[by any chance have you got any news on My Wife is a Thief?]

No news on this yet. It finished filming around the same time as Be My Princess so I feel like it'll air soon. Tang Xiaotian is relatively a popular actor, I can't see them push it off for another year.

@abs-oluteM I know! I was so bummed when I realized that wasn't his voice. I told my friend it should always be written in his contract that he has to use his real voice.

sigh.... it keeps saying Coming soon on iQiyi and it's been saying that since December last year

the VO isn't too bad, but it's terribly obvious that the trademark voice is missing.

I don't see IQIYI doing much promo though I have reserved it on my IQIYI

But it looks like in SEA, We TV managed to wrangle airing rights for this show at the last minute.

Hahaah the admin of this twitter has a sense of humour

@abs-oluteM indeed, what a cute opening! I hope her (the FL's) acting has improved since the days of Ms Truth. I don't know if it was the script or the character or her acting back then. To be fair to her, she was a relative newbie then and I hope she will make a statement for herself in this show. Or else, there's always the Prince to fall back on! He certainly ought to be the saving grace.

I just hope the show doesn't go downhill like Love Script...the two have a rather similar sypnosis..

I saw this and thought it was cute! Liang Yi passing the baton to Mu Tingzhou. Haha!

I watched the first episode and Jeremy is so handsome. He looked great in his modern clothes and even better in his historical clothes. :wow:

I watched the first six episodes and so far, I am enjoying it. The female lead is not bad, she's pretty decent. Jeremy is great as always. This gif below capture what I looked like as I was watching Jeremy the entire time.

Both leads are actors who are filming a historical drama/movie together. The historical parts are intertwine with the modern parts -- it moves from their scenes in the historical set-up to their modern day life. Whatever that historical drama/movie is, it's sooooooo sad. I did not sign up to watch another sad historical drama from Jeremy after what happened in The Autumn Ballad! :niu:

From episode 1-5, Mu Tingzhou and Ming Wei are filming their historical drama/movie and getting to know each other. At the end of filming, both have developed feelings for each other but refuse to act on them. The accident where Mu Tingzhou lose his memories does not occur until the end of episode 5. It was funny to watch Mu Tingzhou or I guess "taifu" tell Ming Wei she's a gongzhu and is bring brainwashed to think she's Ming Wei. :lmao2:

For now, I'll continue watching because Jeremy is easy on the eyes and I think both leads look good together too -- the historical parts are sad and the modern parts are sweet (full of sugar haha!).

I caught 3 episodes and I enjoyed it especially the 3rd one.

Jeremy plays an award winning actor, Mu TingZhou , who is absolutely devoted to his craft - does method acting , plenty of research. Quite the diva but only because he wishes not to spend precious time on frivolous things.  So socialising is out of the question , and he does the minimum to engage with his fans.  By chance he comes across rookie actress, Ming Wei,  played by Zhou Jie Qiong while she was modelling for a photoshoot and realises that she has the perfect vibe to be his next leading lady. Long story short she got casted and so they start working together.

Despite her lack of experience, Ming Wei proves to be a talented actress and after some initial hiccups, along with some acting tips from him, MW starts realising her potential. Now this is what I really find unique about this show. We actually get to see a drama within a drama. We get to see the development of their characters in the historical romance that they are starring in - and interestingly in these roles they have very good chemistry. In fact the sets they use are so beautiful especially when watching at 1080P on IQIYI. Am quite impressed that the leads give very different vibes in the drama they are acting in vs what they are in present time.

As colleagues in "real life" , there's surprisingly not much bickering between the two ( a popular trope for rom-coms) . Fair enough she's junior and a rookie in the industry , so has plenty of respect for him. He came across as rather fussy and hard to please, but he helped her quite a bit and has shown to have a soft spot for her. A lot of the drama is really coming from the other characters. Ming Wei's ex boyfie of one month who cheated on her,  is one of the investors for the drama ( though she didn't get the role due to him), who wants her back. Then there's another actor on set , whose been very kind to her and I am guessing will also be a love interest.

The funniest scene so far (up to eps 3) was when MTZ wanted to "provoke emotions" and rehearse for a kiss scene. He used the excuse as wanting to help her since she's the newbie here...but the truth was that he's never done kiss scenes before and was nervous himself.

@IpohBanana I like it! Check out at least a few episodes

@Tofu the historical set is so lavish and the historical show they were acting in had such a tragic plot...I was actually so invested in the story. They can actually do a proper drama for this.

I wasn't sure how they were going to portray both the historical and modern parts, but I think it was done well too. Both are woven in together really nicely.

Outside of this scene, I died laughing when he pulled off the protective film he put on his lips after their kiss scene. Hahahaha! Only Mu Tingzhou can think of something like this to "protect" himself. :lmao2:
