Article: Kang Ki Young meets the character of his career 14 years into his debut in drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'... "all the praise for his acting + visuals"

Source: Insight via Instagram

1. [+183] I'm personally such a big fan of him. His acting is amazing, and he's just the type of actor who makes you feel better..?? He was so funny on 'Secretary Kim' as well as 'Crazy Romance' 😍 Find strength, Kang Ki Young-nim!! ^^

2. [+152] He's a great example of the broad depth and variety of characters that actors should be able to pull off no matter what role they are handed 👍

3. [+138] He's gotten even more handsome 👍

4. [+68] Every single cast member in this drama is so likeable. Woo Young Woo, Dong Geurami, Jung Myung Seok, the dad, Han Bada CEO, etc... the way everyone observes Youngwoo with a warm gaze and doesn't discriminate against her but protects her... I know that this is just a drama and that the plot is mostly fantasy but it's such a warming and heartfelt drama that I've rewatched the episodes six times now. I knew from the first episode that this drama was going to be my most favorite.

5. [+19] He's only ever been in roles as a comedic character so I'm glad to see him finally meet his match 👏👏👏 His acting's so good. I do like seeing moments of his class clown nature come through once in a while though.

6. [+10] He's an actor I've always hoped would do well 😍

7. [+3] His acting is so good, I've become a fan through this drama. I support you!

8. [+1] I always thought his character in 'Secretary Kim' was the best of his career

9. [+2] He's absolutely perfect for the character!! 👏👏

10. [+1] He's perfect for the character, though I think Nam Goong Min would've been a good fit too ㅋㅋ

The only Korean movie this Chuseok is 'Cooperation 2'.. Analysis of the changed summer theaters is in full swing

2022.08.01

This year's Chuseok theater is expected to be the world of 'Cooperation 2'.

Spoiler

On the 1st, CJ ENM announced that 'Cooperation 2: International' had been released in September. 'Cooperation 2: International' (Director Seok-Hoon Lee) is a North Korean detective named Cheol-Ryeong Rim (Hyun Bin) who meets again to catch a global criminal organization, Jin-Tae Kang (Hae-Jin Yoo), a South Korean detective, and Jack (Daniel Henney), an overseas FBI. , is a film depicting an unpredictable triangular cooperative investigation of detectives who unite for their own purpose. It is the sequel to 'Cooperation', which was released in 2017 and mobilized 7.81 million people, and Hyun Bin, Hae Hae-jin, and Im Yoon-ah have reunited after the first movie.

As CJ ENM confirmed and announced that 'Cooperation 2' will be released in September aimed at the Chuseok holiday, it is expected that 'Cooperation 2' will be the only expected Korean movie this Chuseok season.

According to the movie industry, this is because the Chuseok season has a short holiday period and other movies that were preparing for Chuseok release have delayed their release except for 'Cooperation 2'. Director Kim Tae-yong's 'Wonderland', which was originally prepared for this Chuseok season, was recently arranged for a late fall release due to post-production work, etc. With the exception of CJ ENM, other distributors such as Lotte Entertainment, Showbox, NEW, and Megabox Plus M have no Korean films released this Chuseok season.

This Chuseok holiday was short, but it is also a time to catch a breath for a while as each major distribution company launched an all-out war on the market this summer.

Initially, the theater industry expected that the total audience visiting theaters in July and August, the peak season, would exceed 40 million and return to the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level. This is because the total number of theaters in May and June returned to the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level. From April 18, all social distancing measures were lifted, and from April 25, popcorn was allowed in movie theaters, and external requirements improved. Since then, due to the success of 'Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Chaos' and 'Crime City 2', the total number of theaters in May was 14.55 million. In June, the total number of audiences recorded 15.47 million thanks to box office hits such as 'Jurassic World: Dominion', 'Witch 2' and 'Top Gun: Maverick', returning to the level before the pandemic for two months in a row.

However, in July, despite the release of highly anticipated films such as 'Thor: Love and Thunder', 'Alien + Human' Part 1, and 'Hansan: The Appearance of the Dragon', the total audience was only 16.28 million. This is about 5 million less than the total audience of 21.91 million in July 2019, before the pandemic.

What is unusual is that before the pandemic, theaters had the largest number of audiences of the year in late July and early August, but this summer, the rate of audience growth is moving differently. If the current trend continues, the peak is expected to peak around August 15, the Liberation Day holiday.

This seems to be because the audience's tendencies have changed from before the pandemic. Since July, all three multiplex movie ticket prices have increased, making audiences more cautious than in the past when it comes to watching movies. Therefore, the tendency to judge movies to watch by word of mouth is much stronger than in the past, and it is expected that the audience will move more actively after all the big 4 movies are released this summer. Therefore, there is a possibility that a movie like 'Nob' will become a dark horse. Jordan Peele's 'Get Out'

Each investment and distribution company is expected to analyze the different audience trends this summer and consider new release strategies. In the past, there was a competition to secure as many screens and screening frequency as possible in the first week of release, but for a movie with good word-of-mouth in the current audience, the key is how long to stably secure the screen and screening frequency.

Such analysis is likely to be applied in earnest to films that are scheduled to be released in late September or early October.

The only major distributor movie aimed at Chuseok in September is 'Cooperation 2', but in September, Seo In-guk and Jang Dong-yun's movie 'Wolf Hunt' (director Kim Hong-sun) is planning to be released. Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin's movie 'Negotiation' (Director Im Soon-rye) and Ra Mi-ran's movie 'Honest Candidate 2' (Director Jang Yoo-jung) are also weighing their release in late September and early October.

How the summer theaters, which have changed from before the pandemic, will come to an end, and how the lessons will be applied to Korean films that are scheduled to be released in the second half of this year, this summer the theater seems to leave a lot of stories.

'Negotiation', released on January 18, 2023... Hwang Jung-min X Hyun-bin, urgent rescue operation

2022.12.07 Reporter Kim Ji-ho

DjcHM5J.jpg

The movie 'Negotiation' (director Lim Soon-rye) confirmed the release on January 18, 2023. The first official poster and trailer were also released.

'Negotiation' is a movie about Afghanistan and the Taliban. It is the story of a diplomat specializing in negotiations and a local NIS agent operating to rescue Koreans held hostage by the Taliban.

Hwang Jung-min transforms into 'Jeong Jae-ho', a diplomat specializing in negotiations. A competent and principled person. Hyun Bin becomes 'Park Dae-sik', an agent of the National Intelligence Service in the Middle East. He thinks the hostages must be saved at all costs.

The two posters vividly convey the rough and desolate feeling of Afghanistan. Hwang Jung-min and Hyun-bin were walking toward the Taliban camp with a solemn expression.

In particular, Hyun Bin's unconventional transformation is also impressive. With a rough-growth beard and tanned skin, he gave off a Middle Eastern agent force. Hwang Jung-min showed off a suit fashion like an elite diplomat.

Even in the official trailer, an atmosphere of urgency was felt. The Taliban gave a 24-hour deadline for killing. Hwang Jung-min's watch starts to decrease gradually.

Hwang Jung-min and Hyun-bin's different beliefs also attract attention. Hyun Bin asks Hwang Jung-min, "If another victim comes out, can you take responsibility?" He predicted that collaboration between the two would not be smooth.

However, Hwang Jung-min and Hyun-bin gradually overcome the difference in method and way of thinking. They do their best even in adverse conditions, such as the demands of the Taliban and the additional sacrifice of hostages.

Meanwhile, in 'Negotiation', in addition to the two, Kang Ki-young will star. Kang Ki-young plays Lee Bong-han (Kasim), a weedy Korean who survived in the back alleys of Afghanistan. He is going to add wit and fun.
