FENG JIU’S HEARTACHES

 

After a short walk, Feng Jiu tells her grievances to Su Mo Ye that as Aranya, she is never loved by her family nor taken care of by her husband Xi Ze. Dong Hua listens to her pour her heart out, comparing herself as no much different to Aranya, since the one she has always loved was never there when she is in peril or hurt.

 

Su Mo Ye asks Feng Jiu if she had thought of finding someone who will not let her suffer, nor put her in danger. She shakes her head no, she never had that chance. Spent with her crying, Dong Hua takes her into his arms when she fell asleep.

ARANYA’S SISTERS

 

During the meteors watching feast, Queen Qinghua asked Aranya why she doesn’t know where is Xi Ze. Changdi claims he is not there because she asked him for a favour. While still talking to the Queen, Xi Ze turns up to the party with Cha Cha, and belies Changdi’s assertions as to why he was late.

 

Having lost their faces, the sisters of Aranya plot against her. They sent a letter to Su Mo Ye, pretending Aranya wants him to visit her in early morning. Someone snuck in Aranya’s room to pour acacia extracts in her jug, causing her to faint after having a drink. The King was summoned by Junou and Changdi, to see for himself who is sleeping with Aranya.

THE END OF ARANYA

 

Changdi was banished by the King, while Junou’s date of execution has been set. Su Mo Ye tells Feng Jiu that despite the enmity, she will have to do what Aranya did that time – save Junou, and Shen Ye – by sacrificing half of her blood to the white tiger. Feng Jiu does as what Su Mo Ye asked her to do, and collapses as her connection to Miao Luo is revealed. 

 

While Dong Hua and Miao Luo's projection were fighting, the primordial spirit of Feng Jiu returns to her real body. The Aranya of the dream realm vanishes.

CAVE OF REVELATIONS

 

Feng Jiu wakes up in her own body to see Dong Hua and Miao Luo’s projection engaged in a battle. Dong Hua asks her to hide after shielding her from Miao Luo’s attack.

 

She found a cave to shelter from the thunderstorm. Using a night pearl to look her way inside, she finds that Dong Hua is there as well.

 

After months and months of missing her, his Xiao Bai is now in front of him. Dong Hua is unable to stop himself. He backs her to the wall, all the while kissing her, keeping her close…

REALITY AMIDST DREAMS

 

Pleased with his sugar foxes, Dong Hua blankets the entire city with petals shower as he brings Xiao Bai to the Girls’ Festival. While sitting on a bridge, he tells her that once they leave the dream realm, he will marry her and she will be his Empress.

 

Feng Jiu returns ahead to her mansion, only to be informed that her servants could not pacify a very drunk Shen Ye.

SHEN YE AND ARANYA

 

Shen Ye is bewildered when he came to know that Xi Ze moved in to Aranya’s residence and bedroom. He couldn't understand why there are so many changes in the dream realm he created.

 

Su Mo Ye was given some days of rest by Dong Hua to recover from continuous work on the magical instrument. He visits Feng Jiu, and tells her the rest of what he knew of Aranya and Shen Ye.

A VERY JEALOUS DONG HUA

 

Su Mo Ye facilitated the meeting of Junou and Shen Ye by the river bank before she leaves the city. Feng Jiu would also make Shen Ye admit his feelings to herself as Aranya, in keeping up of the events that happened during the real Aranya’s time.

 

Shen Ye embraces Aranya as he tells her he loves her and to not leave anymore. By chance, Xi Ze (Dong Hua) and Cha Cha have seen them.

 

Unable to bear the sight, Dong Hua walks away and stays outside for hours amidst the pounding rains. He returns late and lies down beside an already sleeping Feng Jiu. Waken up, she prepares him a hot bath to dispel the chilliness. He tugs Feng Jiu into the tub to join him while he soaks.

THE NEW MIAO HUA MIRROR

 

Reading the latest pleading letter Su Mo Ye sent, Feng Jiu urges Dong Hua to return to Qi Nan Palace to finish the magical instrument. He reluctantly agrees, as he felt that the few days apart are too long to be away from Xiao Bai.

 

Miao Luo’s projection breaks the Glazed Lamp. The collected primordial spirit and memories of Aranya permeate Feng Jiu's body and mind, giving her the late Princess’ feelings and thoughts in the past.

 

Dong Hua and Su Mo Ye has finished the magical instrument. The smaller, new Miao Hua mirror is capable of showing the past lives of immortals.

THE SADDEST MEMORIES

 

Dong Hua and Su Mo Ye watch from the mirror the past of Shen Ye and Aranya. At present, they were seeing that Aranya has been implicated in her father King Xiangli Que’s death.

 

The Queen Qinghua has manipulated a war with the neighboring Night Owls clan, sending the new King Xiangli He to the battlefront. With Changdi declared insane and Aranya in jail, the road has been cleared for Junou to take over the throne.

 

Shen Ye has done his best with the help of Wen Tian and Xi Ze to save Aranya. In the end, the princess lost her life in a sacrifice saving her brother and her people. Shen Ye, was the last to know.

A SHADOW’S LIFE

 

The Miao Hua mirror reveals that Shen Ye and Aranya are the shadows of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. They also knew then that Feng Jiu must not go through the last phase of Aranya's life. Dong Hua and Su Mo Ye reach the river on time to  prevent Feng Jiu from performing the Phoenix Warbling spell.

 

Through the mirror, Su Mo Ye shows Shen Ye his real origins, and that of Aranya’s.

 

While the dream realm was breaking, Miao Luo takes advantage of it to collect the red Qi from Feng Jiu’s phoenix flower birthmark. Su Mo Ye, Dong Hua, and Feng Jiu leave the dream realm. The ice and snow in Fanyin Valley started to melt.

JIUGE UNMASKED

 

The Biyiniao and the Night Owl royal family members are staying in Fanyin Valley to help Dong Hua suppress Miao Luo. The citizens of both clans were arranged to be evacuated to Jiuchongtian, including Ji Heng and Jielu. The young princess wanted to stay, but her cousin Meng Shao was firm that it should be Jielu who would be with their clans people.

 

Meng Shao has also discovered who really is Jiuge.

BINGCANG CEREMONY

 

As soon as Feng Jiu arrived back in Jiuchongtian, Uncle Bai Zhen reminds her that her Bingcang ceremony is due on 15 days. Feng Jiu has to make a sword case for the Hexu sword that she has forged.

 

The day of the Bingcang ceremony arrived.  The presence of Dong Hua and Lian Song among the attendees surprise many.

 

Feng Jiu successfully passes the formation and was about to conclude the ceremony, when Nie Chuyin arrives to challenge her in a sword fight. If he wins, he can demand favours from Qing Qiu.

THE PRINCE CONSORT

 

Despite Bai Yi’s misgivings, the sword fight between Nie Chuyin and his daughter Feng Jiu gets going. Feng Jiu was skilled and did her best, but must concede when Nie Chuyin’s sword point was at her throat. Nie Chuyin was about to ask for the Qing Qiu promise when Lian Song announced to the audience that he still has to defeat the Prince Consort of Feng Jiu.

 

Nie Chuyin tried to beg off when he recognized who he is, but the Prince Consort is adamant they should battle. After three opening strokes he allowed his opponent, Dong Hua breaks Nie Chuyin’s sword, and holds the Canghe sword beneath his chin. Dong Hua then dines and discusses their delayed wedding reception plans with Bai Yi and Feng Jiu's mother.

THE WEDDING BANQUET

 

Dong Hua and Feng Jiu have their most carefree and happiest days at Bihai Cangling before their wedding. She taught him how to make edible sweet and sour fish, played hide and seek, flew a kite, and danced for him while he plays the konghou (ancient Chinese harp).

On the eve of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu's wedding reception, Ji Heng summoned the Emperor to Mt Baishui using her late father’s dragon scale. She has purposely get herself bitten again by the venomous creatures living there, making her Qiushui poisoning much worse. Ji Heng demands from Dong Hua to fulfill his dragon scale promise to Meng Hao by divorcing Feng Jiu, and to remain single without any Empress by his side.

BAI GUN GUN

 

Devastated that Dong Hua seems to have chosen Ji Heng over her, Feng Jiu goes back to Qing Qiu. She finds out from Zhe Yan that she is pregnant. She decides to leave for the mortal realm, passing by the Netherworld first to give half of her cultivation to Ye Qingti.

 

In the mortal realm, Feng Jiu gave birth to Bai Gun Gun. A bright and perceptive child, Bai Gun Gun would often ask questions about their kin and immortals. He has once asked Feng Jiu whether he has a father like his mortal children playmates.  

 

While getting ready for dinner, Xie Guchou's message appears. Two hundred years after she left, Feng Jiu and Bai Gun Gun are returning to fairyland.

THE EMPEROR’S SUCCESSOR

 

Ye Qingti is now a true immortal after the purifying ceremony at the Jade Pond. He is summoned to Qin Yun Hall by the Emperor to be given a position. Dong Hua astonishes everyone present when he named Ye Qingti as his successor.

 

Dong Hua and Feng Jiu meet one last time at Tai Chen Palace. She refused to accept the glazed ring Dong Hua was gifting her.

 

The moment Feng Jiu heard Dong Hua named Ye Qingti as the next Emperor, she broke into Tai Chen Palace to find him. She could not believe nor accept that Dong Hua has named his heir; it meant her husband is about to die. Feng Jiu is finally told the truth of what was happening from when they had left Aranya’s Dream. The ring she rejected, was made from half of Dong Hua's heart; it was meant to protect her beyond his demise.

LAST BATTLE WITH MIAO LUO

 

Aware that it will trap him and end his existence as well, Dong Hua has used the starlight ward to ensure that Miao Luo will never be able to escape. 

 

Miao Luo and Dong Hua were still fighting when Feng Jiu and others reached Fanyin Valley. Ye Qingti tried to prevent Feng Jiu from entering the starlight ward,  but could not stop her when she used her Taouzu sword.

 

Within the ward, Feng Jiu and Dong Hua battled Miao Luo together. Miao Luo was powerful, but was weakened when blood splatters from Feng Jiu’s wounds touched her.
