@multiloverss and @JenL indeed, all the photoshopped pics of Rara and Jun are great and makes me so happy. It reminds me of the happy episodes of DDSSLLS.

The Balenciaga incident made us so happy hahaha what more if they really do a photoshoot or project together again and their chemistry is crazy even if they just wearing the same brand in different locations!

Thank you guys for sharing bits of news about our Rara and Jun;) I'm so glad GAR attended the Blue Dragon Awards last night, I think it's an omen that we'll be hearing news about a new drama or film that she'll be making. I hope it's a good one. GAR looks so pretty at the awards and she still has her Rara hair;)

As for LJW, I'm glad he turned down the offer from KBS, I was even suspecting from the plot of the drama that it will be a daily drama and hoped that he'll disagree to play the part. Yey for LJW! I'm glad that his agency is powerful enough for him to turn down a lead drama role in the early part of his career. I'm happy he has enough star power now to decline a role;) Hope GAR and LJW's next projects will be interesting and I'm still hoping for a reunion project sometime in the near future;)

I am re-watching random episodes of DDSSLLS right now but I still can't re-watch the episodes 13-16 hahaha

I do think that LJW deserves his award but Rara should have won as well. Anyway, @twinkler0415, I have read before that GAR received so much criticism with her acting in Heading to the Ground so maybe that's why she took a hiatus from acting for several years after that. During this time, she was just very active in doing many CFs. She was also very active with her studies that time and finished it before joining Reply 1994. Yey! for GAR for finding time to finish her university degree;)

On a side note, I have learned that LJW was not able to enter the university that he wants to major in for acting so he studied again for university admissions for a year after high school (like Jun they were both late in entering university! haha) and was finally able to enter Chung Ang University (the university of Hyun Bin, GAR and many others) BUT only finished one semester because he got the role in Memories of the Alhambra and became the monster rookie that he is right now. He is actually on leave since then from Chung Ang University to focus on his acting career.

Anyway, going back to GAR, after her great comeback with Reply 1994, she became very active with many projects. Maybe because, school is not an issue anymore and she got really popular with Reply 1994. I do think that many of her dramas should have earned her acting awards but most of her well-received dramas were in cable channels like TVN, OCN and JTBC. Sadly her dramas in mainstream like KBS and SBS do not rate much (Hwarang, DDSSLLS) and her Haechi role was shortened because of her injuries. I really think that GAR is someone who works hard and tries to improve herself with every project, I know that someday her awards will eventually happen;)

@JenLI really like that instagram account of Rara and Jun and I liked that they edited the video to make it look like that Rara and Jun had their happy ending (the baby being theirs and that they were together all those 5 years).

@purplefinand @multiloverss, I totally agree! No weddings for LJW in ANY drama until he has one with GAR in a drama or a movie or a special project, even a photo shoot is fine with me! We deserve that! hahah

"The first half is pretty easy to watch with its bright characters and humorous story. While I do think everyone did well and the characters were fine, for me, Go Ara really carried this drama. @twinkler0415 though I think it would be very funny if LJW would act as someone whose not smart and unsophisticated he will be showing a new side of him;) I read in the synopsis that his character's family is well-off but came from humble gamjatang (pork bone soup) business. I hope his character will be quirky and dorky with a BIG warm heart like Rara;) BUT I miss Rara and Jun! When is our season 2??

I just read a report on Soompi that Moon Ga Young will star opposite Kim Seon Ho in Link so I think the reports about LJW in this drama is false. I also think Kim Ji-won turned this drama down since Moon Ga Young will be taking the lead female role. I hope LJW and GAR both find good projects soon. And for a little bit to cheer us up, If Moon Ga Young and Kim Seon Ho do this project, it will be the second time they will be working as partners, the first being Waikiki 2 so there is hope someday that GAR and LJW will work on another project;)

Hello @twinkler0415, actually the biggest downfall of DDSSLLS is not the ratings because most weekday dramas of KBS did not perform well this year but the tightly and cohesively written script/story of the other dramas. Memorials has been praised for its good script/storyline. The last few episodes really undid the efforts of our cast and crew. Sometimes or most of the time, a drama can redeem itself in its good, clear and feel good ending (I still feel cheated that we didn't have a wedding scene between the leads, Start up even has wedding pictures in the end! and even More than friends!) It can even create a whole new following after its run. Sadly, that is not the case with DDSSLLS. The ending really dampen the star power of the drama that led to the cancellation of the DVD and the accolades/awards it could have won. KBS must have suffered a great deal from the hate comments after the last few episodes (it started with the fake wedding then Jun's 360 degree character change then the disastrous Ep. 16 -people still speculate that Jun is a ghost! or that Rara became crazy or died and was reunited with Jun) And because I have followed a lot of KBS dramas and has watched every KBS awards ceremony this decade. I can say that they usually give awards to the really big dramas (ratings monsters) and to the actors and actresses that they have plans to be leads in their immediate future dramas or will be a part of their variety shows. I will not be surprise if LJW will be the lead of another KBS drama (weekday or weekend this 2021).

Anyway, I have watched one interview of LJW and GAR for DDSSLLS and LJW said that the atmosphere of the drama has changed a lot (based on the date of interview and their looks, they are already filming the last few episodes). I really think that if they have kept the drama light and fluffy all through out, we would have seen a larger following (either by word of mouth or by sheer force of us fanatics hahaha) Though I love DDSSLLS I am cautious to recommend it to others because of the last few episodes (I do not want them to suffer as I did or make enemies! )

Maybe GAR is not that big of a name in S. Korea anymore? She also doesn't have that big fanbase compared to new names now. 

Actually Suzy's dramas are nice, she's not wow but she's ok (try Dream High, While You Were Sleeping and Start Up).

I think that GAR is still a household name in South Korea and an ok actress. I really do not understand all the hate comments about her acting because if we will look closely, MANY Korean stars are mediocre in the acting department but South Korea have almost perfected the formula -good story (uniqueness or interesting plot, heartwarming, compelling and epic swoon moments) great cinematography and beautiful OST; that's why they have a massive following worldwide. It does not hurt that the actors and actresses are handsome and pretty with flawless skin! I have watched other GAR dramas and for me her acting is ok. She was greatly criticized in Hwarang but for me her Aro there was ok and I even think that her performance in Black was good. She was great in Reply 1994 though and made me think how hard working she is. I really do not understand all the hate (maybe she's so pretty because she really is! that people need to nitpick everything about her to feel better). But no worries also, she still has a lot of followers and fans that support her and the best thing about her is her positivity. LJW sure is right that she is the Queen of Positivity because despite her criticisms and antis, she is always bright and kind. I have never read nor heard that she answered negatively or treated someone poorly.

Thank you @Just_Me for sharing the translated speeches of YJW and LJW during the KBS Awards. It's heartwarming when YJW mentioned the Eunpo folks and Rara in her speech. LJW's said in his IG post that he forgot a lot things he wanted to say because he was so nervous but he's such a sweetie for always mentioning his mom in all his speeches. I dread the day that he'll bring home his wife to be   Anyway, I still believe that GAR should have gotten an award for playing Rara. Her character is hard to play actually, on paper Rara is annoying and frustrating but GAR made her Rara endearing, relatable and someone we all all root for. It's also worth mentioning here that on Naver, many netizens commented on LJW's KBS awards video that they were happy for him but GAR should have won as well. They said that it could have been nice if they both won awards for DDSSLLS. Many were disappointed with KBS. I have always noticed in Korean Awards and many kstars pointed out that they're based on ratings and star power and not on the actual performance of the actors or actresses. There's this one year in MBC that Cho Seung Woo (Forest of Secrets/Strangers 1-2) won the Daesang for the drama the Horse Doctor, he said in his speech and in his interviews that he should have not won and another was more deserving of it! hahaha he was really disappointed and baffled when he was giving his speech and interviews, and whenever it was mentioned in his interviews he would always say that his daesang was an error on MBC's part! hahahaha Kudos to CSW for always being honest and transparent.

Anyway,  I just hope that GAR will keep on improving herself for she has so much potential so her long awaited awards will eventually come. For LJW, I just hope that he'll keep on improving as well and not rest on his laurels and will maintain his humble and sweet ways.

1. Who was an actor/actress you discovered this year that blew you away?

   Actors:

   Lee Do-Hyun - I knew he's a good actor and I liked him in Still 17 but this year he showed  

   great range and versatility in his different projects (18 Again and Sweet Home), he's definitely an

   actor to look out for:) 

  Song Kang- I thought he's ok in Love Alarm and another pretty face but I was pleasantly surprised

   in Sweet Home, I am definitely looking forward to his other projects.

  Nam Joo-hyuk- I liked that he took on roles that were diverse and different from each other and    

 showed how much he has matured as an actor. His role in the Nurse Files made me sit up and took notice of him as an actor but his earnest portrayal as Nam Dosan did the last round for me to take it to home run and made me a new fan;)

Actresses:

Go Ara- I liked her in Reply 1994 but was never really a fan. I thought she's just another pretty face in the throngs of many in Kdramaland but I was happily contradicted with her great performance as DDSSLLS's Rara. She is the heart and soul of that drama;) She has been overlooked by many in Kdramaland for many years but ROMCOM is definitely her forte, I even question now why was she not chosen as the lead for the Koren adaptation of Nodame Cantabile, she would have rocked that role;) I hope GA continues to improve herself and show the Kdramaland what a gem she truly is.

Suzy- I always thought that she's overly hyped by Korean media (looks wise and acting wise) but her Start-Up's Seo Dalmi made me smile, good job Suzy!;)

2. Who was the most memorable character you watched this year? 

  Kingdom S2's Prince Chang -He was the king that never ruled but was the best king in the land;)  

  Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol's Gu Rara -she's so bright and quirky that she gave a lot of sunshine in the

 last days of my 2020

 Seo Dalmi's father in Start-up -what a tragic character, I still cry for his what could have been (such

 brilliant acting from the Kim Joo-hun)

3. What drama did not meet your expectations? 

    The King the Eternal Monarch and Record of Youth (let us just say that I have waited and

    anticipated these dramas for months then ....)

4. Was there a drama that did not have a big following but you thoroughly enjoyed it? 

    I'll come to you when the weather is nice- such a quiet and contemplative drama, it deserves more

    love;)

    Mystic Pop Up Bar- so much laughs, heart and sweet moments;)

    Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol- the potential of this drama makes me sad, if only....

5. Was 2020 a good year in drama land? 

    I think so, despite the fact that we are in the midst of the pandemic but productions still went

    ahead and gave us a lot of comfort in these uncertain times, they were the distraction and the pill

   that we needed to escape even for a while so we can hope and prepare for better days;)

Hello friends! Just want to comment on GAR being big in South Korea, yes she is big, one of the hallyu stars. She generated a lot of buzz from her debut days because of her beautiful face and striking hazel eyes. I don't think she nor LJW will speak ill against the DDSSLLS production because for one, they are both good and gentle people. Second, the production is also quiet about the people's complains about the ending. Third, many dramas have disappointing and vague endings as well (let's say I have invested a lot of time in ALICE only to be confused and dazed in the later episodes and shocked at the wreck that is called their ending! hahaa)

Anyway, PHJ did complain about Cheese in the Trap because the original author of the webtoon complained first about the drama's direction and the fans of the webtoon were going crazy that time because the drama deviated so much from the original webtoon. The production even apologized to the original author after that incident. PHJ's scenes were also reduced a lot, he filmed a lot of scenes only to be deleted and in the later episodes, he became a side character and not the lead anymore for the story focused on the FL and the second lead so people were complaining. It was really unfair for him...

DDSSLLS is an original work of the scriptwriter and technically she has the liberty to do want she wants with her universe. Well, we just all wish that it was more logical, clearer, better and happier for Rara and Jun.

I saw the episode and it was a good cameo;) My heart still hurts for Baek Kyung! Even in the cameo Eun Dan O still looks for Haru after the stage! haha kudos to LJW and KHY;) and aww LJW is really good in playing bad characters hahaha No trace of DDSSLLS's Jun in that cameo CEW looks meek and mild compared to him;) I like that CEW's Soo-ho literally just jumped through seats to protect Ju-Kyung

One of my favorites, always makes me laugh! and what a shame that they did not show Jun and Rara driving around that night!  GAR was so cute in this scene, I like her outfit and style in this one;)

And this one is for the books;) They are soooo cute and played these characters so well. Kudos to GAR and LJW for being great actors;) The Manbok and Sunja story line makes me want to see them act in a period drama!  Is it too much to ask drama gods????

I was also wondering if they have more than one winner becuase I saw a clip on last year's awards,  there were like 5 couple on stage for best couple.  'Forest' couple might be hard to beat if there is only one winner becuase park hae jin and jo bo ah can also pull numbers, they are super duper famous.

Hello @purplefin I was also wondering about this as well. It seemed that LJW observed GAR quite a lot for him to notice that she's eating only one brand of gum! hahaha I, for one would not notice that about my colleagues or I would not care whatever they're eating The monaka incident in the Swoon game was really funny too, GAR did not even notice that she said the correct answer! hahaha and LJW finding GAR's script and phone on set was really funny and sweet as well. He must be so observant of everything that she's doing or everything that she has to be able to mind these things. I agree with many of you, he must have a tiny bit of a crush on GAR;) well, who wouldn't right? she's beautiful, easy-going and such a ball of sunshine;) I remember she was a guest at Three Meals a Day and Taecyeon said that for him, GAR is the prettiest actress;)

LJW has an advantage though, being young he can navigate doing high school roles and looking mature, he's believable in playing 30 year old characters. I find it funny too that he kept on reminding everyone that he's the maknae! hahaha BTW, I also did it a lot  like LJW hahah I was always younger by 1-2 years than my classmates in school and was the youngest at work for several years, it was a bit of a shame when I finally gave up that maknae title hahahaa really just you wait LJW being 22 is not forever!

Hahaha, I feel like Lala didn't know it was him because she'd never seen him with glasses since they met again, whereas he as wearing them the first time they ran into each other. The only wears them in one other scene from memory - when he's building her room by himself? 

hahaha yes, I think they really enjoyed that scene in Ep. 15! hahaha GAR was so comfortable around LJW that she just hugged him and LJW was flustered! He is so JUN! anyway I loved that Jun's wish finally came true, sleeping next to Rara and yes, you are right @JenL, Jun did wear his glasses only when he was doing the design for the room renovation;)

Me too! Flustered Jun is the best! haha I also love their first meeting at the DDSSLLS cafe, how can Rara forget such a meeting?! Can't help but laugh at clueless Rara! And I totally agree with you the picture taking scene at the piano recital was great (LJW totally captured the sadness, longing, awkwardness and confusion that Jun was feeling at that moment) This scene made me appreciate  more the wedding bouquet scene, when I first saw that scene I was very surprised why Jun was looking at Rara with such intensity. It made me wonder why such sadness and shock for a love at first sight scene. LJW did such a good job because he was able  to show not only a potential love at first sight but something deeper. When the reveal of their real first meeting was shown, everything made sense to me;)

This scene never fails to make me smile and say aloud- "Jun found himself a doll! a princess doll!" I really can't blame Jun for doing everything for Rara He's obviously and painfully smitten here 101%  !

Another favorite of mine (I have screen shot it from Netflix) Jun teasing Rara about their sleeping arrangement and Rara almost knocking both of them down from his bike haha Jun makes the cutest smile afterwards

Hello @twinkler0415;) it's usually very easy to find the KBS live stream. They usually do live stream in their official YT channel as well. I hope you'll be able to watch it too on that day;) I'm glad you were able to vote as well. I went through hoops to vote for them! (my Chrome is not translating the page so I had to try several times for several days). It is also my first time voting for a drama awards for a kdrama, I can't be bothered before but for DDSSLLS I just had too  I'm also baffled why! hahaha

Actually, I was anticipating to watch DDSSLLS on KBS World but to my disappointment, it was not part of its broadcast;( maybe because of Netflix, that's why, it was only shown in KBS Korea and Netflix for world wide audience.
