That one blow on the head could've killed him though, if not for a teenager's strength. Now this is another sad thing I see from the boy  Violence, on the head. He really wanted to swing that golf club towards JH's head. I am very much saddened by this boy.

Yeah, a brrck to the head is even with little power very deadly. Considering that he was taken by surprise and knocked out immediately it should be severe damage and much more blood. It is surely magical christmas dramaland that JH was seemingly unharmed and could do all the things he did.

I honestly expected him much sooner to hit JH with the golf club. With the hatred he had against him, I thought that especially after the confession he bluffed, he would attack him.

Yes, she did... I guess she was shocked and still wanting to vent her frustrations? She will want to kiss him for sure, considering she kissed him first the other day.

:laugh:Yeah, she was totally surprised. I think she thought "What the...here.....now.....while I'm crying? In the basement of a foreign home of a guy who almost killed you?....Seriously?
But then she remembered, that she loves him too and waited for this all the time and just went with it and enjoyed it.

  2. Episode 7

    • Kim Seul Gi as cop. Seeing her in front of a computer rejoices so many nice memories. I really like her role as Se Yeon.
      Spoiler

      Dhakra GIF

      giphy.gif

She was so hilarous in school. How she even put the teacher in his place and scolded Yu RI and JH.

    •  I love Se Yeons annoyed face when JH turned into prosecutor mode. She was like "Ugh, right, he is one of those, I almost forgot"
    • So they do it the "fair" way. Well, was kinda clear that this is going to happen, but for a small moment I thought they do it it dirty.
    • Se Yeon pure MVP :pandalove: How does she always end up being my favorite in any KDrama. I am so happy to see her back on screen.
    • "Why are you crying?" is candidate for the stupidest question that was asked in this drama
    • JH looks pretty good overall for someone who got hit by a brick on the head by surprise. He must have one very sturdy head.
    • Also, did he realize that he was tied to a wooden chair and his feet were free? He could have broken the chair or at least tried to stand up. It also doesn't seem he was tied very tight.
    • Yu Ri biting him and crashing the car into the garage was so crazy. She really is pure relationship goal.
    • It almost looked like Yu Ri fought against the kiss at first and then gave in and enjoyed it. But at the start it felt like she tried to push JH away. Not the most beautiful first kiss, but hey, I take it.

Preview looks a bit concerning. Seems like they will already have their first fight and Yu Ri finding out about JH, his father and that they made a deal about her father, which will make her suffocate. I can already imagine tomorrows episode will end with a huge cliffhanger. I just hope they resolve it soon. I want more of worried and loving OTP.

Is he really beyond help? Cannot be reformed anymore? What made him that way, I really want to know. One factor of course is the parenting, but does he really have not an ounce of conscience/kindness left in his heart?

I guess he was spoiled all his life and could do whatever he wanted without ever even thinking about consequences. The behavior of his mother was pretty clear how he was treated. His parents never showed him conscience or kindness, just power, threatening und abusing the weak. He only did what he has seen all his life, using power to get what you want.

I think it was right to let him feel the same emotions that he put on others. For the first time he was a victim, being threatened and feared for his life. It's a start.

    • The dinner scene where he finally asked her to wait is all I needed for this episode, so beautiful, watched it so many times. Really beautiful scene.
    • The end case seems a bit shaky, no way they will ever going to get through with this. Everything is on such fragile ground. This could backfire a lot,

  4. Episode 5

    • For some reason I already thought JH kissed Yoo Ri back in front of the police station.
    • The scene in the doctors office was so funny. JH was so right, YR really is nuts  But the good kind of nuts.
    • Jung Ho is such an idiot. :pandarage2: I can't endure this for another week. You really need a strong mind and some kind of dumbness to reject a girl like that :pandajustright:
    • YR sliding her head in to watch JH write down the report was so cute. :pandablush: She is the cutest kitty ever. Such a nice smile :pandablush:
    • So funny how JH is so nervous(?) and drinks Yoo Ri's ice tea just like that without her even noticing. He just took it while she was argueing with the offender.
    • It really is about time to stop beating around the bush for JH, he won't escape it anyhow. Especially since he pretty much put himself and Yoo Ri on the spot now for Dohan. If he waits too long to confess his feelings, this might blow over and he never gets the chance.
    • But I liked the last two scenes a lot. Although it may have been not the greatest idea to show up in person and directly threaten him, it showed how determined and in love JH is.
When he said he doesn't care anymore if people like him are directly sent into prison, his whole voice and body told me he meant, he will directly sent him to hell if need be.
    • The last scene was so interesting and beautiful, I thought about it a lot after the drama. It took me three times to realize JH was actually crying in Yoo Ri's arms, I wonder if she noticed it. He also, unknowingly, used the words the doctor told Yoo Ri. He asked her if he may hold her for a few seconds, he seeked her yes. He valued her so much in this scene, I hope this is the final spark that finally gets this going.

  5. Episode 4

    • How can they dare to kill an innocent dog? A small, cute dog! :pandasad: Killing animals is the freaking worst. Now I want that company to go down burning in flames.
    • Brother and Sister. Ouchie.
    • I really love their chemistry, every single banter is so hilarious. Glad Yu Ri always fights back and catches him off guard. He had to admit that he doesn't want her to be alone. Sigh, I really wish they get back together soon. This will be such a fun couple.
    • JH teasing face is so hilarious.
    • Such an emotional, sad case. I am lost for words, I was so glued to the screen, amazing episode, but very sad case. When the foster parents entered the police station and ran towards Ji A, I teared up. Such an emotional episode, although it began so light.
    • FIRST KISS! OH YEAAAH! :pandasipsip: Let't get this started!

  6. Episode 3

    • Yu Ri is such a messy  The apartment looks like a battlefield. She even let all of her food spoil.
    • But the face she made when she said she way hungry was so, so cute :pandablush:
    • So Jung Ho already admitted he is still in love with Yu Ri. She seemingly also has clear feelings for him. Her heart already begins to beat very fast when he touched her forehead.
Cheesy? Yep, totally. But hopefully we see them getting back together early.
    • Can't wait until they become a team and work together on cases. This short session of YR asking him for his opinion was already pure gold.
    • As a lover of KBands, the scene where they played a band song was absolutely amazing. I hope they release this song in an upcoming OST. Absolutely perfect.
    • Doctor clearly has a little too much fun as guitarist  He totally embraced that role.
    • Yu Ri being a Groupie dancing behind Jung Ho was so hilarious aswell.
    • JH harsh words at the end were so heart-breaking. I loved Yu Ri's honesty towards him, although she didn't ask him out to be with him, she at least asked him to be her legal partner. But he was really harsh to her. :pandasad: We know he doesn't feel like this, but it was still hard to see him being to hurtful to her.
    • End scene was still cute, glad he came back for her and saved her.

  7. Episode 2

    • Soo Ri is so amazing :pandablush: It takes so much courage to walk towards your seemingly biggest rival and ask for help if you don't understand something. It was nice and sassy how she treated the dumb guys who made fun of her. But to go back and ask the one who surpassed you, is such a nice character trait. So clear why Kang Ho fell for her.
The perfect example of how to swallow your pride.
    • There is nothing more wholesome than friendships between guys who have each others back when it comes to having a crush on a girl.
    • The law wars between KH and SR are so hilarious  Their banter is on such another level.
    • Worried Soo RI is so :pandablush::love: KH should totally have accepted her help from the beginning. Especially if you love someone.
    • Just a great episode overall again. Can't wait for episode 3. I want them to get back together so much. Such a beautiful love story so far. I love the elements where they talk directly to us at the camera and explain their thoughts and behavior. Such a nice touch.

  8. Episode 1

    • I already love Kim Yuri, finally a drama starting with a normal, non corrupt lawyer that isn't arrogant or so confident and sassy, that it's kinda uncomfortable. She just seems to be a nice, good lawyer, who knows she's good.
    • Lee Se Young looks absolutely stunning as always :pandablush: Totally also here for the eye candy.
    • Kim Seul GI!!! :pandawhat: What a nice surprise. First role of her I see in years, and then she surprises me as a bride. She has so many great roles, but didn't seem very active recently. Glad to see her in exactly the one drama I watch this year.
    • I love the vibe the drama has so far. The chemistry between the OTP is already present. I hope they find to each other again.
This could be really nice love story wrapped in an interesting drama.
    • Kim Seil GI, I mean Seyeon eating chips casually on the sofa is the sexiest thing I have seen
    • Absolutely loved every single second of the first episode. Totally hope they get back together and work cases together at the law cafe. They both seem to be made for each other. They are good people. Cant wait to watch the second episode tomorrow.

Actually nothing right now, but I will watch "Law Cafe" when it airs next month. It looks like a drama that suits me.

I was also thinking about "Good Job", but I don't know, I always struggle with superhuman or any kind of special powers.

  13. @ChocolateHaha, you know, I just thought a few minutes ago, after I edited the post to post my thought about your cut, I thought,  if you would just cut GC's role and this loveline nonsense from the drama. You actually might have an interesting drama.

The plot of the drama has a really interesting flow, but this dumb logic sometimes, based on the loveline and weird decision-making, which they only make to force a romance, which would never happen like this outside of KDrama Christmasland. It feels feel like a toxic stream to corrupt the otherwise fine flowing dramaplot.

You really don't need to put it all the work to make this drama bearable for me  But I appreciate your work chingu :pandalove:

    Hahahahahaha  That's so funny.

Still, way too much of GC simping. The whole plot between the two just makes no sense at all. The romance plot feels so unnecessary and odd, like an abscess that needs to be surgically removed,

Thank you so much for the effort. :pandalove:

This romance line is also starting to turn me off.

Yeah choco. Join the dark side.  :pandagrim:

Edit: So I watched Chocolate's Director's Cut of Episode 5, No Romance Version, and GC found the USB,  which he knows belongs to SJ, because it clearly was the target of the burglary and the first thing he does is to show it around? To the students of THE professor who belongs the USB to? Knowing that there might be sensitive, important things on the USB, so delicate that someone was willing to kill his professor for it?

And why just not give it back to her immediately, when he trusts her so much?

Gosh their call. :pandablind:Dude....this is drama tropes 101 again. Shining knight almost crys and says "DON'T GO, IT MIGHT BE DANGEROUS".

And why the hell doesn't SJ tell her long-time secretary a secret, who was always loyal to her and knows her since years? Why does she tell it her new, totally overly obsesses student, who seemingly knows no boundaries. In every real life scenario, a grown up woman like SJ would ask him to back up and get his act in order.

Gosh, I really am so done watching this drama :lmao2:

Yeah. SJ knows what she wants and if you don't deliver to her satisfaction, she roasts you and your performance on the spot and walks away gracefully.

We also have some solid proof. just remember how she made her ex-bf beg on his knees in the car, like a puppy. He was so tiny, although he seems to be a top politician. I am sure this had a bigger purpose though, it wouldn't surprise me if the CCTV will be used later.

But I won't see it cause.....

  16. So, I have to try and stay calm and not go all :pandarage2:again. I had such bad mood after watching ep3+4, glad it was already late and I went to bed shortly after.

    13 hours ago, UnniSara said:

Well said @Dhakra The romance is way too early and feels forced. It just made me lost interest in this drama. This drama doesn’t need any romance at all but a bad ass Lawyer who isn’t corrupt but in people’s eye she is morally corrupt.

Exactly. The case with it's twist and turns, having her students forming her new "Team" and being backup was enough to carry the episodes easily. But the "romance" scenes completetly blew me off.

I don't mind a beautiful romance plot at the side, if it evolves naturally over the course of the drama, blooming around the second half of the drama. But not with her student, at least not while she is in active professor who tries to recover her reputation. She barely even knows her student.

    11 hours ago, Chocolate said:

Nooooo @Dhakra @UnniSara don't drop the drama just because of the romance. Agree it is badly done and the show really doesn't need it. Plus the professor+student thing is really a no-go. Just close your eyes and pretend it's not there 😂

    Yeah, that won't be possible.

    11 hours ago, Chocolate said:

I do have a thought on why she seems so soft with GC - powerful women are often times submissive in the bedroom 🤣

    HAHAHAHAHA  CHOCOOO NOOO! :pandaevil:

I doubt JS would be submissive in the bedroom, she probably would declare you the right to remain silent :lmao2:

    6 hours ago, Chocolate said:

My first reaction was also hmmmm... if it was me, I wouldn't be entering the door. I would call for reinforcements first.

But was she trying to protect that USB? That's why she had no time to wait? Did she lose it - the preview seems to show someone else has it now.

Calling GC might seem illogical but on second thoughts, I might also call a close friend, who would immediately understand what was going on and rush to help me. The way she said it out loud after she entered seemed to be trying to scare the intruder off too. It's also a good point that she may not want to involve the police. But why GC? Because she really doesn't have many friends - it's either GC or her lady doctor friend.

It just feel like the writer has a blueprint of usual KDrama romance tropes, how they work and then tries to accommodates everything to make it seem logical for her to fall in love with him.

She could have called the cops, and if she doesn't want to include them, her assistant, her neighbors, the CEO who probably also knows how significant the USB is. I mean, SJ doesn't even know where GC lives, where he is right now and sorry, but telling him a random address and he immediately knowing where it is is pure KDrama Candy Christmas Land.

If someone tells me an address I take 10min alone to find the exact address on Google Maps.

But which professor calls her student if she is in danger? This is just pure blueprint behavior. Oh, shinking young knight saves his Noona, now she falls in love with him.

Also, SJ is so diligent and careful in everything she does, she rise to power because she was always one step ahead of everyone. So it would be so weird for her to carelessly let her most valueable asset, the USB device, in her apartment without security measures. It's either a Fake USB or drama for drama sake.

  17. Gosh, I was so annoyed at 'Why Her?' yesterday, I went to bed with such a bad mood. I let my frustration go all out on the thread. The case was so interesting, the female lead is such a strong independant, interesting character aswell, but the lovestory, the tropes of weak-girl-needs-help and story-telling annoyed me so, so much. And such a random kiss, I decided to drop it for good.

So tonight my search will start to find a new drama that is currently running.

  18. Episode 4

    • The case could be so interesting, but that random kiss annoys me so much.
    • The scene at the bar where GC talks about SJ, it feels so staged. It started with the umbrella, the glass shards, that were treated like she was standing in burning lava, now they suddenly are in the same bar, which coicidence, and she hears him talk about her across the room. It feels so staged that she has to fall in love with him, it feels so unnatural. I would love if their love-line would feel more natural grown, so far it feels so staged and forced to me.
I mean, why would he say all these things, all these random compliments about SJ to a random auntie at a bar? Purely because SJ is listening in.
    • I mean, they establish her as strong, independant, sometimes even mean person, who is able to stand up for herself, who doesn't need the help of anyone. But still they give her a "oh-no weak girl in rain doesn't know what to do"-scene, or make her look like she is about to die just because of a few shards drop in front of her. They still make him the shining-knight, although she clearly is not in need of it.
    • The case was so nicely handles and interested, SJ is such a good lawyer, but it feels like I watch two different dramas with SJ having a split personality. These "Romance" scenes are so frustrating for me. Mentioning the 7-billion-guy is so strange aswell.
    • And now she gets burgled, calling of course GC, her student knight in shining armor, who runs like a cheetah to save his fair maiden, protecting her against the baddies, because she is AGAIN, a girl in need. Holy shit, 4 episodes in and it's the usual drama trope.
The romance is such bad, bad story telling.
    • Sorry, I really don't wanna drag the mood down, but it really annoys me. We have this strong female lead, a very interesting case with a lot of turns, but then we have this stuff too.
    •  I don't know if I will be watching episode 5 and beyond.

  19. Episode 3

    • I have to admit, the way SJ handled the situation with the victim's sister was quite impressive. I was actually impressed how she stayed calm and confronted her. She really knows how to play her cards and manipulate others. She is just very confident in anything she does.
She kinda spoke the truth aswell, in a just very mean, harsh way.
    • I really love Mi Rim, she has a good heart and seems like an overall very nice person. She is a good lawyer.
    • The part on the rooftop was very interesting.
    • Making her own case a lesson in her classroom is so smart and interesting. Such an interesting scene, I love her style of teaching. Giving it such a "personal" touch is the cherry on top. But the way she interacts with the students, asking questions, including the whole class, she is a born teacher. Pretty sure they learn a lot.
    • GC pushing it up a notch. Well, well.
    • And we have our first K-Drama Trope. OH NO...it rains..and like always, no korean girl owns an umbrella, thank god her shining knight shows up in slow motion, having an umbrella. :pandasadspoon::laugh:
Gosh.....:psweatduck: even with a ballad......so romantic  :pandapopcorn:Strong SJ needs to be saved from rain. Who would have guessed. Well, of that doesn't make her fall in love......
    • SJ has such a cute smile :pandalove:
    • That were some pretty hard slaps. Reminded me of the slaps during "John Wick", where a father also slapped his son for doing something stupid.
    • SJ playing her cards again, this time against Choi. Nice.
    • Even SJ's evil smile is beautiful :pandalove:
    • The best way to impress SJ, roast her co-workers she doesn't like aswell. :lenny:
    • Totally falling for the OST again. Nice scene in her office.....ok wait what?
    • That's the most random, weirdest kiss I have ever seen in a drama, which is totally out of place. :pandadisgusted: What the hell? Because of glass shards?
How he puts her on the desk, grabbing her by the hips and placing her on top of it. Like he is handling a helpless kid, like she is nine. Oh come on writers, don't ruin this drama for me. That's so totally against her character.....oh come on.....
    • You also don't have to forget, he is her student, she is his professor. Imagine it would get revealed that a fresh-new professor kissed one of her students.
That kind of carless thing happening to SJ? Who is so intelligent and diligent about every word, every move, every single thing?
    • Well, guess I will watch ep4, if they don't explain it reasonably, I am gonna drop this drama right away.

It was. But it was also true. The girl already suffered sexual assault before and she didn't learn. She needs to be more aware and not put herself in positions of danger. Otherwise it makes it very difficult for people to believe her in future.

Of course it was, it would have still been a nice thing to comfort her at least a little bit. I'm aware that this behavior isn't (currently) in SJ repertoire though.

    10 hours ago, Chocolate said:

That's true. With all the metoo stuff, I guess it also makes it really hard for a guy to be too proactive. So this was really surprising.

From a girl's perspective, I can tell you, if she didn't pull her hand away immediately, there's no slap coming hahaha. If I didn't like a guy, there's no way I would allow him to touch me. It would be like ewwwww... So she has good feelings about him as a person, not romantic yet but possible.

I understand. But as you know I provide a guys perspective and I wished he would have a little more foresight. He 'approaches' a girl in an elevator, that moments ago admitted and revealed she was sexually harrassed by a co-worker. And the first thing he does is randomly grab her hand on the way out, even if he is just a student,  he is also a stranger.

And come on choco, how many slow motion, freeze images have we seen in Kdramas to drag out a single moment that then ends in a slap. After all, this is KDramaland we talking about. I trust NO ONE anymore in Kdramas.

    10 hours ago, Chocolate said:

I don't see how she can be framed. The girl dropped onto the signboard when Soo Jae was walking out of the building. So she definitely did not push her down. The most they can pin on her is playing with her mentally.

    Looking forward to tomorrow!

Not physically, but verbally I guess. I think they will frame her, because SJ was the last person who talked to the girl, who could have had the opportunity to change whatever mindset the girl was having. Since SJ was kinda cold to her before, maybe she even said more mean stuff and worsened the situation. We will see I guess.

What I did not understand was, after the incident, SJ went home and couldn't sleep. We heard her talking to herself about how there was no camera footage and how did she manage to get up there. But now we know based on the preview she saw her herself and talked to her. So I am a bit confused.

  21. Episode 2

The music at the start (around the 1:00 minute mark) sounds EXACTLY like the start of Forest Gumps "Feather theme". I was surprised when it started.

Overall a very interesting episode with JS being still her career driven self, it was clearly she wouldn't help Professor Seo, who sexually harassed her aswell. She continues to pull powermove after powermove, which works for now, but it feels like she fights every battle on her own. And this will might bite her in the end. I imagine she opens and softens up in the long run, with her students teaming up.

But as of now, she kinda also fights a battle against her own students. Her advice to the female student who got arrested was cold.

I also don't know up to this point how she will be in a relationship, so far we barely saw a different side of her. Only in flashbacks.

Have to admit, the elevator scene was kinda weird though. I mean, they just came back from a sexual harrasment case, and all GC has to do is randomly grab his professors hand in the elevator, confessing that he likes her. She obviously was confused, but it wouldn't have surprised me if she slapped him again.

Good second episode, looking forward what's coming next.
