The upcoming MBC drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff” released a new poster!

Based on a popular novel, “The Red Sleeve Cuff” is a traditional historical drama that tells the record of an imperial court romance between a court lady who wanted to protect the life she had chosen and an emperor who put the nation first before love.

 

Junho stars as Yi San, the direct descendant and eldest grandson of the king, who will later become King Jeongjo. Lee Se Young stars as Seong Deok Im, a court lady who wants to make her own decisions about life rather than be one of the king’s many women.

In the newly released poster, Yi San and Seong Deok Im are each in their own space. Seong Deok Im sits inside the library, while Yi San is separated from her by a thin sheet of cloth. The scene appears to be conveying the distance in status between the eldest grandson to the king and a court lady. The text above them reads, “The king loved the court lady. Did the court lady love the king?”

 

Although their eyes don’t meet, the two people seem to be aware of each other’s presence, creating a heart-fluttering thrill. Yi San appears to fondly glance at Seong Deok Im through the thin fabric, while Seong Deok Im makes effort to ignore his gaze. Despite the static atmosphere, their feelings can’t help but waver, making viewers curious about the upcoming romance and chemistry between the two actors.

saw it early in twitter but was a bit busy to post anything here.

I watched a few couple of times already. 

JH has that smirk a signature after his military discharge. rather chic smirk at that...!

 

Kind of interesting that the thing that made him smile/smirk is what she had written...

so it was her brains and writing skills that made him attracted...?

Yi San suddenly appears in front of Seong Deok Im when she’s about to leave the library, making her flustered from almost bumping into him. Seong Deok Im takes a few steps back while Yi San observes her with a sharp gaze, approaching her one step at a time. Yi San breaks into an unexpected smile after reading the letter of apology from Seong Deok Im, and she responds with a mischievous smile of her own. He continues to narrate, “However, now I’m not so sure. You make me waver. This will be troublesome.”

 

The teaser of the prickly and arrogant Yi San gradually growing attached to the ambitious Seong Deok Im previews the upcoming romance to come. Already, viewers are looking forward to the sweet romantic chemistry between Junho and Lee Se Young.

MBC's upcoming new Fri-Sat drama series 'The Red Sleeve' has unveiled its 2nd teaser, giving viewers a glimpse of the heart-fluttering story known by many as the most romantic royal tale of the Joseon era. 

 

Based off of a bestselling novel of the same name, 'The Red Sleeve' is a fictional retelling of the story of King Jeongjo of Joseon and the concubine he loved, Royal Noble Consort Sung. 2PM's Junho will be returning to greet viewers on the small-screen as King Jeongjo or Lee San, while Lee Se Young will be working alongside Junho as the royal concubine Sung Duk Im.

 

In the 2nd teaser above, the king of Joseon grows ever so curious about one concubine with a talent for writing, Sung Duk Im. More of this historical love story will be told in stunning detail in MBC's upcoming new series 'The Red Sleeve', premiering next month on November 5.

I like the message/symbolism in this teaser. 

 

it starts off with Lee San as crown prince in the throne room/hall, in his royal bravado.

....yet so alone

The new teaser shows Yi San inside the royal palace. He is sitting quietly under the throne as he reads the people’s complaints. His face is shadowed with seriousness, and he exudes loneliness. Seong Deok Im’s voiceover shares that the court ladies talk about how he’s like a goblin or a tiger, highlighting his unapproachable aura.

 

Night falls, and it’s pitch-black, but Yi San is still sitting alone in the same place. He seems exhausted, but he strives to fulfill the expectations of his grandfather King Yeongjo (Lee Deok Hwa).

 

However, the room brightens with the appearance of Seong Deok Im as she gently places a candle on his table. Her voiceover says, “I think differently,” hinting she doesn’t think he’s a goblin or a tiger. Yi San’s expression softens as the ends of his lips curl up, and she smiles back as her voiceover continues, “I, a mere court lady, will protect you.”

or the the brothers bath scene in ML.

and I have vivid memories of those scenes... hehehehe
