Why did I keep coming to this thread and read over and over everyone pov. Good input/idea/point of view hardly to let it go.Seem like no other drama is able to get my attention as sword and brocade.Did tried others but still umphhh

So on point. like it so much --> How can someone who is lonely, lack of love to know how to love back... he even used to said, how can he married (take more concubine) someone he was not in love with. even on that generation(old days) where marriege were arrange marriege by family. I am glad he managed to found his last puzzle to complete himself at the end. i keep repeat episode 44 where houye and shiniamg meet up in prison. seem like i can feel how they feel.hahaha. and now, no more adrenaline rush need to wait for upcoming episode since it has finish.

houye did what he did (concubine, child) out of his will and heart because of his responsibility beside he is the pillar of the family and must hv a heir.he force himself and tried be a good husband for years (he slept with them mainly for heirs) and give protection(as part of xu family) then at one point he maybe had enough. then when shiniang came to his life, houye has a feeling that he able to be a man also a husband again or the very first time. The way houye behave seem like he falling in love for the very first time.he even has no idea he was changed and unconsciously his best character which long gone by the time he be head of family. i feel pity to all the concubine but i think i can feel houye too.opss

me too. i just watch the short clip from ytube.Seem too rush and they compress everyhing in last a few episode so will wait when all subs then only watch it. i saw a clip she fainted and afterward in their room and declare due to pregnancy(at least need more happy scene about this pregnancy journey). but i like a clip take place in prison between houye and shiniang(their emotions was superb and can see their feeling toward each other as tight as rock). i read somewhere some chinese production tend to do 2nd series for popular drama.umphh i saw a clip both houye and his little brother with mustache on the round table with whole family maybe both hv it during that time since houye daughter also grew up and to shows they are getting older.hahaha. @Olivia Kate i watched at dramacool.vc. it has all till ep 45 but eng sub only till 42. i am only watch till 42 since i could not understand without sub

@NiteWalker i hv no specific type of genre but only certain storyline will catch my interest like this drama or under the power(ops am i hard to please). not so heavy on melodrama, politic,conflicts (balance, the pace).some drama will take many episode just for close 1 conflict. i dont like those drag for too long. tq for your recommended, ill watch Youre my hero.

@NiteWalker hopefully i can get other drama that having plot and storyline that will capture my interest after this drama ended. before this drama, i hv marathon back to back under the power and go ahead(countless times). now will need find other drama that suit me (old style kind of person)

Its kind of sad when i saw in the trailer when he said to shiniang about the faith that intertwind in their destiny that maybe he was the one will be her husband.... but for me only houye character and wisdom able to be the last puzzle that will fit shiniang perfectly. like @JennyKimWOP said,shiniang seem was seeking safety rather that trust, to find an umbrella instead off shield because she has strong will.only experience or mature sort of husband can withstand and having back and forth discussion rather than yes lady.

Umph.Houye has a reason/concern on why he wanted to send his son away(afraid his son would be intertwind with wenniang scheme and also education purposes).that era put an education as one of highest achievement and that why he reluctant to let fengching in non education concubine shiliu care.but his charater shows that he is very good in reading people and a smart guy(General with experience and tactical indeed) so as head of family he need to look on bigger picture of future xu family.my thought only.hahaha

I might be wrong but i think whenever Lingyi said "because u are my wife" where it hit the right button like ur view (i am not good with verbal so i just keep it to myself and seem like others or this case you voice it out). i read and like it so much of everyone pov (i am not a stalker haha).maybe because for me, most of the things in life are not only down to simple term whether right or wrong,can or cannot etc.i love that i can understand more thru everyone input or an idea merely not because of this drama.everyone thought are reshape me in a way on how to see my surrounding (people/situation etc) differently and be a better person to others. p/s-everyone post gave me deep warm vibes (sorry as i am an introvert so i am comfy with those i can click with only). i think maybe this is one of the reason i created an acccount instead of be a silent reader of this specific thread(first time ever).hohoho. i read somewhere that 'words are like keys,if u choose them right they can open any heart and shut any mouth' lol. i thought he was fall of the chair because of him trying not to be so close to his Furem(madam?) since he still in mad mood.maybe he afraid he will mood swing back to his chasing behaviour for her instead.hahaha

And when he didn't let her adopt the thrid child, because of her lack of education, he really pushed her over the edge.-->Yap,that totally stunned me out when Houye said that,i was surprised by that too.at 1 point i try to understand that Houye married concubines and wife for duty as head of family but his neglect to the rest of them kind of sad. maybe because of I am a woman so I am bias a bit.But i think shinyi the only person that give butterfly in the stomach kind of feeling to him which i think the very first time he was having that feel.

I think he is just sort of character.He never shame her in public but appear respectful in front of others. Like how he told off qiao for grabbing those brocade allocated for shiyi with the 5 poison heart analogy. --> Totally agree with you.There is a wisdom in Houye character.For me wisdom is only when a person able to combine her/his experience,knowledge etc with manners.I am EQ type of person so my first impression come from manners.
