City_Couples_Way_of_Love-_My_Lovely_CameI am excited for this pairing of Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won. December is the perfect time of the year to wind things down , relax and enjoy a sweet romance. While JCW and KJW will headline the show, the drama also showcases the romance of two other couples. Kim Min Suk from Because This Is My First Life and Soo Joo Yeon ( that cute doctor from Romantic Teacher Dr Kim 2) will be one of the other couples.

The drama is produced by Kakao TV - so this will be a short form web(digital) drama that will also air on Netflix. This set of 12 episodes (30 minutes per episode) will be the 1st of several seasons and this 1st season is called:

“My Lovable Camera Thief.”

According to this article: Source

Ji Chang Wook will be playing the role of Park Chae Won, an honest and overly passionate architect. He is a romantic who loves the city’s alleys and has a hobby of collecting hobbies. After a woman he calls the “camera thief” steals his heart one summer night and then disappears, he cannot let her go.

Kim Ji Won takes on the role of Lee Eun Oh, a freelance marketer. She sometimes puts on a different “identity” as a free-spirited woman Yoon Sun Ah. When she spontaneously decides to go someplace posing as Yoon Sun Ah, she accidentally ends up falling in love with Park Chae Won.

The drama is also known as Lovestruck in the City and the  series depicts the real love story of young people who live fiercely with "another me" in a complex city. ( Wiki)

Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won? I'm happy?

Honestly, I'm not sure whether to be happy or nervous.  JCW has not had a great selection of dramas, even though his leading ladies have all been good actresses (Won Jin Ah in 'Melting Me Sofly' and Kim Yoo Jung in 'Backstreet Rookie'). So, this time, I'm hoping for a good story as well as good casting. I do like the pairing of JCW and KJW, so here is hoping for the best!

Thanks for starting the thread @abs-oluteM!

It’s a shame really that the plot of the last two dramas have not been to my liking considering how much I like JCW.  But I think this drama story is “normal” enough, somewhat slice of life - no weird time freezing elementals nor controversy over the FL’s age appropriateness . So I am looking forward to enjoying him in a sweet drama.

True. Just because of JCW, I'm willing to at least start the drama and give it my 4 episode test.

He's a very good actor who needs a better agent to help screen his projects.

Character posters

"The Love Method of City Men and Women" depicts the real romance of young people living fiercely with another me inside a complex city. It is expected that the fast but never light love method will be combined with the colorful urban landscape to provide a different kind of fun. The first story of "The Love of the City Men and Women," which is produced in a seasonal fashion, opens with the subtitle "My Lovely Camera Thief." City men and women who dream of'Another Me' and enjoy the deviation of purity in search of happiness and love. The "true" love story of those who know how to confront their lives more honestly and actively than anyone else inspires empathy.

The poster of the character, which was released on the same day, contains different inner thoughts about love, which stimulates curiosity. Ji Chang-wook, who played the role of passionate architect Park Jae-won, looks worried. Park Jae-won has not forgotten the "camera thief" who stole her heart a year ago and disappeared like a dream of a midsummer night. Asked, "Who wants to see at this moment?" "Camera thief." "Where are you doing?" He replied, "I think I'm lost in thought with my chin in my hand in hand. While the relationship between Park Jae-won and Lee Eun-oh arouses curiosity, Kim Ji-won's bold charm as a lovely freelance marketer "Lee Eun-oh" is also noteworthy. Lee Eun-oh, who is an ordinary woman, but a rich woman is a free-spirited soul, Yoon Sun-ah. After falling in love with Park Jae-won under the name Yoon Sun-ah in a strange place where she left impulsively, she said, "What about a camera for Lee Eun-oh?When asked, "Gift. Unforgettable?" answers. The relationship between the two is intriguing.

Meanwhile, Kim Min-seok and So Ju-yeon break up into "Choi Kyung-joon" and "Seorin," respectively, to engage in romance between long-time lovers. Choi Kyung-joon, a cynical but romantic lover to my woman, said, "What do you want to say to your girlfriend? When asked, "If Lin likes it, I like it all," he answers, showing him what Seorin is like. On the other hand, "Four-dimensional girlfriend" Seorin, whose current happiness is the top priority, asked, "What's your concern with your boyfriend?" "Not really. Have I gotten too used to it?" I can feel the difference in the temperature of their romance. The real romance between Choi Kyung-joon and Seo-rin, which will detail the difference in values about life and love, and the subtle psychology that only old lovers can know,

Lastly, Han Ji-eun and Ryu Kyung-soo will play Oh Sun-young and Kang Gun, who have a vague relationship of "old girlfriend" and "old boyfriend." Oh Sun-young, a hot girl who is dating according to her instant intuition, adds to the curiosity by answering "He's the guy" to the question, "What's your favorite style?" Her insides, hidden behind her indifferent and chic look, arouse interest. On the other hand, Kang Gun, who chose "voluntary solo," asked, "What's your relationship these days?" and said, "voluntary solo. Second year," he answers, drawing attention. Kang Gun's relaxed-looking smile suggests his sly personality.

I'm a bit conflicted because I haven't been too impressed with JCW's projects lately but I like all the other cast members. To watch or not to watch? :pandathink:

Watch.  Only 30mins per episode. This one seem sweet . I wasn't impressed with his last 2 post military dramas as well. So fingers crossed for this

New still cuts . They look cute together

Wearing a military uniform, Choi Kyung-joon looks at Seorin with a honey-filled look, and Seorin answers with a bright smile. Two people who can feel the freshness of lovers. It also raises questions about how their stories will change over time. The difference in love temperature between lover Choi Kyung-joon and four-dimensional Seorin is likely to portray an unpredictable romance. It is expected to enrich the drama's narrative with empathy for reality.

Kim Min-seok and So Ju-yeon are also drawing keen attention. Kim Min-seok will shoot at women's hearts through Choi Kyung-joon, a cynical but romantic lover in the world. So Ju-yeon transforms herself into a four-dimensional "Surin," where current happiness is the top priority, and shows off her bubbly charm. The performance of the two, which will unravel the subtle psychology of their long-time lover in a three-dimensional manner, already makes us look forward to the real romance of "City Man and Woman's Love Method."

On top of that, the meeting of the production team, which is known as the Romance Dream Team, raises the expectations of drama fans. Director Park Shin-woo, who showed sensuous and sophisticated production through "It's Okay" and "Jealousy Incarnate," and writer Chung Hyun-jung, who hit the "Romance Need" series, "Discovery of Love," and "Romance Is a Bonus Book," foretells the birth of a realistic yet emotional "Life Romance."

The "City Man and Woman's Love Law" will be unveiled for the first time on Kakao TV at 5 pm on Tuesday.[Dec 22]

I might watch if it's only 30 minutes per episode then. Haha! Also, those pictures of KMS and SJY are so cute! The last time I saw KMS in a military outfit was in DoTS.

Watch the trailer for Netflix Kdrama ‘Lovestruck in the City’

Lovestruck in the City is an upcoming Korean series from creators Park Shin-woo (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) and Jung Hyun-jung (Romance Is a Bonus Book).

Starring Ji Chang-wook (Healer, The K2, Suspicious Partner) and Kim Ji-won (Fight For My Way, Descendents of the Sun), Lovestruck in the City follows Park Jae-won, a passionate architect, who loses his heart to a free-spirited woman and sets out to reunite with her on the streets of Seoul.

Architect Jae-won (Ji Chang-wook) goes on a surfing trip to Jeju Island where he falls in love with Sun-ah (Kim Ji-won) at the beach.

Smitten by her, he extends his trip for a month longer before returning to Seoul for business and the couple makes a promise to reunite at a bridge in Seoul.

On the night of the reunion, Sun-ah doesn’t show up.

Jae-won instead receives a text message saying that they should not see each other again and that she stole three of his cameras.

Then one day, Jae-won meets Sun-ah by chance and reports her to the police. But her name wasn’t Sun-ah and he finds that everything he knew about her was a lie.

Who is she? Why did she lie to him?

Find out the mystery in Lovestruck in the City on 22 December, only on Netflix.

    What to look forward to:

    Spoiler

Ji Chang Wook, who plays a passionate and romantic architect named Park Jae Won, said, “The drama is about love and about people. It shows the realistic stories of dating between lovers who have different opinions about love. Jae Won and Eun Oh come from different perspectives, and the conflict between them is interesting. I enjoyed working on the drama because it was a new format. I’m looking forward to seeing how it comes out, and I’m excited and nervous. I hope that people will look forward to it, since it’s something that I’ve never tried before.”

Kim Ji Won plays Lee Eun Oh, a freelance marketer who adopts an alternate identity as the free-spirited “Yoon Sun Ah.” The actress said, “I think that it’s interesting how these very different characters get tangled up in each other and the stories that unfold as a result. I think that lots of people will be able to relate to the different characters and stories. We filmed in really beautiful places. I think that the landscapes will also be worth looking forward to. I also really liked the ‘interview’ format, since it felt like we were really communicating with the audience.”

    Spoiler

Kim Min Seok plays Choi Kyung Joon, a man who seems cynical to the world but is a romantic lover to his girlfriend. The actor said, “It’s an interesting drama featuring the individual stories of the six men and women of the city who live in different circumstances. From the first episode to the last, each character gives interviews from their own perspective, which add a fun element to the drama. Viewers will also be able to see me play a man who has been head-over-heels in love with one woman for a long time.”

So Ju Yeon plays Choi Kyung Joon’s long-time girlfriend, the quirky Seo Rin Yi. She said, “It’s a drama about the real love stories of adults that people can relate to. I think that various couples will be able to relate to various moments in the drama. Seo Rin Yi is a character whom people in their 20s and 30s can see part of in themselves. She knows what world she belongs in, she knows what kind of person she is, and she knows what kind of dreams she wants. It was fun to film interviews as her, looking directly into the camera. It felt like we were getting closer to the audience.”

    han-ji-eun-ryu-kyung-soo.jpg

    Spoiler

Han Ji Eun plays Oh Sun Young, who goes with her instincts and is passionate in love. She said, “Using the interview format, these men and women of the city talk honestly and relatably about their individual perspectives on love. Sun Young has a strong sense of pride and passion, but she is also tender-hearted. I think that it will be interesting to watch the drama and reflect on what kind of a person you become when you’re in love.”

Ryu Kyung Soo plays Kang Geon, a man who chooses the single life. He said, “I think the key point of ‘Lovestruck in the City’ is the unique characters with their own individual colors. It’s fun to try and see which one is the most like you. Kang Geon seems like he doesn’t care about other people, but he’s gentle, and he seems very rational, but he’s also lacking in a lot of areas.”

Yay , 1st eps  was cute. For 30 mins , it was an easy watch. The story is told in flashbacks & in the form of interviews . The characters narrate their stories & share their perspectives about relationships and how they see the opposite sex. As expected we got to see Jae Won (JCW) and Eun Oh's (KJW)'s story first . In the present they have broken up but clearly this was the relationship that left an indelible mark on their dating history . While they didn't regret dating each other , his memories of her on what seemed like a whirlwind romance or perhaps holiday fling was more negative compared to how she still thinks of him.

But anyhow I am jumping the gun...the episode basically looked at how Jae Won had gone on a beach holiday and was picked up by Eun Oh at the airport.  EO was working for part time for her friend who owned a bar/ guest house that was hosting JW's stay. EO is clearly a free spirit and in Jae Won's  words a crazy sort of girl. She was spontaneous and friendly , and within minutes of picking him up , she got him to take his license to drive the RV camper he was supposed to use as his accommodation. He had come to surf. While she found him very attractive as soon as she saw him, he fell for her quite quickly as well.

The bar that EO works for part time is the place to be for most beach goers - JW comes by for a night of fun , and it doesn't take too long for them to start paying close attention to each other. The episode ends on a magical note with fireworks and all :MewGiggle:. Look out for Lee Sang Yun and  Lee Sang Woo's cameo !

Looking forward to Friday to see how their romance took off.
