  1. Filming Location : House of Choi Champan in Hadong This blogger posted that she was able to witness filming location of Bossam when she visited the place. The theme park is called Choi Champandaek or also known as House of Choi Champan, located in Hadong--a 4 hour travel thru train. I find the place exquisite because of the architecture of the houses, which is quite different with the earlier Joseon period. It is noted that the setting of the drama is near the first Japanese invasion era. Other dramas filmed here : Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung , Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, Moon Embracing the Sun.

  11. good news ! Update: “River Where The Moon Rises” To Re-Film First 6 Episodes With Na In Woo As On Dal + Episode 1 Available Soon Updated March 28 KST: Episodes 1 to 6 of “River where the Moon Rises” with Na In Woo as On Dal are coming to us sooner than expected! On March 28, the drama revealed that episode 1 will be available on VOD services starting March 29 KST. A source from the drama explained, “Thanks to director Yoon Sang Ho’s decisiveness and the cast and staff’s cooperation, we are able to show viewers the first episode of ‘River Where the Moon Rises’ on VOD services sooner than we had anticipated. We will do our best to also provide episodes 2 to 6 on VOD services as soon as possible.” Source (1)
  12. @stroppyseThe backlash i think is so severe that it’s all over the media and online portals. In Naver talk alone , it already has 125k comments. The Blue House petition breached 200k as of yesterday and they are planning to file another set of petition when it comes to overseas copyrights. The public is aware of the show being sold internationally. The royal descendants also sent their complaints: The Jeonju Lee Royal Family Association, comprised of ancestors of the Lee clan of Joseon which ruled Korea for over 500 years, has issued a statement calling on SBS to cancel the controversial drama series, 'Joseon Exorcist'. Back on march 24, the Jeonju Lee Royal Family Association stated, "We request the immediate cancellation of the drama 'Joseon Exorcist', which distorted Korean history and culture and showed favoritism toward China's Northeast History Project." The Association also added, "SBS's 'Joseon Exorcist' took the names of historical figures King Taejong, Grand Prince Yangyeong, Prince Choongneyong (later King Sejong) and incorporated them into a falsely distorted narrative. As a result, the majority of the nation has raised concerns over the false historical portrayal and negative view that this drama will cast on the royal family of Joseon, and in agreement, we have decided to demand a solution to this issue from the broadcasting station and the production staff involved immediately." Based on what I also read from theqoo— 1. The timeline of Joseon x Christianity doesn’t match 2. King Taejong asked Vatican City for help which was never depicted in history 3.According to insiders, the direction of the story leads to Prince Cheongneyong to deal with the evil spirits and become an exorcist (this made the knets much angrier). If we have to compare the historical reference less the fantasy element of this show, My Country and Six Flying Dragons did fair well in keeping the timeline intact. If only, the production decided to just use fictional names. Overall it is just so saddening to let this drama go .
  13. setting aside the historical reference i enjoyed the first two episodes. but then stakes and risks are high when you involve in your narrative prominent historical figures who carry your country’s national pride. It is just so sad to see this unfinished material go. The potential to be a good drama was there.
  14. Thank you @mademoiselle for the behind the scenes ! Omo , shyboy Inwoo is cute . Snippet on the bts And yay for good news! “River Where The Moon Rises” To Re-Film First 6 Episodes With Na In Woo As On Dal by D. Kim “River Where the Moon Rises” has announced their decision to re-film the first six episodes. It was first confirmed on March 5 that Na In Woo will be taking over the role of On Dal following Ji Soo‘s departure from the drama. Since then, the drama has finished re-filming all scenes from episodes 7 through 18 that include On Dal. However, as replays of the first six episodes were removed from Korean VOD sites, many fans of the drama, especially new viewers, expressed their wishes to also watch the previous episodes. As a result, “River Where the Moon Rises” will be re-filming the first six episodes with Na In Woo to provide on VOD sites. The production team commented, “There is an increasing amount of viewers who are expressing their hopes to watch episodes 1 through 6 again. In order to help current viewers be more immersed in the drama and also lure in new viewers, we will re-film episodes 1 through 6 and resume replay services. Please look forward to episodes 1 through 6 that will be completely recreated with Na In Woo’s On Dal.” “River Where the Moon Rises” airs every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. KST.
