No new spoiler for me. The drama has been changed quite a bit from the webtoon. I am kinda skip watching already. The beginning of ep.9 was kinda hard to watch, like so out of tone with the previous episodes. Esp. seeing the major change in real Seung Cheon, although later the reason was revealed. It just made me confused for a bit when watching. Like there is a missing gap.

He looked wacko lols, could not stop laughing, that is the real Sungjae.

Just finished episode 1 and wow.

The cast in this drama are some veterans, some newbies and they are doing a good job.

FL seems to not be like by her BIL and i can laredy see that he will bever succeed but will probably get a girl pregnant and get married early. He won't mature until the end of the drama. Typical BIL  theme

  3. Preview

Watched episode 9. I now agree with you that the uncle killed JH's dad to get rid of SC.

Now the uncle feels more animosity against SC.

Seems that the uncle tried to kill SC many times when he was in the US.

TY reading the notes on the golden spoon. How will he act? I really think TY has a vague hazy memories about his real life.

SC helped his family financially. I really want SC to return to his real life after settling things for TY. Poor TY has panic attacks because of the creepy sleazy uncle. Also SC will learn the value of family. Now after graduation, SC can work and be with his family and with JH.

The problem lies with JN, she has the spoon, and she wants to control SC. But really does SC wants to return back to his life?

@ktcjdrama After ten years JH treats TY as a friend, while he wants more.

I know it is probably posted before, but couldn't resist posting it. It is so dreamy, reflecting reminiscence and memories. I like it.

@ktcjdrama I hope you continue watching, I really dislike most of the characters, but I like the main leads. Will try to bear with the provocative characters for some time, but really don't know if I can. lols

Anyhow there weren't much interactions between the leads in eps 12 but I did enjoy grandpa putting  High Heels  in her place and telling her not to interfere on what he plans for KJ. But agree with younger brother. KJ and him are like puppets for the old man and High Heels , and the boys are well aware taking it in their stride.

I like nickname High Heels 🤣 haraboji is so humorous lols

  6. The FIL is good, he bought herbal medicine for YY and defended her. Her brat SIL took her job at the clinic, I feel so bad for YY :(

The new girl in the love triangle will be a source of trouble :(

Don't know when she will give up. Hopefully she will go to the brother soon.  HM's mom is so provocative just like her daughter. :(

will YY work with KJ? I think haraboji will help them both, he already likes YY. If he finds out about her daughter, will he change his mind,?

  7. I don't mind a second Male lead romance for some time,  because right now SJ's mom is getting on my nerves, so I need some distraction. SJ is good but he can't beat all the people around him. TJ is not in a very good position.

I liked it when the two sisters united with their brother in ep. 6. They were upset by the fiance cheating on their bro.

I think when Tea is at her most hyper, she changes Oppas almost weekly, so you're still pretty loyal comparatively

it is possible as she watches several mini-series, I believe it lol.

for me it is different because I watch long drama that lasts for 6 month, or 5 month at least :)

@abs-oluteM Thanks, i've been lurking for a while, but with a new drama i might aswell do an account here. Been using Soompi for years under the name "Lunkera". But i see less and less people on soompi.

Hello chingu, I use the same name in soompi.

I came here long ago because I like my friends @stroppyse and @abs-oluteM , so I wanted to be with them.

If he had a Golden Spoon, who would BtoB’s Yook Sung-jae swap lives with in real life?

If he had a Golden Spoon, who would BtoB’s Yook Sung-jae swap lives with in real life?

It wasn't a tough question for the K-pop idol and Mystic Pop-Up Bar actor who opened up to CNA Lifestyle. Hint: He's an extremely popular British actor who plays an extremely popular Marvel superhero.

If he had a Golden Spoon, who would BtoB’s Yook Sung-jae swap lives with in real life?

In Disney+’s fantasy K-drama The Golden Spoon, K-pop boyband BtoB’s Yook Sung-jae plays a poor student who stumbles upon a magical golden spoon that he uses to switch places with a rich friend several times, in the hopes of turning his life around.

It’s a premise reminiscent of Mark Twain’s classic The Prince And The Pauper, but also one meant to provoke a question about society and materialism: Does the wealth of your parents determine your ultimate destiny?

The director, Robin Song, knew the show, which is based on a webtoon of the same name, “might make some of the audience feel very uncomfortable”.

“But we now live in an era where rags-to-riches stories are a thing of the past with a pervasive sense of resignation and cynicism about the wealth of your parents determining your destiny,” he said during a recent press conference.

“I wanted to capture with honesty our individual desires towards that trend and the general social tendencies of our time through our show and most importantly, I made great efforts to point to these aspects of our society in a direct way.”

It's this very nuanced and layered storytelling that made lead actor Yook want to take up the challenge of portraying Lee Seung-cheon in his first-ever project after completing military service.

“The characters I played in my previous projects like Mystic Pop-up Bar and Goblin were a little mischievous, light-hearted and cheerful. I thought Lee Seung-cheon in The Golden Spoon would be an opportunity for me to portray someone who is slightly darker and more serious. I chose this series because I wanted to expand the spectrum of characters I play,” he shared. “Most importantly, I chose The Golden Spoon because of director Song.”

So what if the 27-year-old K-pop and K-drama star had the fantastical opportunity to switch lives with someone in real life, even for a day? CNA Lifestyle had to ask: Who would he choose?

“Tom Holland!” Yook replied with a big laugh and without hesitation. “Tom Holland! Tom Holland! I mean, who wouldn’t want to play Spider-Man?”

Indeed, the constant swapping of lives can only encourage the characters in The Golden Spoon to grow and change. Having finally completed his military service, how has life changed for Yook, as he starts taking on more roles such as Lee in the show?

“After completing my military service, I lived in an illusion for a while,” Yook shared candidly. “I thought the military service transformed me into someone who likes cleaning and who is more mature, prudent, and serious. But after about two months, I realised that I was still the same mischievous, immature boy about to turn 30 soon. The only difference, according to people who know me, would be that I became a little relaxed. I don’t know how to describe it, but my attitude towards my friends became more genuine and authentic.”

The Golden Spoon is currently streaming on Disney +.
