@IpohBanana oh...u too? me too...i watch ep 19 and stopped till now for UL. but i must finish it since i like both leads so much. 

Crush has very nice cinematography as well. esp the lights, rain and wind maybe because they played with slowness and sound n light because the ml is almost blind.  angst is like only 2 ep plus - 3 max. ML is a little new. reminds me of sweet teeth ml in terms of look. FL wan peng is a very usual face in c drama playing modern love story. she is good. not artificial pretty but natural in look and acting.

Lets hope sweet teeth angst is short because it is only 22 episode.

seriously how did bi wen jun makes dreadfulness of going to the dentist a glossy almost glowing kinda experience hahaha...i guess if my dentist is that handsome it will make my dentist trips a look forward to experience. but i think he did well in this drama...he has a calm style to him which makes him believable for  a profession like dentist. from he handle the equipment he exudes the dentist air. my second dentist in c drama. song wei long as the first in go ahead. but i think bi wen jun is a better dentist hahaha...

the fl did well as a awkward yet sensitive gal. she chooses a simple life and stick to it. not many ppl can do that. 

i m done with ep 12...is the angst starting. will dr ai forge ahead or will he scutter off. hope he will be brave. but from synopsis he is going to run to africa. hope they don drag the separation long or towards the end. i like Crush is because they break up ep 14 and 15 and have at least 9 episodes of being together again. like unforgetable love break up at ep 19-20 is horrid.

@SnTYes, Allen Ren has charm that hard to decipher. Start to noticed him from Under The Power. Miss Crow & Mr Lizard seal the deal for me. 

I think his ori voice is more gentle. They prob meed a older deeper voice. Bailu voice is dubbed too i think. Her original voice is deeper. Guess they need a more girly voice here.

same here. i like bai lu. she is pretty and most of her role is not acting cute but quite smart and strong. TBH i am quite neutral about allen ren and his look and i never fangirl him. i mean i appreciate his performance and every drama he is in, i appreciate his stable and solid acting. But from this drama i actually start to think he is very good looking. his eyes can talk in a way. the way he carried zsc makes the character to multi dimension- very classy, stately and princely even and yet with shiyi, he is tender and a little lost about what to do with a gal who is actually gentle, softspoken and ladylike. And his interaction with his troop and disciples is that of a very smart and strict teacher who cares about them a lot and has some humour to him. i appreciate he did not try to do the stony face and icy general act, which will be so boring.

@Tofu i took a glance at ep 6 the uncle is very ill and mum explained that they cant even let the news of uncle passing be known. cause uncle had made enemies while supporting the new emperor esp that eunuch and the general liu. so shiyi marriage to the royal family is the only surviving way for the cui clan now as the uncle is so ill and i noticed that she just nodded her head and agreed.

actually shiyi was betrothed by old emperor to the crown prince but they changed it to marry into the royal family. wish they just marry her to zsc who is also qualified as the royal family but that it is too powerful a combo. sigh. 

yes 2k troop to look after her. she is definitely their golden gal. Poor gal. she is the only gal in the family somemore. And i dont think anyone expect him to teach her anything. because they all know she is there to be another good solid link for western side with the central court. that is all. and he is pretty much away 90% of the time. 

Also great that drama makes the age gap smaller. which makes sense more. less unsettling definitely compared if he is like 30 and she is like 14 or something. hahaha....

@SilverMoonTea i think maybe i can try explaining why her uncle send her to zsc as pupil. It is all a political move. Even though zsc already double swear loyalty to the new emperor (him bow to n acknowledge the nephew as emperor plus his oath to never hv wife n offspring) they still want insurance. They kinda explain in ep1. 

Shiyi at that point was suppose to marry that the crown prince which has turned emperor. Both are still kids, marriage will only happen later n she is technically future empress. That is the pinaccle of cui family power. shiyi uncle just help the young prince to the throne n at that point when her uncle suggested the pupilage thingy he really thought his niece will become a new empress soon. so not only they want the oath from zsc, they want to tie him further w the soon to be empress. Shiyi purpose was to hv a good tie to the most powerful guy in the country at that point who is holding a 700k army. Imagine emperor's uncle was also teacher to empress. In case emperor step on his uncle zsc's tail they still hv the soft power of empress have over her teacher to sooth things out.  Pretty much an alliance in some way.  Her uncle also want to eliminate rumours that cui family has anmosity w nancheng side. 

But it was later rest of official n empress dowager play out the uncle by forcing shiyi to remain crown princess to the newly appointed crown prince. The sly ppl... Imagine both emperor n crown prince is about sane age. This supposedly crown prince has almost zero chance to take the throne. By the time both grew up, emperor if live to ripe old age that crown prince will be too old to take the throne. N somemore emperor will likely hv his own offspring. Basically it is to curb the cui family from being too powerful. Shiyi is a forever crown princess. A pawn in the game of throne.

@Yana @Tofu yeah 17 will be about right and he is a good 14 years older than her about 30. which makes sense. so when she arrive at his manor she is about 13 turning 14 since she was about to celebrate her birthday as in ep 1 where started with her waiting for the news of victory and court sending her birthday gift. and before he left first time he gave her a birthday gift of the stamps of all defeated generals and ep 5 is about her celebrating birthday again.

I have only finished up to ep 5. and i noticed that everyone treated her princess. from zsc to the disciples. the 3rd disciple xie yun obviously dotes on her and the two ladies general as well, the eldest disciple also gives in to her all the time. ZSC words was very telling of him doting on her...when she pour away the expensive tea, he was like  u like tea, i will buy u tea. but u cannot waste them. punishment : copy tea names hahaha....talk about so much of punishment.

And I think it started to change for zsc from ep 4 and 5 onwards. first after 19 months away he turned around and saw her grown into a young lady. and ep 5 he was stunned at how pretty she was smiling in the kitchen. to me both instances esp 5 has him to feel somehow differently about her. and he obviously started asking his soldiers about if they have wives and children.

Prior episodes i just get the gist that he dotes on her like an uncle. and all the brothers and sisters disciples too, because their environment is so manly, full of harshness, toughness, roughness even for the lady generals - army camps, battlefields, blood, killing etc. the whole nancheng manor is like a tough shell. they come and go freely wo leaving behind any care. obviously she brought softness to them and to the manor. Bailu did such a good job of being a gentle lady. even i can feel her tenderness and gentleness. so ladylike yet so unspoilt and all of they started to feel the feeling of someone waiting for you at  home, so stay alive. its like home, hope, haven for them  come back to.

When ZSC stands together w shiyi in the drama...i keep having this thoughts...zsc, she is your perfert wangfei. why u go make that swearing about not having wife and kids...aikkkkksssssssss

looks like we have many people coming to this drama...hahaha...hi everyone.

I watched 5 episodes. love it and the beauty of the sets and the mood. but i know this 24 episodes will be about how they fall in love from a relationship starting like a doting uncle and  teenager to her growing into a beautiful young lady who is soothing and sweet and how they cannot express their love and parted in death at last. the eyes when they look at each other is so good. i actually think allen ren looks really good here. but i know i need a lot of tissues for this part of the story. so i am contemplating to wait for whole drama to release before starting. What do you ladies think?

For me, it started with her being 10. and few years passed. i assume she is only 13 or 14 when she went to xizhou. and by episode 1 she was waiting for the news of victory on the rooftop ( months prob passed) and that must be the first time he left. She has bangs and two ribbon knots. that is fashion for little gal i think and he left again and that was 19 months passng. so to me ep 4 she was about 16- 17. and she has a clear forehead and her hair is one knots on top d.

 in ep 5 they explained, ZSC left the palace when he was barely a teenager and fought so hard to lead the army but the time he was her age he was already a famous general (explained in ep 2 when they send off her mother). i guess that is why they ppl call him Little nancheng prince because he was really a kid when he lead the battle. so i assume he must be 25- 26 when they met first time. and now he is about 28. i pick that from the hair too. in ep 1 he has a half knotted hair and when he went to the palace for the funeral the emperor was a kid too. now mostly they hair is all knotted up. 

that crown prince will be dark figure. and the causes of the all the hardship between them. he fall in love with her after seeing her portrait first time. he felt a little screw up with the torture the dowager gave him. prob gonna be turning dark very soon.

mw in p&C as zsn is a handsome nerd who is into academic and research. this environment itself is tamer and less menacing. so he has not cunningness whereas hqy is a businessman and good at playing 'games'. just look at ling family and his aunty. don think the character can lead a multibillion listed company being just a scientific straight guy. so yes zsn is less spikey and more like a normal guy than hqy. i think miles wei is a great actor to play the difference so well. at least we all notice that bit of difference between the two portrayal. i like the pacing of P&C better too and less angsty.

here there a few illogical points and mess up in editing. of course throwing in breakup at ep 20-22 is horrid.

love hyx new drama. i went in with hyx in mind. and din expect to like it. it is based on 1990s chinese neighbourhood feel. high school first and then going to uni. love the oldish 90s feel the dynamic of friends, neighbour, family. she is so comfortable in her role there as a teenager. i really think she is a great actress. the feel is different from dr qin. she looks so young in river runs through it. i just think she always don try to act the role. she always give the feeling she is the role. in sleepless princess, in unforgettable love and now river runs through it, i really just love this actress..

He even protects her from Aunt trying to get her to leave him. FL learns golf so she can win Aunt over, a sport that Aunt likes. Then something happens and Aunt meets FL outside the golf driving range where FL has been practicising, FL sees the driver, Aunt talks to FL, and the truth is revealed, the Aunt has been trying to hide things by bribing the driver so that our ML doesn't remember the truth and get devastated that he was the cause of the brother and sis-in-law's death. She wants him to keep believing that the driver was at fault. Tells our FL to leave him if not she's like a time bomb that can trigger his memories. I only watched till the scene of our FL, in tears, walking away.

 

[Me, thinking, should I watch some more? This is the typical angst arc... Then, me decides, let's FF to E22 and see if they've reconciled by then?? ]

 

on E22, nope they haven't, they've broken up. Worst still, he remembers that he's the driver. He is trying very hard to analyse (logical self tries to explain away the accident). He is downcast, depressed, neglecting work and son. In fact FL was about to go to Germany, making her way to the airport (to further herself) when ML's bestie calls, ML is missing. FL frantically looks everywhere for him and finds him in the office analysing a diagram of the accident. She decides not to go to Germany. She wants to pull him out of this rabbit hole. She goes to his house, cooks for him, stays up for him to have dinner, falling asleep. He pushes her away, tells her to stop coming, they are no longer an item. If she persists in coming to his place, he will move away with Xiao Bao. She leaves and has a discussion with her senior (the one who is interested in her) and he says there's no way, as psychologists they can help him, he has to help himself. They want him to try and recall his memories, she's suggested to him, but he thinks it's not use, the outcome will be the same, it's him who caused the death. BUT, our FL doesn't tell him she knows something else, that the driver being bribed actually had passed someone a large sum of money around the time of the traffic accident. And with his salary, there's no way he could have amassed so much money. She suspects there's more to it then that. BUT SHE DOESN'T TELL HIM, she only tells his bestie. [me thinking to myself, why don't you tell him? arghhh, he won't believe you??]

 

So the final scene for E22, is FL's senior/ one-way love interest going to ML's house, telling him that this afternoon, he will confess to FL that he likes her. [me thinks to myself, why go all the way there and tell him the location even and the timing? unless there's an agenda behind it? you want him to stop feeling sorry for himself?] ML asks senior whether he will stand a chance with FL. Senior replies, I have time, I will accompany FL with her studies. Besides, you have given up on her, you don't want her anymore, then you can't be selfish, let her go. ML says, you both have my blessings then! And Senior walks off. After that we see ML sitting looking at the child-like painting of him, her and Xiao Bao. He's obviously thinking about whether he really wants to let her go?

 

We next see FL being picked up by senior, ushered into the car and they are going to the riverside near a park. Senior holds out his hand to her and asks her to 'come along' or 'join him', sth to that effect. SHOW ENDS.

 

[me thinks to myself, ML will show up, he won't give her up so easily. And he will agree to, is it hypnotherapy? to recover his lost memories? me looks at calendar, sigh, one more week again just for 2 more episodes, and sighs again.]

 

thanks for this. i have not bring up my gut to watch this 4 episodes and i anticipate a lot of angst. arrrgggh....i will wait till 24 is released and binge them through. and this sounds like lots of angst. i think there will be another accident. cause fl and ml will be in hopsital together from one of the BTS. why must they rushed everything in last 2 episodes. they hardly had lots of time together as sweet couple. love these two. it is hard to find a drama i like both ml and fl at the same time equally hahaha....

meanwhile i go fangirling over yang yang in your are my glory. can someone tell me why i never watch yang yang drama till now. he is really good looking with a nice clean structured face. hahaha......

Summary:

She suggested termination of contract cause Xiaobao is beginning to talk well and start befriending other kids, she made a blunder with his business partner and thought she spoil his business and the Ling gal just cant stop reminding her how bad she is for Qiao yan. Angst is short because both are obviously not able to let go.

Qiaoyan found out 'accidentally' she has fallen for him. OMG his reaction is hilarious. i could not find the right english word for it. he obviously is sooooo delighted yet he act so cocky about it. So he is not going let her go for sure.

Qiaoyan confessed in a very businesslike way. again the guy is just hilarious. he is a true nerd. a kind and super sweet, patient and determined nerd hahaha.... but i must say his business acumen is really good and he applied that quite successfully in his relationship with yiyue. so funny he told ning fan off that he needs to recognise his market position and cut lost cause he has no chance and time has proven that. and he is always good a picking up high warning signs even in detecting 'enemy' is near. LOL. 

I have to say i used to like miles wei a lot in perfect and casual but this qiaoyan character i m sold. i think he acted so well. he facial expression especially. he really could bring out that character so well. smart and decisive, nerdish, cockiness, his feelings of joy, happiness, exasperation for her and xiaobao hahaha... i don get the usual unnecessarily stony cold ceo character at all like in other c dramas.

So they have confirmed their relationship in these 4 episode. 

@tofu yes madam. hahaha...i will report once i get through tonight 4 episode. from the teaser it seems the separation will happen ep 16. there are prob some misunderstanding of her thinking his client or shareholder as a peeping tom and plus xiao bao is starting to talk. she prob felt very out of place in his world with that aunt and ling gal just would not stop reminding her.  actually i hope that is the only separation cause there is only 24 episodes and if it happens early we still have chances of good 5-6 episodes of get back and be lovely together. rather it happen now then ep 23 hahaha.....

Yes the car accident is baffling me. but i think that aunt of his is not so simple. she must be hiding something. cause she was the one that dealt with all the accident aftermath and the driver goes missing and she is not concern?!! and Qiaoyan coma for 2 weeks and she was again the one who push him up to that position. i felt that he misses something in his memory of the accident. it is very confusing. and my bafflement is he went out later and why is xiao bao still in the wreck. if qiaoyan got a call and rush out, why would it not be xiao bao already been rescued by the authority. indeed, we hope to get some clarification.

but from the teaser, the aunt already guess it is yiyue who saves xiaobao and looks like she will hide that from qiao yan. i really dislike her power craziness. so He family must give up their lifes for the shareholders. the way she talks to qiaoyan is so unfair. u must be perfect because Heshi needs u. like he only exist to churn profit for them all. i really want to ask her, if qiaoyan refuses to run the company, who else can she go bug. she is really pushing him to the limit.

enjoy the weekend of watching 11-14. those were enjoyable episodes. love these 2 leads.

Haha, same! I think when you start enjoying the company of someone, you find yourself doing things you'd never imagined yourself doing. Qianyan is really strict on himself and even Xiaobao. It's good to see him let loose a bit. 

 

I find myself trying to reconnect the dots and figuring out the timeline again because of the editing too. I'm hoping that it gets a bit better in the later episodes because the flow of the story is very much part of the experience when watching a drama.

All the familiar names are here. hello everyone!!!!

i came to this drama for Hu yixuan whom i really love from her sleepless princess and Miles Wei who is so nice to watch in perfect and casual. So far on 12th monday they released another 4 episodes and so total 14 in total but i think not all subbed.

Totally loving it so far. Yiyue character is so adorable. She loves kids, have tonnes of patience for them but she is clumsy in other part of her life. She did the warm and kind and forgiving character very well.  I think for a few times he protected in the earlier episodes 1-6, she started to find him decent and a fair person especially in deleting the ex name from the award. So she entered to the contract marriage because she is starting to get attached to Xiaobao, he is pretty decent and of course she lost that 15 carat pigeon egg size pear shape diamond ring. my, it does cost a bomb!!!!! i have a feeling 3 mil could be an undervalue hahahaaha......i really love the way she gets him to do things he normally would not do at all like eating instant noodles, snacks, chips, sticking stickers all over the house..etc. But ep 11 onwards, i think she has fallen for him alright. but she still tries to remind herself she is just his employee. she treats her jealousy as just herself being nosy and busybody and her concern for him as being she is kind to Xiaaboa dad.

Qiao yan oh boy...i think he is not a cold CEO typical in c drama. He is just a NERD who loves maths. As a parent who is more prompt to science and maths, ie logic and reasoning, i could relate to those character. yes kids are not logical but at those moment u just cannot understand why they are being so illogical and u want them to think in a way of problem solving not tearing and tantruming. many sentences he used i would say that to my gal...such as...i say this before, u are a smart gal...u dont need me to repeat it again....i really lol when i hear Qiao yan says that. And my God....i had such a good laugh over how he behaves as dad on first day to school. Yi yue behaviour is normal..anxious and want to follow right to the classroom door to see if he is handling well. Qiao yan n his war designed schoolbag and those bino, telescope...lol...but mind u he is just 6 and autistic. so very fair to super worry. And 75 mil usd to go to the moon is like a pail of cold water dunking onto two persons having fun with their imagination running wild.....

and i like what @Tofu says i love the way he address her as his wife, fu ren, tai tai, qi zi. i think since episode 4 after Ning Fan come onto scene, we can see Qiao yan being jealous but he thought it was lack of oxygen. since episode 3 after the camping conversation he already find her nice and kind but at the moment it was good enough. he doesnt care what name was filled in the spouse column as long as that is what his son wants. but he started to get jealous, started to compromise and find himself getting harder to resist their requests and he is ultra protective over the 2 of them. he is already a goner by ep 5 i bet. and of course he doesnt realise it. but he address her as his wife in front of everyone with or without her there. IF he only treat her like ur employee..he will instinctively call her as Dr Qin esp in front of his other staffs. he always used wife. And i must watched the episode 9 like 5x when he told off the exbf and his mean current gf. that is so manly.omg..he says, it doesnt matter what is in front of her..tripping stone or 5 finger mountain (monkey from west trapped under that mountain),he will razor it flat off for her. she is forgiving of all ur actions but i will not allow u guys bullying her.

And of course the xiao bao is the treasure of this show. he is Super Adorable and good looking. and so far he is only required to say mommy, look angsty sometimes and flash his sweet smiles. but i think 99% of the audience have fallen for him. And he is so smart. cracking password, understand that who is stranger danger - when mommy says show daddy ur school, he showed daddy pic of mommy with another guy....this two father son team is so irresistible and how do u win them....hahaha.....i can see so many times, Qiao yan just purposely throw xiaobao to yiyue and walk off with a smile. i think he knows she cant resist Xiaobao. he smartly caught her weakness.

by the way, the drama stated accident happens on his birthday and he has been flashing his card saying he is 6. so it was his first birthday cause that was 5 years ago. now i am just thinking what would be the landmine of the drama. the 3rd female lead and the aunty seems to the antagonists here. but the ling wei gal look a bit mentally sick because she needs medication from ning fan as a psychiatrist. and the mystery remains that brother, sis in law and xiao bao was in one accident. then Qiao yan went out because hospital called and he too got in an accident and saw a lady with taking a child away. why isnt Xiao bao in hospital d at that point when Qiao yan was in accident. Drama already explain it was Yiyue who saves Xiao bao and he recognise that smell even though he doesnt recall what happen..he was 1 yo anyway. and yiyue friend confirmed that she save a kid in accident and cannot be a surgeon anymore. but both sides dont know anything yet. so i am really really curious what could break them up. hopefully no major breakups or really illogical misunderstanding.

the only bug i find annoying is the editing. choppy in some parts. and i hate it when they seems to mess up the timeline. she says xiao bao birthday is 2 days later. then weekend they plan birthday, she says weekend she is free. then she got feverish and need to go to work. so isnt that a monday d. And the recent one as well...Rou wei send xiaoboa home and xiaoyan find out that her dad is sick. before that he had a meeting at 8pm so i assume it was well over 10pm. did they end up in hospital immediately cause all the clothes look the same but Qiaoyan says he need to send xiaoboa to school and he looked at his phone is says 820. then he appear with wanton for super and ling lady message says he has been in office whole day. hmmmm.....i m picking hahaha....

Actually, I find a lot of Chinese dramas have these little nationalistic toss away lines in their script lines.  Given the military theme of this one it’s to be even more expected.  Plus, summer time is always a time when we see more China-pride dramas given the CCP’s anniversary date in July.  This year is an especially big anniversary date for China, so it’s not really a surprise we’d see all the propaganda.

Funny thing is i imagine majority of audiences who watch this are ladies. So after watching lmz n the promotional shots of hjy, will there be a upwards trend in ladies liking military men n asking their bf go to be soldiers haha... Everyone want lmz, ty n luo liang. 

Yipee... I think i will slowly watch ep 32 to ending. 

I saw the clip when lmz was injured in the camp n he told xc that when he told he knew he was a goner when he fell asleep completely offguard besides her. I always love to know the ah haa moment for the leads haha... So happy here they gave it to us. Its the moment he came home drunk during luo liang death anniversary n he fell asleep so offguard she took a photo of him. No wonder next morning when he lip read she cant even date a military man he was behaving like a guy throwing tantruns when xc asked him to go see psychiatrist n in xj room, dr zhang asked what they r doing q that board game, he answered planning next move haha... This lmz.

and based on the deployment places that they show us in the drama....no they cannot bring the family

Are they redeploy to near borders since lauye will kidnap xc n he is active at border. 

But they still hv holidays n contact family right. But that would long distance. Is that what they r worried about as they cannot be in one city location anymore. Cause the story make xc consider the redeployment really hard. 

Anyone know what is w redeployment? I mean they shift to amother base but does that mean they cannot contact family? Cant family go w them?

I suggest they let certain fans preview script to balance their sadistic nature out haha... Drag on till 30 episode to confirm on them is pretty bad d. While along the way so many sad torturing scenes for ppl around them. Only n i say the only good thing is they dont do sadistic things to the two main leads. No major heartbreaks, fallong out nor major stupid misunderstanding btw the two. Only prob is Just like hjy says they too muoji.. (dragging their feet). 

30 episodes to confirm the relationship. This screen writer really very sadistic. Killing ppl off unnecessarily, scrapping ppl out w hepa B ( ##xx#! $#@), pathetic migu n that stupid assistant, tang. He has got the heart to do that to xc dad when his teacher has been kind n protective of him. N he create creepo n thar ugly sidekick. Arrrgghhhh....

Migu is still hopeless as ever. I can really see that when it comes to men, her relationship w xc will be swept aside. Py n zr are twins..one follow dad n one follow mum. Creepo is.....??? PY more likely as zr known by xc should be a nice n sunny boy. Xc says zr is healthy. N creepo like to refer zr as 3rd person..
