Am simply adoring this show.  What a treat with actors from two of my favorite shows starrng in it and being super cute with each other.

I went to Netflix web-site and asked for Bossam to be added - fingers crossed.  Il-Woo's Cinderella and the Four Knights is also on on there,

I got to rewatch Eps 16 again.  I waited and stayed up way too late watching it and now can't recall it enough to comment. I did love the reunion scene.  And I remember thinking - how can this ex-wife be gotten rid of....and then the brilliant writer came up with a great way :)  I hope we don't see her again.  She deserves what comes to her.  I'm started to rewatch show from beginning.  There are so many great scenes and I get to notice how often / frequent BW mentions the beauty of SK.  And now I sit and hope for 10 rating next week.

Episode 14   - how oh how did I survive their good bye scene with no kiss - it was completely touching and I loved it and will rewatch it but I still can't believe no kiss.  I'm beginning to think we will never get one - just real tight hugs.  Anyone else think if creators teased a kiss in a preview the rating with for sure hit double digits?

Best scene!

Anyone else curious how Cha Dol came to be?  Like is the story about his mother running away true?  Is he really BW's son?  And I want full explanation of Princess marriage to second son and his sudden death - give me flashbacks please.  I sometimes feel like dramas drag at this point, as if they are just chugging along to get to 16 (in this instance 20) but Bossam has so much story left to tell us, I haven't even mentioned the the brother in law and his secret.  And can't end this post without stating the obvious - more passion please.  If we don't get an actual kiss soon.....

I'm torn between two very different dramas - Flower of Evil and Unfamiliar Family.

Enjoying how this drama plays with the audiences expectations.  For example, who the real villain is and the suit buying scene is episode 7.  And then for episode 8 - after watching the previews, I assumed we'd get more love connection scenes from leads and instead.....we got something else 

For the ending I would love to see all historical characters in modern day incarnations.

I also keep wondering when is Fu Rong going to remember that her dead master warned her against keeping company with Duke An. I didn’t like the guy from the first time I saw him but is Fu Rong really going to be deceived by him to the end? I hope not. 

 

Duke Ahn is childhood friend, which is why I think Fu Ring trust him so much, while us viewers know he's no good and just want her to stay away. 

Just noticed Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion is now available on Viki.  I prefer that streaming service so may use this opportunity as an excuse for a rewatch.

I’ve been saying all year - I didn’t want to live in a world where BinJin wasn’t real, and I guess I don’t have to anymore. Best news!

1. Who was an actor/actress you discovered this year that blew you away?

I didn't discover him this year, but I think Park Seo Joon and his chestnut hair cut in Itaewon Class and how he actually made it work, blew me away.

2. Who was the most memorable character you watched this year? 

Han Ji-pyeong - or what we call him in my family - Good Boy from Start Up.

3. What drama did not meet your expectations?

Itaewon Class - I like a lot about this drama especially Ahn Bo-Hyun's acting. I kept thinking is this guy really making me feel sorry for this character?  I think the last minute (IMO) addition of romance between the leads really left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

4. Was there a drama that did not have a big following but you thoroughly enjoyed it? 

Into The Ring / Memorials.  I just completed a re-watch. The chemistry between the leads is fantastic and loved the story of characters trying to do the right thing, when maybe the right thing isn't so black and white and at times failing.  

5. Was 2020 a good year in drama land?

It was a good year in drama land, and I'm thankful for everyone who worked on productions this year given the pandemic - it could not have been easy, but I'm so appreciative of their efforts.

Next up for me is 18 Again - it's been mentioned so many times I feel like a fool if I don't watch it.  Also - need to watch Go Ahead.  I see a post in my future where I'm saying "why oh why did I not watch this earlier?"

Feeling the same way - truly enjoyed Flower of Evil and had no idea there was a ship. I feel so out of it 😊

Twisted fate leads chemistry no way near zzh n jjy. Or zyc n hyx in sleepless princess so i m not getting the kick for it. Maybe it will get better.

A friend of mine and I called him Mr. Smolder while watching Princess Agents, we just love him and his new show is on our radar. 

I'm about to watch my 4th KSH show this weekend.  Working my way through 2 Days and 1 Night, binged Strongest Deliveryman, caught up on Start Up and am starting You Drive Me Crazy.  I'm laughing at myself at this obsession, this shrine makes me feel less alone in it.

After watching Ep 14, I realizes JP lack of confidence in Dal Mi's affection for him, seals the deal for me - they are not meant to be.  I like JP character so much I want him to be with someone who 100% wants him back and does not waver.   Also realize - probably too late in the series, it will never devout enough time to the family relationships.  Like a lot of others, I question, why the first episode gave us all the background on the sisters, Dad, Mom, Grandma and then those threads were never fully developed.

3. Weight Lifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo- (Korean drama, 2016) This is a rom-com sports drama. I don't normally love sports dramas, but this one was fun. I think it was light-hearted and had great humour, but also looked at issues like depression, feeling lost with your life choices, family issues. The pacing was so point with this series - issues arose but were resolved relatively quickly and logically. The romance was also pretty damn cute (haha, might have been because the leads were actually in love at the time though!)...But also the side characters were all super likeable! 

 

 

Thank you for mentioning this drama.  Mad at myself for not including it on my list.  It is SOOOO good.  

Super hard to pick just 5.  

Enjoying everyone's responses, they are all so varied.  And find myself reminiscing about what I was doing when I was watching the drama listed below, who recommended them to me...

1 - Story of Yanxi Palace - after a friend telling me about the show for months, an English subbed version became available and watched most of it while recovering from illness.

2 - Ashes of Love - give me a demon realm, mortal realm, heaven realm story any day of the week please.  This one's got some serious filler problems, but the chemistry of OTP and Deng Lun in particular keep me coming back for rewatches.  

3 - Fight My Way - Love the humor and story and Taekwondo ready Park So Joon ain't bad either, a t-shirt and track pants never looked so good on anyone.

4 - Crash Landing On You - Wasn't going to watch this one, it just didn't appeal to me.  But EVERYONE seemed to be recommending it, so set some time aside on a plane trip (my last trip before quarantine) and after second episode, I was watching every BinJin video on Youtube.  And it was something family members used as a distraction during the early days of quarantine, so it will always mean a lot to me for helping out in a difficult time.

5 - Qing Qing Zi Jin - I watch a lot of silly shows.  Sweet and fluffy has been important to me during COVID or maybe Royal Nirvana really wrecked me and I'm not ready to go back to serious stuff yet. This is a favorite and don't think enough people know about it, so mention it whenever possible.  Main OTP is super cute with great chemistry and any show that has an execution platform marriage proposal and wedding is a 10 out of 10 in my book.  

Congratulations on 100 days.  I’m very new to this forum. I came for Ruyi but am looking forward to joining more discussions. I’m typically only a reader - I like to research spoilers etc, but my enthusiasm for Ruyi and the general kindness here has me posting  - I shock myself sometimes.  I struggle trying to figure out navigation, like I press a bottom and it takes me out of the thread I was on. It’s operator error for sure. Thank you for creating this space. You’ve made this difficult time a little easier to handle.

I believe China passed a rule in February that all shows can only be 40 episodes, which Is why I think this one was reduced from 48 to 40.
