  1. Yeah I feel like nothing much happened this episode, this whole him being sick was somehow so unnecessarily drawn out. Him getting included in the inheritance was a given and something everyone should've seen coming. I want to know why Yoonhee is hiding her background.

And there's Kwon Sang Woo's character. Why in every episode do they need to make him push the marriage agenda?

Srsly his only lines are like "We're going to marry" why is he like that, grandma telling him that Seyeon didn't want him tho, I'm wondering why she was with him then?

Kang Haneuls character is actually way funnier when he is himself and not acting and again that's why I still prefer his interactions with the sfl.

Yoonhee and Segyu are still my favorites, I don't even care about the discourse between the other two siblings so another point to Segyu who just doesn't want anything to do with it lol.

But I guess I am open to all possibilities. I just don't want a love triangle to be the focus of the show.

    Same.

I don't think the writer has not set her heart on the love line yet as per this article in the press-con:

So I guess this means no clear romance in season 1, idk if it's a good thing if she really hasn't decided yet because I want it to make it sense and there should be some clear hints early on. I feel like so far the show has been leaning more towards Seol and Hogae, I mean there was that not so subtle talk about dating, while giving us hints that Dojin likes her but hey it's only been 3 episodes lol.

I've read a comment somewhere that Hogae and Dojin might catch feelings while Seol remains oblivious lol.

But kudos to this drama writer, I think they do quite well with variation of cases that gory, twisted, but still interesting and easy to follow.

Yeah I thought the same thing while watching, I also like that it's just one case per episode while there is a bigger plot point throughout the show with Hogae's backstory.

This is my favorite airing k-drama right now, the chemistry between the cast is so good and all the dynamics are fun, the show has it's flaws but I'm just really enjoying it. It kinda reminds me of Taxi Driver in a way, both are from SBS lol.

Ngl I'm already lowkey shipping Seol and Hogae :idk: though I can totally see her with Dojin, who I think definitely likes her, too they are giving me love triangle vibes which idk how to feel about yet.

  4. Yeah the focus should be on the relationship between the grandma and (fake)grandson I mean that's the whole reason he is here, that's why the "cousins" spending so much time together is even more annoying also the total disdain from Seyeon towards the wife who was visibly annoyed and almost zero effort to include her. FL feels like a robot at times with no social etiquette.

And yes the hand holding is just weird af.

I really hope the real grandson comes into the picture soon.

Mostly not feeling comfortable watching the noona paying so much attention and care for a long-lost brother with a wife. At least she should include the wife too. It’s like she has eyes only for the brother.

    Yup it's really bothering me.

Caught up with the last episodes and I'm really not feeling the main leads relationship at all, I'm having a hard time to see why there would be romantic feelings developing between them. ML shouldn't be as careless as he is and get carried away so much, she is nice to him but what more is there to it, for the FL she believes he is married, is her cousin and treats him like her little brother while male lead does act a bit like a child when he is in disguise, not to forget that's basically not his real personality. I don't see the appeal for neither of them nor for me as a viewer to root for this relationship.

His interactions with the SFL feel more natural and exciting tbh and in general I find every relationship in the show more endearing than the one between the leads.

  6. I'm only at ep 3 but I have to agree that I'm liking the second leads chemistry with the leads better so far lol, right now it's also kinda impossible to root for anything to happen between the main leads given their situation.

  7. Episode 14 was so much better, it was pretty good actually, after a long time I felt excited again.

Eultae not having actually lied? Did he not want to give up on immortality and made Sangun be the one to turn Hwal into bulgasal to keep his promise? Were they actually friends? And Hwal being the one that "cursed" himself wow did not see that coming.

And they didn't force so many moments between Hwal und Sangun down my throat which is always a bonus. :idk:

The stalking behind the painting and Eul Tae begging for Hwal to believe him make no sense to me. Eul Tae had 600 years to earn Hwal's trust but he did absolutely nothing and just "spy" on him. Why? He has 600 years to brainwash Hwal against Sang Woon + her reincarnate

Honestly what even was the point of that spy board, I thought it was going to give us some major clue I feel like it added nothing but maybe I was just zoning out because I'm starting to get real tired of this show lol.

    6 hours ago, mademoiselle said:

Does Sang Woon (or The Soul) has power of her own? It seems so since whenever she's in danger she loses her conscious and was able to protect herself.

Yeah she gets some kind of power boost (and conveniently always when Hwal isn't there to save her), there was this flash back in ep 3 before we saw the monster all beat up, I was hoping they were going to get more to it but like everything else they drag out that part too.

Hwal and Sangun are the original Bulgasal, looks like Hwal went on a murder rampage and a fight between him and Sangun broke out cue the part where we see bulgalady stab Hwal in the hand which is later the scar he is reborn with, his curse, Hwal badly wounded sitting at a tree "k-i-l-l-i-n-g" Eultae and taking his soul, Eultae gets his dark hole and turns to bulgasal, Hwal turns human, does he die at the spot? Unclear but what I'm curious about are the 400 years between the 1000 and 600 years ago, what happened during those times? Was Hwal reborn as always cursed? And why does he not remember his past lifes like Sangun did, maybe he was born as twins too at some point where one had the memories and the other didn't and that's how his reincarnation cycle continued, without memories.

and what's going on with Eul Tae's hair

They said oh no we made the villain too hot and compelling that people seem to care more about him than the leads, let's tone it down a bit.

Seriously tho why is Lee Joon getting so little screen time as the second lead, it's a tragedy because he is the only one who gets to act his ass off with the stuff he is given.

  10. @TofuI was like yes finally some good Barbie Girling food when they had Siho finally look into her past and then once again we only got the bare minimum of information lol, why did Sangun only want to know about Hwayeon why not go back all the way? She makes no sense. She is just fine with knowing "let both bulgasal kill each other"? Yeah sure great that makes you so much wiser...not.

I'm still waiting for it too, I was happy when Hoyoel almost revealed it lol. But seriously is no one questioning Hwal's behaviour? Especially towards Siho? And why is Siho the one being most uncomfortable with him when he literally treates her the best compared to everyone else lol it also makes no sense what they made her say when she said in a previous episode that she doesn't think he is a monster. Aghh so much I have to complain about regarding the writing...

That trip was so cute lol and the way he played it off.

Hahaha, I know! Can people just stop cutting off Eul Tae and have him tell us what happened 1000 years ago?! :GengarPout:

Exactly, idc if it's going to be half truths just give me something , lwhy wouldn't you let him tell you why he killed your family, like jesus Hwal really annoyed me in that scene.

Eultae and Siho being the only ones that give us some plot exposition and yet have so little screen time.

What kind of twist will we find in episode 11?! I remember the cast talked about there being "surprises after surprises" in the drama. Are they going to tell us that Hwal and Eul Tae were brothers 1000 years ago? :lmao2:

Idk but hopefully one that's actually shocking lol, still waiting for at least one twist that will majorly surprise me. I just want them to reveal the damn backstory already, I'll take anything

  13. Agreed, like you said he is probably trying to stay away but idk like we already have the situation where he is kind of forced to be around them so it's weird that they don't have them interact much. It could've been cool if he started to like being around them while he still forced himself to stay away, they could've evoked so many more emotions and inner turmoil but chose not to.

Well I really hope it's not love or at least a platonic one and I'm wrong because I really can't get behind the romance. He does treat her a lot better now but she seemed to have grown fond of him when he still kept constantly shutting her down not to forget the grief and pain he caused her by claiming she is evil, like the guy dug out her corpse from a previous life lol. Their dynamic would've been a lot more intersting if they kept the "I know you want to kill me but I need you to kill the other Bulgasal, I don't trust you but I have no choice" aspect a little longer and didn't have her go soft for him so quick.

The whole someone doesn't deserve to be judged for their past lifes actions is actually why I would've really liked if Sangun actually turned out to be evil, it would've added to Hwal's struggle and conflict of if he should kill her or not and like you mentioned @mademoiselle make him realize how he himself was cursed for something he did in his past life that he doesn't remember. That would've been a really interesting way for the show to go but then idk how Eultae would've fit into the story but that's also because we still don't know the backstory.

I usually love characters that remain kind and optimistic despite their hardships so Sangun should be right up my alley but something just doesn't click with me, her actions and reactions seem too unbelieveable, agreed she is too nice and too selfless and she misses that certain charm that could've made it still work.

    3 hours ago, mademoiselle said:

The other issue is the deal they had is for her to find out how Hwal can kill Eul Tae but we don't see her or Hwal making any effort researching on this.

This is so true, right now it feels like they only react to whatever Eultae is doing, he is the one driving the plot forward because he actually keeps going after what he wants. I'm still wondering how Hwal in his 600 years didn't find out there was another bulgasal.

Idk about the Siho and Achan being Eultae's/his brothers family cause aren't Siho and Eultae like kind of but not really siblings having had the same father lol. Interesting that he pulled a red thread out of her hair tho.

The backstory from 1000 years ago, how Eultae turned to a Bulgasal, why Hwal was cursed, why Siho has her powers and if it's indeed a curse, what Bulgalady meant with having created even more karma and "him" having planned all of this are things that I'm dying to know.

So far the soul originally being Eultae's seems very likely, if we can take the people in the painting as the two original Bulgasal then I'm still inclined to Hwal being the other one.

Didn't Bulgalady look surprised when the soul went into her? So I'm guessing if Hwal indeed was Bulgasal then he was the one to take over the soul, I've seen people theorize that Bulgasal Hwal and human Eultae might have made a deal where one wanted to become human and the other one immortal, which would make sense considering Eultae was rather sickly.

Whenever I try to think of theories there seem to be so many endless possibilities because the have reveald so little .

  14. Thank's for the welcome! Glad to make this place feel less lonely  I was actually looking through other forums but people were too crazy about the romance between the leads where I felt out of place, so I decided to join here instead lol.

@Tofu @mademoiselle Yep, I blame the writing and directing. They just have nothing to work with, Gong Seungyeon gets way too little screen time, which is annoying in terms of her character and waste of an actress, Kwon Nara can only show so much given the character she plays has like no personality and her lines are just 90% asking questions, she is more interesting as the Bulgalady who literally has no lines at all, as for Lee Jinwook idk his character isn't very giving either given the fact he is stuck with Sangun for the majority of time. The only time Hwal seems to show a different expression and attitude is when he interacts with Siho which happens too rarely.

I don't know why it took Lee Joon so long to return from dramaland after being discharged, but I'm so glad he's back.

I actually read an interview where he adressed this lol, it said he was already filming for silent sea in 2019 but since it's a show that requires a lot of post production work due to cgi it only came out now.

Even emotionally I'm not seeing him connect and rather we get this weird, random scene of him with Sang Woon in that little space — doesn't even flutter my heart at all 😅 or thought it was necessary (to be this long anyway). Plus I don't think this show needs romance. It just needs to tell a good story and potentially Hwal gets a closure with his family through the reincarnated souls of theirs...

This!! I'm sorry but to me the leads just have absolutely no chemistry which is weird because there was at least some in the first episode where we got Bulgalady stabbing him lol. I think their relationship is so poorly developed, they better explain it by them being drawn to each other because of some ties of a past life cause else it would make absolutely no sense for them to expect me to beleive miss girl would develop feelings for the same guy that over and over again told her he hates and wants to kill her. The romance is so unnecessary, imo they should've left it out completely or just keep it between him and his previous wife.

So far the aspect of his family from the past and their tragedy is what emotionally drives the story for me and more than anything I just want them to be happy and break free from their bad karma while Hwal either gets his closure or his second chance to make up for his regrets.

Her actions are just annoying. The fact she doesn’t hate DH but already likes him is proof that she is a different soul

Her selflessness and trust in others and whole attitude in general is too over the top that I can't take her serious and it makes her look really stupid and naive for most of the time. Idk how they managed to make their female lead the least appealing character in the show.  Especially her relationship with Hwal is so unbelieveable unless it was their intention to portray stockholm syndrome lol.

I didn't realized they would stop to talk that much with each other. What about saving Do Yoon?

Me neither, that actually bugged me so much, like I thought he was going to go absolutely feral, this is the son he wanted to avenge for 600 years and instead I'm watching him sit in a car and talk.

    6 hours ago, mademoiselle said:

I can't hate him and neither can I hate him as a villain. LOL.

It's hard to hate him when they make him the most interesting character and Lee Joon delivering the best performance out of everyone  (not saying the other actors are bad, I haven't seen their previous stuff and Gong Seungyeon's performance from ep 1 is still one of my favorites in the show but Joon gets the best material to work with that allows him to show off his acting chops, while the others...not so much.)
