  1. I do not want to comment anymore on the ending. :niu:

I just want to give a shout out for Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk for doing such wonderful jobs in this drama. I knew that KTR is a brilliant actress but I never knew that she has a flair for comedy! I want to see her in ROMCOMs in the future. NJH has been showing us good acting in his recent projects and I'm happy that he did BYJ with such depth characterization. I am looking forward to more good projects from him.

The Taeyang squad are also actors I will look forward to in the future. Good job everyone! :hearties:

In general 2521 has good actors, good cinematography and has many good moments of heartfelt scenes. However, like many Korean dramas, it has a good start but spins out of control towards the ending. Korean writers really need to work backwards first and build the story from there so everything else can fall into place and make sense. And they should always, ALWAYS remember that their audience are THINKING, FEELING and SMART people.

Thank you everyone for watching this drama with me, see you in other dramas!;) ANNYEONG!

  2.

This drama continues to bring a warm, nostalgic and even melancholic view of youth. I loved episodes 9-10 too like you @gilaswan. I loved that the episodes were balanced by the comedic shenanigans of our young leads:laugh:

BYJ is such a refresing male lead, he confessed his feelings because he wanted to be honest with NHD but he did not pressure her to feel the same way or to start another level of their relationship. He is such an "oppa/hyung" to our high schoolers. He's literally the nanny to our gang during their summer vacation! hahahaha

On a serious note, I find adult NHD's comment sad yet realistic, however, I think the drama is purposely keeping secrets from us; I think adult NHD remembers her summer vacation, who wouldn't when it was so significant and memorable. There are many clues and secrets pertaining to BYJ's life as well.

    1. Why did his father said that BYJ was his great consolation 10 years ago until now?  why 10 years ago? I do not think that this is a mere passing comment. Is BYJ adopted? or a son from his mother's previous marriage?

    2. I noticed that his mother's surname is Kim. Is he a son from a previous marriage? will his father ask that they adopt the surname of their mother because of his debts in the future thus Minchae's surname is Kim?

I also agree with @gilaswan that NJH's eyes are very expressive, he expresses BYJ's longings and sadness really well from his eyes alone. I really pray for a happy life for all our leads especially BYJ. He deserves it, he's such a good person. It's very rare to come across a male lead in kdramaland such as he. Please writernim, make them happy, chebal!!!!:wow2::YesHalCat:

    P.S.

I really anticipate that we jump timelines already when they are 25 and 21. NHD is really entertaining as a young girl but I want to see some maturity in her interactions with BYJ, he's forever waiting for her, it seems. I wish next week's episodes will be those episodes;)

  3. I agree with you @JenL, like in Dodosolsollalasol, there is nothing malicious, ill-intent or disadvantageous from the relationship of the two leads. BYJ has shown us nothing but respect, maturity and genuine affection for NHD. I like how NHD is mature for her age and is very honest with her feelings and views. The leads so far has a natural progression of their relationship, the more they rely on each other and inspire one another, the deeper their relationship will be and will set the stage for a mature relationship once NHD becomes an adult.

@JenLand @bai, in my country too, 18 is the legal age  unlike in SK that is 20.

  4. Here is the translation of the OST by the 2521 gang;) It was lovely and good to hear that they got along so well to release an OST together;)    I have so many theories about the drama but I'm keeping an open mind that it might be a bittersweet ending for NHD and BYJ, however, just want to throw this one question out there-"how can one get over a great love as BYJ?" so please dramagods make the impossible possible!  :BulbaOWO:

  5. Hello! I have a question, when Yijin left it was around summer or early autumn, and it said in the caption that 3 months has passed and we see Heedo training hard and them missing each other and it's early winter because of the snow. Then when Yijin left for Seoul, the caption said that after 5 months, he's already a news reporter trainee. How come the daughter said when Heedo introduced her "bf" that they been apart for 6 months? In my calculation, it's more than that, they were apart for 8-9 months. Was it an error in translation?

    Thank you!

Hello Chingus! I speak and write fluent English since it's the official language here. I learned Spanish and Latin during my university days but can only remember bits and pieces of these languages! hahaha  I did my Masters in Japan so I can speak and write in basic Japanese since it was a requirement before we can do our program. However, our course was entirely in English. I can converse pretty decently with the locals and can read the basic Kanji around me but that's about it! Incidentally, when I was in my first year of studies in Japan, my dorm mates were 2 Chinese and 1 Vietnamese. They taught me the basics of their languages and can say hi, hello, sorry, excuse me in them;)

I'm happy to learn other languages with you all;)

D-7  Drama that made me laugh the most

    spacer.png

I still laugh out loud whenever I would come across Dosan's "winning" speech!

The Samsan Tech boys' dorkiness and warm friendship made me laugh, smile, and cry at the same time;) Such bromance and chemistry are always a welcome diversion in drama land.:hearties:

    She was Pretty

I really think that Choi Si won and Hwang Jung-Eum make a better pairing than Park Seo jun especially in the first part of the drama, PSJ's character was really mean and actually cruel to the female lead. Choi Si won's character suits the FL perfectly. My heart still aches whenever I think about his ending:nervous: the least they could have done was to give him a better arch in the story,

    Extraordinary You

I know I'm quite bipolar! hahaha but the true self of Lee Jae-wook's character was actually a sweet guy who truly cares for the female lead. Well, maybe because I'm biased with LJW:BulbaOWO:

    @CINNABOM

Happy First Year Anniversary of Dodosolsollalasol! :CharmanderYay::heart::love: It has been a year since we've smiled at Rara's cluelessness, fell in love with Jun's charms and Mimi's cuteness, wished we were a part of the Eunpo squad, and witnessed the mundane and extraordinary love story of a kindhearted pianist and a high school student disguised as pro part-timer. We have laughed, cried, got confused and angry (with the ending and with the writer haha), accepted and reconciled with the drama that we all love. Along the way we got little gems through gifs, bts videos, OSTs, promos, etc. but most of all we gained bonds and friendships. Cheers! :hearties:

To celebrate this day I am posting the teaser of the drama:smile:

Park Hae Eun Steps Down From Upcoming Drama By Hong Sisters

    Jul 8, 2021
    by L. Kim

Park Hae Eun will be leaving the cast of an upcoming drama by the Hong Sisters.

Previously, the actress was cast in “Hwan Hon” (romanized title), which means the return of someone’s soul after death.

On July 8, tvN told news outlet Star News, “Park Hye Eun, who was cast in tvN’s new drama ‘Hwan Hon,’ left the drama after discussion with the production crew.”

The actress even finished the script reading for the drama, but she unfortunately decided to leave the cast.

tvN continued, “Despite the fact that she is a rookie actress, we worked hard together, but she felt a lot of pressure to play the lead character of a big project. Therefore, after a lot of discussion with the actress and with respect to a mutual exchange of opinions, it was decided that she would step down from the role.”

Hit screenwriter duo Hong Sisters is known for dramas including “My Girl,” “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and more. “Hwan Hon” will be directed by Park Joon Hwa of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.”

Here is a long video from SBS Now when Lee Je-hoon's Taxi Driver Kim Do Ki became Wang Tao Zhi to get to the bottom of the voice phishing scam. Wang Tao Zhi  is such a fun character and LJH is daebak!:cool::YesHalCat:

  14. Just want to give my piece on this drama. I started it out of curiosity because I always see it on Korean News portals. Revenge dramas is not my cup of tea but Lee Je-hoon is one of my favorites and since I was moved once again by his portrayal in Move to Heaven, I decided to watch it.

It was such a ride! It was like watching a superhero movie! All the actors did very well in this series but kudos to LJH and his Rainbow Crew. I laughed, cried, was terrified, got angry and rooted for all for the victims and our great crew. However as many of you said, the change in writer was indeed noticeable, the second half conflict and even the finale were a bit lackluster. However, I am very happy that they set the ending with a possibility of a second season. LJH's Kim Do Ki was heart wrenching, entertaining, palpable and incredible. I would like to see him do his job for the Rainbow Crew without the trauma of his mother's murder. I think he found his peace in a way when OYC got his ultimate punishment. A second season would be perfect to tackle many other cold cases and issues in Korean society. I sure would love to see the Rainbow Crew exact revenge for the weak and the suffering again. It's nice that KHN is on their side now however unbelievable it is! haha I am still conflicted that a prosecutor is on board with them and with Go Eun as a police officer now. It just blurs the line between true law abiding justice and righteous justice.

This drama reminds me a bit of Strangers/ Forest of Secrets but prosecutor Hwang Si Mok there achieved justice with the law, for the law and by the law. I also liked that there are no love lines in this drama like that of Strangers just genuine respect and true friendship.

Lastly, I would like to just say that I liked LJH way back from his Architecture 101 days but his Move to Heaven and his Taxi Driver made me a fan that would attend his fan meetings from now on;) :BulbaOWO:

Cheers to more good dramas this 2021! :CharmanderYay:

While I was watching Move to Heaven, i kept on being bothered by the timeline on when they filmed it. Since most of the cases were dated way back March 2020, I was thinking perhaps they filmed LJW part even before DDSSLLS? Maybe he filmed Extraordinary You, When the weather is fine and Move to Heaven almost all at the same time?

Hello @twinkler0415 I saw an interview of Lee Je Hoon that filming started with Move to Heaven last May 2020. By that time, When the weather was fine was done already so Lee Jae wook filmed DDSSLLS and his cameo for Move to Heaven at the same time!  No wonder his Move to Heaven character looks like Jun!

  16. My Mom and I watched Move to Heaven today and I was pleasantly surprised when she said "Look! It's Rara's Boyfriend!" hahaha:heart:

We really liked LJW's cameo in Move to Heaven and since he was wearing a school uniform in one part of the drama, made me miss Jun and Rara again! :wow2:

Oh my DDSSLLS couple! And I remember in the drama May, 2021 was the month when Jun stole Rara from her wedding with Dr. Cha! hahaha

  17. I'm done watching the whole series in Netflix and boy was it worth the wait!

I can say that this is one of LJH's finest performance. He was in character in every scene even if it is not focus on him. He gave his character such depth and nuance that you cannot but root for him no matter how shady he seemed at the beginning.

I also really liked the portrayal of TJS, his Han Geu Ru is believable, heartfelt and touching.

This drama made me think about the things that we own and how the ones left behind will deal with them after we are gone. It is really true nothing in this world is without a story to tell.

Anyway, I enjoyed the cameos in this drama, from JJH (HGR's Dad) to LJW's Seungchul. They really are good actors!

I hope for season 2 since we are left with many issues still. These are the kind of dramas that they should be producing and we should be watching. Cheers to more to come!

@JenL thank you for these goodies! seeing them make me miss GAR and LJW on my screen more. I'm glad LJW found a new agency though like you guys I was hoping he joined Artist Company instead! haha

I am anticipating Move to Heaven since the trailer had me teary, and I can see LJW's cameo there. I also plan to check out LJW's new drama when the time comes and hope I will like it because the past years the Hong Sisters' dramas are hit or miss for me.

I just hope we'll hear some casting news about GAR soon.

And I'll never get tired of saying this, when are we going to get our ONE special episode for DDSSLLS?! We need answers, weddings, and babies drama gods!

  19. Hello chingus!

I am glad that this thread is still active despite the inactivity of LJW and GAR these days. Anyway, what a crazy week again for K-ent. world! I found this article in allkpop that mentioned our GAR.

I really hope that no scandals come GAR and LJW and that they both commit to projects soon;)

@JenL, I throughly enjoyed the wishlist! I share some of her wishlist too;)

    MY DDSSLLS WISHLIST

    1. Rara attends Music Grad School while Jun is in college, they can be CC!;)

    2. That they only got separated for ONE episode and they're together all the time till Ep. 16

    3. They get married outside Raraland and Hayoung trips with the bouquet that she's holding for Rara and Jun catches it

    4. Rara volunteers at Jun's hospital, playing piano at the lobby and make everyone happy, Jun's parents proudly tell bystanders -"she's our daughter in-law"

    5. Rara and Jun's newlywed life (bickering all the time, biking around Eunpo and being sweet 200%)

Nooo. I’ve been away from recent k-ent stuff the past few days, and I can’t believe this is happening. It definitely seems weird that vast ent practically deleted all connections with LJW. Wasn’t he supposed to be Hyun Bin’s protégée or something? I feel like a 2 year contract is so short if he was invested in him. I really hope it’s not related to a big scandal. Ji Soo’s was pretty bad and completely shocked me. The timing of him cancelling his next drama and all this seems weird though...:nervous:

I know it's making me anxious too :shocked:Even if his contract ended because they signed him for only two years, it doesn't make sense to let go of someone like LJW. I think LJW is too nice to leave VAST on his own as well just because he got his first lead. Besides, Hyunbin and LJW are the only male artists in VAST, it was an advantage for LJW and VAST seemed to like him a lot as well. I just hope it's not a scandal. He said in his latest IG post that he's happy. Is he getting married and joining the agency of his wife-to-be? (calling GAR!) :wow: is he joining the military? I just hope that VAST clears everything up soonnnnnnn. :wow2:

  21. Hello Guys!

I was very surprised when I saw your post @JenL about LJW. I was also wondering why he is so quiet these days. I've been hearing about castings left and right and he's nowhere in sight. I am also wondering why he left VAST Ent. when it's a great agency. It's very surprising that a newbie changes to another agency so soon. I just feel bad for his staff for it seemed that they really love LJW and now they can't work with him anymore since his staff is provided by the agency. I hope it's nothing serious. The Korean Entertainment has been in a chaos the past months because of bullying scandals. I hope LJW is not part of it.

Anyway, I hope we'll hear drama or movie castings for GAR and LJW soon;)
