Why You Should Watch tvN’s Upcoming Entertainment Show ‘K-Ocean Pathfinders’

K-Ocean Pathfinders, starring Kim Nam Gil, Go Ah Sung, Park Sung Woong, and Go Kyu Pil, is gearing up to greet the viewers.

Set to premiere today at 10:50 p.m. KST, K-Ocean Pathfinders is an entertainment show where the actor voyages from the West Sea to the East Sea by boat. It will feature a week of yacht voyage with best friends, along with the beautiful scenery of the Korean Strait.

The show will start its journey from Mokpo and introduce a sea route that passes through Chujado Islands, Jeju Island, Maemuldo Islands, and Ulleungdo Island, to the final destination of Dokdo Island. This route will be about 1,094 km (about 680 miles).

Since the shooting continued nonstop for 11 nights and 12 days, the production team cast “real friends” so that they could rely on each other during the tough times. In all, they were able to complete the perfect combination – Kim Nam Gil and his close friend Park Sung Woong, and Go Kyu Pil, who Kim Nam Gil traveled with for Trans-Siberian Pathfinders, and Go Ah Sung, who is close to Park Sung Woong and Go Gyu Pil.

 

 

Producer Lee Chan Hyun said, “Like Trans-Siberian Pathfinders, the show will present a strange trip with close friends. I hope you enjoy watching them learn the beauty of the trip that set off without knowing much, show off their chemistry, and discover their own enjoyment.”

Episode 1 Recap- The first voyage to Hataedo

 

(Disclaimer: I am not a Korean speaker, I only relied my understanding and translation based on papago . Some of the clips were translated and will be included here ) 

 

Second Season - From crossing boarder thru train to sailing on the vast sea.

 

The show made a recap of the first season pathfinders - where Namgil mentioned that he really wanted to do travelling show once given the chance because he enjoyed Trans-Siberian .  A montage of the clips from first season was shown (how surreal that it was the first variety of Namgil in a sense).

 

A year after..Another unfamiliar voyage is set to sail. Namgil is taking a nap on the deck of the yacht when he woke up with Sungwoong's "Sale Up Begins!!". A new set of friends are taking the challenge of sailing for the first time through the Korea Straight: Park Sung Woong, Go Ah Sung, Go Kyu Pil and Kim Nam Gil. 

 

 

A route with a total of 1.094 km distance, the crew will just do three things during the entire trip : eat, sleep , sail.  During the trip they will encounter different experiences on each island --either sailing with bigger ships, witnessing the sunsets or sunrise or just enjoying those big waves.

Fast forward to their third day, Sung Woong admitted to Namgil that he wanted to give up. Because he felt useless being sea sick for three days and can not even volunteer to do anything including the dishes. Namgil just laughed it off and remarked "Hyung, it's your character". But Sung Woong is still frustrated. 

However, during their last day--Sungwoong is very much delighted while he and Namgil are crossing the Yeondo Bridge in Ulleungdo. He was thankful to Namgil for chasing him to join the show because who knows when he will do this trip again in his lifetime. During their island hopping, he was enthusiastic to catch not only one but three fishes. (Did he mention he hates fishing, hah).

 

Gyupil introduced Ah Sung to Namgil. Then clips of her in her 2006 blockbuster movie "The Host", followed by a remarkable list of her filmography, including her two projects with Sung Woong ("Office' and "Life of Mars') .  A clip of Life of Mars is shown where Kyungho is literally the only missing person in that frame . Ah Sung was invited by Sung Woong . She said in the solo interview how she trusted her sunbae so she agreed. (This was also mentioned in Q&A). 

 

The PD wondered if there are awkwardness but Namgil debunked that. Namgil asked how old Ah-sung is. She's 28. And the age topic is brought up. Later, we see how Namgil and Ah-sung became close because they share the same music taste (Seo Ta Ji Stans !) , humming songs while steering the wheel or just teasing each other. (Namgil is a fake maknae by the way) .  They first acquainted during the Busan Film Festival in 2015 (when Namgil promoted the movie ' The Shameless') . 

 

 

PD showed the photos of the yacht to the crew. It was a luxury yacht featuring the following : A white jade like stainless steering wheel, sophisticated white terrace, credible motor performance, first row couch and sofa ( was referring to the net area of the yacht) , a queen size bed ( no to sleepless night, yes to nice and sound sleep) , a cozy wooden interior, and systemized shower and bath.  Sungwoong teases gyupil that there are basic gym equipments in the yacht which he can use for exercise. 

 

Apart from the luxury of the yacht, Namgil mentioned that they can also cook on board. Sungwoong asked if Ah-sung can cook, on which Gyupil said her omurice is good. Sungwoong became enthusiastic about food topic that he wants to have american breakfast too. In the end he suggested to only have two meals. Namgil suggested , one meal is enough of which Gyupil strongly disagreed. He's complaining already how difficult their trip will be because of all the work . In the end, it is Namgil who will be having the main chef role.

Apart from what was revealed in their press released Q&A, they were asked why they want to be in this show :

 

For Namgil, Travelling is healing , a leap forward to possibilities. He said there are many meanings  of travelling for each person. He also added that if he is going on a nice trip , he was thinking about a trip that suits during this situation (corona period) .

Gyupil— explore Korea and not becoming a foreign in his own country
Ahsung- gain new experience in travelling through yacht
Sungwoong-he likes the new concept, and wondered when he will experience this in his lifetime if not now. 

 

After their first meeting, they attended yacht driving school and trained there for one month. After studying, exploring, experiencing actual demonstrations, they have finished their course. They were awarded with yacht driving license thanks to their religious 8 hour school sessions, 5 times a week.  The training was no joke, there are no exceptions even if it rains. Namgil got minor scratches too. 

 

D-DAY

 

They need to be in Mokpo port as early as 5:30 in order to make some preparations before they depart. Finally, they will officially meet Seiho. Days before, they were discussing on what name they will give to the yacht. Ah-sung suggested why not call it "Sei-ho". A word play from 'say ho' during concerts.

When they arrived, they checked the interior of the yacht. They also have a simple prayer ceremony  for a safe trip . The coastguard officers arrived  to do final inspection of the yacht including the crews' licenses. At 6:30 AM , finally they will be leaving the dock ! 

 

Namgil said on a voice over that because they are amateurs , they were very nervous to handle a yacht for the first time. Sungwoong also added, that they were trained a 16ft yacht in school, compared to Seiho which is a 45 ft thus he needs to be at full attention while he maneuvers the wheel. 

 

While they were not yet far from the port, Sungwoon just randomly cheered "Seiho!!" and the two dongsaengs followed. Meanwhile, a nagger mom Namgil is displeased. He calls Ah-sung attention to stay close with Skipper in order to remain focused on their direction . (I thought it was Namgil who is the captain , but it is Sungwoong ).

One hour since departure, Skipper ordered his dongsaengs to leave him be and just do their chores in the cabin. He requests for ice americano but Namgil teases him once again . Namgil began to clean instead, adding another monicker as "cleaning fairy". Meanwhile, Gyupil struggled to bring down the luggages of his hyungs in their respective bedrooms. 

 

Skipper starts to get bored. He called his wife and son to brag that he is really driving the real thing surrounded by the sea. The call did not take long, and he is back to being bored with his adjusshi-humming while steering the wheel.  When gyupil went to see him , he is still looking for his ice americano . 

 

Namgil finished cleaning the lounge area when he remembered he needs to clean the bathrooms also. Ah-sung insisted to have their shower rooms be cleaned on their own instead. But still , namgil went to check each room and sprayed some sanitizer. He's the cleaning fairy after all. (This was also one of the questions during telepathy game in their vlive) 

 

Here comes a hungry gyupil. Like in Trans-Siberia, a hungry Gyupil means you need to feed him as soon as possible. Namgil prepares an american breakfast as  Skipper wanted. Sausage, bacon, egg, soup. Then Ah-sung began to complain about sea sickness. Gyupil told her to go outside and breathe some fresh air to remove her nausea. 

 

"Hyung ! Breakfast is ready !"

 

Namgil asks if Skipper is feeling sea sick too but Sungwoon said he's fine. So he went back to the cockpit area. While Namgil, Gyupil and Ah -song cleaned the dishes, big waves are coming that made the three worried. Namgil is nagging once again . "What is Skipper  doing up there?"  He went up to check why Skipper did not warn them about the big waves . Sungwoong reasoned out he told the staff about the waves and should warn the kids below. But the staff did not get what he meant by that.

While Gyupil is preparing their rice for lunch, Ah-sung makes coffee for her oppas.  She was filming herself on the camera while commemorating the first coffee on the boat when Namgil teased her about trying her way to get a CF ad. Sungwoong was glad to finally have his ice americano. 

 

The four had a break from chores. They listened to Namgil's playlist thanks to Thanos bluetooth. Namgil noticed a lovely sky . Sungwoong summoned gyupil to bring out the go pro and have them four filmed.  Later, Namgil and Ah-sung went to lie down to their unique sofa near the pulpit. Namgil brought his small camera this time and took photos of the sky, sea,, waves, and Ah-sung silhouette .  Meanwhile , Gyupil is busy filming a singing Skipper Adjusshi.  When they both get tired, Gyupil  plays a (boomerang type)  badminton . Sungwoong followed. 

 

Ah sung made a video call to Kyungho! Both Sungwoong ang Ah-sung boasted about the yacht ! They 're driving it with the beautiful sight of the sea ! Gyupil said hi too while he still on his badminton game. Namgil said hi to kyungho too, saying he should be also on board . "I also want to go!!: Kyungho screamed .  . Sungwoong suggested him why not go to meet them in Jeju? . But he was busy in filming his movie I think that's why he  sent a coffee truck instead to the crew at Jeju port. 

 

The show previews two guests whom we can look forward to: Lee Sang Yoon (day 6) and Yoo Yeon Seok (day 8). 
 

First Sailing Story 

 

Namgil asked how was the wind. Skipper said 5.5 knots. Because they have an ideal comfortable wind speed, they made their first Sail Up

Namgil took over the cockpit while the other two went to have a nap on the deck. Sungwoon was curious if Namgil is nervous about steering the wheel and he just said there's no such thing. Because skipper trusted Namgil, he finally let him navigate. 

 

Namgil and Ah Sung were the ones who are awake. Because of the favorable wind, they did their first tacking. 

But the two sleeping adjusshi woke up instead . 
Gyupil volunteers to cook but Kng teases him about the taste of the stew. While they bicker each other, Sungwoo begans to have sea sickness too. He went to sleep in his cabin while gyupil took over. Namgil is lying on the couch in the cabin while eating chips. 

When he got more bored he tried the dumbbells on the terrace.  He then goes to Gyupil to shoo him away. He wants to do manual steering which made Gyupil into a nagging mode.

Gyupil asked Namgil if he knows about the movie "The Goonies" . Namgil said yes. Gyupil confessed that he watched that movie more than 100 times to study acting. After a month, he passed the audition for Kid Cop. Then his career did not take off as he wanted to be instead he is in a yacht looking at a vast sea. It was a sad ending (that he did not have a bright career like others ). However, he is very grateful to Namgil hyung because he's there sitting on a yacht with him. Namgil suddenly became shy. In the solo interview, Namgil said that he and Gyupil became close after Trans-siberia, and he is more comfortable now during the second season. Gyupil reveals how he and namgil are very good friends despite that they also have struggles sometimes. 

 

One hour to go before they reach Hataedo! Namgil and gyupil rolled the jib and main sail . It was a lot of work since it was only the two of them.  Gyupil brought Namgil a light long polo because it's getting colder. Then  Gyupil noticed namgil's Gray hair  .

K-Ocean Pathfinders arrives at Hatae Island-the first island at the beginning of their journey

 

Kim Nam-gil, Park Seong-woong, Go Gyu-pil, and Go A-seong of tvN' K-Ocean Pathfinders ' arrives at Hataedo, the first marina, and continue their new journey. 

 

K-Ocean Pathfinders, which was first broadcast on the 18th (Sun), showed the process of sailing in earnest and heading to Hataedo after the sailors Kim Nam-gil, Park Seong-woong, Ko Gyu-pil, and Go A-seong started sailing.

What are the anti-sickness glasses... Members of the'K-Ocean Pathfinders' burst with laughter

The members of the 'K-Ocean Pathfinders' struggled with the fight against motion sickness.

In the tvN entertainment program'K-Ocean Pathfinders', which aired on the 25th, the journey of the sailors Kim Nam-gil, Park Seong-woong, Ko Gyu-pil, and Go A-seong passed Hataedo and arrived at Mukri Port in Chujado.

The crew, who departed last week and started sailing in earnest, were delighted when they arrived at Hataedo after 10 hours of sailing that day. The special measure for motion sickness was 'motion sickness glasses'. Park Seong-woong, who wore glasses with a unique appearance, was surprised by saying, "It feels strange," and when Go Gyu-pil saw the appearance of Goa-sung without glasses, he said, "Yes, Ah-sung must be protected."

On this day, they drew attention not only with 'sickness prevention glasses', but also with yacht shoes prepared by Go A-sung. Impressed by this, Kim Nam-gil expressed satisfaction with the functional shoes, saying, "I only wear these shoes from today."

Seeing Go Gyu-pil and Go A-seong, who were preparing a luxurious meal with abalone and whole pork belly, made fun by Kim Nam-gil, saying, "It looks like a newlywed couple." Go A-seong performed instant acting like a veteran actor.

 

In particular, Kim Nam-gil and Go-A-sung cheered after discovering an unexpected commonality. He was a big fan of Seo Taiji. Afterwards, the two were enthusiastic while listening to Seo Taiji's music without stopping, and Ko Gyu-pil shook his head and made a laugh, saying, "I didn't even dream that I would continue to listen to Seo Taiji's songs on the boat."

 

The fans of the two people who transcended generations shined brightly, but Goa-sung tested Kim Nam-gil, saying, "You don't know the skin," and laughed. In response, Kim Nam-gil said, "Is it crispy on the outside and moist on the inside? These days, young adult don't use that. It's only used by adults in their twenties."

EPISODE 2 RECAP : From Hataedo to Chujado

Finally the crew arrived in the island safely. 

They are welcomed with a small sea shore .

 

The ancient nature breathes. 
Korea's jewel island of Hatae. 

 

Seiho will anchor near the shore of Hatae. After setting the depth to 4.4 M, Namgil released the anchor .

 

The production crew successfully made fantastic shots of the anchor descending to the sea floor. The coastguard instructed guidelines to Gyupil about their boarding to the island. 

 

The crew rode on a life/speedboat heading to the shore. Sungwoong made a research on what are the best delicacies of Hatae. And it must be the abalones !

 

The four were amazed on the breathtaking sight of the island. They went for a quick stroll at Jangburae Beach. "I was relieved after our first stop in the island. It feels like discovering a clean zone ?  ", Namgil said. 

 

 

"Looking at the scenery of the island , i felt like i was far away (from the city)" , Ah Sung added on the voice over. 

 

The four split into to two to make errands - Abalone shopping team - Sungwoong and Gyupil while the Yacht maintenance- Ah sung and Namgil . Namgil leads for the two of them to return to the yacht using the lifeboat like a boss but 

Namgil can hardly pad the boat back to the yacht. Sungwoong continuously teases

, "Look at those Seoul persons! "

After the abalone shopping , the crew had their dinner thanks to Gyupil 's stew. Earlier that day, Namgil teased about the taste that made Gyupil anxious. Yet his hyung remarked that the soup is delicious . Sungwoong volunteered to do the dishes , finding it suddenly fun. While Ah-sung went into her room for her me-time and watching movies, the three hyungs were hanging out in the lounge with their mask pack on.  Ah-sung joined them and made a Kaonashi selca.

However, the night did not yet end because they 're hungry again ! This time, they grilled the abalone, and cooked ramyun to go with the dish. While Ah-sung helps Gyupil to clean the abalones, Namgil is filming them teasing like they look like a newly wed couple. They made parodies just to laugh at themselves. 

 

While waiting for the abalones to be cleaned, Ah-song played a H.O.T song. Namgil however said his fave songs are mostly of Seo Ta Ji's. The two got excited to know that they have the same music taste. They even played Heffy End.

It's snack time at 10:00 PM ! Thanks to grilled fresh abalones and ramyun, they enjoyed the remaining night by noreabang with mini lights brought by Ah-sung. Later, Sungwoong called his wife and son to say goodnight. 

 

Morning came, and Namgil was the first to wake up. Before he left the room , he had this mini complaint session with the camera. It's so funny how he mimed his difficult night with Gyupil who almost occupied the bed space they both shared. (And most probably , Gyupil also snored based on their trip in Trans-Siberian ) . Regardless, he woke up for his morning ritual. He checked the fresh water supply. Oh no, the level is almost empty. Gyupil and Ah-sung woke up next. Sungwoong is still sleeping but a daengil  Namgil knocks to wake him up by calling his famous monicker "Umfa-ga!"

They have apple with cereals for breakfast which Gyupil is not really satisfied with. Then Namgil mentioned about excercise using the gym equipments that they have on the boat. Sungwoong wants to try them too. Gyupil remains not interested with this excercise thing. 

 

Ah Sung brought gifts for his hyungs. A pair of shoes fit for the boat ! They were delighted how did Ah-sung know about their sizes. But she got her way by asking the managers. 

 

Though there is slight rain , Namgil nags Gyupil to exercise but failed. Meanwhile it's 9:00 in the morning , time to depart to Chucha island ! It's Ah-sung's turn to be the skipper. While the boat is leaving, here comes Namgil trying his luck once again to make Gyupil to exercise. Boy he is persistent, hah. 

 

Sungwoong also tried the equipments. After a thirty minute work out, he went to shower to freshen up. While he was drying his hair in front of an electric fan--the infamous sea sickness came up ! Here we go again !  
Gyupil takes over the cockpit while Namgil and Ah-sung enjoy another set of Seo Ta Ji songs. But then, Gyupil is hungry so he went to bring out his most wanted shopped item--the samgyupsal. He grilled it heartilty while Ah-sung offered to add tomatoes and

Sungwoong recovers from sea sickness just in time for their brunch. Namgil take turns to feed himself and Sungwoong. It's funny how Sungwoong is waiting for his dongsaeng to feed him while he is busy steering the wheel. The  entire scene is so cute. 

 

Time to set the main sail. Namgil suggest for another tacking this time. It's 1 PM , while they are starting to get bored, they set up the fishing rod for a potential big catch. Here comes a teaser of everyone getting on hype mode because their rod moved. Did they catch a fish ? 

 

By 1: 30, Gyupil lies down with his meolmi (sea sickness) glasses. They kid about how effective the glasses are, of which Sungwoong is believing it really does. Namgil brought a pillow for Gyupil to lie on . Ah-sung finds the scene cute and she went to take a photo of both when Sungwoong joined. Ah, these four. They are becoming closer as the days go by. 

 

They went to another song , this time Queen's Love of my Life. The yacht is zoomed out with the vast sea behind them. What a lovely sight. 

 

 

Let's traverse our country's sea with Seiho 's crew

 

Gyupil looks for Namgil only to find him lyying once again on their comfy net sofa. Ah-sung made another round of coffee for her hyungs. And funny how the joke of them trying to get a coffee  CF is becoming their routine teasing spree. 

 

And they are hungry , again. 

 

Sungwoong brags about his wife 's curry. Namgil reheated their meal and was impressed on how the curry was cooked with care. Even the corns were noticed. 

 

The issue about their fresh water supply came out . Namgil lectures like a mom that he is, to conserve water. Flashback to Sungwoong's taking a shower, their lavish use of water to clean abalones, and more. They need to save up before they reach Chuchado. 

 

While everyone is busy preparing their snack, the staff outside alerted them about the fish hook moving. The chaos of the two hyungs who got excited to check if they really caught a big fish. False alarm. .   Gyupil was laughing while recalling the sequence during his solo interview.

But , another teaser--they really caught a big fish !!

 

They resumed to eat curry. Sungwoong worries the bread he brought is spoiled already but Namgil just sniff until he ate to check if it is still edible. The daengil mode is on. 

 

At 19 knots, they rolled the main and jib sail while they are closely heading to Chujado.  This routine is always exciting to watch, because the wind speed differs when they were heading to Hataedo before.  While they wait for a few minutes to dock, Ah-sung called Gyupil to enjoy the "water park " scene on the end part of the deck. Gyupil is quite scared on Namgil's delight to prank him twice. Ah-sung enjoys how Gyupil is a scaredy cat when it comes to this.

Unlike in Hataedo, this time, the wind is much stronger, and it was drizzling when they approached the dock of Chujado.   Sungwoong finally woke up from another episode of his sea sickness. The three teased him how difficult it was to roll the main and jib sail. Sungwoong confessed on his solo interview how he felt guilty  Poor guy he took the teasing seriously.

K-Ocean Pathfinders ' first time in Chujado -- Jajangmyeon outdoor mukbang

 

 

Kim Nam-gil, Park Seong-woong, Ko Gyu-pil, and Go A-seong of the 'K-Ocean Pathfinders' arrive at Chuja Island, the second port as they continue their sea journey.

 

In episode 3, to be aired on the night of the Nov. 1st, a new journey unfolds upon arriving at Chujado is drawn.

As soon as the four members arrive at Chujado, they refilled their water supply  for the boat and order jajangmyeon. The members , who cooked and eaten on the boat for days , could not hide their excitement as they tasted the food prepared on land. The Jjajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork eaten at the marina with the background of Lake Sei are expected to excite viewers' appetite.

 

Not only that, but again, the crew challenged themselves with fishing that failed in the last broadcast. In particular, Chujado is famous for its white squid, which is called a sacred place for fishing. It raises curiosity whether the members will be able to overcome the past failures and succeed in night fishing.

 

Park Seong-woong, the eldest brother, is said to have kept in front of the fishing rod alone until late at night, with a feeling of "I'm sorry that I couldn't do anything because of motion sickness in the daytime", and the curiosity arises for the outcome. 

 

The story of Seiho, who left Chujado and sailed again, continues. The longer the time spent together 24 hours a day, the deeper the relationship between the members had become.  The warmth is felt from the way they care for each other, and Tikitaka fires up during a conversation, causing laughter. As they head to Jeju Island, the third island, the team will have to face unexpected challenges while they share their roles and work together to overcome the crisis.

Episode 3 Recap - Mukbang in Chujado, to Jejudo let's go!

 

 

Sailors arrived at Chujado and docked Seiho at Mokri Port. 

 

Chujado is a place for the weary K-Ocean Pathfinders to breathe

 

The place is breathtakingly beautiful.

Gyupil reported the coast guard for Seiho to berth at the Mokri Port as part of the sailing protocol. Meanwhile, Namgil and Ahsung went to refilling station for their fresh water supply. 

 

Namgil suddenly feels strange, which may have resulted to having land motion sickness as he was used to be on the yacht for days. What to do to refill: They will roll the hose  from the main source to the yacht .However  the hose is too long to untangle, thus it created mess and confusion from the sailors. 

 

Namgil on solo interview realized how important it is to save water . Gyupil also lamented that because the water hose is long to connect from the main source to the yacht, it was really difficult to refill because they need to go back and forth from the yacht to the refilling station to check if the hose is working. 

 

Gyupil asked permission again from Namgil if they can have tansuyuk ( sweet and sour pork) for dinner. Namgil teases how GP can't help but to crave for it . Gyupil said they need to replenish their energy with meat. Ah-sung also brightens up by hearing from his oppas about their meal. Gyupil ordered ganjajang, tansuyuk , and jajang souce immediately. Sungwoong alarms the team that the water supply is already full.

Meanwhile Namgil took a quick look at the port . "The scene is no joke" . While he is enjoying the scenery, the beach starts to be covered with sunset.

 

Sungwoong and Gyupil organized their camping materials . Gyupil went inside their deck's storage room to take out the materials and assembled their camping chairs and tables. Later on their ordered arrived in a classic truck.  The four even debated on how they will eat the tangsuyuk --dip or pour over ? Pour over wins.

Their outdoor mukbang was interrupted thanks to the sudden pour of rain. They ended eating the rest of their meal inside the yacht. Meanwhile, Sungwoong is now eager to do night fishing with Gyupil. It is known that Chujado is famous for anchovy and sea fishing. But they need to wait for the rain to stop. When Park Sung-woong and Kim Nam-gil were left alone, Sungwoong then confessed to Namgil how he begins to regret of coming with them because he is suffering sea sickness for three days. He can't help the fellow members for their chores. All he can do now is to help with the dishes when the yacht is anchored. Namgil comforts his hyung by laughing it off and remarks that it is his hyung's character after all. But still, Sungwoong can't help but to vent his frustration. 

 

The rain stops. Here comes the night fishing challenge ! However, even after 2 hours and endless attempt, Sungwoong and Gyupil caught nothing. Kim Nam-gil set up a stake in the sea that night, dreaming of a successful fishing.
 

Sungwoong even wraps up the filming for that night because they really can no longer wait for any fish to be caught. Poor Sungwoong. The editing was also funny as he hums while waiting.

The next morning, Ah-seong woke up as early as 5:40 in the morning. She said, "I like this blue dawn," and enjoyed the relaxation of the dawn alone.

She went back to the yacht only to see Gyupil sleeping on the sofa with his belly sticking out. After she took photos of him sleeping, she carefully covers his tummy with his shirt. 

Kim Nam-gil took out the fish trap he had set the night before. When he checked, the result was only an empty conch shell. Seeing this, Go Ah-sung threw the shell of  into the sea leaving a surprised Kim Nam-gil . Namgil said "she cannot control her anger more than I do." Gyu-pil said, "It seems that we can't have a successful fishing in Chuja Island. Others seem to catch more than 60 fishes here ."

 

 In an interview, Kim Nam-gil laughed at the fish story. Kim Nam-gil regretted that he thought there was an octopus in it like Hae Jin . "I thought I could caught like Yoo Hae-jin, but the fish seem to be smart these days."

Time to depart for Jejudo . Namgil wonders if Sungwoong is awake, but maybe he spent all nighters just to catch a fish. Regardless, the three started to sail out from the Mokri Port. I got to say , Namgil really mastered yacht driving for a short period of time. His driving skills is impressive to watch.

 

 

 

Gyupil reports to coastguard that they already left Mokri Port. Ah-sung offers to make coffee for them. While Gyupil joins Ah-sung as he observes how to make coffee from the machine, Namgil is having his me-time at the cockpit doing his monologue / commentary while driving. He really is a chatterbox.

Namgil and Gyupil praised once again how good Ah-sung's coffee is, then teases about coffee CF next. The clips of CF moments while Ah-sung is making coffee is hilarious. 

 

Time to raise their main and jib sail. Another episode of suspense like action as they set the sails by themselves.

Sungwoong finallywakes up ! However, an emergency occurred . The fender was disconnected from the yacht. The staff warned the sailors and immediately Namgil begins to drive back the yacht by tacking. First it was Gyupil who tried to catch the fender using a stick but failed. After two attempts by Sungwoong, the fender remains floating on the sea. At fourth attempt, they finally got it back thanks to Sungwoong's quick reflexes by catching it by his bare hands. It was like a action scene. Sungwoong was glad that they were able to retrieve it, his meolmi suddenly was gone for a moment. 

 

After they ate cereal for breakfast , Ah-seong entered Yachtland. (I think they took reference on Korea's famous theme park Everland, where the heart stopping roller coaster "T-Express" is the park's main attraction. )  It was a great place for a yacht to enjoy the waves. Kim Nam-gil teased Ah-sung again with a prank, while Ah-sung runs towards him but fell. They're chemistry of that of siblings is a fun to watch.

 Ah- seong told Nam-gil to play together. Namgil joined then later on pursued Gyupil to go with them too. Gyu-pil enjoyed the waves despite his fear of heights. Then suddenly Gyupil heard the sound of a fish caught. Gyupil thought the fish did not catch the bait at first, but Namgil continues to roll the fishing rod.  This time it is real tuna! Success !

 

 

Gyupil 's adventure for the tuna did not end , because the challenge begins on how to clean and fillet the fish. After eating tuna sashimi, Sungwoong got meolmi again having no choice but to lie on the sofa. Meanwhile Namgil took the leisure to watch the blue sky with Ah-seong and Gyu-pil. Nam-gil said, "I think I will feel like I'm going on a honeymoon later by yacht." 

 

Namgil and Ahseong also enjoyed the waves for the second time of that day. Gyupil joined as well from the nagging of Namgil. Sungwoong wakes up from the squeals of Namgil and Ah-sung as they touch their feet from the waves. He went out despite the sea sickness because of curiosity. His dongsaengs called him to join them, and finally he did. Seong-woong, who said he hated riding rides, enjoyed the waves more excitingly than anyone else. He even yells "I'm the king of the world " from Titanic . Sung-woong overcame seasickness, saying, "It's really good. Where are you going to experience this?" 

 

 

Afterwards, the members arrived in Jeju Island. Ah-seong said, "It was impressive that the Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak gradually emerges from a distance," Kim Nam-gil also added, "Jeju Island, which we commonly know, looks different. It felt like seeing an unknown island for the first time. "

It is still surreal to see kyungho being amazed with the highlight stories the four are teasing about. It seems like, Namgil and Kyungho are more than aquaintances, thanks to Gyupil and Sungwoong.

As they continue to walk to the resort hotel, Gyupil begins to complain about his foot, while the rest  are feeling dizzy being on the land. They are already used to the life at sea that they complain of land sickness instead. 

Namgil joined Gyupil's pace so they were left behind. They discussed about their bed assignments. And namgil starts to nag. LOL. The captions are hilarious :

Apparently Namgil lectured his dongsaeng when he slept at the living room the other night. Gyupil explains that it was already late when he is about to sleep and worries to wake Namgil.  "Even if you came in late , I won't notice at all. Namgil explains that when he was sleeping , he was expecting that Gyupil was next to him , but he was not there. "Do you know how surprised I was when I woke up?" Namgil asks. "So don't worry, it's alright. "

 

Sungwoong though, "Hurry up!!" 

 

 

It's 4:30 PM when they arrived at the luxurious  " Haevichi Hotel". This was also the location of Namgil's kdrama Bad Guy.  Ahsung squeals in delight as she crash on the bed , while her oppas are checking on the view of their room . They were given a VIP suite where they can enjoy the view of the sea. (As if they didn't have the view for couple of days already ). They have their dinner in a fine dining restaurant of the hotel. 

 

They discussed their itinerary for the following day for their night sailing preparation. Team Mart will be Sungwoong and Gyupil. Team Yacht maintenance will be Namgil and Ahsung.

At 10 in the evening , their worries were extended while waiting for the sea weather forecast. Namgil is worried because they are amateur sailors, who are not familiar with the pitch black sea. They review the sailing route while waiting. Finally the forecast is out--and a 1 to 2 meters strong waves is possible on their departure. It will be tough. 

 

Sungwoong though, HE CHANGED THE CHANNEL  ! 

 

I guess Namgil is right when he said that his hyung is the dark horse of the show. He is really the tough guy!

 

Morning came with the rain .

 

After kalgaksu for breakfast, the team split up for their chores. Sungwoo and Gyupil did not waste their time to buy canned meat, snacks, more meat, and more snacks ! Ah-sung even called them not to buy much.

 

"We only buy what we need"- Sungwoong.

 

 

 

When Sungwoong and Gyupil came back, they refilled their fresh water supply for their next trip. 

 

Namgil continues to clean the deck by freely pouring water all over until Gyupil leather shoes get wet. Including the beddings of their rooms got wet through the window. LOL.

For dinner , Namgil cooked Bibimgil, his own version of chilli tuna fried rice--apparently, he used plum juice instead of sesame oil. However the taste came out good as well. Meanwhile Sungwoong grilled the black pork samgyupsal . 

 

Ahsung: I have to eat well today because i don't know how hard it will be tonight.  I am Imagining a romantic starry night , however the thoughts of struggle for night sailing is there. It's conflicting to look forward to it

The squadron is done preparing for night voyage. They are ready to leave at 8:30 PM. 

Namgil leads Gyupil (skipper) to navigate as they leave from the dock . Gyupil is so serious driving while Namgil keeps on blabbering about what to do. 

 

Namgil: I am a little nervous because it very dangerous that if I don' t pay attention i might do something wrong and might hurt anyone badly .

 

Gyupil: I am so flustered. I do not to see anything from the dark. 

 

Route to Maemuldo:   

236km 20 hours

 

The wind is so strong they need to secure all the fenders. At 8:45pm they are off to night sailing. 

 

Namgil- the sea at night is so scary but captivating -  
Namgil : captain, are you alright ? what do you see ? 
Gyupil: ah..yes. maybe i was too focused i don't see anything 

 

Gyupil let Namgil to take over , because he was really nervous driving.

At 9:30, they want to eat again. 

Fried chicken they confiscated from the staff for a treat !!
