So true.. the genre is historical.. and it’s a reality for the people that time to be polygamous.. but some people get triggered and forgot that the context of this drama is two strangers find true love in an arrange marriage after getting to know each other character deeply. That bashing comment to Houye is annoying. Lmao..they didn’t even watch the drama properly and be judgemental.

Great breakdown of each event.. I agree that from this event Shiyi learn of Lingyi personality and character. I think the writer really do a good job with the story.. TSY said that Shiyi start to fall for Lingyi during the porridge event, which I agree. Her surprise looks that someone can be protect her for the first time, cared for her and she fell for his charm at that point of time. And remember that Dong Qing said that she sees her Lady gets shy for the first time when Lingyi applied the ointment to her feet. I really like the pace so their relationship progress so far, because it is quite rational, given her age is so young. And I like Lingyi didn’t force her to consummate on their first night, even though he has right. Their first kiss similar to a confession...

I guess after the first separation Shiyi started to trust Lingyi in regards to her mother death and she disclose it to Lingyi. I think Concubine Wen had a connection to the clue later on, but unsure how it will unfold. I’m sure despite the angst next week there is still sweet interaction between the couple.

the family bed scene is hilarious 😂 . Xu LingYi must have high self restraint that night. He looks frustrated at the same time that he can’t sleep well that night. Maybe he can’t believe what’s happening as well but Shiyi definitely melting slowly as she made him her arm pillow...

Who notice that our Marquis looks proud of himself after breaking his own window? I think he is self praising himself for come up such antics to get close to his wifey hahaha.. I re-watch that scene and can’t help to think the cold Marquis actually looks funny, cute and full of mischief.. I think being in love probably make his older self surface. General Fu told Shiyi that the younger LingYi is full of laughter and alive..

I know right... General Fu is so sensible.. lucky that they have a shipper on their boat.. all 4 side kick is pretty useful. But I actually pity Amber.. I hope she really doesn’t do anything that will betray Shiyi in the future.

Yes I agree.. she may not realized this because she’s been focusing on other issues like QLF and her antics, the household issues and also finding her mother killer. But she is slowly falling for him. The almost divorce situation must be crucial in helping her realized what’s important things she’s been missing *ehem* I don’t think they will get divorce because from the trailer of the red thread symbolises they will go through the storm together.

Do you guys know anything about Concubine Tong? In the story the women is actually Yuanniang maid that seduced LingYi when he was heavily drunk. And was she was made concubine to avoid scandal. I wonder in the novel if Ou family had a hand on it or Madame Lou/Yuanniang? Because I think at some point Yuanniang and LingYi goes distant due to the trust between them broken, and towards end of her life she’s regretful towards Xu LingYi. Our Marquis is somewhat pitiful because all other women was forced to him and eyeing his status only with no real feelings. Only Shiyi sees him and his burden. As Shiyi is his first love, so understandable that he is scared because he’s getting out of control when he supposed to be fair&just but couldn’t help but favours Shiyi too much. What I like in episode 20 is LingYi adoration & respect towards Shiyi increasing because she is really capable and it shows when she become embroidery teacher to the refugees. Instead of getting angry he looks proud when the one of her student explained that Shiyi has been a big help with the refugees issues.

I love Zhun ge running his little mouth to in front of the family telling his parents tid bit.. lol. He’s basically telling everyone that his father favours Shiyi too much until he listens to everything Shiyi is telling him😆😆😆. So satisfying that QLF is there.. lol
