Tofu
It seems like Cha Woong and Seul Hae might have been lovers (or knew each other) in their past life. Spoiler Hahaha -- I wonder if that's how I look like when I attempt any sort of idol dance? 2 Link to comment
stroppyse
This drama is definitely quirky. I also wonder if CW and SH knew each other in a previous life or something. Anyway, in this lifetime, it seems that the granddaughter or another shaman thinks that she's going to marry CW. In that sense, she's kind of annoying, though I think there is more to the story and that policeman seems quite taken with her, so I hope that she gets over CW soon. Interesting how CW doesn't have to actually practice as a shaman as long as he's earning "virtue" points for the General. And, SH apparently scores extremely high for virtue, which is unusual. Also, the General commented something to the effect that CW and SH are the same, so that also makes me think that there was something between CW and SH in a previous life time. I know that SH will solve her father's murder somehow. I just hope that it wasn't his partner who ultimately did him in. CW and SW continue to be interesting together, especially when they're squabbling, however, it's still the ghosts who make this drama come alive. Ep 3 and 4 were a bit more hit and miss on the ghosts, though that one of two of them karaoke-ing to idol songs rather than attending the meeting was pretty hilarious. 2 Link to comment
Tofu
With some of the dramas I'm watching (and some I've finished), one of the things I disliked is the drama presenting an issue but not giving any information after it's introduced. It would repeatedly tell the audience this is an issue, but does not go into details with it. I love that this drama is the opposite of those! We learn what happened between Seul Hae's dad and Cha Woong's haraboji that night with the Full Moon Killer. Seul Hae's dad and Cha Woong's haraboji were partners, similarly to Seul Hae and Cha Woong. Haraboji was after the evil spirit whereas, Seul Hae's dad was after the human (he was possessed by the evil spirit but he was already evil himself). The second male lead's dad was there too, but for selfish reasons (he wanted to catch the killer for a promotion). They almost caught the evil spirit and the killer, but ultimately, they were drained of energy and couldn't. The second male lead's dad tried to shooting the killer, who fell into the water. I have no idea what would have made the second male lead's dad lie about what happened. He didn't do anything wrong that night, he just couldn't catch the killer. I really hope it's not a pride issue, because that's pretty pathetic if that's the reason why he lied to Seul Hae all those years. @mademoiselle Please come back. The General Spirit is a lot better now that Aris (the idol he likes) turned out to be someone addicted to drugs. However, prepare yourself because when Dalgu's hyung was crying for his loss, it made me tear up. Between Tomorrow and this, why do they introduce animals just to tell us a sad story. Tofu
@SilverMoonTea The villain in this drama was the funny coworker in MMH. Because of that character, I can't take him seriously as the villain here. BTS with English Subs. 2 Link to comment
mademoiselle
I'm still here @Tofu, and just finished with episode 6. You were right, I was soooo good not shedding a single tear (even when FL was bawling her eyes out about her father) until Dalgu's scene. We've sent off so many pet dogs since I was young (plus the babies that didn't make it) and it's never easy, which is one of the reasons why I refuse to keep any pets. I cannot bear more heartbreaks. I'm glad the truth is out and the misunderstanding is cleared for both leads. I still don't like the spirti General guy though. 3 Link to comment

I'm caught up as well, but I couldn't help but tear up at Dalgu and his hyung. This drama is cute, but it hasn't really grabbed me for some reason. As in, I can wait to watch the episodes rather than being eager to watch. I'm glad that CW and SH were able to clear up their misunderstandings about each other's father figure and have decided to stay partnered up. I also am a bit wishy-washy on the general. For a 2000 year old inhabiting spirit, he seems to be portrayed more like a virgin ghost. I don't dislike him, but he seems to have a limited role. So far, he's been the mechanism to convince CW to join the civilian patrol, and was also able to reveal the true relationship between CW's grandfather and SH's father. He doesn't really work as comic relief either, unlike the other ghosts. And his infatuation with Aris was rather silly. 1 hour ago, Tofu said: What do you guys think about the device to talk to ghosts? I actually thought it was rather silly, but convenient since the ghosts will now be able to talk with SH directly rather than going through CW. It was amusing how hand-wavey the creation of it was. Then again, I suppose none of it really makes that much sense. And, perhaps it's better just to say "hey, it's here" rather than try to give it some veneer of a real creation. I miss my dog, even after all of this time. 1 Link to comment

Tofu
I look forward to this drama every weekend because it's one of the few lighter dramas I'm watching. Cha Woong is getting less prickly now that he's around Seul Hae. I can't believed he asked his rival for ideas to impress a girl. I would have never thought I would see a scene like that because of how big his ego is. The birthday scene was so chaotic and cute -- two words I would use to describe this drama. Haha! Everyone is aware that the Full Moon killer is back. They are all going to work together to capture him, but it won't be an easy task. The evil spirit possessing the human body has a past with Seul Hae, Cha Woong, and the General. Not too much was shared, but from what I gathered he was in love with Seul Hae's past life. He blames Cha Woong's past life for her death, but it seems like he (the evil spirit) was the reason for it -- his hatred and jealousy. Now that we're getting closer to the end, I'm assuming the next few episodes will show us more about what happened in their past life. My theory is that Seul Hae and Cha Woon were lovers and the evil spirit was someone who also loved Seul Hae. New OST. 3 Link to comment

mademoiselle
@SilverMoonTea @Tofu I'm... dropping this. I tried to watch last week's episode but the bowling scenes drove me bonkers. It's not even funny. 1 2 1 Link to comment
Tofu
@mademoiselle Hahaha! I skipped majority of that scene. I think sometimes the joke goes on for a bit longer that it becomes a bit too much. I'm committed to finishing all the dramas I've started...except I'm a bit exhausted with the other dramas mademoiselle and I are watching. Thankfully, that one ends this weekend! 1 2 Link to comment

I found the initial episodes really entertaining, but have been feeling the pacing is off in the later episodes. I haven't even gotten to the bowling scenes you speak of, but it does not make me want to catch up on the episodes anytime soon. Since this writer had also written 'Mystic Pop-Up Bar', I had high expectations, but I keep feeling my attention wandering. I may keep reading this thread for updates, then binge all the episodes once it's finished airing. Though, I realize that means that I won't be contributing anything to this thread. Tofu
@mademoiselle @SilverMoonTea @stroppyse It's ok! I don't mind watching this by myself. I know the most recent episodes have lost the momentum it had at the beginning. I still find it enjoyable and it's one of the better Park Hae Jin drama in recent years. Cha Woong, somehow, was able to use the power of his past life to remove the evil spirit from the human host. While doing so, he lost his energy and fell into a coma. After a month, he still has not woke up. The doctor confirmed he does not have brain damage but is in a very deep REM sleep. Cha Woong is dreaming about his past life so much of today's episode focused on the history between both leads -- how they met, fell in love, etc. The evil spirit is a prince from another kingdom, who I'm assuming wanted to marry the princess (Seul Hae's past life), but she was engaged to someone else (Cha Woong's past life). Seul Hae has finally been granted her transfer into the detective team, but she's hesitant to accept because of Cha Woong. She's worried that she'll be too busy and not have enough time to visit him in the hospital. By the way, after that battle with the evil spirit, Seul Hae also gain some of her past life's abilities so she's able to see ghosts now. The preview for tomorrow's episode shows that Cha Woong will wake up and probably confess his feelings. =) Episode 10 BTS 3 Link to comment
mademoiselle
@Tofu I watched the scene where he sealed the evil spirit away. Hahaha. It seems like E9-10 must a filler since only in E11 that they were able to remove the evil spirit. That said, what else they are going to fill for the rest of the episodes? Is there a bigger evil out there? Or the bigger villain is the politician and/or her crush's police father? I'd have been more interested to watch the rest of E11 if I hadn't seen some weird (modern) behaviours from FL's past life - like holding a banner, chanting Poong Bae's name like a fan club supporting an idol. 2 Link to comment

Tofu
In episode 12, the evil spirit did not get locked away like I originally thought. Instead, it was transferred to Hee Soo when he captured the Full Moon killer. This episode was basically just wrapping up how they died in their past life. The General played a part because he lied about Cha Woong (his past life) committing treason. It was the General's brother who did it but to protect his brother, he lied. At the end of the episode, Seul Hae started her new job as a detective. New OST. Link to comment
