  1. Quick question - how do you post pictures here? You have to upload it to another site first and then use URL?
  2. Yes! This is the one. I really like the first actor listed - Zhu Yawen, very solid actor with the most charming voice. It is based on a real story and the director seems to be solid too. The rumor is that they will start shooting in May. But let's see if it is true... If it is, I will be sooooo happy, simply because Bai Jingting needs to play police again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @NiteWalker Thank you for @ me in this thread. Now I can post more BJT stuff here. haha
  3. Just finished the two episodes. It is mostly introducing the characters and setting up the scene. I think the real story will start tomorrow. The tempo is ok, and the older characters are cute. I am not too sure about the female lead... but let's see. Guo Sanshuang is the opposite of Xing Kelei... he is your typical sales person who can talk you into buying anything. The limited scenes he has these two episodes are hilarious, and I like the dynamic between him and his grandpa (or all the older characters for that matter). The preview of the next episode shows that we get to see how built-up BJT's body is... though in a funny way (I will take it still) I hope they do a good job with the English subs, because those bantering is very hard to translate to make them funny. The drama with Songyun will air later this year I think. It is eight episodes and is part of a bigger series. I saw some rumours that his next project is a movie.... but it is pure rumour now. Let's see... but yes, no Xiao Bai drama for a while. I really hope that his next drama is wuxia or something similar.
  4. Here is the air calendar. It seems like we will have at least one episode per day for less than a month. Here is the air calendar. It seems like we will have at least one episode per day for less than a month. And behind-the-scene picture of BJT participating in Happy Camp: Hard to believe that this young boy is the same guy who gave us Xing Kelei. But I really like this hair style!!!
  5. They did a live streaming today - maybe someone will sub this soon.
  6. This one is too funny - hahahahaha When I first saw it on Weibo, I thought it was made by some fans... didn't realize that it is from the official account. @NiteWalker Thanks for @ me!!!! Let us hope this will be a good one. Many of the actors playing the older generation are respected veterans in the field, so hopefully that ensures the quality of the show. Also, airing on Mango TV also means that there will be lots of marketing activities as Mango TV is good at such things. For instance, BJT will appear in Happy Camp soon.
  7. Just want to come here to shout that BJT's new drama "Octogenarian and The 90s" will be airing from April 21st on Mango TV. I guess that is what I will be watching, since I am already in the rabbit hole. His character seems to be a total goofball and it should be a comedy and a fun watch. The theme is on elderly care - so no much romance I suppose.
  8. I miss Mika and Xing Kelei, and miss the days when we were talking non-stop about the drama. Hope to see you guys soon in another drama thread (probably will take a while considering how hard it is for me a start anything...)
  9. I watched the whole recording and the crew is so funny... most of the time they didn't know what they are doing, and are just chatting non-sense. But they did talk about their favorite scenes: - XKL's favorite: the silent salute at the earthquake - MK: the sofa kiss - XKY: the night talk between her and Dr. Shao by the pool at the resort - Wenbo: when XKL and MK taught him how to hold umbrella - Dr. Shao: the six of them BBQing at the resort Here is the whole recording for those of you who are interested: I am in the rabbit hole of Bai Jingting now... I just watched his cut in The Rise of Phoenixes, God, his look there is sooo good. I hope he can star in a historic costume drama soon! Rumors are that his new show 80s and 90s will air at the end of month - so that is what I will watch I guess :-)))
  10. Finished the last episodes. The bus scene was more intense than expected, even though I more or less knew what happened. Kudos to the directing of the scene as well as the acting to the leads. I was quite impressed by BJT's acting here when he got hurt... it was very real and I was feeling his pain. The rest is just a good wrap-up of all the stories, and the ending scene where they talked about their profession and their relationships was a nice touch too. Of course, XKL is really good at being romantic in his own way. All the flashback as they toured the training camp just made me feel all the emotions again... I have to say, despite all the shortcomings, the couple of Xing Kelei and Mika is easily one of my all-time favorite, as far as their relationship goes. The writers did a great job portraying a healthy and mature relationship, the actors gave each character even more personality, the on-site chemistry and improvisation made it to the next level in term of being funny, relatable, and making us swoon. It is hard to say good bye to these two, but it has been a fun ride.
  11. Today is the day.... Let us hope for lots of sweet moments in the last episodes.
  12. This is easily the best BTS... God knows how many times I have watched it. The director mentioned in an interview that this is also improvised and designed by the actors... At this point, I feel that all the famous scenes are the results of improvisation. It really shows how comfortable they are with each other and how good the chemistry is. Episode 37-38: I am with @40somethingahjumma that I don't like how they handled revealing of the news to XKL. While I understand how it might slip MK's mind to tell XKL about this since it is a long shot, it should not have taken her so long to discuss this with him once she got to know that she is through the first round. XKL shouldn't hear the news from Keyao either. The drama is unnecessary, given how things have been handled before. However, I DO like their reactions once the news broke. XKL has to be my favorite ML at this point... The hug he gave her when she ran out to see him... the way he said "you have no confidence in yourself or in me... I don't want you to have regrets... though I am still not willing to let you go..." and "I am a police. I am loyal. I will wait for you". The scene on the balcony really made me tear up. Of course, the line "you should ask me how much I love you instead"... Two more episodes and we are in for more drama, injury and hopefully lots of sweet moments. I am not ready to let XKL and MK go...
  13. I really like the two new episodes. It is not dramatic as the previous ones and went back to everyday life of doctors and police, but it really tells the story of these two professions and the two people who are in love but sometimes have to face the reality of their jobs. It breaks my heart to see Mika in isolation, but we also know she knows that XKL would have come immediately if it is not for his job. I guess this is reality they have to recon with, and I suppose that it is the last step in their growth, both as individually and as a couple. My favorite scenes: - XKL came back and held MK from the back. He said: you told me to leave the strongest side to others and the weakest side to you, you should do the same. - Wenbo and XKL held hands with the rings on. hahahahahahaha
  14. Ok - I am glad that the two sisters are out of the picture. Keyao is the boss, and it is very smart of Dr. Shao to ask her to come over. I feel that he was trying to make a hint to her that she should be his girlfriend. :-))))) Though the sisters' plot is very cliche and a bit over the top, I like how our OTP handled this. There is transparency, maturity, and mutual understanding. If this is the plot they had to use to let us see how sweet out OTP is, so be it... My favorite scenes between the OTP are - the one where XKL was resting his head on MK at the hallway of the hospital and told her: you are so good - the one after Keyao told the sisters off, and XKL went to apologize to MK. I think it is hard to translate the last part in English when MK said "hong hong wo", and hong means humour someone with nice words and make them happy (usually you use it with kids), so here she meant "say something nice to me and make me happy". XKL being a dork, he didn't know what to say and start to make train sounds "hong hong" in the end... because the pronunciations are similar
  15. Bai Rap is the best You can watch the NZND episodes of Who's the Murderer if you like rapper BJT. hahaha I can get behind this idea if it is only for one day....
  16. Just finished episodes 27-28. Oh my, where do I even start? I really love these two episodes, and there are some many wonderful moments of all three CPs. If I could, I would watch Xing Kelei and Mika all day long, because their interactions are so precious - sweet, touching, sincere... It really speaks volume for these two actors and the director to make these mundane moments seem natural, relatable yet loving. There are small moments of tensions here and there, but at the end of the day, they are always honest with each other. There is no agony, and we as audience can always trust that these two will handle their relationship in a transparent and mature way. It made the watching experience so much better. My top moments: - the waiting scenes when XKL is in operation, both Mika, Keyao, and the squad - the night before the operation where XKL let MK listen to his calm heartbeat - when XKL wakes up and MK feeds him watermelon, and Keyao comes and XKL says "I am your cute younger brother" hahahaha Also, Dr. Shao is as good a boyfriend as XKL. Finally, Wenbo, you deserved every kick you got. hahaha
  17. Just want to post this picture here. Bai Jingting posted it on Weibo captioned "don't worry. I am fine." Xing Kelei might be one of my favorite (if not the favorite) MLs in drama land (Fan Xian from Joy of Life is a close call ;-)). He is not perfect by any means, but as far as boyfriend goes, he is really that good... plus, he is just too handsome. :-)))))) I like how despite some hesitation, he came to the right way to handle the situation. I guess what Mika said about being responsible to people who trust you by taking care of yourself did the trick. There are not many OTP scenes in these two episodes, but they are all so previous. I really like the one when she told her that she will always by his side, he teased her "of course, otherwise what else would you do?", and the scene on the bus. They are still awkward, but given the context, it felt extra warm.
  18. @NiteWalker You are lightning speed with the novel.... :-)))) I guess the adaptation made things more simple and probably easier for the audience, and more relatable as well. For instance, I saw another clip of interview with BJT where he talked about XKL's personality. He said that in reality, those SWAT police are like this: they are very serious when at work, but in personal life, they can be cute and soft. They may be awkward but they are always sincere. BTW, I really like this poster!
  19. Done with the two new episodes. I think these two are more like the transition phase before next block of plots, both regarding the main couple and the second couple. Regarding the main couple, the hospital scene where Mika was mad at XKL for getting hurt is really fun. Then the hug outside the hospital is very moving. I feel that I always prefer hugging scenes. For XKL, it is hard for him to accept the disease because he cannot see himself being anything other than a SWAT police. I really like the scene where he was at the intersection thinking about what just happened, while everyone else is moving around him... very nice shot... And Wenbo.... it is too frustrating! I don't really understand why he hesitates so much. I feel when he says "his only friends are the ones from the SWAT squad", he is suggesting that he doesn't want to hurt the feelings of Lu Feng? But that also does not make much sense.... It is good that Xiao Xia has given up on him, because he needs to be the one doing the chasing now. I hope Xiao Xia makes him chase hard!!! I think the character of Xiao Xia is written quite well. She knows what she wants and is always transparent about her feelings. I also like how she treats Lu Feng - no is a no, and I will not give you any room for interpretation. Yanshan... oh well... As someone who needs to research, I think deleting someone's data is really unacceptable!!!! I like the speech Dr. Shao gave her. In Cdrama, they tend to get too preachy when it comes to professional scenes. I remember rolling my guys a couple times in previous episodes (maybe I am prejudiced;-)). But the lines here are really good, and I was moved. Edit: how to add gif to a post besides using URL? Can you upload? For some reason, URL doesn't work for me....
  20. A new interview with BJT about YAMH. Rough translation on the main points. Q1: how did you prepare for the role physically? BJT said that he initially thought he should buff up more. But when he went to train with the SWAT police, he realized that they are super lean, because they had lots of cardio training everyday. So before the shooting, he was focusing on reducing his BMI. He said his BMI reached the historical low at that point. Q2: Many people love the SWAT+Doctor setting. How about you? BJT said that he didn't think much about it when he got the script. He only thought about it as two professions from an acting point of view. But these two professions will lead to big dramatic encounters due to the nature of them. Then the host asked him about the scene where he was eating instant noodle and watching Go Go Squid. He said that in reality he was acting in front of a blank screen. He only knew which drama it was when that scene aired. Q3: When you acted in the scene where you went to buy tank top for MK, were you embarrassed or shy? BJT said he was not because he knew that it was shooting. But the awkward part was that that was the first scene they shot outside the closed environment (the SWAT camp), so they were afraid that people would take pictures and spoil the scene. If the first and only pictures that came out were from a bra shop, it would be a bit weird. (hahahaha) Q4: How do you feel about working with MSC? BJT: I think her acting is really good, very natural. Same as expected. We had lots of improvisations during the shooting, and we react well to each other's improvisation. Host then asked if you would design details yourself. BJT: yes, quite a bit. We would improvise small things at the shooting, including lines. For instance, I remember well this scene of hers where shed called my name:" Xing Kelei, Xing Kelei, Xing Kelei". She designed it on the spot, and it was not in the script. That was such a moving and fluttering moment, and it was her improvisation. Also later on in lots of dating scenes, she would provide her views from a women's point, and suggest changes. Q5: Many XKL's scenes (such as writing lines on the hand, silent salute at the earthquake site) got very popular. Will you communicate with the director about designing these details beforehand? BJT: First, our director respects the actors' feedback and thoughts very much. Any good improvisation we have at the shooting, he would consider and say yes, let's do it. He supports many of our points. Actually, the cheat cheat on the hand scene was not in the script. But I thought, as a SWAT police with not much dating experiences, such an act will reveal his nerdy-ness, his dorky-ness while being very caring. And it is very funny and it a very different act. So I asked the director if we could add this detail and he said yes right away. The silent salute scene was not in the script either, but the scene where we say take care and I salute kept appearing in my head from when we started shooting to when this was actually shot. Finally, that day, I told the director that today might be the best day to shoot this scene and asked him if we can add this detail. I think that this scene will reflect the special nature of police and doctor profession, the tension between the work and the relationship, at that crucial moment. The director said yes right away and we finished this scene very quick and it was very nice. (I have to run, so no time to translate the last question, but it was about how they make fun of the name of the drama as a way to advertise the drama). Just want to shout out to the two actors!!! The scenes we love so much are their improvisation - no wonder this drama can be so good!!
  21. I am in Europe... the time zone in the middle who get to talk a bit to both sides. With this, we can announce that YAMH has a global audience
  22. Here is a link to the book (to read online): http://www.qxtxt.com/nishiwodechengchiyinglei/
  23. Yes, especially the last sentence! :-DDD They can fight, but they should always be honest with each other. @NiteWalker Thank you so much for the points! I am proudly wearing my XKL badge now
  24. I was shocked when I watched the clip from last night - how is this cute boy Xing KeLei?! I guess he really did a great job in this role. He also mentioned in the live streaming that Bai Jingting is more boring (introvert) than XKL, but the similarity is that they both are good at bantering. :-)))))))) To be honest, I was suspicious of his acting because I never watched anything from him and I was afraid that I would only see Bai Jingting rather than the character. I am so happy that I have been proven wrong. @NiteWalker I really love him in "who is the murderer" - funny, smart, and cute. Also, it is such a fun show! I am currently watching S5 EP6 (NZND). It is right before he started to shoot YAMH. He wore a wig probably because he already cut his hair very short for the drama. But his whole outfit and style in that episode is soooo good.
