. At that time, she already knew she will get married. That said, I find it hard to believe these people planning to seduce an heiress don't bother to do their homework? They don't at least hire an investigator to find out how she looks like and what she's like so they can come up with a seduction plan...? I think I know why you said this drama reminded you of The Impossible Heir. From the relationship between the Chairman and Dong Joo, I do see similarity. Both are Chairman's secretaries. In The Impossible Heir, the Chairman has a dream/vision and Lee Jae Wook understands and is capable of making his dream comes true. As for Chairman Cha, he's also seeking a worthy heir but there's no guarantee his illegitimate son can do the job either, so it might ends up with Dong Joo inheriting Daesan later, too. Especially, we can see he doesn't like/want to be controlled by Yeom Jang Sun. Eun Nam is of no help to Dong Joo at the moment, so they will fail with running away. 1
abs-oluteM Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Oh so when does this happen? Am guessing he ain't running off just yet. Here he is making friends to gain the trust of Chairman's son ( ooo the kid from MeloMovie) and Chairman seems please... 1 Mon-Tues: Head Over Heels Wed-Thurs: - Fri-Sat: Our Movie Sat-Sun: Daily: - C-drama: - The Princess Gambit, A Dream Within A Dream, In The Name of Blossom
