Not really, cos Wen Yi Fan returned to Nanwu when Sang Zhi was about to take her college entrance exams. DJX didn't really meet WYF until much later, when he too moved to Nanwu. As dorm mates though, he knew or at least have an idea on why SY goes to Yihe, since in the novel/manhua, he tells SZ that perhaps her brother was looking for a girlfriend during one of their tutorials.
Gosh, there are more sweet things about SY in the novel. He's not only devoted, he's way, way, more sentimental than SZ when it comes to keepsakes.

3. Old mobile phones that had text messages from WYF.

Yep, everything for Sang Zhi! And to reassure the Sang parents since that was one of their concerns when they initially objected to the relationship. Nanwu is more of a home for DJX anyway.

SpoilerThe brother of WYF's uncle's wife, who almost raped her when she was younger, assaults and injures WYF. SY was angry with her for not telling him she got wounded, and for not taking care more that he got a chance to hurt her again.
It was darn so funny in the novel cos SY would be complaining to WYF that SY was beaten up by DJX, but SY feels he still got the better deal cos DJX had to still host him. LMAO, he would even tell WYF that even the undies he's wearing is from DJX.
I was laughing a bit when SZ was feeling bad that SY wasn't staying longer for her to tour him around Yihe. Cos the reality is that
SpoilerStudent SY visits Yihe almost every 2 weeks to get a glimpse from afar of WYF while she attends the same uni as SZ. He will do this until WYF moves back to work in Nanwu. 😭😥😢

Maybe enough of JY in the drama, but not yet of XY cos SZ is still interning there as of end of Ep21. XY should and would apologize because she mistreated SZ over an issue that has nothing to do with her.
SpoilerJY doesn't fare well in the novel at the end, since her mother remarried and she would be thrown out by the stepfather and her mother because of their incessant bickering. Later on JY would be seeking mental health intervention...at least she seeks help professional finally!

When it comes to looks, the Cdrama leads didn't disappoint. They're just as good-looking, and have plenty of similarities withtheir manhua counterparts.

The drama is fast paced, like every ep is at least a few weeks and even months, but he became more aware of her as a "wife" when he had his surgery, thanks to the hard of hearing old man's comments. 😅

SpoilerInitially, yes. But not because they dislike DJX, they're worried that the chaotic JY and what happened to DJX's family in the past might adversely affect their life as a couple. They didn't want their daughter to be hurt later by these issues.
They would later agree, when SY intervenes and sides with DJX and SZ. Plus DJX moves to Nanwu and builds his own enterprise.

For those who aren't aware, there were Karens calling for banning this drama because it was supposedly promoting grooming/pedophilia. Which is nonsense cos DJX isn't always with SZ, and if anything he was more of a 3rd parent/2nd sibling than a creep. He is always admonishing her over how she regards SY and studies! Even promises gifts if grades are good. Plus, he only fell for her and thought a lot about it first before he decided to pursue her when she was almost 19yrs old.
I've read before the story, and if the drama would also follow how the novel revealed when DJX and SZ fell in love, it should happen in the last 3 episodes. Dunno if drama DJX finds out the same way as in the novel. 🙂 Gosh, if he finds out that way, I'm guessing that it could be as emotional as the iconic airport scene of Ep7.
The drama so far is so close to the novel, with barely any changes except that SY is a softer sibling, the age difference of 5 instead of 7 years, and JY being so clingy. Novel JY was always hostile to DJX, yet expects and tells everyone that he and she will get married. Like woah, girl, we get your agony and angst losing your father that way, but paying back doesn't mean DJX should also suffer for life!
Given the success of Hidden Love, I'm excited, and hope it's true that the rumours of SY's story First Frost would also begin fiming soon.

Dear @bai, I'd always remember how sweet a mango pudding you were. Although we haven't interacted more the recent months, I've always thought of you as one of the best in JH, and my co-admirer of a beautiful Cdrama goddess.

Happened in Ep25, when he sat with DJX ala face the parents, but SY didn't really have speaking lines. I wish the script allowed SY to voice his objections over the parents' hang-ups on DJX's familial background.
I'd rate the drama 8.5/10 over-all for being so close to the novel, excellent casting choices, and the final editing which included "flashback/background scenes" at the end of each episodes. Moreover, I'm quite happy that from the original 24, the drama was allowed 25 eps which meant there are more eye candies for viewers. 😊
Same, sigh. Times like this, I kinda wish that the drama is for more mature audiences. Then there would have been, ehem, for one thing, shower scenes. 😅
OMO, CZY's crying DJX was so raw and full of pain. The scene was perfectly built up, from being stoic as he talked to his father one last time, to finally breaking down once SZ takes him in her arms.
