Wow, I didn't know that Junho was a b-boy! :duckhearts: Wonder if he can still do those moves???

yeah, those are B-boy moves.

but what he does along with his 2pm members are more of dancing and then acrobatics.

When 2pm was being formed, Jay (Jaebum Park) was already considered a shoo-in for the group. He was the true b-boy. I think the producers got inspired by him and thought that in a sea pretty boy kpop scene, they can stand out by being more than pretty boys.

So they challenged and told the boys that they need to successfully do acrobatics, if they wanted to debut.

The members took it to heart. So even if their bodies were not really meant for acrobatics (Taec is as so inflexible, and that was even during their active days).

Thus they practiced to do all the tumbling, hand stands and head stands and etc so that they will be allowed to debut. and those are usually showcased as one of the "highlights" of their concerts.

So its dancing + acrobatic moves. and incorporate the B-boy moves.

And in the group, JH is the best acrobat .

Spoiler

For the tumbling and other acrobatic moves. They still usually do it in 2pm concerts; and Junho does it in his solo concerts before their hiatus.

They call it risking their lives, the acrobatics and tumbling that they do.

They had many injuries because of it

And it really applies to Junho much more so.

He fractured his spine after a bad fall upon tumbling. and he also had trauma plus the  repeated mini trauma over the years stressed his spine. He was diagnosed and told that dancing would be impossible for him.

But good thing he recovered.

And for Junho specifically, the last broadcast he did some tumbling was in Happy Together. The episode when he and Namgoong Min were part of the guest for/after Chief Kim, around 2017.

And as of the present, the members (Wooyoung, chansung, Nichkhun and Jun.K) were asked this (if they can still do acrobatics?) in one of their contents.

Two of the members (JK, NK) said they can't do it anymore, cause it is dangerous and they are older; while WY & CS said that they can probably still do it, but states they need to practice for it again.

For Junho, he answered a fan tweet after his discharge that he can still do the moves from Strong Heart... So the Bboy moves and acrobatics, he can still do it...

Lee Junho’s Calmness

Living in Busan?

Junho: due to drama filming in Busan for two months. The production is “Just Between Lovers”.

What point are you attracted to?

Junho: the script gave a large tranquil feeling. It is about the pain a person went through living due to an accident, it is a script that does not require extreme emotions but just well-conveyed emotion. I have once wanted to act this type of role. I have shown a huge movement and enthusiasm in my previous work “Chief Kim” and this time, it is completely different.

You have written on Instagram that “I am now Kangdoo”. What type of person is Kangdoo?

Junho: when I first read the script, I thought that Kangdoo gives off the feeling of a stray cat. With his aimless life, the most important thing was to be able to live pass every day. He lived his life dangerously until he met Ha Moonsoo (Won Jin Ah).

How do you feel about a man living in slums?

Junho: words have became very little. The director hoped that Kangdoo is expressionless but a diverse type of expressionless. Additionally be emotionally devastated. I went to a wedding ceremony a while back and I was confused for a while. The feeling that I was not supposed to be present there.

You are very passionate about taking part in the entire process of your album and performances. What did you start from for this role?

Junho: when I was acting in “Chief Kim”, I went into the character of a villain and stayed at home alone. This time I did not prepare it that way. When there was no filming at Busan, I would stay in the room alone as I was having activities for my album too so it was tiring. It created a great situation for Kangdoo’s devastated image. Haha.

Even though you have your own approach for the character, isn’t it a little too swayed for your character?

Junho: I feel that it is the perfect and the way to grasp the character. Even if it is according to my framework, I am still the person acting it. Hence it is not tiring for me emotionally. It was very fun while filming the movie “Twenty”. It was also great to see myself like a fool.

You would compose whenever you have free days, did you get any inspirations during this production?

Junho: lonely and gloomy emotions. Emotions that I feel normally would be in the songs in a straightforward manner and the recent songs that I have wrote were slightly gloomy. They are greatly different from my previous works.

When do you feel the most happy in a day?

Junho: there is a sandbag in the dorm that I stayed in Busan. I released my stress by exercising and punching the sandbag.

What is one background song for Kangdoo that is from either your solo album or 2PM’s song?

Junho: a mini album that was previously released with the title track “Canvas” is very suitable. “If I do not have you, I am just like a crumpled piece of paper”, Kangdoo’s life without dreams and drive is just like the lyrics and Moonsoo added in the colours.

What is the song that is a suitable BGM to Lee Junho this person who walks on the road?

Junho: Daft Punk’s ‘Something about us”. Similar to this song, I like calm and dreamy melody, even though there were ups and downs, it seems to flow well too.

You have debuted as an actor through ‘Cold Eyes’, and you have told ‘ELLE’ in an interview that “even though I am very happy to have 2PM activities, I have a strong desire to get recognised as ‘Junho'”. Are you eager to be an actor?

Junho: I have the strong desire to be able to say my own perfect productions. I want to be able to hear “Lee Junho, he did it right” in all the productions that I have taken part as an actor. I hope to be able to do everything well. Haha.

What if you get praises from senior actors like Sol Kyung-gu, Jeon Do-yeon and Lee Sung-min?

Junho: After hearing it I will be able to catch the onsite film and changes quickly. Currently, I am filming with senior Na Mun Hee and she said, “you did well in acting kind. While acting, you need to be kind no matter what.” Is that a way to show care to the actors or with the character’s personality? Or is there any other meanings to it? I am currently troubling about this.

“Just Between Lovers” is your first lead drama. From an idol star to receiving recognition through your acting. All these has arrived for you.

Junho: Even though it is possible to become the lead at a quicker pace, but I wanted to let everyone to see my sincerity in acting first. I always have great desires to act well. If we eat something nice too early, the other food will become boring. This is the same too. If unsafe to have a bigger character first, it will be tire out too easily. This year, I have debuted aas singer for 10 years, when I get the role of the main lead at this time, it feels like I’m starting afresh.

Oct 6, 2021 | by S. Nam

2PM’s Junho and Lee Se Young’s upcoming drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff” released a heart-fluttering new teaser!

Based on a popular novel, “The Red Sleeve Cuff” is a traditional historical drama that tells the record of an imperial court romance between a court lady who wanted to protect the life she had chosen and an emperor who put the nation first before love.

Junho stars as Yi San, the direct descendant and eldest grandson of the king, who will later become King Jeongjo. Lee Se Young stars as Seong Deok Im, a court lady who wants to make her own decisions about life rather than be one of the king’s many women.

The new teaser captures Yi San’s perspective on how he views court lady Seong Deok Im. The preview begins with Seong Deok Im picking out flowers as Yi San narrates, “You are but one of numerous court ladies, and I didn’t think you were even slightly important.” However, Yi San’s arrogance soon breaks as he begins to see the special and lovable nature of Seong Deok Im, who is more beautiful than any wild flower, has a smile warmer than the sun, and exudes elegance as she enjoys writing in the library.

Yi San suddenly appears in front of Seong Deok Im when she’s about to leave the library, making her flustered from almost bumping into him. Seong Deok Im takes a few steps back while Yi San observes her with a sharp gaze, approaching her one step at a time. Yi San breaks into an unexpected smile after reading the letter of apology from Seong Deok Im, and she responds with a mischievous smile of her own. He continues to narrate, “However, now I’m not so sure. You make me waver. This will be troublesome.”

The teaser of the prickly and arrogant Yi San gradually growing attached to the ambitious Seong Deok Im previews the upcoming romance to come. Already, viewers are looking forward to the sweet romantic chemistry between Junho and Lee Se Young.

“The Red Sleeve Cuff” premieres on November 5 and will be available on Viki. Watch the full teaser below!

2PM’s Junho Lights Up When He Sees Lee Se Young In “The Red Sleeve Cuff” Teaser

2PM’s Junho and Lee Se Young’s upcoming drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff” released another teaser!

The new teaser shows Yi San inside the royal palace. He is sitting quietly under the throne as he reads the people’s complaints. His face is shadowed with seriousness, and he exudes loneliness. Seong Deok Im’s voiceover shares that the court ladies talk about how he’s like a goblin or a tiger, highlighting his unapproachable aura.

Night falls, and it’s pitch-black, but Yi San is still sitting alone in the same place. He seems exhausted, but he strives to fulfill the expectations of his grandfather King Yeongjo (Lee Deok Hwa).

However, the room brightens with the appearance of Seong Deok Im as she gently places a candle on his table. Her voiceover says, “I think differently,” hinting she doesn’t think he’s a goblin or a tiger. Yi San’s expression softens as the ends of his lips curl up, and she smiles back as her voiceover continues, “I, a mere court lady, will protect you.”

“The Red Sleeve Cuff” premieres on November 5 and will be available on Viki. Watch the full teaser below!

[Eng Trans] 2PM Junho KPOP News Magazine (Interview)

dan8npbxcaahpq0.jpg?w=775

Profile

Born on 25 January 1990. Debut in a boy band called 2PM in 2008. After 2011, there are activities in Japan simultaneously. As an actor with works such as drama <Memory> (2016), movies <Cold Eyes> (2013), <Twenty> (2015), <Memories of the Sword> (2015) etc.

Junho (2PM)

[Choosing the villain route on purpose in order to develop further hence I chose this drama]

Prepared meticulously for the filming, beautifully done up image even when the character was difficult

Junho acted in a role, where he was against the protagonist, as a bad tempered prosecutor Seoyul. With this role, he managed to gain lots of favourable comments. Even though it is just the second official drama that he has participated, he challenged a difficult role and ultimately achieved good results.

“I want to widen my acting career, choosing the villain route on purpose in order to develop further hence I chose this drama. However, Seoyul is a character who has a mindset of “not crossing beyond the limits”.  Maybe the audience will feel that it has crossed the limits, but if we were to look at the limits of other common “villains”, it is a little different. It is a character with different dimensions. I feel that this is a very charming point, if it can be properly portrayed, it will be a very big reward for me. With this in mind, I challenged this role.”

In order to build up the image of a neurotic elite, “a meal a day” was already maintained before the filming. Other than that, there were also lots of meticulous preparation.

“As this character has a nickname called Mukso (Gluttonous Sociopath), thus I will eat and read my line at home. If the lines are not delivered clearly then it would not be able to convey the line’s meaning. Hence I will be very particular about the pronunciation. In order to portray the loneliness of Seoyul, I tried very hard to avoid interacting with people. I hope not to just mimic the characteristic but instead thinking very hard about the way to become the real Seoyul. Simultaneously acting and worrying about the ways to use the expression in one’s eyes and hand gestures, movements, walking style etc to showcase the character of Seoyul.”

Found out some common points when building the character’s image

“The part that we are common in is… being ambitious (laughs). This type of ambitious, or you can say the attitude of working hard for your dreams, is very similar to me. However, Seoyul in the drama is someone who will ignore his surroundings and achieve his own goals, and even crush others just to achieve his own goals. For this point it is different from me.”

Even though Junho’s sense of presence did not lose to the acting skills of other senior actors due to his meticulous preparation that supported his excellent acting skills, he still went through lots of tough times at the filming site.

[What are the reactions of 2PM members about the character?] Chansung said, “it seems really interesting, Taecyeon said, “I would also want to try acting this.” Jun. K said really loudly, “You want to act as a villain?!” (laughs). Not limited to the members, people around also said, “villain?!” All of them had a very strong reaction.

dan8npbw0aaadau.jpg?w=775

The hottest chief in Korea now is…

“Initially I felt very stress because this looks like a bad character who is very self-centered and looks down on others. Hence when filming I would need to speak impolitely to very senior actors, or using my fingers to point at people etc. However as I got into the character, I actually felt more comfortable. When filming, I felt a certain type of “immoral venting”. Even with this type of attitude, Seoyul will be polite in front of his one-sided love character, Yoon Ha Kyung (acted by Nam Sang Mi). I feel that from this I am able to see the character’s personality.”

Together with Kim Sung Ryeong acted by Nam Goong Min, there are several scenes that interesting yet filled with lots of tensions. This is also one of the attractive points of this drama.

“When I first met sunbae, he felt very young maybe due to his young looks. It didn’t feel like there will be a huge age gap between us. I just thought that he will be one to two years older than me. It shocked me when I realised that he is a senior who is 12 years older than me. However be it appearance or internal feelings, he is very cool with treating me like a friend.”

[Eng Trans] 2PM Junho Hanryu Pia June Issue Magazine (Interview)

img_20170527_134406.jpg?w=775

Profile:

Born in 1990-01-25, 2PM’s lead vocal, after debuting as an actor from <Cold Eyes> (2013), acting in <Twenty>, potraying a sweet and bitter young story, as Dongwoo, catching the attention of the public. After which challenging himself through acting in his first drama <Memory>. As a singer, with the schedule of an actor, he is an artiste who can expand his career very much.

Spoiler

img_20170527_134404.jpg?w=775

Junho (2PM)

Started as an actor for 4 years. Starting from the movie <Cold Eyes> to <Twenty> <Memories of the Sword>, having 2PM music at the same time, Junho who is being down to earth and gaining experiences. His first drama <Memory>, is his new challenge as actor Junho.

img_20170527_134412.jpg?w=775

As 2PM’s lead vocal, and even having solo debut in Japan, Junho’s activities are very dazzling. However, ‘singer Junho’ isn’t the complete thing, he still has a side as an actor. Ever since after <Cold Eyes> in 2013, there are several acting activities for Junho and finally there was a chance for a drama. We can safely say that <Memory> is a drama that shows his existence as an actor.

『At that time, I was filming the drama and at the same time, preparing 2PM’s concert, hence the schedule was very tight. However even so, the filming site had a very good atmosphere hence I didn’t feel tired at all. Within the 3 months, the actors and staff became one and focused on filming. After the filming ended, there was a period of time when I was still in the character of Jung Jin, that feeling was rather extraordinary.』

Jung Jin, the character that Junho acted as, is a new lawyer who is full of passion and justice. Initially he was against lawyer Taesuk  hi thereafter became someone who understands him better than anyone else, and was someone who stood by his side.

『Jung Jin’s social circle isn’t very good, he is a youngster who is unable to adapt to the surroundings. Initially he portrayed as someone who doesn’t know well about the society hence I was a little afraid if the character was not popular among the audience. However even so, after Jung Jin and Park Taesuk came together, they had a very deep friendship. Accepting Park Sung Min sunbae’s advice, in order to act as a humane Jung Jin, there is a need to have the thought of ‘imperfection, is there something missing somewhere’, and acting this way.』

Even though you have the experience as a movie actor, but that was the first time acting in a drama. Even so, Junho portrayed very strong will.

『No matter what, I don’t want to give the work a bad influence. Be it as an idol or a new actor, if the acting skills are not good, accepting criticism is the most fundamental thing. However debuting as an idol, people’s attention on you will be much stricter. Even though this is my own personal opinion, I feel that if the actor is able to portray the character fully, the end work will have good results. Especially when I have a scene with Park Sung Min sunbae, I wanted to act it out in the more natural way. Even though Jung Jin is a very strong character in the script, but this is just giving the character a life on the paper. It is the actor’s job to portray the real character, hence using lots of effort to portray that.』

When asked about the cooperation between Park Sung Min, he used a word to describe it happily – best.

『Just based on looking at the way Park Sung Min sunbae acts, one is able to learn a lot, even when it is just watching him act from his back. It is even better when we act together. Sunbae once said, “Junho ya, want to practice the lines together?” Hence the both of us drank coffee and practiced our lines together, always practicing on the lines. I think that is one of the biggest reasons that managed to help me to act them out so naturally.』

If so, how will this work be something that Junho can remember about?

『I will feel that this will be my best drama debut. In this drama, I have really learnt a lot. I managed to learn things other than movie filming, and it is a very good experience as I managed to work with very respectable actors. Even though the popularity of the drama is important, but I do not think that the end result is everything. For my own opinion, my life’s song is 2PM’s debut song, my life’s movie is <Cold Eyes> and this my life’s drama will be <Memory>.』

Recently Junho acted as a villain character through a second drama called <Chief Kim> and managed to get a lot of attention.

『During my trainee period, “sincerity will work” is a sentence that I always keep in my mind. The acting or music making that I’m doing now are things that I have always wanted to do since long ago. During my trainee period, there were also several other trainees. At that time, I wasn’t someone who was very outstanding, hence whenever I would want to comfort myself, I will always keep this sentence in my heart. No matter what happens, I always believe that with sincerity, the results will be different. Hence if the results weren’t good from the start, also believe in praying with sincerity to make them happen. Up till now, I still have this mentality.』

2PM’s Junho Talks About His Chemistry With Lee Se Young And Lee Deok Hwa In “The Red Sleeve Cuff”

dummy.jpeg?s=900x600&e=t

Oct 8, 2021 | by C. Hong

2PM’s Junho talked about his upcoming drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff” and his work with his co-stars!

“The Red Sleeve Cuff” is a new traditional historical drama from MBC about the imperial court romance between a court lady who wanted to protect the life she had chosen and an emperor who put the nation first before love. Junho stars as Yi San, the direct descendant and eldest grandson of King Yeongjo (Lee Deok Hwa), who will later become King Jeongjo. Lee Se Young stars as Seong Deok Im, a court lady who wants to make her own decisions about life instead of being one of the king’s many women.

This is Junho’s first drama since his discharge from mandatory military service. Asked why he chose the project, he said, “The script was really interesting. It felt really comfortable and smooth to read.”

King Jeongjo is one of the most popular kings in the Joseon dynasty, which spanned 500 years. Junho said, “It’s true that I felt a sense of pressure about playing this character. He was someone who was always warm to the peasants but extremely strict to the people in the palace. I wanted to keep that immaculate inner side of him intact, but did my best to portray my own kind of Yi San as well. I’m also grateful that the costumes help bring the character to life. I hope that viewers will like the sight of me in royal robes.”

Junho also talked about how his character differed from the book that the drama is based on. “When I read the original book, Yi San is always seen from the perspective of Seong Deok Im,” he said. “So it’s hard to get a grasp on his feelings or his humane side. I think that the drama will show Yi San from more angles and you can learn more about his inner character.”

About the chemistry between him and his co-stars, he said, “Thanks to Lee Se Young, I’m able to film very comfortably. For a variety of reasons, she’s an actress that I match well with.” He added, “Lee Deok Hwa is an actor who is a good role model for his juniors. He’s always cheerful and makes the atmosphere on set brighter with his laughter. When our eyes meet while filming, it feels like we’ve slipped naturally into our roles as King Yeongjo and Jeongjo.” About Kang Hoon, with whom his character has a bromance, he said, “We have great chemistry. He’s an actor who is always thinking hard about the kind of acting he wants to show. I also think viewers should watch out for the chemistry between me and Oh Dae Hwan, who plays Kang Tae Ho.”

junho-the-red-sleeve-cuff-1.jpeg

Junho concluded, “I’m looking forward to Yi San and Seong Deok Im’s scenes in the library. The library is a meaningful place for both Yi San and Seong Deok Im, and the two make some special memories there. I think that the drama’s tagline, ‘The king loved the court lady. Did the court lady love the king?’, is the point that viewers should start at when watching the show.”

“The Red Sleeve Cuff” premieres on November 5 and will be available on Viki.

As a fangirl of 2PM and Junho since almost their debut it's always fascinating for me to read what people think of him as an actor because I recognise that I'm probably not very objective when it comes to evaluating him. Admittedly, I was nervous about him acting at first since I had no idea what to expect of him or how he would be received. I should have known the hard work he applies to music and dancing would transfer well to acting. I can honestly say I'm proud of his acting work so far, even if he still considers himself a beginner. One of my proudest moments was when my family, who know about my fangirling, recognised him in Cold Eyes and said "hey, he's pretty good".

Anyway, I'm happy to see him getting the recognition he deserves after all this time. KOFIC have even named him in their "The Actor is Present" campaign. He's come so far since I first started following him and I couldn't be happier that he's achieving his dreams one by one :)

"FAKE" INTERVIEW WITH TAECYEON AND JUNHO IN THE YEAR 2049

future+d+int..jpg

Source: Sports Joseon via NAVER

* Would 2PM Taecyeon and Junho still remain as 'beastly idols' in their sixties? Sports Joseon met Taecyeon and Junho 33 years later through MBC "Future Diary." Because it was currently difficult to meet 2PM as a whole, the two time traveling together became even more special. The hypothetical situation in the future gave the opportunity for the two to reveal their inner thoughts and future plans. Especially during the questions involving imagination, the two arranged a flexible response and laughter. Shall we meet the younger looking, 62 year old Taecyeon and Junho together?

Worked without rest as 2PM, we relied on each other."

In order to look back at 2PM's history, we began to discuss about their first stage after from debut. In despite 40 year went by, the two clearly remembered the day as if was yesterday.

Junho: We made our debut at Jangchong Gymnasium that is now gone That was September 4th, 2008 right? I can't remember well.
Taecyeon: I think our seniors Big Bang were there, a fella named Yoonha made her comeback stage, and made our debut.
He surprised everyone with his clear memory. Junho seemed to remember.
Junho: In order to practice our acrobatics, so we borrowed a gym nearby and warmed up for two hours. We did all sorts of things to make it big (laughs). Since I have lots of time in my hands now, all I do is recall old memories. I lay in bed, and just think about the past.

What was the most memorable memory as 2PM?

Junho: When we made our debut and when we won the grand prize. There's a lot, but the most most memorable time was my first solo concert.
Taecyeon: It was when we first received our #1 trophy.
Junho: Because I have always been a singer, I want to die on stage. I still seem fine now, so I hope to make that dream come true one day. I will have my grave on stage and it'll devote my life.
Taecyeon: Don't die~ (looks at Junho).

2PM was initially known for idol acrobatic performances. Due to this, they often suffered from injuries. Taecyeon's past involved an injured muscle that required surgery, because he arm wrestled with Junho. Junho's past involved an injured shoulder that required surgery, because he fell after poor corporation with Taecyeon during practice. Even though this such a long time ago, did you guys resent each other?

Junho: We give and take from each other. Our relationship is deep into our bones. Bones were broken and shoulders were dislocated, but we give and take like presents (laughs).
Taecyeon: You're fine these days right?
Junho: Spins well (rotates his arm).

Junho: Instead resenting each other, we resented the situation. Who knew an arm was going to brea and a shoulder was going to dislocated while practicing acrobatics? We just worked hard as always. I think we kept working without rest. There was always small and big injuries. Taecyeon always acted as the team's pillar and had a supporting role. While I'm suffering in the air, he's suffering on the ground. That's how we relied on each other. The two of us will be active till the very end.

It has already been 40 years of feeling sorry and thankful. Now it appears likely to separate.

Taecyeon: Our identity is 2PM. Even if I quit, I don't think it will ever disappear. We were together since our late teenage years, so I never that thought. If we were to disband, we would had done up to 30 years and call it quits. If we were to split, why do it for 40 years? (jokingly laughs)
Junho: Now they're my life's companion (nods).

Oh my hello, great to see see you here. so happy to have another fan of his (especially one that has been a fan of his from his early days) come and visit and share your experience/POV... :wow2:

I probably am the reverse of you and relatively rookie fan. I am mostly into kdramas so I probably became a fan of his with his acting side, then with Junho of 2pm after. I do listen to kpop, but I am K-indie is more my thing.. and Kdramas ofc.. and Jdrama, Cdramas and Tdramas....

Idol-actors, I am for idols trying different things; Idols (and people in general), can and should do whatever they can and want if opportunities are presented to them. so for idol accepting an acting gig, I say "go for it", if they want it. Though if they do try, I hope they prepared for it well and hope they start at minor roles, to test out their talent and screen presence; then build slowly from there. Nowadays most idols get lead roles, which always makes me cringe and wary and frustrated.

But with JH in Cold Eyes, I was a bit wary but I mostly thought it was good start for his acting career, since it was a minor role. Then, he was cast in Memories of the Sword, that was actually when I was so skeptical being bumped up from minor supporting role (cold eyes) to a more prominent role. And on top of that, he needed to act opposite acting giants Jeon Do Yeon and Lee Byunghun in a serious historical movie that needs so much gravitas and screen presence. I thought he was going to be an eyesore. but much like how his squirrel was such a character that blended well with Cold eyes, and his Yool actually made me look and watch him. He really was eye catching.

And then after that, project after project, he proved how much of an actor he is. Slowly and surely as he puts so much of him in each performance that most of his roles are just easy love and to remember. That is the actor Junho is for me.

And after being immersed in his acting, I slowly tipped to his music. his music from 2pm to his his solo endeavors, actually opened my eyes to just how much of a hard worker and passionate person he is. and man I am blown away by him and have become a total fan.

So ecstatic he really is getting recognition, from his acting but also for him as 2pm member.

Thus i am really glad to be a fan, and am happy to have you here sharing your thoughts.

I hope to see/read of you here more often. and I hope to get your guidance in making sure this thread is as correct and junho-fied as possible.

and please please feel free to suggest any additions, corrections of this page....

2PM’s Junho And Lee Se Young Star In Heartfelt “The Red Sleeve Cuff” Main Poster

FBk-n1yVIAEdUts?format=jpg&name=large
Oct 13, 2021 |  by L. Kim

MBC has revealed the main poster of the upcoming drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff”!

The new poster shows a tender yet forbidden moment between Yi San and Seong Deok Im. She’s helping the crown prince in his royal robe, which causes her to be so close to him that there’s barely any space between them. In addition, his large hand is covering her small one that is resting on his shoulder, making hearts flutter in both anticipation and fear.

Despite their physical closeness, there is distance in their relationship because of the obvious difference of status. Yi San’s eyes are cold and sharp, whereas Seong Deok Im’s expression is dim and sorrowful. The text between them reads, “The king loved the court lady. Did the court lady love the king?”.

"

The Red Sleeve Cuff” premieres on November 5 and will be available on Viki.

Conclusion of drama during the first half of the year] Junho, the pleasure of rediscovery

2PM ➡ Mukso (Gluttonous Sociopath) Junho’s Rediscovery

2017062501002217800158542_2017.jpg

Regardless of saying anything, the most common topic for and the topic that gains most attention is still 2PM’s Junho. Junho as a 2PM member who has the global title of “Beastly Idol”, he challenged a KBS2 Wed Thurs television drama for the first time in “Chief Kim” as Seoyul. Even though Junho has already shown a down to earth acting skills as an actor in movies “Cold Eyes” (2013), “Memory of the Swords” (2014), “Twenty” (2015) and tvN drama “Memory” (2016). However as it was his first time for a television drama “Chief Kim”, it thus gave everyone much expectations and also worries. However in this drama, Junho managed to remove the mode of a “classic villain”, not only having an opposition relationship with Kim Seong Ryong (Nam Goongmin) and also going through a cute support of a justice villain character, hence gaining a huge reaction.

Even though Seoyul is cruel and calm no matter how you see him, however his personality is someone filled with justice. A kind and beautiful personality hidden by a cold external appearance, a charm that seems to be not known of Seoyul allowed the audiences to go into it. Other than this, the most common topic will be the relationship with Nam Goongmin. Once they meet each other, they would start to bicker, which only happened at second half of the show. It started out slowly with the kissing and then the chemistry started, which also helped to increase a lot of energy in the show. From high class Japanese cuisine to food from the convenience store, it is interesting to watch Seoyul bringing in the gluttonous side of him wherever he goes. Hence the nickname “Mukso” (Gluttonous Sociopath) came about.

[Eng Trans] ‘Chief Kim’ Junho “Receiving lots of love because of Mukso, I didn’t even dream about it” (Interview)

1491435137_139562.jpg

“(After the drama ended) there are many things to do within 6 days. I went to the drama’s celebration dinner, went out with the make up and attire team etc, I drove to Wolmido Island, casually played and ate. Thinking about ‘wanting to take a break’, but did I really take a break? A week went past just like this.”

The eating show brought about a lot pleasure for the audience, but it was really exhausting for the actor himself. He said that the eating show was just to show a certain trait about the character and did not expect that it could receive so much love.

“I’ve received so much love because of the eating show and I did not expect it at all. It was only just a way to showcase a trait of the character and it managed to receive so much fame. I didn’t even dream that this could happen. Subsequently, if there isn’t any eating scenes in the script, it will be a little regretful. As the drama progressed, this is something that has to be included. Even though there were times that I want to eat, but it can only be based on how the scene is going to progress. At the same time, I also felt that if Seo Yul doesn’t eat anything, it will be a little regretful, seeing many (audience) saying ‘Seo Yul didn’t eat anything today’ or ‘he only ate one candy’.”

“In reality, before I was confirmed to be in the role, Seo Yul’s age was set to be from 36~38 years old. However I felt that I was able to do the character. Even though he is only 32 years old, but he managed to pass the judicial examinations and become a prosecutor and director. As Seo Yul managed to achieve all these at such a young age, hence I want to use this character’s personalities such as speaking impolitely, treating everyone lightly, authorizing everyone, making use of all these and portray a better character of him. To my surprise, after acting as a lawyer, and after which acting as a prosecutor, which are all characters related to laws, it was really interesting. In my next work, I hope to be able to have a more casual character to act in, however this is something that is not confirmed. Maybe if I have a chance, I may even become a doctor (laughs).”

“I did not think about the drama ratings. Everyone said that the drama was really interesting after the first broadcast, and it didn’t feel that time passed just like that. The ratings at that time was 7~8%. Then all of a sudden at the third episode, it exceeded 10% and I thought ‘eh? It can’t be at the first place now right?’ In the end the ratings really was at the first placing. Hence everyone has the condition of ‘having a big good news’. Even though the filming was very exhausting, but I enjoyed the process together with motivations.”

“Personally, I am very thankful towards Park Yeong Gyu sunbaenim. Even though he is my sunbae, but yet he did not reprimand me about my acting skills, but instead he kept giving me courage. It is not an easy thing to have the sunbaes making a phone call to their hoobaes but after the first broadcast, sunbaenim called me and said ‘I watched it really well, maintain it just like that, don’t let go of that negative image (of Seo Yul), even if this drama has an atmosphere of a comedy, you should not let go of that feeling’. He gave me a lot of advices and I am really thankful.”

Junho, who has gotten many praises through this drama, said honestly that ‘his mood was really good’, but at the same time thinking about how he can further develop his future.

“I cannot just accept all these comments, also accepting comments about breaking the biasedness about idols. Hence I want to further portray an acting skills that can leave a deep impression. In contrary, I have also thought that as someone who debuted as an idol, I have to make the difference between ‘because he is an idol hence his acting skills are better than I thought’ and receiving positive comments of being a real good actor. In conclusion, I have to really work hard (laughs).”
