Plot Summary

Set in the 21st century, with South Korea governed by a constitutional monarchy. Seong Hee-Ju (IU) is the second daughter of the top chaebol family in the country. She has almost everything, including a beautiful appearance and intelligence. She is also fiercely competitive. Seong Hee-Ju doesn't care that she is not part of the royal family, but her commoner status starts to become an obstacle in her life. This leads her to get involved with Prince Yian (Byeon Woo-Seok), who is the second son of the King. Prince Yian is destined to have nothing, but his royal status. He always hides him from people, but, after he meets Seong Hee-Ju, he begins to change.

IU And Byeon Woo Seok To Star In New Romance Drama

 

IU and Byeon Woo Seok will be starring together in a new drama!

 

On December 2, Kakao Entertainment announced that IU and Byeon Woo Seok had been cast as the leads in MBC’s upcoming drama “Wife of a 21st Century Prince” (working title).

 

“Wife of a 21st Century Prince” is a romance drama set in an alternate version of Korea that is a constitutional monarchy. The drama will tell the love story of Sung Hee Joo, a chaebol heiress who has everything but is only a commoner in status, and Lee Ahn, a prince who has nothing despite being the son of the king.

 

IU will star as Sung Hee Joo, the second daughter of the family that owns the biggest conglomerate in Korea. Born with beauty, brains, and a fierce competitive streak, Sung Hee Joo has always enjoyed every advantage—but when her commoner status unexpectedly becomes an obstacle in her perfect life, she winds up becoming entangled with Prince Lee Ahn.

 

Byeon Woo Seok will star as Lee Ahn, a prince who has nothing but his royal status due to being born as the king’s second son. After hiding his identity his entire life, Lee Ahn begins to undergo a major change in his life after meeting Sung Hee Joo.

“Wife of a 21st Century Prince” is currently scheduled to air in the second half of 2025.

Glad that next year I have 2 dramas I'm excitedly anticipating.

 

@mademoiselle u really don't watch Brewing Love? Seriously, it is good and so confortimg! I fell for the sweet male lead and as usual KSJ is just amazing queen chemistry. The story is also kind of healing.

I am watching Brewing Love, but not invested. Last 2 episodes, I couldn't concentrate.

Yup, FBC, but it was so boring so I just ffd to the end very quickly. They failed to surpass GAH. I don't mean to compare but I can't help it. So this doesn't count I think. It feels more.like just testing the water. 😁

 

So far, my ongoing dramas r just the two. I plan to finish some old dramas I have started long ago.
