Glad they're able to close the case and even took down all the evil videos.

Agree with @Dhakra that I don't think it was a good idea to blow the storage with a timer. Of course this is only drama, but how would they know that the explosion wouldn't kill the good guys (they knew for sure that the police and prosecutors were going to that place).

That's another pile I would like to approach.

First, like the CEO said, this storage is just one of many, every customer who downloaded or watched it still has access to it or will reupload it somewhere. I thought Go Eun would potentially create a virus for the video to self-erase itself. The internet doesn't forget, especially in the Darknet.

They spent all time talking about taking down those videos, finding and destroying the mine, and when they find it. They attach bombs, tie up the CEO very loose nearby and then just walk away. Cutie-beauty begged DK to destroy everything, and they just carelessly drive away hundreds of miles and rely on a button? If there was a malfuntion in any way, no one of them would have noticed, CEO would have still lived and everything would have been way worse than ever before. Either kill him directly (and give Go Eun immediate satisfaction) or attach C4 to him, drive a few miles away and look from a safe distance how everything blows up.

I know, I shouldn't bring logic into a Kdrama and be happy, but it kinda triggered me to see them being so careless and unprofessional after being so clean and ruthless in the first case with Kang Maria. The CEO also escaped with little to no suffering.

Even the Insurance worker lady from the Maria Case was tasered twice and left to die in a barrel, either freezing or starving to death.

I hoped so much they would hit him with the baseball bat aswell.

    16 hours ago, SnowBlob said:

And I wonder whether they also tied him loose because they predicted the CEO would go to the storage and so they could blow him up along with the server. Risky though..coz what happened if he didn't have the energy to get to the storage in time for the explosion? DK's identity would definitely be exposed then.

But why not just attach C4 directly onto him or tie him up in the storage then?

He could also just run away and hide, planning his revenge on DK and bulding a new company.

Haha so true! But the car scenes are so fun to watch and done really well with the bgm!

They are really cool, although I missed the syntheziser this time. All the buttons in his car also remind me of Knight Rider from the 90s.

Hey look, it has @Dhakra's girl... but this doesn't fit his criteria anymore HA-HA.

    NICE :pandalove:

But I read through it after you mentioned it and holy smoky, a prophet-superpower who sees the death of people? And if that wouldn't be already enough, the drama is more than a year old :pandaroar:

    • Haha 4
  3. Episode 8

    • The drama really gives the impression that every road or highway in korea is completely without traffic. They drive and drive and do so many fancy stuff on the highway and not a single car is passing by or crosses them in any direction.
    • I wished he would have just taken the crossbow and shoot the CEO right in his face, kill the others in the room afterwards and continue looking for the server. I mean, you can still search for it after everyone's dead and nobody is going to look in that bunker anyway.
    • Go Eun cares so much for Do-Ki, they really have a special relationship and I wouldn't mind if they started to date towards the end of the drama. So she was at the hospital when he passed out even before Mr.Jang, but got scared again.
    • Baek is really scary, how cold she can become in matter of seconds. When she gave the money to Blue Bird for "compensation", she actually looked caring for a second. But the moment Jang found out about Do Chul she went completely different. I would really not like to have any business with her. She's so scary.
    • Go Eun in tears, crying and screaming "Destroy them all!" really made me tear up. :pandasad: She's so precious.
      Time to kill Do-Ki :pandarage2:
    • How he was crying like a little kid after being hit just once. Honestly, I think they went a little light on him, for what he has done in the past, they should have done way more to him. I mean he did die in the end, but I was hoping for at least giving him more of his own medicine. Hitting him with the baseball bat, giving maybe even Go Eun the chance of getting some revenge on him.
They even tied him to the tree so loose, that he would have been able to escape.
    • I also think that blowing up the data mine was a good idea, but doing it with a timer was a bit odd and dangerous, especially knowing that the police is coming. They could have killed a lot of innocent policemen and Prosecutor Kang with it. Also if Do-Ki is able to trigger the bomb manually with a button in his car, why even use a timer attached to the bombs?
    • So Do Chul was ultimatively able to enter Jang's Domain and stab him, potentially even killing him. For someone doing such large operations and having an underground base, he surely doesn't have much security. I also wonder why he didn't just hide in the base, knowing someone is after his life.
    • It's possible that Jang is dead, so Do-Ki takes over and seems to confront Baek. I wonder if she becomes an enemy now.
    • Also seems like we already get a new case on the next episode, which makes it even more confusing what will happen.
    • Eight episodes in and so far Prosecutor Kangs role still isn't really visible, so far she didn't really contribute anything to the drama except being too late, fail at every attempt to get someone and being in the way. By now my hopes she will join Deluxe Taxi are also zero.
I hope they will give her character more color in the second half of the drama.

  5. Finally able to watch Ep7 today

    Episode 7

    • Go Eun talking abour her sister was so sad and heart-breaking, especially the last meal they had together. Go Eun was so loud and bubbly, full of life and her sister the complete oppostive. She silently said farewell and knew she would end her life.
    • Also, and this may just be a site note, what kind of police or medics would step over and over again on a bag lying on the ground? Not only due to the fact that it's possibly evidence, but also because it's disrespectful. Who steps stuff that is lying on the ground on purpose in a situation like that?
    • Do-Ki putting everything down and heading to Gu Eun was so cute ♥
    • It felt so good when Do-Ki hit this ex-boyfriend punk with the helmet. I felt so happy to see his blood being spilled. I wished he would have hit him a lot, lot more though.
Also felt good to finally hit that continuesly filming assistant with that camera. I doubt he is dead though.
    • There is a permanently delete all data on the screen for every worker without any security or double check-up and it deletes everything from every computer in the company?
I was actually expecting a little more hacking by beauty-cutie and creating distractions to secretly removing it....but a "delete all" button will do too.
    • Well, they have a restoring ability, but still I was a little bit confused.
    • So basically we aren't really closer of catching the bad guys, Do-Ki will save the Prosecutor Kang and potentially will blow his cover to Kang and the CEO. I also wonder how Kang will react to this, since it's also kinda vigilantism.
I doubt we will wrap up this case next episode aswell, we need to find the real servers and take them all down.
    • According to the preview we need to prepare ourselves for Do-Ki getting beaten-up and take a few hits, only to then release the kraken, in the form of himself, and beat everyone to pieces....or even death.
It looks like to at least the CEO will be able to escape.
    • But it also looks like Go Eun will be back in action, find and erase the servers, reporting it to Do-Ki and tell him to destroy them all. Payback time!
    • The epilogue is so sad.

I love KHN's reply to the interviewers. Sadly, that kind of reply was exactly what blocked her way in. I love her attitude. The part when she acknowledged that she is a rude person and left her boss' office while there was another sunbae visiting... awesome! and CEO Jang approves. But I do wonder what is the intention of CEO Jang trying to recruit KHN? even letting her see the profiles of Rainbow team members...

But I think this reply might be a hint what potentially make her join the Rainbow

Team. Because their help is always immediate. She will fight the longterm fights, but they will grant immediate help.

I really don't know otherwise what role she will be playing in this drama. So far her character doesn't have a lot of depth.

Haha maybe we are just twins in what we dislike :lenny: Pacing is so important! I think drag and filler events in plots really let down a lot of good dramas. If the writers had paced the events more evenly, they wouldn't need to have fillers?

Pacing is probably after plot the second most important thing. Filler episodes are the worst. Or forced breakups during the last or second to last episodes.

Oooh. You like this one? This is one drama where I liked the second OTP more and yes, they were cute. But then I've also met people who didn't like the actress.

Hold on young lady! I said I liked the 2nd FL, I ABSOLUTELY did not like the second OTP at all. He was a jerk and she was waaaaaay too good for him. I actually shipped her with the Main Lead. They would have been such a great couple.

But yes, I liked the drama, it had some very funny scene and a nice plot overall. Nothing special, but a nice watch back then.

Actors who bother to make an effort learning musical instruments and making sure what we see on-screen looks real = respect. I barely get girl crush on actresses but I think I crushed a little on Park Eun Bin.

To be honest? Maybe that's just me, but that's what I demand from an actor/actress. Total determination to their role. I mean on one hand the craft of acting needs to be at least above average. If I see clunky conversations or superficial acting, I'm losing interest in seconds.
I mean not anyone can be acting monsters like Lee Bo Young, Ji Chang-wook or Yoo Ji-Tae, but I admit I have expectations.

And that doesn't stop there, if your role has a special skill or in this case, plays an instrument, I expect them to practice it so hard, that they can actually play it at a decent level.

    • Melodrama

    • Crime stuff
    • Law or Judges.
    • Revenge Stories

@abs-oluteMDo you remember Strongest Deliveryman? I noticed it was missing from my list and I remembered the CUTE 2nd lead there. I noticed it was from 2017! Time passes so fast!

The job gets harder = more entertaining and thrill for viewers. I'd still opted for them to successfully erase all the files than keeping it as evidences. I don't think Blue Bird intended to hand these scumbags to Prosecutor Kang anyway. Plus we don't know whether the law will do justice in its punishment. Yes, you can say I don't have much faith in the law in South Korea after learning so many real life cases and people getting away with it or light jail time.

Don't get me wrong. Me too. I am all in for erasing everything, beating them up to pieces and making videos of it aswell. Fire with fire.

I am sure don't want to involve Prosecutor Kang at all, but I am sure at one point she will intervene with something. It also looks like Do-Ki has kind of a soft spot for her, since when he defended the companies CEO in front of her he did feel bad. I don't think he has ANY interest in her, since I still think he is a bit into Go Eun.

The justice is powerless in this case, like Kang already said, she needs to dig up other stuff to get them. This could be the sexual abusive videos, but I do not think Blue Bird would let that happen. On the other hand, she passed the case to Blue Bird and asked for protection, so it will be complicated since she knows that this is happening. She just needs to get evidence.

Watching crime dramas in general, reading articles about idols/ceos/managers on various korean sites really gave me the impression that you can get away with everything in korea.

    1 hour ago, mademoiselle said:

Yeah me neither. Travel and sight-seeing is good enough. I wouldn't want to work in Japan, TW or SK. Now I'm reminded the last time in Tokyo, we witnessed a man publicly having his hand on a woman's bum. It looks to us like she's an employee and he's her boss or something, and there were other male employees there too. A bunch of Western travellers discovered it first & were discussing in disbelief. To be honest it was difficult to tell if she's being molested or she is giving him consent that's why no one actually went and help her (plus there's language barrier). But for me, it was inappropriate (at the train station) and looks a lot like a workplace sexual harassmen

Oh man, that would make me so furious and angry. That's stuff where my protective instinct kicks in. I never travelled to SK myself, but I had a good german friend who went to SK with her best friend and said, when clubbing, they had to constantly check every drink and cover each others back, literally because men would approach them constantly and try to do things. She also said once some people looked at her like she was just a walking, breathing sex toy.

I really would not want to live or work in such an envoirment. I would get in so much trouble with the wrong people.

  17. What I also actually liked this episode was including the bulldozer gadget again for dealing with the first minion. Normally these stuff is only used for one episode, pretty much after the engineer present it to the hero, does something with it once and it's never seen again.

I was happy they included it again.

Dang, no conclusion for the U-Data case this week. This case hits close to home as we get a direct glimpse into the reason why Go Eun is part of the vigilante team. It's also going to be an emotional and heavy topic, where again, women are the sexual victims. This also seems to make a relevant reference to the recent real life Nth Room case. It's sickening what these people do.

And OMG to Cho Do Chul's escape! I'm not too concern about Do Ki because being a 707 former army he's well trained. However, I worry just a little for the others and that he might interfere with their mission

I also wished U-Data was already concluded this week, because I knew waiting for a whole week will be tough, so the longer the episode went I was like: "Oh nooooo, seems like we won't solve the case this week. "

Yeah, it's sexual abuse again against women. I was hoping we don't touch it again soon. I prepare to see a lot of suffering from Go Eun.

For the case,I fear it will go even deeper, when the former uploader mentioned "heavy" oploads, I immediately thought of the dark web, so I fear there will be cases of child abusing, violence and other sick stuff.

So basically the job got even harder. Not only do they need to take down the company, the CEO and the strategic planning Team, they also need to erase every single video/file.

And I fear that this will interfere potentially with Prosecutor Kang, because deleting the videos/files also means erasing evidence to bring them down by the law.

I'm not worried for the rest of the team, because Cho Do Chul only knows or "met" Do-Ki and Mr.Jang. He doesn't know there is a Team behind it, so I think his first target is going to be Mr.Jang.

The question is how Baek will continue in this regard, will she tell Mr.Jang or does she try to find CDC first?

Rainy days will make it even harder to watch it. The drama itself is very depressing. Especially if you're a mother yourself, I wouldn't recommend watching it, unless you're a pro of seperating.

Don't get me wrong, the drama itself is fan-tas-tic, I've never felt so nervous while the drama does so little. The drama is so calm in telling you it's story. No flashing lights, no action, no hard cuts, just story. The drama is crazy challenging from an emotional pov. It asks so many difficult questions. What do you do in a world where suddenly everything around you, family, cops, friends, co-workers, media, literally every single person is suddenly your enemy?

What the heck? I didn't know and just read the story and it's the DEFINITION of trying to be fancy :pandadisgusted:

I actually loved your list of adding dramas to each point. Let's me know which dramas I need to avoid. But know I am really also interested in the opposite way. I will do my list I like in a bit.

    No melodrama

    No slice of life

No romance dramas (except those with Hyun Bin)

No dramas that teach me anything 🤣

Looks like @Chocolateand I are the complete opposite :pandascared:

  19. Episode 6

    • Cutie-beauty being a little jealous and saying Kang was a fox was so cute. I liked the face she made while telling Do-Ki.
And his sweet little present to her, she totally liked it, even if she complained at first of him thinking of her as a child.
    • Mr.Jang was quite impressed by Prosecutors Kangs little "on my own" speech in front of her boss and that other prosecutor. I wonder if he tries to involve her more into his stuff.
    • So Baek is actually involved in organ trafficking? Damn that woman really is dark. I can understand why Do-Ki said he doesn't feel good involving her. She must be a cruel enemy. So we also know what she meant in the karaoke room saying to the young guy paying with his face. This will get really ugly at one point.
    • Do Chul escape will definitely cause a huge problem.
    • I was hoping we end this episode with already having with the first scum, but oh boy were the last 5 minutes hard to endure. So we kinda learned why So Eun joined the team and what happened to her sister.
Seems like her sister An Jung Eun was the victom of a hidden recorded sex video, where she was probably even raped. So she probably commit suicide because of this.
The former "heavy" uploader also mentioned that this was his job, uploading the.....disguisting..... stuff. I can only imagine what deep, disguisting things are uploaded in this cloud.
I really, really hope we get revenge soon in the next episode, but from the trailer it looks like we haven't started yet. There will be issues with Kang it seems.
Six episodes in and we already have the whole width of disguisting things happening. Not even Childen of Nobody was so quick in digging up the stuff that makes you wanna puke.
    • Can we just get revenge, please?

JenL's list of things that will make her avoid a drama (not limited to this though):

-Horror and gore stories (except zombies)

    -Monsters stories

    -Melodrama

    -Makjang tropes

    -Sageuk

-Abusive male 'romance' leads who get the girl

-Super old dramas (Like 90's stuff)

-Dramas with certain actors/actresses: Lee Min Ho, Kim Go Eun etc..

    -Kim Eun Sook scripts

-Anything with terrible pacing will kill me

Well, many points are similiar to mine. I don't know much about scripts and I don't think I tend to avoid any actors/actresses.

I forgot pacing on my list. That's really something that kills me in both directions. When the OTP already kisses in the first two episodes I am already out, same goes if they drag the story endlessly and don't get to the point.

JenL's list of things that will draw her to a drama (not limited to this though):

    -Music themed stories

    -Cooking/food-themed/ restaurant stories

    -Warm small-town/ community stories

-School/ college life stories (not all of them, but it is a pull card)

-Nostalgia stories (ie. set in a time like the 90's, 80's, 50's)

-Super cute romances (This is defined as very cute and playful, not overly mushy/melodramatic)

-Slice of life / anything with an embedded philosophical message or idea

    -Vigilante/ law/ corruption/ gangster stories

    -Bad-ass/ lone wolf characters

    -Zombies

    -Things based on a webtoon

-Dramas with certain actors/actresses: Jasper Liu, Lee Jae Wook, Park Eun Bin etc.

-Anything with good plot twists wins points

I think here do we start to differ quite a bit. So we are actually different. :pandahehe:

I think I will make a similiar list of things that drag me into a drama, but I will wait until the suns sets for this.

Mmm I understand what you mean about starting late and making the night last forever...It's pitch black and past midnight which is why I'm writing my loooong posts here

What version of you would I be? :pandapirate:

I tend to write more and differently when it's night/evening, so I absolutely see where you come from.

@mademoiselle , I know @Dhakra likes the sort of slice of life where it will speak to him from a guys POV. So like WLFairy, I know he loves it as much as he does because of NJH's character. And the other drama which I put neck on the line for was Plus Nine Boys. That was just such a lovely show about growing up and getting your act together. Actually @Dhakra Kim Young Kwang's latest drama Hello Me ( which has finished) was pretty nice too.

Look at you noona :pandacool: Still able to read me like a book.

Exactly, for slice of life, I need a male pov that I can identify with, something I can relate to, which can be very different stuff. PNB was your recommendation masterpiece back then because it hit exactly the spot I was looking for, so many pov's that I was able to resonate with and was able to understand it.

Fairy was similiar, because I knew what NJH was thinking and why he acted the way he did. Especially since I remember back then in the Fairy threads, most of the girls weren't able to get why he or his brother acted in the way they did. So I could provide a pov that they didn't get at first.

I loved Fairy because it showed me something I had already forgotten, a new perspective on love.

To @abs-oluteM's displease though, I think I learned the most from Shi Ho. (Am I allowed to mention the name without us getting into a war?) :pandapirate::KittyGun:

Kim Young Kwang's latest drama Hello Me ( which has finished) was pretty nice too. His arc there was good & it was about him maturing and taking responsibility. I wasn't a big fan of the noona romance he had with the FL from Queen of Mystery ( I found their chemistry lacking) but the romance is not the main focus. Something you can put on your to watch list for a rainy day.

What? The FL from Queen of Mystery? How in Johnny's name is that supposed to work? I can already imagine the lackluster of chemistry between them.

Actually she might be someone I would put on my list of actresses I avoid, not because she was bad, but because her role in both seasons of Queen of Mystery was so "iconic" for me. I will always see her as that kind of ahjumma. Especially since I listen to the OST so often during the week.

I have a big list of videogames for rainy days, so I am totally busy in this regard.

This is true - especially old Kdrama endings. I feel it's improved over the years, but still I'm often surprised at how many writers still fail to write a truly satisfying ending. And the occasional disaster still happens (*cough DDSSSLLS cough*).

Open endings I can accept in certain circumstances, but I think if it's hard enough to end a drama happily, writing a satisfying open ending is a zillion times harder. And I think the genre needs to be a factor - it works with some slice of life dramas which are more realistic...but mysteries with open endings are a waste of everyone's time. Same with romances that are super sweet throughout the series but then crash and burn into an open ending

Old dramas/new dramas, I am always afraid when a drama is heading towards the end, because I always feel like they run out of time to solve every last plot. 'Mother' was the last ending I was actually quite satisfied with, gosh, that drama was so good. Hard to watch, but fantastic.

I really hate open endings, One Spring Night had one, I think The Package also had one, it's so unsatisfying. It feels like there are episodes missing or they weren't able to put it to an end.

    6 minutes ago, mademoiselle said:

We will have to agree to disagree because I wouldn't link those three keywords to One Spring Night too.

Oh for surely-urly I would not say One Spring Night fits all three keywords. It had depth, but it was in no way meaningful or had substance. But what drama would be able to cover all three keywords?

The only drama that comes to my mind spontaneously is.....again.....'Mother'.

It's because I don't know what else you've watched other than Healer and Weightlifting Fairy. Besides, I do think KES drama vs Healer, Healer definitely fits the bill as it explored the history in the 80s - a bunch of journalists trying to expose the government. They failed but their children continued the legacy for them later. The story explores corruption (The Farmers) and justice. The characters were layered and has depth and is colourful and memorable even when they are just supporting actors.

Well, we can change this easily, here is my mydrama-list -> click

It really looks like I didn't watch any drama in 2020. I almost can't believe it.

I remember the story, it was interesting for sure, but other dramas do have that aswell, it's really a good drama, but I wouldn't link these three keywords to Healer.

Mister Fussy Pot. If you take out your "no finished drama" and "no over 1 hour" from your criteria, I'm sure you'll find more slice of life dramas.

    Nnnaaaaaaaaahh :pandaroar:

I am actually quite happy as it is. Having a good one currently, LBY is in the pipeline, I am totally gucci for now :pandacoolsip:
