  1. @abs-oluteM, @NiteWalker @themarchioness @SnT morning everyone. TGIT(Tuesday). Catch up with you all tonight after we get 2 more episodes. If they do flood E31-40, when do you think they will do it? Today or Thursday?
  2. I did the same, I used google translate, though be prepared to be a little exasperated with the translations. You can get a general feel of things. Just a heads-up, Books 3 and 4 are when the romance part kicks in. Book 2 is almost devoid of it. I glanced thru the list of characters and I suspect the drama takes Book 1, 3 and 4, as 3 is where the FL's mystery gets solved and 4 is where the ML's mystery gets solved. As for the airing of this drama, am eagerly awaiting for its premiere, hopefully not too much longer.
  3. The other 3 are in Chinese, can you understand? Here's the llnk to the novel in Chinese https://www.51shucheng.net/yanqing/zanzhonglu Only the first book was translated, and available in kindle, the rest, nope.
  4. lol, know you know why I chose banana, my Mandarin comprehension ain't that fantastic as well. I think she should be making her decision in the next few episodes? I wonder when the kidnapping takes place? and whether she will make her decision before or after that?
  5. looks like it yah! That's the first thing that comes to mind as well. @abs-oluteM oh yes, the meddling ex of Dr Zhang is very annoying but the advice she gave him after the death of the patient was well-intentioned, she didn't want him to overly burden himself with guilt. Though the way she does it is really very task-master-like. As for ZR, I think saving himself was not so much the motivation but he was doing it to find a way to get his mother out of the clutches of Lao Ye. Because he really can't do that alone. @themarchioness Glad to know that you understand Chinese too, seems like all the MDG viewers here can watch it raw.
  6. @SnT @themarchioness yes, LMZ's concern is about TY, not about the cousin. But I like how he was so poetic about his explanation to LMZ. Every character in the poetry with the female character, he wil see her face. I don't know if @themarchioness knows chinese but it's this word he means: 女 , it usually appears in combination with other words in the creation of chinese characters. Meaning he does have her in his heart, which is really sweet. This is really an ahjussi romance, he is so much older than her, supposed 21.
  7. oh he looks so different from Maiden Holmes! Is he starring in anything soon?
  8. @SnT Thanks awfully for the link. I am not looking forward to next week because of work. But because of this trailer, I am now. AWWW that is so sweet, when he said I came to fetch you. And he is truly good at taking advantage of her, in a good way, appealing to her sympathy and getting to enjoy being doted upon. Really smart guy.
  9. I have a new-found respect for the shrieking cousin. Looks indeed can be deceiving. Imagine at '21' having such a matured conversation about Tian Yong, about why she chose him. Though I don't know, if as LMZ put it, he is just her passing fancy.
  10. @themarchioness @NiteWalker @abs-oluteM @Snowleaf Awwww... what an honest conversation they had at around 31minutes of E23. Those words could only have come from our forthright XC, and that she told him how she felt and her reservations about being left behind in a relationship, way to go girl! oh, and thank heavens the lift didn't arrive until she finished saying what she had to say. enough of interruptions.
  11. Thanks @SnT I just saw the preview as well with subs. Way to go gal! She learns real fast and was able to protect herself. I am so proud of our girl!!! If anyone is interested to watch premium but don't want to commit to too much....
  12. @NiteWalker you got a preview? How do you know she is going to stay on camp?
  13. @abs-oluteM @SnT yes I feel like it's one step forward and 10 steps back. I feel completely at a loss for XC, she must be so conflicted right now. She is not one to let go of relationships easily judging from how long the first one has haunted her. And now she has this second one that is making her feel insecure.
  14. @abs-oluteM I know right, they didn't show us the explanation about the transfer, which is prolly why he said not around this time. I think that's why she ends up being taken hostage? She prolly asks to be transferred or will take on a stint abroad to see him? Shierking cousin is so funny, reporting to the aunt about them going to the marriage registrar and after that congratulating her on an impending grandson! Hilarious, actually she doesn't look a bit like she's 21 though, so I found it more believable for her to talk like that to her aunt, like coming from someone more matured. And Tian Yong putting down the phone and calling the cousin was just as funny. Seriously you can't have privacy on camp, with such inquisitive team-mates. OK, after watching E22, I think we are going to go through a period where they get separated before they even actually get together. [SIGH]. I think I know what she is thinking, she's afraid of getting hurt, of losing someone again, after her first bad encounter. She doesn't want to tell him to change his career, she probably realises that it won't be easy if someone were to ask her to change hers as well, it's something he's passionate about and terribly good at. And he's waiting for her to ask him to, because that's an indication that she is sure about being with him. But I hope he realises that after such a traumatic first love for her, she won't be able to so easily commit to a second one, the fear will be real. Look at how frozen in the past she is, something will need to happen to compel her to move forward, and that 'catalyst' hasn't quite happened, just yet. I like though that he was forthcoming, he's finally admitted that he likes her, and that he's going to get redeployed. The ball is in her court. I am not sure I am looking forward to tomorrow's episodes. And I hope for goodness sake, they bring on the flood of episodes next week.
  15. Yah I was wondering what's with this old guy taking photos of XC? I just interviewed someone for work and the topic of personnel and business security was broached, so when you wrote about how could people waltz in and out of the office, it brought on a chuckle. Yes, of course, he has to be able to deliver his cakes. But seriously, when I was a medical sales representative, I could walk quite easily into offices, less so for the private sector, more easily for government doctors' offices. So, security is less tight than you think. It's only operating theatres and ICUs that you can't because of germs and hygiene.
  16. @abs-oluteM I think ppl just tend to generalise and say it's another doctor-soldier romance without realising that most other dramas also are about rich chaebols and poor girls or princes/dukes and peasants. Absolutely right, SHK was more dignified in that role, except when she was drunk and jumping around on the sofa in one of the episodes. When she was interviewed about it, she was kinda embarassed but said that it actually happened to her before, which is why she acted that way in the drama. And SJK was more cheeky which added to his boyish charms. LMZ here is more the stereotypical image of a soldier but XC is really quite something, I wonder in a military hospital how her behaviour could have been put up with, probably 'kena' quite a few times for insubordination (having said that, in real life, high performers, are tolerated for their bad behaviours). And seriously, her boss is too soft, I don't think he would have survived in a real military hospital as well. I think her character at work is being portrayed as someone who accentuates the lofty ideals of being a doctor, prioritising life over everything else. Perhaps because in real life, we know medicine/private practice is miles apart from what she depicts. Yah I saw some of the comments on Douban, really quite harsh, but then when people can remain anonymous behind a keyboard, they dare say things without thinking about the impact of their actions on others. Edited: After being dunked in the sea, and dripping wet, gee their clothes dried a bit too fast? I can see the dry strands of wool or synthetic fibres?
  17. @NiteWalker to give you an idea of what I meant about the car plunging headlong into the sea for DOTS. No way, YSJ (ML) could have taken off seat belt. agree - can tell it was a swimming pool, very obvious! they found the listening device? Yah I thought that was what he said, but wasn't 100% sure as it was quite fast and my reading skills of the Chinese subs is really sub-par. YAY for them, no more eavesdropping by creepy ZR. @SnT Readings subs gets some taking used to but after sometime it's ok. I need subs for C-drama most times as well, so what would I do w/out subs? DOTS was THE show that most people were going crazy over during that period. You should watch it, the chemistry is really good, naturally as they were oredi secretly dating then.
  18. I like how he instinctively protects her. I think in DOTS, YSJ kept his seat belt on, because it was a more practical thing to do. AND of course, theirs was falling headlong off a cliff into the sea (almost 90 degrees), so he would have crashed into the windscreen w/out the seat belt on. Whereas this one, there's an arc to the car and a more gentle dive into the sea. But still, that he would disregard his own safety to protect her in his arms, SWOON. @SnT Mi Gu also knows, she's in denial, it takes two to tango. As she confessed to XC in the hospital, their relationship is more than one step away. But ethics-wise, yes, he's no Saint. And that he would endanger XC with the car chase totally shows that he could care less about putting her in harm's way. So, no matter what happens, this character will get no empathy or sympathy for me, when it comes to his relationship with XC. @NiteWalkerI saw from the preview, that he gets jealous? And XC pushes LMZ in defense of ZR and that is why he gets angry? (as explained by screeching cousin)
  19. But that scene at the hospital where our girl says she fell into the sea and the teacher/doctor says "you've worked hard" feels like such an understatement. I tot that was rather off in the script. Frankly, give me the other doctor/ teacher from YAMH anytime. That one is such a dashing and intelligent gentlemen. This one is so comedic. Also what a waste of LMZ taking leave. Initially it was to keep her company after the scare she had. But since then he has been at home while she has been at work. The only consolation is he can bring her dinner/supper in the form of cakes and show up to offer her his bank card. Couldn't they have spent his vacation time like on a date well sort of one anyway? (pouts and grumbles while wagging an accusing finger at the scriptwriter )
  20. @abs-oluteM I swear LMZ is such a tease for using 'three words'. For a soldier with such a 'kayu' face, he is such a flirt. My goodness, the shierking cousin actually verbalised whatever he was feeling. Ok, she's much smarter and so much more perceptive than what she appeared to be in the first place. I love how Tian Yong brought out his phone and the book of poems. I couldn't stop laughing at his revelation - a phone is for making calls, isn't it? And I just wanted to say, Thank God it's Tuesday.
  21. awww.... one of my favourite moments from W-Two Worlds, inspired by Puuung
  22. Isn't this what a girl normally does for a guy? What a flipping of roles!
  23. I live and work in selangor now so we are within the same state. Yaloh, how come he doesn't like durians???
  24. hello @abs-oluteM yup yup, Ipoh born and bred. I saw on iQiyi by accident. For season 3, only 2 episodes loaded so far. I saw Miriam Yeung there and her hubby who are also on that show (it's such a shock to see her now since I was a teenager when I was into HKTVB dramas). So far, have only seen Johnny cook, he fried lamb chops and the hosts were saying he knows how to cook - true that - Western style with butter and rosemary. Chenny is afraid of the gamey taste of lamb but he said not bad...Both guys look like they know how to cook, though Johnny looks more pro. Chenny was better at making the bed, Johnny was fumbling around trying to put on the duvet/comforter cover.
