  1. Hello! Just want to say thank you for all the tips on how to vote for the KBS Drama awards. I was able to vote today and my votes are locked in already;) I'm just glad that I am able to do my share for the drama that we all love;) Again, kamsahamnida P.S. I usually watch the KBS Drama awards live every Dec. 31 because we have KBS world at home and we usually love KBS dramas. I think they are a bit late though of announcing who will be the hosts for this year. I hope its LJW and GAR;)
  2. @purplefin and @JenL I think that LJW's response about his ideal type is somewhat true, I've seen a lot of his interviews thanks to my intense liking of DDSSLLS! haha and I find him very honest about his responses. Not sure if he's very new to interviews haha or he's just plain in awe of the whole process so he can't help but say his honest thoughts;) Anyway, he said that aside from his ideal type as someone positive, he wants to be remembered as a positive person as well. I was pleasantly surprised in The Swoon game that he described GAR as that, he could have said other million things about her but chose to describe her as Queen of Positivity. GAR is such a ball of sunshine that maybe one can't help but remember that about her. Well, LJW and GAR are both such happy energies. They're both playful and friendly with everyone in their drama BTS. And I think that GAR is really comfortable with LJW. I just want to point out that their KBS mini interviews were very entertaining.I think they did it on the same day they had their radio guesting with Jung Eunji (If you have not watch it, you should! It made me smile the whole 30 minutes, even though I do not understand half of the things they were talking about! and LJW seemed such a goner with GAR's cuteness in that one) and their Press Conference. One thing I like about their KBS mini interviews is that they were talking as if they are not on camera haha they do not hesitate to ask, clarify or tease each other about their answers I find it really refreshing and endearing, they seemed to have created a good bond through their drama. I really hope they continue to show their positive vibes wherever they go;) Here is the link to the radio show:
  3. @twinkler0415 I laughed so hard when I saw that BTS, LJW was so shy after the kiss scene that he just quickly fled from the cable car only to be hit by a props man! hahahaha I also think that he's in awe of GAR, he's so accommodating and sweet ;) I really like in one of the swoon games, he was tasked to throw a piece of popcorn into his mouth (3 tries) and when he was getting the popcorn in the bag, he said that he likes them in caramel flavor and GAR said that she does as well and he gave her a piece awww so sweet! and then said to her that she should eat it after his task hahaha I also like the Swoon telepathy games (English subbed and Korean version) because even though their answers do not match most of the time haha they would talk about their answers with each other, I've seen the same game with other celebrities and most just answer the question and go on to the next one, I like that GAR and LJW discussed their answers to each other and try to get to know and understand one another. It shows how considerate they both are and are interested in each other (friendly or otherwise) LJW is a newbie actor but he can definitely hold his ground against veteran actors and actresses in the field. I think he and his company is being very careful about his image. He seems very friendly but he's trying to be neutral with his reactions and interactions with others especially actresses. GAR seems to be very private as well, aside from her updates in her instagram, she is rarely seen in variety shows and guesting. In most of her drama BTS, one can tell that she has an easy-going personality. I hope that we'll see LJW and GAR in a good production soon. If Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji min can do it (they are in 3 productions together in a span of two years -a previous drama, a movie and a new drama in the works) I hope LJW and GAR can too;) well, one can hope;)
  4. I miss Rara and Jun;) Thanks for starting this new thread;)
  5. Great journal spread @JenL!;) and thank you for the link of the instrumental OST, it's my favorite too, so hopeful and happy at the same time. Really fits the core message of the drama- HOPE amidst the darkness of depressing and uncontrollable trials of life. It really fits Rara and Jun's journey;)
  6. Yes @JenL I'm in a good place now;) hahaha SWOON WORTHY MOMENTS 1. Laundry scene (Jun's wise words that made Rara stopped in her tracks and us too) 2. Jun building Rara her own room (how awesome can he get!) while mimi looks on 3. Jun hugging Rara and telling her not to go (despite the many attempts of Rara to hug him!) 4. Jun telling Rara that she'll do great teaching Jae-min and Rara openly blushing and touching Jun! hehe 5. Jun asking Rara if he's grown taller and swooping in for a kiss Sometimes, one just really need to look at the bright side of things to appreciate the full picture (dark and light)
  7. Lee Jae-wook caught my attention in "Extraordinary You" but sadly I did not stick around to watch all the episodes of that drama. I was just surprised that he was that Marco in "Memories of the Alhambra" haha So when I watched "When the weather is fine" I was pleasantly surprised that he took on such a different role and made Jang-woo there so entertaining and endearing. When I started watching DDSSLLS, I was so intrigued by Jun that I watched "Search: WWW" and concluded that this rookie actor can definitely act! And for the life of me, his mannerisms and the way he delivers his lines remind me so much of Hyun Bin! I was so surprised that he's under the same management;) I guess, Hyun Bin saw something in LJW and made him remember his earlier years. He can definitely hold his ground amidst experienced actors and actresses. I found him funny and sincere in his BTS. I really hope he's really a nice guy and would continue doing his best. I hope he will not be afraid to explore different genres to hone his skills as an actor. He's been receiving rookie awards left and right, so hopefully it will not stop there. Aja! aja! Fighting LJW!;)
  8. Hello @JenL! Thankfully after a week, I have calmed down enough to just remember the good things about this drama. I just love all the characters of this drama and how it made me so happy and giddy for many weeks. I too can't explain the magic of this drama that even now I still miss Eunpo and all its lovely flawed citizens. There were a lot of scenes in the drama that made me laughed out loud and gave me warm fuzzy feelings for that alone I am forever grateful It pulled me out of my slump too with Kdramas though I am forever cautious now with ongoing kdramas hahaha. HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAV JUN-RARA moments;) 1. All their bike scenes (I love the small smiles that Jun makes whenever he's biking around with Rara) 2. Jun-Rara phone call when Rara told him about a random grandpa crying when she played the piano 3. Jun being flustered whenever Rara compliments him 4. Jun looking at Rara when she was admiring the stars at her window 5. Rara remembering her first encounter with Jun FAV FUNNY MOMENTS 1. Rara's winks! 2. Rara and Jun's first morning at the hospital (Rara demonstrating that she is a pianist) 3. Rara mistaking mom's Jun as the private detective's wife (never fails to make me laugh out loud till now) 4. Young Manbok harabuji when he casually discarded the shoes he's cleaning in favor of Sunja's shoes 5. Jun overreacting and stealing Rara away from her "wedding" with Dr. Cha plus everyone's reaction while they were running away Anyway, I would love to read your essay about DDSSLLS @JenLand thank you for making my comment a part of it;)

  10. It seems like KBS has not gotten over Rara and Jun just yet. They have just posted several videos and stills from the drama again in their instagram account. I'm sure people are still complaining left and right about the ending but some are just relieved that Jun was alive after all. After several days of sadness and disappointment, I'm starting to calm down hahaha I still can't re-watch Episode 16 as a whole though but I really appreciate the piano duet of Jun and Rara (that was one great scene), it's a nice happy version/rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star;) I also loved the part in Episode 15 when Rara finally remembered her first meeting with Jun! How can she forget when he's that dashing and nice! They are so cute together! I remembered why I love this drama because they're such a happy pill! There's something about the way GAR and LJW interact and present their characters when they are together, that touches their viewer's hearts and brings a little bit of everything nice in this world. I never knew that a shortage of a watermelon juice would bring me so much sunshine;)
  11. @stroppyse, yes for me it was scary! I don't usually like horrors or scary movies but every once in a while, when it's bright and sunny, I'd watch it out of sheer curiosity and to distract myself from some things haha I have manage to watch the KIngdom series because I have watched it on my phone and not on my laptop! hahaha anything bigger than my phone screen would give me nightmares for many days. I was brave and frustrated enough yesterday to watch THE CALL on my laptop, though placed in the far end of my bed! Kudos to PSH and JJS! I think I'd be cautious whenever I'd answer my phone in the next few days;)
  12. Hello @stroppyse, @mademoiselle, @Mapleoaks5 and @Tofu! To distract me yesterday from the last episode of DDSSLLS frustrations I have decided to watch this movie. Why not since it's PSH;) I do not want to write spoilers here so I'll just give a general view of it. First, the actors were all well-suited for their roles. Second, I like the fantasy element of it, very intriguing though was not explained or explored just a driving force in the movie. Third, the cinematography, editing and special effects were all great- really feels like a big budgeted movie. Fourth, it did what it meant to do-gave me chills, shivers and made me momentarily forget the Eunpo folks for I was literally scared half to death for PSH! hahah It's a good movie over-all, some plot holes and some unanswered questions but forgivable;) out of 10 rating, I'm giving it a 7.
  13. Actually KBS released stills of Jun's return and captioned them as if explaining that Jun really is still very much alive. hahaha That Jun was overwhelmed that he's return to Lalaland and they wished Rara and Jun to live happily from now on. Maybe because people were wondering with Rara if he's real or not So KBS really thought they did a wonderful job bringing him back without an epilogue of explanation. I read a comment in Dramabeans site that maybe it was a South Korean cultural thing. She shared that she had a Korean friend who was sick and was later told by the mother of her friend that her friend died already. She mourned this friend for a long time only to see her again very much alive with her family in an airport after several years. The mother did not even tried to explain to her what happened! Maybe the writer had the same experience? Your guess is as good as mine!
  14. https://www.soompi.com/article/1440731wpp/do-do-sol-sol-la-la-sol-cast-shares-their-warm-gratitude-to-each-other-and-viewers-after-dramas-finale
  15. Yes, I have finished it in one sitting and freaked me out as well! Made me forget for a little while our frustrations with DDSSLLS. I also need someone to discuss the ending with! hahaha see below;) hahaha
  16. As of this write-up, there are 98K views of the final kiss scene of Ep. 16 on Naver and 1k plus comments from Knetizens. Here are some of their comments (I have chosen the comments with most thumbs up) -The more I think about it, the more I get angry at the ending. High kick level through the roof. If it's a drama story, it should have some context, but in fact, it's just a fairy tale-like drama, so I've seen all the exaggerated things that don't seem like a fairy tale. -No, what kind of story is written like this??????????? -Rara thought of Jun for 5 years and played that song hundreds of times or thousands of times to clear her sorrow.. I think about how hard it would have been for Lara, so even seeing this scene hurts my heart. -It is clear that the writer was angry while writing this! -Ending is so absurd, why do you have to kill him and then bring him back to life? -It was a drama that gave joy, but what is this in the last episode? Same sentiments as us...
  17. Hello @Tofu! I love the Japanese Hana Yori Dango, it's my number 1 version among the many because I was not irritated with Makino in this haha the other "makinos" were frustrating haha sorry;)
  18. KBS seemed to be sorry for the BIG mess they've made with DDSSLLS, they're releasing stills again hahaha How do we demand an extended two-hour episode or a season 2? The more I think about it, the more I want a proper send off for Rara and Jun. They did not deserve what the writer did to them. I wonder what happened to the writer? was she replaced? pressured? on crack? abducted by evil makjang execs? How does Episodes 15-16 make sense in any universe?! Did the pd think that the audience will like such a route? did the actors question what happened to the characters they did so brilliantly portray from episodes 1-12? I want answers. I saw a comment on twitter that the writer must have been brokenhearted while writing episodes 13-16 because she was determined to ruin Jun and Rara's love! hahaha Because really, it was so absurd and unbelievable, plot wise, character wise or even just plain simple logical thinking. Usually after a drama ends, the actors, pd, and writer would have a round of interviews regarding their drama, I hope someone would interview the writer and ask her, "what the freak were you thinking when you wrote episodes 13-16?!" Knetizens in naver were all "WHAT JUST HAPPENED THERE?!" hahaha I just want to see how she'll explain her end, please drama gods, hear me! I'm just thankful that people were all saying good things about LJW and GAR, that they did such a good job despite the poor writing in the later episodes. Many are saying that they should get an acting and couple awards at the KBS Drama year-end awards because really they carried the show despite its absurdities and stupid plot developments. We can't even hate Jun fully because he was played by LJW with such earnestness and sincerity that whatever Jun did like Rara we don't have the heart to scold him fully. I DEMAND A SEASON 2, whose with me?
  19. My TOP 5 K-DRAMAS OF ALL TIME 1. All about Eve 2. Reply 1988 3. Princess Hours 4. Moon embracing the Sun 5. I hear your voice Japanese Dramas 1. Hana Yori Dango 2. Nodame Cantabile 3. 20. Thank you for all your insights and comments, it has been really helpful to make sense of the final episodes that we've seen. In my head, I have imagined and re-imagined all the possible scenarios that you all have been proposing and some ideas of my own because it's the only way to cope and not march to KBS and demand a rewrite and re-shoot of the last 4 episodes! hahaha I also find the BTS a great source of happiness, the cast seemed really good natured and good friends to each other. I find GAR and LJW interactions funny and sweet. LJW seemed so shy around her and used honorifics a lot hahah and GAR such a humble and easy-going sunbae to him. I hope they will do great projects from now on, together or apart;) Side note, it seemed that LJW get drunk pretty fast hahaha I laughed when GAR said that he was pretty drunk when they first had a meal together, it explains why he was so near her in their picture outside of that restaurant hahaha the director said that she liked that picture because their chemistry shined a lot! all because LJW was drunk! what a first impression! I'm still mad at writer for messing episodes 13-16 but thanks to all of you I'm coping and starting to let go of my resentments. I have learned my lesson, I'm never watching a drama written by this writer that has not been completed haha If the comments are great then I'll watch but if not I won't. I'm watching THE CALL right now in netflix , I need a good scare to forget my frustrations with the final episodes of DDSSLLS.
  21. Yes, let us think that DDSSLLS ended at Ep. 12. He stole the bride, got married and went back to Eunpo. They live at Lala Land and Jun continues his studies while working part-time while Rara cooperates her piano academy. They get help along the way from their friends. Jun's parents calmed down after a while because no parent can win over their child. Supports Jun and Rara until Jun graduates from university. They live happily ever after with 3 children - 2 boys and 1 girl (all has Rara's curls and the boys like to say "shiro" all the time and the girl likes to say "good, good, good" to everything!
  22. Thank you for the clarification @stroppyse I did not notice that or maybe I did but was too distracted with the scenario unfolding before me in Ep. 16!
  23. Where do I begin? I started watching DDSSLLS for a light watch drama. I did not expect it to be my crack this 2020. Episodes 1-12 were good and I thought that it was clever of the writer to put all the heaviness early so the remaining 4 episodes will have resolutions, reunions and lots of sweet romcom moments. SHOW, your MAIN plot problem (I'm reminding them because it seemed they have forgotten it!) was that Jun was underage, he turned 20 in the end of Ep 12 but yet to finish his CSAT). YOU SHOULD HAVE STOP with this problem and expounded on this on and how he'll maintain his relationship with Rara, finish his studies, accomplish his dreams and convince his parents that Rara is worthy of him. The last 4 episodes were a COMPLETE mess, yes show, I'm talking to you! You have messed up greatly! It was unnecessary to bring in a new girl, Rara and Jun breaking up AGAIN and Jun being sick as if the boy has not gone through so much already and Rara too (let us not forget that Rara has not grieved properly for her father because she was thrown in a series of new situations immediately after his death). I do not know what happened to the writer/s, did they really think that it was entertaining to fool the audience for the last 4 episodes. We have come to deeply care for these characters and they were consistent until Ep. 12. So trolling all for the heck of it was UNFAIR. Sorry for the spoilers but Jun appearing in the last few minutes of Ep. 16 was a big let down (I'm happy he's alive and healthy) BUT we were led to believe that he died already. Why?! Show, Why?!! Jun's mom should have called Rara that Jun's condition was not good, that she should come and see Jun for the last time (I don't think that any mother would actually travel all the way back to Korea just to deliver a cup and letter IF her son is still struggling and could die any moment). Then it would make sense that everybody was shocked and hurt and were crying because like us they were heartbroken about Jun's condition. Rara should have come to Jun and made the decision herself to stick by his side and together they overcome his sickness thus earning Jun's parents approval and spending quality time together. The 5 year separation was unnecessary and just plain stupid. It made a lot of people distressed that Jun died only to make him come back alive in the last few moments of the episode very much alive yet NO proper explanation whatsoever! Even if Jun came back dashing and mature, still, we need LOGICAL explanations or flashbacks! Of course there were many heartfelt moments in the last 4 episodes but we, the audience were distracted by the many crazy plot twists that we can't fully digest and appreciate them. How I wish we have learned what Jun's true dream was (it was Ji hoon that wanted to go to Stanford and win the Fields Medal, Jun wanted to tag along because he loves his friend) how awesome it would have been if he realized his true dream and went to accomplish it without being sick and pestered with unnecessary plot twists. How I wish, Rara never had to go through all those moments of crying and suffering alone (Jun's age lie, first break up with Jun, Jun breaking up with her, Jun being sick and dying ( or not) and was led to believe about this fact for FREAKING 5 whole years!) Yes, she was surrounded by people who loves her in Eunpo but SHOW, you do not do this kind of sick joke to someone like Rara (she's a ball of sunshine! why make her cry all the time and just expect that she'll understand and be cool about it). Kudos to Go Ara and Lee Jae-wook for being such good sports (I'm sure they themselves don't understand what happened to their "healing" rom com and why their characters acted the way they did in the last 4 episodes). Their chemistry was the best thing in this drama, they never fail to make me smile whenever they are together on screen. Now i want them to do another project together where they will be happy and sweet all the time! ;) without noble idiocy and sickness tropes! I do not understand how the writer did not utilized this strength and made them separated for most of the last 4 episodes. It would have been nice to see Rara and Jun dating happily, fighting like a real couple, overcoming their problems together, being happy for each other's accomplishments, getting married and living a happy life in Eunpo. How I wish there's a DDSSLLS two hour special to make us see all these things after what we've been through the last 4 episodes. Anyway, all in all, DDSSLLS was a good drama (until Ep. 12). Jun was right they should have stopped at the beach scene and just got married right then and there (he would have earned a smack from his mother but it would have spared him from suffering a great injustice that were Ep. 15-16). DDSSLLS was my happy pill, despite the pandemic and all the trouble in the world, it gave a small relief and touched my heart greatly so it troubles me that the writer did such disservice to it, to us. Rara and Jun will remain in my memory for a long time, they're such sweet characters that I just want them to be happy, at peace and together forever. All the Eunpo folks as well. I'll never look at Mokpo the same way again. Thank you Janghaven community for sharing the DDSSLLS journey with me. It gave me a lot of happiness to be able to hear your thoughts on this drama and for giving me the space to share mine. I hope to see you all on other threads where hopefully we'll see better writing, execution and directing. Let me quote Jun's DDSSLLS persona as my heartfelt thank you to you all- "I'm sending you the stars, may it shine brightly on your future". Kamsahamnida;)
  24. I just want to say that I love how most of the Episode has Jun and Rara together. Seeing them together all happy and sweet makes me smile all the time, that everything is right in the world. They are just so adorable, it is one of the strong points of this drama- their leads are so freaking cute together Can they make a new drama every year? haha I don't care what genre, I just want them on my screen all the time;) side note, how pretty is Go Ara? this drama is the most beautiful I have seen her in all her dramas. I can't blame Jun for falling all the time with her. Anyway, How cute is their first meeting?! I could watch this scene for hours and would not get tired of it hahaha I love how Jun was instantly smitten by her, and I'm sure Rara too but she is just too clueless! I love the heartfelt reveal of the true DDSSLLS (Jun wonderfully explained how he went from someone who has a crush to someone who truly loves), we've finally seen how he reacted on that balcony of Rara's recital (consistently he's smitten beyond words!) Kudos to Lee Jae-wook for playing this scenes so naturally, believably and palpably, as if witnessing true to life one's moment of love. And Rara, bless her, for being the kind of person that this world needs but rarely seen. She is just so kind, forgiving, and trusting. She never felt anger at Jun for making her go through all those break up moments because she is just Rara, true to herself, she just loves him no matter what. I'm half afraid and half excited for the final episode later. One thing is sure though, I will be sad to say goodbye to this quirky and unpredictable drama despite its flaws it has touched my heart definitely. Who would have thought that I would be rooting this fiercely for a senior high school student and a clueless princess-like pianist? so would it be too much to ask that they have their happily ever after? Pleaseeee
