  1. Ah I had to join the club first, before I can write something. Just for the record though, I'm into girl abs :pandalove:

So that is also the reason why I think I should raise the amount of girls here in the thread by showing a few girls who are amazingly beautiful with glasses.

My go to here, which I also immediately thought of when I read the title is Bae Suzy, she looks so cute in glasses.

Hmm I am not as in tune to BP and Rose in general so I didn't get the feeling. But I hope this isn't the end for her. I feel like her potential hasn't been tapped properly.

I am neither aswell, but based on the lyrics and the song it felt to me like she was saying she's done.

@Dhakra I finally heard Rose's song! It didn't really stick my mind but I am glad she finally has a solo to her name.

It's really not a song that sticks in your head or make you sing along. Whenever it comes up in my playlist though, I appreciate the message of the song and begin to think a little. I am really happy she has a song to her name aswell. It really fits her.

I don't know about you, but for me the song felt a little like a good bye. When I listened to it the first time, I had the feeling the song was about her wanting to end her career and settle down.

Really not my day today........I didn't want to sent it early....come oooon.....wake up Dhakra...

@SnowBlobAbout what team or sport are we talking about? That are such harsh measures that it is kinda funny, because it feels like soccer can do whatever they want these days. This year is also the european championship in soccer and the UEFA already stated that there will be people in the stadiums and it will be held in 12 different cities all over europe.

And all that while our cases are rising.

    Ah, Badminton. I see.

You know I hv so many dramas , and with new ones keep coming up that I actually want all dramas to be like 12 episodes!

:scaredpanda2:Reminds me of my denial of dramas that run for more than an hour. I don't want to watch episodes that are like movies....I don't have so much time on hand each day! I even split movies in half or even thirds to watch them completely.

Weightlifting Fairy is a personal favourite . It was a very nice coming of age story . Had many memorable lines too. I think @Dhakra watches it almost every year!

I do. At least cuts of my favorite scenes if I can't watch it completely. Very common saying aswell, I like it.

A quote I also liked from the drama "The Package"

So are you excited for Rose's comeback? Pre-ordered your album(s)?

Oh....great question. Take a seat. :pandacoolsip:

I didn't pre order or buy anything, since albums like that, especially with how the extra stuff is added, are only meant to be bought in multiples to maximize profit for the company. It's not meant for fans, it's meant for the company to squeeze everything whats left out of the fans. I don't support that, the physical album itself isn't very pretty aswell in my opinion, so it occured pretty fast to me to not order anything.

The song/comeback itself, I actually wasn't excited, since after previous solo songs from BP I absolutely expected nothing.

But after listening to it, I really, really love it. Her voice is beautiful, the lyrics are beautiful and well written:

'It’s funny when you want it
    Suddenly you have it
You find out that your gold’s just plastic'

It does kinda sounds like a Taylor Swift song at times, but overall it's a comeback that fits her. I added it to my playlist.

That's definitely the pros of working from home - being away from noise and politics. And then the extra time gained from not having to travel to and fro workplace.

Politics? Glad I don't have to deal with that aswell. I rarely talk to colleagues or my supervisors these days and when there is contact, it's mostly just via mails. I just work on my own and avoid any contact.

And yeah, totally a benefit aswell, but also a bit struggling. I remember when I started everything was crispy clean around me, now everything next to my workspace is messy and full of snacks and stuff. During meetings I'm happy people don't know whats right and left next to me

Same...just not looking forward to work or work colleagues. There had been some work politics for the past 2 weeks, mentally tired just listening to or be around the environment.

Kinda happy my only coworker is Johnny these days, by now I totally embraced home office. The only time I see colleagues are during video meetings, which don't happen too often.

But yeah, bad work colleagues are the worst thing that can happen at work.

@Dhakra Do You Like Brahms is not a rom com. No comedy. . It’s a romance melodrama- yes with some slice of life . Should be suited to your tasted. A meaningful drama

Sounds actually quite interesting, but I am still in my drama Slumber I guess. I figured today that I did watch a drama last year, which was Lee Bo Young's drama "When my Love Blooms". One Spring Night aired 2019. Time really flies these days.

I guess I need to wait until Lee Bo Young airs her new drama or a plot actually gets my interest again. I think I am in need for a good slice of life one.

@Dhakra I am surprised you didn’t watch Do You Like Brahms. It’s about these classical musicians & their growth both in terms of their careers & romance. I believe you’re familiar with the FL

The more important question is if she likes Messi aswell :pandahappy: The MV does look actually quite interesting, but sixteen episodes? Urgh...and RomCom? :pandascared: Is at least Slice of Life-ish? Sigh, the song hasn't really caught me yet, expected a lil more piano, but classical music does sound interesting. Mhm.

Yes, the FL played the Lead in Judge vs Judge, which wasn't very special though. Wait....I remember in Judge vs Judge there was a second lead playing a lawyer which was actually quite hot.....let me seeee~

Na Hae-Ryung...that was her name, not my favorite SLS, but still in my memory.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And for the song recommendation this time: Manhole!

The drama itself is...oh boy.....:pandarage::scaredpanda2: the first half was actually good, but the second half of the drama is probably the worst I have ever seen. ALIENS! A-L-I-E-N-S! It's probably on the bottom of my drama all time-fav, not because it's the worst, but simply it fell down so hard. Some dramas begin at the bottom and stay there, but Manhole starting quite high, but crushed down so, so bad.

There is drama I really dislike, but Manhole managed to even outdo that one.

BUT...the OST or this particular song is quite good though. It's still in my playlist and I like to listen to it.

@Thong Thin SLS = second lead syndrome

@Dhakra gets a lot of the that with all the 2nd female leads that he likes . Usually they are very challenging characters, but he likes pain :pandacool:

"Challenging"? How dare you! :pandarage2: You mean challenging as in loving, caring and actually have a multi-dimensional character that has depth? Like who wants these first leads with their bubbly, one dimensional character anyway :pandadisgusted:

Second Leads! I tell you, go through my history and you'll see they all would be amazing partners! :pandaevil:

@Dhakra yes yes...you and your SLS. I rarely get any but there were a couple of times when my oppa played the losing party that I was quite upset. I personally don't mind watching dramas weekly as well. One of the things I enjoy is to be able to savour the episode and talk about it with others. Watching it weekly while it is airing makes it fun . Also since I am always watching so many dramas at any one time, I don't actually mind having to wait

You watch so many dramas at one time, you actually binge-watch every day on a weekly base.I can imagine you never stop watching anything :pandahehe:

Is it my fault that most SLS girls are actually most of the time the better deal?

After Jewel in the Palace, I guess Full House was the only kdrama that I watched and I stopped. It's not until I got into kpop around 2008 and I started watching BOF, that I started another journey to kdrama watching again until now. At first, I only watched dramas that have finished airing. It's not easy to find the drama with sub at the time and I was too curious to wait for the whole week for new episodes. As I started to learn about the language little by little and the curiosity won against my patience, I started to watch drama when it's still airing. DoTS was the first drama that started my journey in live streaming the drama when it aired simultaneously in SK.

That's quite interesting since I religiously try to seperate my Kpop and KDrama behaviors. But the struggle to find subs was something I had at the beginning aswell, especially for crime dramas that weren't popular or lesser known. In Europe it's actually even harder to find reliable english sources.

I've read about the drama and the reviews however have not watched it. I love the music though! Thank you for sharing this!

I watched Love Affairs in the Afternoon (2019) and usually I will not watch affair-heavy secrets kind of drama for a while to rest my mind that tend to debate a lot on the matter.

Actually it got recommended to me by @abs-oluteM back then and I needed more than one approach to watch it aswell. It is really heavy and asks some very interesting questions. So you always think about it. Even weeks after watching it you keep thinking back, also because of the music. But the music is really well included in the drama. Within the drama they actually play another  classical piano song quite often, which also sets the tone of the atmosphere.

It's the beginning of Schubert's Fantasie, which is played by the main actors quite often.

As for my recommendation today, it's from the Drama "Mad Dog". I remember after listening to it for the first time I was so excited for the day the OST gets released. Very, very beautiful song by Eric Nam. I love these kind of songs

Haha, I think I talk about this one a lot...The 1st shop of Coffee Prince was my first Kdrama. I may possibly have watched a Taiwanese drama before Kdramas, but this was the first one I remember and the first drawcard. Gong Yoo was my very first oppa :BulbaOWO: I loved it for the OST which was very indie, the girl-dresses-as-boy-and-gets-mistaken storyline and the tortured love based on misunderstanding. Poor Gong Yoo's character is so confused!

Hahaha, this has happened to me before I'm sure. You think you'll never like x actor....then all of a sudden you love them forever. :lenny:

This is interesting! Usually a lot of people I meet like to wait till a series has finished to binge....then they like to watch several episodes together. Maybe it's a patience thing? Haha, you're the first person I've heard of who likes a schedule! But then again most people think it's weird I like having 1 episode per week as opposed to 2 episodes!

I like both live watch and completed-series watching, but will swap at times. Live watching Kdramas is more fun in my opinion because everyone else is watching, so you can discus things and figure out things with other fans and all the behind the scenes content - additional videos and pictures from the stations/ actors - make more sense and builds up excitement for the show. And I guess even though most dramas are filmed earlier, because they are often still filming when it airs, it feels oddly real time which is fun. But it is energy intensive to live watch and I find myself much more addicted to the dramas. If I want a drama break, but still want to watch them, I take a live-watch break, which means I pick up an old series and watch it in any time I want (could binge, but mostly watch 1 episode a day/ a week). I'm less likely to watch behind the scenes content etc for things passed since I feel FOMO as it happened years ago etc. Oh well, you can't have it all :idk:

Coffee Prince :scaredpanda2: My 2nd Nemesis. :pandapirate:

Gong Yoo was really good though, I loved the characters, but the story line got so dragged. Wasn't Coffee Prince the drama with that absurdly beautiful second lead who made, in my opinion, rather odd decisions? Lemme check....

YES! Chae Jung-An. Oh boy, I had a crush on her.

And yeah, you might see a trend by now. I remember dramas by (beautiful) second leads. SLS all the way.

Talking about it @abs-oluteMAny way I can change my title to something more towards Second Lead-worthy? I haven't found it yet.

Second Leads are close to always (!) the better choice.

I don't think it patience, I think I just feel more comfy with just spending 2 hours per week to watch to dramas. I like to plan stuff and stick to my schedule, so too many stuff to watch kinda overwhelm me.

Typical german behavior I guess, everything needs to be in order.

That's also a big plus. Weekly watching has the benefit of being able to watch and talk with others. Binge watching mostly takes place after everyone else has finished the drama and you need to hand select the people to talk about it with.

    13 hours ago, SilverMoonTea said:

@JenL@DhakraBinge watching is better for me. As I felt the story will feel more connected. The problem is because I have short term memory, if need to wait 1 week I will forget last week story. I think @SnowBlobwill agree with m

Also sometimes while waiting for next week episode out, I can just decided I have enough of the drama and don't want to watch anymore :poliWeird:

I am the exact opposite, I need the week to fully understand and remember the story, think about it. I always feel like when binging stuff that I mix things up or don't spent enough attention to whats happening. I think I can keep up better when I watch something step by step.

    17 hours ago, MayanEcho said:

I don't remember the title anymore, but it was about two students who had a one night stand that resulted to a child. After a few years, the guy, now a pilot, met her again when he answered a plea for blood/marrow donor since he was a match. He then learns that he fathered a little girl, and wanted to do the right thing - marry the mother and claim the daughter as his own. The twist is that the grandmother of his child refuses to let her daughter marry him, cos "he's just a pilot".

Why it's memorable? Snooty grandma was calmly saying to find another donor for the toddler; Never mind if the little girl dies, just don't have anything to do with the father.

That drama really does sound kinda confusing. I don't know if I would have sticked with KDramas after I had watched something like that. Kinda like 'Manhole', I love and hate it at the same time. If this would have been my first drama, I definitely would have stepped away afterwards.

That's so strange. Isn't it so much better to binge? You don't mind waiting that 5 days for the next episode?

I don't care about the 5 days, yes. I actually like it, gives you room to breath, something to look forward to each week and doesn't give me the feeling to continue watching. When I can binge watch something I am really bad at limiting myself.

I think most people prefer to binge watch, but I actually don't like it. It's different though if I already watched a drama.

Binge Watching Healer for example was much more comfy.

Cheese with flair fits it perfectly. It had highs and lows. My favorite still was Kim Ji-Won throughout the drama. When Coconut (kokodus) asked me to watch it with her, I really enjoyed her role and had a crush.

Technically, the first k-drama I watched was "Secret Boutique" by Kim Sun-A in 2019. A friend was watching so I just tagged along. It was about a woman plotting to take back her family status/identity after it was stolen when her parents were killed. The story kept me following weekly but didn't make me want to watch k-dramas.

In Mar 2020, I watched "Crash Landing On You". I enjoyed it immensely. It opened my mind to k-dramas. Previously when friends talked about it, I thought they were crazy because all I saw were these pictures of young boys who all look alike 😆. CLOY made me start searching for k-dramas to watch. Of course Netflix's algorithms automatically prompted all the Hyun Bin dramas - so I clicked on "Memories of the Alhambra". Then I was a goner. And here I am.

Surprisingly, since Mar 2020, I have completed 20+ k-dramas and dumped another 20. That's too much TV in a year 😭 But I must say that some of the k-productions are really very good, especially when compared to HK which has been declining. The plots are entirely different so it has been interesting.

That's very interesting. So you started with a crime-like thriller drama and it didn't catch you? I remember Memories of the Alhambra, I think I actually wanted to watch it because of Lee Si Won, but actually never did.

My curse that I really don't like to watch dramas after they aired. When I see a finished drama with 16-20 episodes to watch, I immediately lose interest. I need to have this weekly 2 episodes routine.

Oh, no worries. During my Drama High Tide in 2018/2019 I think I had similar numbers, with the exception that I dumped drama left, right and center. @abs-oluteMeven made jokes about it all the time, since I have a reputation of dumping dramas for the silliest things after one episode.

  18. After touching it in the OST thread, a question occured to me after realizing Fairy was my first drama that started m K-Drama Habits.

Which Kdrama was the first you watched and how did you like it? Any special memories?

In my case I remember that I watched Fairy during various appointments at the dentist, so during this time I didn't calculate in weeks, I calculated in how many episodes will be aired between two appointments. My weeks started/ended at Wednesdays.
