  1. @JenL @Just_Me @eNDe you should def join us for uncanny counters! It’s really helped me move on. Lol. I literally started it on a whim because I was so bored and ddsslls left a void. Completely different genres, but I like it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but so far I’m really liking it! also I didn’t make the connection! Juns dad is the mayor?! 😱 haha I don’t know why I always never recognize other “non” main actors in other dramas! Maybe because I feel like they still belong in the other world???
  2. I also wonder what makes SM so special. The fact that wigen was able to enter his body seemed like a special occurrence as well. I don’t think it’s ever been done before? Ack, I can’t wait for episode 5! I’ve recommended this drama to all my friends, hope the writing continues to be good , the acting is already phenomenal amongst all the cast members. I’m usually ok with gore, but that last scene I couldn’t watch.
  3. I found the webtoon, it’s in korean though. Not sure if there’s a translated version. http://webtoon.daum.net/webtoon/view/AmazingRumor
  4. HHa I don’t know if any drama can top the ending of ddsslls! :p I was watching their episode on knowing brothers and he has two sons and the oldest is 18! He looks so good for his age!
  5. That was exactly what I thought when I watched the scene between wigen and sooho. I thought he was healer counter Ahjummas son when he said he did the same to his mom. I love how this drama is written. It’s got me laughing and crying in a span of minutes and love all that societal topics this drama addresses all throughout. I picked this drama up on a whim when I saw it on Netflix to help with the ddsslls void and am so glad I did!! I’ll be looking forward to it every week! also! Can you believe the actor that plays motak is 51?! His body was unreal. I can’t imagine the strength and discipline he must have to have made his body like that! I’m so impressed. I have no excuses!
  6. hmmmmm.... I’m korean American and I’ve never heard of this being a common cultural thing in korea? Faking a death?! Haha. Death by fan? Yes. But fake deaths? No.
  7. @Unnie0110 thank you! Do writers ever explain themselves after dramas are done? I’m genuinely curious why the writer went this route and would love an explanation. Haha
  8. Do you have a link to the article with netizen reaction? I’m curious to see what korean netizens thought about that ending. ah! I wish they would do a season 2 or even a 1 hour to extension to tie up/explain everything, but Sadly I think that’s super rare. @CINNABOM welcome to the thread! Yes despite the ending, I did love the rest of the drama so I’m thankful for this gem. I’ve been a korean drama watcher for a long long time now, and I only rarely become active on threads for a very rare few of them. So there was something about this drama that captured my heart. @JenL totally understand Wanting to stay away from the other dramas this writer has written!!! I’m watching start up too! Just looked up someday or one day and i don’t think it’s available on Netflix in America??? Not popping up for me. I’ll look up both recommendations though, thank you! @Unnie0110 after your post on watching the call, I went and watched it lol. Man, freaked me out so much. Did you end up finishing it? I need someone to discuss that ending with. Haha
  9. @JenL you’re so sweet to respond to every single post!!! I know this writer left a bad taste but I promise shopping king louis doesn’t crash and burn like this one did at the end! Maybe it can help soothe your heart. :p any dramas you loved? I need something to watch now.
  10. @Just_Me yes, Juns mom never says he died. She just said he can never come back, but Lala makes the assumption that he died and the mom never corrects her. Which I found so bizarre. How can she not correct her? “No he’s hasn’t died, but he’s really really sick and we don’t think he has much time” or something like that? Also why wouldn’t she go to the funeral? Or ever visit his grave?? Just like her dad she never visited him? Unless they show that off camera.
  11. Thank you for sharing your story about your mom. I also completely agree with you saying that jun never thought that Lala would be able to weather the storm with him. It was incredibly selfish of him to make decisions for her. At least tell the girl the truth and allow her agency to decide what she wants to do. Knowing Lala, I totally see her rising to the occasion and becoming a great source of comfort and strength to jun in his time of need. I rewatched the latter half of the episode and I tried putting myself in her shoes. If I were her, even if it didn’t make sense that Jun was back, I would let logic fall to the wayside and would be overjoyed that my love has come back. So I guess in that snapshot moment, she doesn’t question him further. But what about after the fact? I feel like the entire basis and foundation of their relationship is shattered because essentially he’s just been lying to her the entire time. So now afterwards, after all the good feelings of my love returning has subsided. I feel like there would be a lot of trust issues going forward with the relationship. Maybe Lala can look past that and be able to move on and live happily with Jun, but me? I don’t know. sigh. I still feel so salty about this ending.
  12. Yup. I think it officially ended at episode 12. Lol. After stealing the bride away they eloped and lived happily ever after.
  13. I wrote my own ending. if they wanted to stick to the storyline that jun was sick, they should have had his mom come and say that Jun was really sick. In fact, he’s in a coma now. (Since we throwing all sorts of tropes out there) Lala then decides she wants to stick by Juns side and takes care of him in those 5 years. He miraculously wakes up and they get married and have their happily ever after. or, jun fesses up to Lala that he’s sick. She’s shocked but decides to be by his side and care for him. He doesn’t have a coma, but treatment takes a while. It’s touch and go for awhile. But he ends up pulling through. They get married and have their happily ever after. They have a kid and their kid is best friends with hayoung and seung gi kid. Or, jun never had cancer. He bought lalaland in exchange for him going abroad to medical school. He’s honest to Lala about the exchange and promises that he’ll come back for her after he’s done with school. They maintain a long distance relationship and he’s finally done with medical school and he’s able to stand on his own two feet now. They reunite, and finally get married and have their happily ever after.
  14. I don’t think I’ll be able to go back and appreciate the ending/drama later on. Honestly it just felt like they were toying with the viewers emotions. But the one bright spot that comes out from this is Lee Jae wook, even though his character was done dirty in the last 3 episodes, I thought the actor was great and can’t wait to see him in another drama! Off note: happy thanksgiving to any of my fellow Americans here! Stay safe and healthy.
  15. @stroppyse I think I’m able to forgive Jun for the heartache he caused Lala. If you think about it, although he’s very mature for his age, he’s still 19/20ish years old. I’m sure he’s really scared and terrified, not only about his illness, but that he may put Lala through even more pain through his death. Obviously, I don’t agree with him hiding his illness from her, but I can understand where he was coming from with his ridiculous charade. he quickly changed his mind after realizing that Lala still misses and loves him and he probably realized he doesn’t have the mental resolve to just leave her like that. Part of me wonders what the point was with all the shenanigans, but I guess that’s kdrama for you. I had said before the one reason why I would understand/forgive Jun was if he was really sick. I didn’t think show was actually going to go that route because I thought this drama was supposed to a light hearted romcom. I’m also pretty sure he’s gonna be healed from his cancer and they’ll have their happy ever after.
  16. @stroppyse I’ve been seeing some comments of people being ardent Jun supporters. They’re saying we should trust Jun and that he always has been working for the good of Lala and that he’s so heartbroken and down this episode etcetc...And Yes, I totally 100% get that he’s doing all this to benefit Lala and eunpo folks, maybe he’s being watched so he’s acting etcetc...I just don’t agree with the way he’s doing things. Don’t get me wrong, I still like Jun. I just think he’s being a huge noble idiot.
  17. @JenL there was some angst in shopping king Louis, but it didn’t delve into something like ddsslls. It gets resolved fairly quickly and the ending is good! I think my issue with ddsslls is that the hurt Jun is inflicting is pretty high. I still can’t get over the picture of him holding hands with her, he could have just broken up with her, why go so far to stage that hand holding scene? I don’t know how the writers are going to address all this commotion Jun has created, where we as viewers will say “ oh that totally makes sense, jun! What you did was the right thing”
  18. I rewatched it just now too because when I first watched it raw I forwarded through a lot to see if the preview was punking us. Second time fully watching it, my heart feels all twisted. Poor Lala, no matter what excuses/reasons Jun has, he did her dirty. He could have just been upfront about his reasons for breaking up, instead of doing this. I don’t know how the show will be able to redeem this and turn the ship around. It’ll have to be DANG good for them to fix this mess. I’m like Lala though, still have a sweet spot for Jun and desperately want a happy ending for them. I know they will end up together, but again, they really need a dang good reason to clear up this past episode. There’s so much crap in 2020! This show was supposed to be our escape!!!
  19. @Unnie0110 you have a lot of faith in this drama and writer!!! I’ve been burned by too many dramas that have crashed and burned at the end, so I will cautiously be watching and really hoping what you say may be true, will be true.
  20. I don’t mind separation if there is a clear reason and it makes sense to the character and storyline. When Jun and Lala first separated due to him being a runaway, that completely made sense to me and I felt was the right course of action. If they had to do yet ANOTHER separation, why go about it like this? Him holding the other girls hand?! Like what?! What was the purpose of that? Kind of cheapens Juns love for LL. Again, I hope the show will show us that the picture is not all that is depicted. I just feel like the Jun being shown to us in ep 14 is not the Jun we’ve come to know and love from episode 1-13. I’m really hoping this gets solved in the next episode because i don’t need 10 minutes of happiness tacked on to the end like @JenL said. I feel like so many dramas start out really great and then lose their steam or throws all these random scenarios at the end. It does such a disservice to the great writing it’s shown thus far.
