  3. NG cut Collection 1 Nice fanart I think, this scene was said to be a scene after she saw San's mom, and given the circumstances i probably two things that she thinks she would lose at this instance: - HER LIFE - her recent experience of her life hang in the balance between the royals, the aunt threatened to place her in 100 lashing, the king threatened to just kill her, sans mom threatened to expose his traitor father that could lead to her being killed or a slave. Even san also hibted about hee life with asking if she has 10 lives to spare. - HER FREEDOM / CHOICE - san's mom gave her an order to spy on San and she was given no choice of the matter. Its do this or death. so do this!!! I think being DeokIm she values her life and choices she makes, but being a courtlady she is powerless and on the whims of these royals. At this point i think, DeokIm though has built some respect for San, she has never even thought or considered the idea of any attachement to San. So other than be a servant that respects and does her job, San is her master and the sky, and nothing more...

  7. we have book version, drama version, webtoon version... how about lego version oh my gawd thats awesome. definitely, figuratively and physically swept off his feet...!!! and looking forward for him to finally admit it verbally soon.. cause I need this: before we go to the "sad mournful romance between the king and the court lady" they touted this to be
  8. other evidence he goes angry mode for these court ladies, with lcokced pay, lashing and punishments... (who was rather fee) for having unkept hair, being late and being overly friendly... but with DeokIm, who clearly called him a "jerk"... a liar... and annoying... he even kep twaiting for 3 days and then when they do meet with all things revealed he makes her sit beside at the same level as him, then gives her 30 minutes to speak her mind and treat him as hey were before.. definitely whipped...!
  9. BTS episode 4 | Eng Sub HERE @abs-oluteM @mademoiselle I think she was forwarned by the other court lady friend, plus she is smart to sense danger... they looked liked pirahna's circling about... hahaha
  10. Here are some of Lee Seyoung's recent SNS updates and man Lee Seyoung has been in the industry for 9000days...!!! congratulating Lee Seyoung for sung a long and great career...!!! 2nd OST: by Ben
  11. @mademoiselle his voice is normally deep, but I think he lowered it more, (like 1 tone or 2 deeper) and here he is singing with his deep voice: About Hwahwan seeing how vicious she is in this drama, I am happy that she was stripped from her title. haha. And i think Seo Hyorim also has finished all her scenes, so it means that she would be the first arc's villains. with the Queen and probably the court lady being a latter one...?. Regarding the different factions... I feel for DeokIm, especially with the number of times she rejected him for the duration 15 years. I think seeing that very complicated family politics between San and his family, she knew it was just to dangerous to be in that situation. San was born for that place, plus he got ways to counter it. but for her. he life was literally in the hands of people who can make a better argument. it didnt even matter if the argument was better or not. then when you include the ministers and the even the court ladies. MBC had this post: who would you choose? For the young court ladies would definitely choose Deokroo, cause they are fangirls... and I just wanna say I kinda laughed and rolled my eyes at their reaction of waiting and en masse going after the girl that was rumored to have interaction 'their oppa' royal lecturer... I choose, San, cause he is Junho. and I am fangirl....
  12. 5 Reasons Why “The Red Sleeve” Is Stealing Viewers’ Hearts Nov 21, 2021 | by U. Kim MBC’s “The Red Sleeve” is being praised as a must-watch historical drama! “The Red Sleeve” is about the imperial romance between crown prince Yi San (played by 2PM’s Lee Junho), who later becomes emperor, and the strong-willed court lady Seong Deok Im (played by Lee Se Young). The drama’s latest episode achieved its highest ratings yet, and the drama also became the No. 1 buzzworthy drama for the second week of November. Below are five reasons why “The Red Sleeve” is captivating viewers! 1. The engrossing story “The Red Sleeve” pulled viewers in from the beginning with its creative spin on the story of real-life historical figures King Jeongjo, the 22nd ruler of the Joseon dynasty (born under the name Yi San), and royal concubine Ui of the Seong clan (Seong Deok Im). The first episode portrayed the short encounter between young Yi San and young Seong Deok Im as well as the pressure Yi San had to endure as the son of Crown Prince Sado (Do Sang Woo) and grandson of King Yeongjo (Lee Deok Hwa). The young Seong Deok Im comforted the tormented young Yi San and marked the beginning of a fated romance that would unfold in the future. In the second episode, Yi San and Seong Deok Im reunited as adults, and Yi San began to interact with Seong Deok Im while hiding his status as the eldest son of the Crown Prince. 2. Lee Junho and Lee Se Young’s acting and chemistry Lee Junho and Lee Se Young have caught the audience’s eye with their acting that befits a historical drama. Lee Junho is capturing hearts with his charming looks, smooth voice, and clear diction, while Lee Se Young impresses with her elegant appearance and versatile acting abilities. The two of them have fun, youthful chemistry when they have little squabbles, but when they share their real feelings with each other, they create a romantic atmosphere. Episode 2 came to an end with a moment of tension and romance, leaving viewers wondering how their relationship and the story will unfold. 3. Strong supporting actors The solid acting by actors Kang Hoon (playing Hong Deok Ro), Lee Deok Hwa, Park Ji Young (playing Chief Court Lady), and Jang Hee Jin (playing Queen Jeongsun) also received positive reviews. Kang Hoon made viewers suspicious with the occasional cold gaze he hid behind his bright face, while Lee Deok Hwa made everyone hold their breaths with his powerful aura. Park Ji Young and Jang Hee Jin also added more dynamic energy to the drama with their presence. 4. The visual art As it’s MBC’s first historical drama in two years, the art directors have gone all out for “The Red Sleeve.” The vibrant yet refined costumes are created using high quality textiles, and the rich textures accentuate the beauty of the hanbok. The high winged caps that are representative of the late Joseon era, the braided hairdo done by court ladies, and other details in the props and costumes are successfully appealing to fans of historical dramas. Scenes such as the court ladies’ festival in episode 2 are providing visual entertainment through their beautiful art, costumes, and hair. 5. The lush music Following the drama’s broadcasts, netizens took to the internet to praise the music director. Music director No Hyung Woo, who has experience working on music for various films and dramas, created the lavish music in collaboration with various orchestra musicians. Viewers have been sharing that the harmonious mix of traditional and modern elements in the music is amplifying the drama’s soft emotions. 13. I just checked talking cupboard about this, and maybe it is because she is assigned to the Eastern palace where they would be ranked differently court ladies. HERE: https://thetalkingcupboard.com/2014/06/15/women-of-the-joseon-dynasty-part-1/ but I think we will get to know when the drama airs this friday... he really doesn't look happy, I think San has seen how his aunt has targeted DeokIm.. with DeokIm follwing him in ep4, the suspicion of DI being a spy is high; and San probably knows Deokroo will have no qualms to killer her much like ep4 end, The preview show that he has recommended/sated she leave, but here she was in the palace again. this totally rocks his plans... and here are the behind the scene clips for ep4
  14. hahah I feel you episode was quite heavy. all thhe things that happened was such a heavy dose of everything form the leads interaction, to the political side reveal. and to more info with the dealings and life of court lady.. I get whiplash form all that. about being called a 'Traitor', I think it has to do with being either being part of Sado's Men. I think as it was suggested with court ladies, the same goes to a royal's entourage. if the master does wrong usually the people around them would be considered part of the conspiracy or traitors or criminals. and they would usually be put under the same circumstances or punishments. so with that I concur that DI father is one of Sado's men, and thus would usually be labelled a criminal and their family be thought the same... so in turn both DI and her brother are too... with Yisan's mom, based on stories of Lady Hyegyeong was considered a perfect queen to be, and most likely followed all the norms; but after thr tragdy of Sado the drama is making her a tiger mom who will do anything to protect her son against conspiracy and the scheming that could hurt San. So I think she will do every thing she can to know and maybe help his son. and in some ways I like this portrayal of hers In Yisan he was portrayed as someone who was very righteous and very loyal to San for a long time. and he really did help san to the throne, but I think the greed to him. this drama is portraying him from the start as solely one dimensional in being scheming for Yi San to be king. so his only purpose in the drama.... as far as I know, the queen is not San's adoptive mother, cause that would make the king his adoptive father which is not the case in their naming and appellation. I think, Lee San was put under the line under the first son of King Yeongjo Crown Prince Hyojang, who actually died before Sado was born, like 7 years apart. I know it doesn't make sense but I think to yeongjo to somehow help San in being distanced the label "Son of a prisoner" or "Son of a psycho" due to Sado, he used this method to make San be more eligible to succeed the throne
  15. court lady girl group Young Yisan actors BTS pics: interesting and enlightening context, I only thought of it in the surface, that the ministers were implying that San was trying to usurp the king by trying to kill and the tiger. and with how easily he killed it, they are trying to make the King doubt his grandson about Deokro's sister. I remember her from Yisan. and she did only have a few episodes so i am curious if they would bring her up in this drama or not. I mean we still have not seen a glimpse of San's consort... so i wonder if we will see his women/harem
  16. @Tofu I tend to spazz too mcuh I go fangirl mode, and Junho is awesome (for me) at this moment. yes I am a stan... I read somewhere (wiki and other sources) that it was King Yeongjo who ultimate made the decision to make Sado go in the rice chest without food and water. but before that decision, Sado with all of his missdeeds (cruelty, riot, etc), everything spinning out of control (mental illness) and with the last straw with the Sado attempting to kill Yeongjo, I think Yeongbin had no other choice but to finally go to Yeongjo to put a stop of Sado. Thus she opted for a choice that was hard but a choice that would save San and solve the problem; she asked Yeongjo to remove Sado but beseech for the protection and safeguard of San and her mother. So that is why Yeongjo didn't order Sado to be beheaded/exiled/take poison, these punishments are which would make Sado a criminal in their court... and just had him enter the rice box. This would be the form of protection to San and his mom. So this is where San thinks she is to blame. For San, Yeong-bin request of Sado is the final nail in the coffin that sealed Sado's tragedy. @suhodorable I think the changes on drama vs novel is more of the POV and the justification of choices; so the novel is mostly based on DeokIm's POV, her view on San, the royal family, her court lady life... But in the drama to make it more dynamic, you see a more balance narrative between San and DeokIm. plus i think more on the scheming and politics... I was seeing some post skeptical about the reflection in the water, which personally I was too... but Junho's Vlog really shows that it is possible. ...but yeah the positioning is still a bit questionable since, but for narrative point of view, this is possible 2PM’s Lee Junho And Lee Se Young Grow Closer After She Is Promoted To His Court In “The Red Sleeve” Nov 20, 2021 | by E. Cha MBC’s “The Red Sleeve” has shared a sneak peek of an intimate moment between 2PM’s Lee Junho and Lee Se Young! “The Red Sleeve” is a new historical drama about the imperial romance between crown prince Yi San (played by Lee Junho), who later becomes emperor, and the strong-willed court lady Seong Deok Im (played by Lee Se Young). SPOILER LINK: https://www.soompi.com/article/1499520wpp/2pms-lee-junho-and-lee-se-young-grow-closer-after-she-is-promoted-to-his-court-in-the-red-sleeve
  17. Episode 4 preview | Eng Sub woah glad that the ratings as well as audience are slowly getting hooked on the drama but I really have to commend the drama for having such a good balance (so far) of light romance and politics scheming scenes and royal family narrative... I do wonder since this is licensed by viki/viu, will netflix take over it...? but if Beyond Evil was able to do it, why not this one... I asked someone who read the novel and she mentioned that the drama changed a lot of things from novel not only from the DeokIm focused POV but scenes too. she said that this definitely is way more comedic... She also mentioned that regarding his crown princess consort, "reason why YiSan do not like women". so i guess the main reason we have not seen much of her in this drama is because in Yisan's POV he just doesn't have much interaction with her...
  18. I think much like what Head Court Lady Jo mentioned with the young DeokIm regarding the lives of court ladies would be, and hinting on what to aspire for. One can clearly see that Head Court Lady Jo once had aspiration to be the King's woman and be like Royal Noble Consort Yeongbin, here are notes from TALKING CUPBOARD on her: but most likely the drama will ascertain that that her not being picked compared to yeong bin will be the reason ft this. palaces always have psychos, and the harem usually have the worst of it... I mean, what I learned from Chinese dramas are, whether a girl enters the palace in their naive/kind persona or their arrogant/high handed personality, once in residence, you need your wits, ruthless and cunning to survive and thrive.... These flowers that king's keep in the backyard have thorns the size of swords.... hidden and sharp thorns/swords... and it was definitely a HINT. though come on who would have thought that it was. hahaha I really love that scene.... that reveal was so adorable especially San still trying to hide his identity with the fan... and DeokIm actually just looking at his dragon robes and not his face, before finally getting the glimpse in the relfection...
  19. I had to recheck their rating's promise from Kim Shinyoung's radio show Noon Song of Hope. 7% - LJH & LSY would be guest again 10% - LJH & LSY would be special DJ's and Kim Shinyoung will have off that day among the villains and oppositions she is actually the most interesting for me. Her duality and the way she projects herself makes her stand out so much. I love her... the hugs between King YeoongJo and San (young and adult)
