I think the time they spend at Mr Huan's residence is quite meaningful for both of them. And the sad story of Mrs Huan seems to lay foundation for their own sad story later on. The dying wife mentioned not to build memorial tablet for her, but she will continue be with him forever. I guess this is the overall story all about.

@NiteWalker @SilverMoonTea just done with ep 12. Taking longer time to finish 2 episodes since I did some rewind and rewind for some scenes and non-stop fangirling on discord. 

 

Love him with that casual white robe, so handsome aaaah 

 

I really love ep 11 to 12. At first I was affraid that they would start the angts early these episodes, glad I was wrong. They are all so sweet!! I'm grining from ear to ear for almost 2 hours watching them. 

 

The plot went pretty smooth and really fun. I need more episodes of like this moreee. Let just be a half episode for the angst, sigh.

 

I think this is the calm before the storm. That longkang master words to ZSC is forshadowing somehow. They seem to serve us with all the happy moments while preparing to break our heart at the end. Is there any ray of hope that this chapter would still have little happy ending??? They dont need to follow exactly what the book told.

It's great to see her doing good at his forst attempt shooting the arrow. This, I ever complained about how tropey they are when they use that silly excuse to keep them stick together last time, this archery looks more natural. After all, Archery is one of the compulsory lesson of flirting 101 class rightt??? Bwahaahaha. 

 

SY clearly confessed her feeling to shifu and shifu accepts her solemnly. I love how those two eyes are filled with affection to each other. They give me diabetes! Too much sugar, oohh I cant handle!  my heart is blooming!! 

 

And our matchmaker of the week goes to Huan, the Longkang master!! I love this guy, his works are making some good results. 

 

I bet that guangling will spread some rumors about their relationship later and used it to stirr up as something treason to ruin their image and put down the trust of the young emperor at ZSC. Thus, he think he could win over SY.

 

Btw that monk and little general are so lovely buddies. He seems like he had left the worldly affairs, but his eyes and ears are all wide open. All the people who comes to ZSC are welcomed as family and it's why they return him back with love of family feeling and loyalties.

It is! Cuz the moment they spent there is their freedom, they can be themselves leaving all those status and their matters  for a break.

@SilverMoonTea @Alice Wonderland I think their story is going to be similar to the matchmaker's story too. I also agreed that the time they spend there is very meaningful and both were able to confirm that the other person also feels the same way too. I don't think they will ever openly admit their feelings because they are bound by their role in society.

He drying up her hair in shelter during raining, I thought he will not do it. But he listen to the advice hahaha... This will have the parallel in the modern version, with hair dryer not with handkerchief 😆

Wow, iQIYI has been wrapping up a drama every two weeks by offering their advance episodes. Haha! 

 

I've only started episode 14, I'll watch a few more this weekend.

Ep 13 to 14 felt quite peaceful. They spend another night rain together. If you need staying awake 24 hrs then playing chess it is! I think both are confessing each other feelings but both knows really well how forbidden their love is. Too many forbidden love here. 

 

Ooh she is in that red dress looking pretty but she looks so sad. Our angts antidote is ready on sep 9th, isn't it??

I upgraded my iQiyi subscription to VIP Premium just so I can watch all the episodes but honestly, it felt like I paid extra to cry extra. 

 

I'm going to put in spoilers so I don't ruin it for those who haven't seen...

The farewell scenes between Shiyi and Zhousheng Cheng were so beautifully done in episodes 16 and 17. You can really see the unspoken love between them.

 

The scene by the river where Zhousheng Cheng tells Shiyi, "I've been selfish too.. for wanting something I cannot have.."  as he looks at her.. that's basically his confession. My heart really broke for him in this one because as much he wants to be with her, he cannot break his oath. He was sacrificing his happiness for his country. Shiyi is the one thing he wanted for himself and yet he couldn't have her.

 

Ugh, when they found out that there's been a royal edict re-instating the engagement between Shiyi and Prince Guangling.. the look on Zhousheng Cheng's face just broke me and all the scenes of them together after - when Shiyi begs to be allowed to stay at the Western State, when Zhousheng Cheng cries in secret, when they have a farewell drink together, when Zhousheng Cheng bends forward to let Shiyi caress his face, when he watches her and cries as her carriage leaves, when she finds him in the room next to hers, secretly escorting her back to the Central State... UGH! My heart broke into a million pieces and I'm still trying to put it all back together.

 

And the scene when Shiyi finds out about his death and manner of death. I really felt all of it and cried so hard!

 

I have to say this drama was really well done. I loved all of the characters, the costumes were beautiful and the acting was amazing. Even though it had a sad ending, I still loved it. I'm looking forward to Forever and Ever! We need happiness for them!!

The adaptation is really well done! 

Their tale is so heartbreaking yet at the same time.. so beautiful! 

And tbh.. I understand... I understand why Zhousheng Chen still held onto his vow! What he wished for is the peace for the people... He was an honorable person till the end! I grieve for him.. Just like Shiyi was grieving. 

"Chen, in this life, never forsook the world and has only forsaken Eleven" 

 

I keep coming back to Hoju's words about them:
"beauty is offered, a soul is given in return” a love in which no words are needed to express it for it is mutually understood.

 

And this drama delivers their tale perfectly.

 

Looking forward for FAE to cure my heartbreak...
