It’s official: Kim Hee Sun will be starring in MBC’s upcoming drama “Tomorrow” (literal translation)!

On July 2, MBC formally announced that Kim Hee Sun had been confirmed to star in “Tomorrow,” a new fantasy drama based on the popular webtoon of the same name.

“Tomorrow” will tell the story of Choi Joon Woong, who gets into an unfortunate accident while struggling to find a job. As a result, he crosses paths with grim reapers Goo Ryun and Lim Ryoong Goo, who work together to save the lives of those who are contemplating suicide, and he winds up joining their team in the underworld as their youngest member.

Kim Hee Sun will be playing the role of Goo Ryun, the fearless and charismatic grim reaper who leads the “Danger Management Team.” Due to her ice-cold personality, she pushes people away and doesn’t form attachments to those around her.

Meanwhile, SF9’s Rowoon is currently in talks for the leading role of Choi Joon Woong.

A spokesperson for MBC remarked, “‘Tomorrow’ will be a drama that conveys warmth and comfort, instead of admonishments, to those struggling to live in this difficult reality. Our drama will have a different charm from that of the original webtoon, and we hope that it will help many people open the door to a hopeful tomorrow.”

SF9’s Rowoon will be starring in a new drama alongside Kim Hee Sun!

Previously in July, Kim Hee Sun confirmed to join the cast of MBC’s upcoming drama “Tomorrow” (literal translation). On November 4, the drama confirmed that Rowoon will take the lead role.

“Tomorrow” will tell the story of Choi Joon Woong, who gets into an unfortunate accident while struggling to find a job. Rowoon will take the role of Choi Joon Woong. His character is a long-term job seeker who has all kinds of certificates but fails to get employed. One day, he ends up in a coma due to the mistake of the “Danger Management Team” and starts to work with them.

He already showcased his solid acting skills and ability to bring a character to life through his previous dramas such as “Extraordinary You” and “She Would Never Know.”

The drama’s producers remarked, “We thought Rowoon was perfect for the role of Choi Joon Woong. Kim Ro-woon becomes a grim reaper in new fantasy drama

FDXxluBVEA8JAD7?format=jpg&name=900x900

Kim Ro-woon (The King’s Affection) has just confirmed his next project — an MBC drama called Tomorrow. It’s a webtoon-based fantasy drama where grim reapers, who are supposed to guide people to the afterlife, actually save people who want to die. Kim Ro-woon joins Kim Hee-sun (Alice), who confirmed her role in the drama back in July.

Kim Ro-woon’s character is Choi Joon-woong, a rookie employee at Hell’s only (and monopolistic) business corporation, Phantasmagoria. He starts off as a perpetual job-seeker with no upcoming career prospects, despite the fact that he has an array of skills certificates.

One day, an innocent grammatical mistake happens in the Risk Management division of Phantasmagoria, and Kim Ro-woon’s soul is suddenly transplanted into a coma patient. Under this new guise, he takes on tasks given by the Risk Management team, which allows him to become an insider to Phantasmagoria.

Co-written by Park Ran (the original webtoon creator) and rookie screenwriter Kim Yoo-jin, and co-directed by Kim Tae-yoon (Retrial) and Sung Chi-wook (Mouse), Tomorrow will begin airing in 2022.

[News] 2021.11.08 Lee Soo Hyuk Confirmed To Join Kim Hee Sun And SF9’s Rowoon In Upcoming Fantasy Drama

dummy.jpeg?s=900x600&e=t

Lee Soo Hyuk will be joining Kim Hee Sun and SF9’s Rowoon in MBC’s upcoming drama “Tomorrow” (literal title)!

“Tomorrow” will tell the story of Choi Joon Woong (Rowoon), who gets into an unfortunate accident while struggling to find a job. As a result, he crosses paths with grim reapers Goo Ryun (Kim Hee Sun) and Lim Ryoong Goo, who work together to save the lives of those who are contemplating suicide, and he winds up joining their team in the underworld as their youngest member.

Lee Soo Hyuk has been confirmed to play the role of Park Joong Gil, who is the team leader of the Guiding Management Team from the afterlife monopoly called Joomadeung (phantasmagoria) that guides the deceased. He’s a thorough and principled man who exudes charisma as he constantly clashes with Goo Ryun, the head of the Danger Management Team who saves the lives of people who want to die. With a handsome and cold face that perfectly suits that of a grim reaper, Lee Soo Hyuk will captivate viewers with his powerful and deep acting.

“Tomorrow” is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2022 via MBC.

2022.01.19 Video - Script Reading

New photos have been shared of Kim Hee Sun, SF9’s Rowoon, Lee Soo Hyuk, and more at the script reading for MBC’s upcoming drama “Tomorrow”!

“Tomorrow” is based on a webtoon of the same name and tells the story of Choi Joon Woong (Rowoon), who gets into an unfortunate accident while struggling to find a job. As a result, he crosses paths with grim reapers Goo Ryun (Kim Hee Sun) and Lim Ryoong Goo (Yoon Ji On), who work together to save the lives of those who are contemplating suicide, and he winds up joining their team in the underworld as their youngest member.

At the script reading, directors Kim Tae Yoon and Sung Chi Wook were joined by Kim Hee Sun, Rowoon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Yoon Ji On, and the rest of the main cast. Even though it was only their first reading, the cast showcased incredible synchronization with their roles, allowing the webtoon characters to truly come to life.

Kim Hee Sun will play the powerful grim reaper Goo Ryun, who is the Crisis Management Team leader at the spirit management headquarters of the afterlife monopoly called Joomadeung (phantasmagoria). Her role is to save the lives of people contemplating suicide. Rowoon accompanies her as Choi Joon Woong, a new contract employee on the Crisis Management Team. After a long job hunt, the accident-prone Choi Joon Woong finally achieves his dream of getting a job, but in the underworld.

Also on Goo Ryun’s Crisis Management team is Im Ryoong Goo, played by Yoon Ji On. The humorous and energetic Im Ryoong Goo always makes sure to clock out of work after exactly eight hours, keeping his work-life balance perfect. Lee Soo Hyuk plays Park Joong Gil, the team leader of the Guiding Management Team at Joomadeung. Park Joong Gil is cold, with a powerful dark aura, but he is the best at his job of guiding the deceased. As he believes firmly in adhering to rules, he is always clashing with Goo Ryun and the Crisis Management Team.

The “Tomorrow” producers commented, “From the first script reading, Kim Hee Sun, Rowoon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Yoon Ji On, and the remaining cast members exceeded expectations with their chemistry and immersion into their characters. More than anything, I think we’ll be able to share deep emotions and warm laughs through the grim reapers who try to save lives, as well as the journey of unpacking the stories of those who are contemplating death. Please look forward to it.”

MBC’s “Tomorrow” will air following the conclusion of “Tracer” in the first half of 2022.
