The new Netflix varshow seems very interesting. Looking forward for it.. but if I noticed the Netflix shows (Busted, Twogether) usually takes longer duration between the shooting and the airing… so maybe end of year or next year?

Singer, actor Lee Seung Gi to host new JTBC survival program 'Peak Time'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi, who has recently been at the center of controversy due to a conflict with his former agency Hook Entertainment, will be back on the small screen as the host of a K-pop audition show.

 

 

“Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi will join global K-pop idol survival program ‘Peak Time’ as a host,” JTBC announced on Monday.

 

Lee has hosted two seasons of JTBC’s previous hit audition shows “Sing Again” (2020-21) and “Sing Again 2” (2021-22), which have seen commercial success by bringing anonymous singers into the spotlight. 

The upcoming “Peak Time,” helmed by the production staff of “Sing Again,” was first revealed as a new global project in June. Similar to the theme of “Sing Again,” the show will offer already-debuted K-pop idols whose activities were halted — whether due to Covid-19, agency issues, or rookie idols who want to step up to the spotlight — a second chance for success. The show contestants are all from boy bands and they will compete to win the ultimate title of “Worldwide Idol.”

“Lee is the best host who is irreplaceable in terms of his excellency and of course, his unrivaled music capacity to sympathize with and represent what the contestants are going through in the show,” JTBC said. “As he’s done with ‘Sing Again,’ he will show, once again, synergy with the contestants on this show.”

 

“Peak Time” is scheduled to air sometime early next year.

 

Lee recently ended his contract with Hook Entertainment after the agency admitted that it failed to pay the singer his earnings. Lee has been a popular singer since his debut in 2004 and released a total of 137 songs over the past 18 years, but he claims he has not received any payment for the digital streams or downloads of his songs.

 

Hook Entertainment’s CEO Kwon Jin Young is currently facing accusations of embezzlement and misuse of the company credit card.

Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi donated 550 million won ($450,000) to the Korean Red Cross in celebration of his birthday on Jan. 13.
 
The donation was made to help increase bloodmobiles and free food distribution buses around the country, according to a press release published by the Korean Red Cross on Friday.
 
"I decided to make the donation in hopes that it will help console the hearts of people who are suffering due to disasters nationwide," Lee said.

 

"I feel proud to give back to society the love that I've received from people. In particular, I've seen donated blood run out in medical fields and I hope that the buses help more people donate blood."
 
Lee is famous for his frequent and consistent donations and is already a member of the Red Cross Honors Club (RCHC). He recently donated 2 billion won to the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, following his continued interest in supporting and doing volunteer work for children over the years.

 

Last month, Lee ended his contract with Hook Entertainment upon becoming aware that his agency, Hook Entertainment, had failed to pay him fairly. 
 
Lee has been a popular singer since his debut in 2004 and released a total of 137 songs over the past 18 years. He claims he had not received any payment for the digital streams or downloads of his songs.
 
When Lee brought these facts to the Hook Entertainment executives, they acknowledged their faults and on Dec. 16 paid Lee a total of 5.4 billion won in its own calculations. 
 
Lee claimed that the 5.4 billion won, calculated by his agency, was nowhere close to the amount that his team estimated, and notified Hook Entertainment that he will not stop the lawsuit. On the same day, Lee said that he would donate the entire amount to charity.

On March 21st, Korean media outlets reported that Lee Seung Gi, Kang Ho Dong and Bae In Hyuk have confirmed their appearances in 'Brother Ramen,' a new variety show jointly produced by TV Chosun and Discovery Channel Korea.

 

'Brother Ramen' is an outdoor variety show that tells the stories of people living abroad. Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi will reunite in an outdoor variety show after eight years, following KBS 2TV's '1 Night 2 Days' and tvN's 'New Journey to the West Season 1.'

 

Kang Ho Dong, Lee Seung Gi and Bae In Hyuk are leaving for overseas filming this weekend, with the goal of first broadcasting in May.

Singer Lee Seung Gi will soon embark on his 2023 Asian tour, “The Dreamer’s Dream – Chapter2,” the singer’s self-established agency Human Made announced Thursday.

 

Starting with performances at the Link Arts Center in Hyehwa-dong of Jung District, central Seoul, on May 4, 5, 6 and 7, the singer will then be stopping in Tokyo on May 14, Taipei on May 21 and in Manila on May 27.

 

The agency revealed that more stops will be added at a later date.

 

Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi is appearing as an MC on the JTBC entertainment program 'Peak Time'. He is well-received for his stable progress and witty talk. Lee Lee Seung Gi will tie the knot with actress Lee Da In on April 7.

Singer actor Lee Seung Gi will begin his Asia tour for the first time in 4 years but is not garnering an enthusiastic response.

 

Starting in May of this year, Lee Seung Gi is scheduled to begin performances for Asia tour 'The Dreamers Dream Chapter 2' with performances in Seoul, Tokyo, Manila, and more.

 

But despite being a top singer with a strong fan base, the singer has been unable to sell out tickets to his concert. One of the concert venues, the 477-seat Link Art Center Payco Hall is relatively small compared to his previous concerts at the 15,000-seat Olympic Gymnastics Stadium.

 

As of the morning of April 20, approximately 25 to 40 seats remain available for each performance, with a total of 141 unsold seats out of 1,908 across the four-day event. Even though the general public has been able to reserve tickets since April 6, the weekend shows have not reached full capacity even after two weeks. In some instances, the number of available tickets has increased over time due to cancellations.

South Korean entertainer Lee Seung Gi will be holding his first Singapore concert on Jun 14, four years after his Vagabond Voyage fan meeting.

 

Dubbed The Dreamer’s Dream – Chapter 2, this concert will take place at Resorts World Convention Centre, Resorts World Ballroom. In the past, to attend a K-pop concert in person or to attend a fan engagement event, where global fans can interact with their favorite stars include a hi-bye session and eco bag for all attendees.
