  1. @abs-oluteM This is definitely an exaggerated depiction (or not, not a chaebol here 😞). We haven't been given full insights as to what really happened. Whilst the lot celebrated the birthday, Grace was up to something else and we see cameras turned off, and people were moving things in boxes. They stole the family's valuable items. Paintings on the walls were all gone. Eun Sung robbed them. The news also reported investigation is going on they can't leave the country, so I also suspect their personal funds are currently frozen. If not, Hyun Woo might have asked them not to touch it because once they touch it, they can be found by all the vultures who wants a piece of them.

  2.

Again, I really love the use of Vincenzo's BGM when Song Joong Ki came out of the elevator. 😆 I really don't want to say it but Vincenzo (SJK) is a scene stealer, stealing the thunder from Kim Soo Hyun. LOL! For a moment my heart strayed towards Vincenzo and by SJK's deep voice. Mianhe, Oppa Soo Hyun. Hahaha!

  3. Last episode was a cry fest. This episode was a mixture of laughs and tears. I laughed so much at Hyun Woo and Yang Gi cower in fear of our infamous Vincenzo Cassano. I didn't realise one of Queen of Tears' PD was Vincenzo's PD, allowing a delightful reprisal of our beloved character. Loved the return of Vincenzo's BGM. Song Joong Ki's cameo is considered long, yet didn't come across as an unnecessary filler. Hiring someone like Vincenzo aligns well with Hae In's style. 😆 It was a lovely reunion between Joong Ki and Ji Won, too. I had good fun with this Vincenzo cameo. Not only that, Netizens pointed out the divorce is a realistic portrayal of KEnt's divorce announcement. @ssteph Song Joong Ki's deep voice is so ❤️.

I’m pleased that the proposal occurred in the past, especially since some Netizens speculated that this scene might be from the future. I didn't think the couple needed another proposal scene such as this. Hyun Woo’s innocence and gullibility during that time are quite amusing, which is why Hae In still trust him. In the epilogue, it's good to know she regained her desire to live is rooted in love rather than hatred.

Aunt Beom Ja’s sobbing like a child had me in tears, but her emotions were relatable. Always the favored one, never having faced physical punishment, she had been her daddy’s precious little princess. However, Moh Seul Hee’s presence has shaken her position within the family. Regardless of age, the wounded heart still aches all the same.

Eun Sung’s memories were a surprise, as I didn't believe he harbours genuine feelings for Hae In. I dislike this development, because that means the villain can become weak, or worse, at risk of being whitewashed later. Moh Seul Hee seems to disapprove of this as well, seeing she doesn't allow Eun Sung to sit beside Hae In at the birthday banquet.

I like how this show breaks away from the typical K-drama structure, adding an element of unpredictability and anticipation. With the whole family in Yongdori, I anticipate chaotic and comedic scenes ahead—closer to Park Ji Eun's style in previous dramas. However, I hope it doesn’t become overly ridiculous, as I appreciate the current pacing. I appreciate the rom-com, but if we could see Hyun Woo and Hae In collaborate using Eun Sung’s tactics to reclaim the Queens would be a bonus. It’s also a golden opportunity to change Omma’s perception of Hyun Woo. While I didn’t want the divorce to happen, now that it has, Hyun Woo has no obligation to help the family. Yet, he remains, showing Omma his genuine and sincere side.

Felt like this show made so much references to the actors' past dramas, when I see the camper van, I even thought whether that's paying homage to It's Okay Not to Be Okay 😅

Lastly, I'm stoked with the rating! 16.143% at episode 8. Genuinely wishing the show can withhold this interesting pacing until the very end 🙏🏻! If it keeps on increasing by ~2% every even episode, we could be looking at 22–24% :pandaangel:

  4. The scene where Hae In's dad and the spies reporting on Hyun Woo was probably meant to be comedic, but I find it very informative for Hae In and dad to get to know him better. Though, I was crying instead, feeling sorry for Hyun Woo. I'm glad Hae In is doing all the background checks on him, because I want her to "link" up all the information Hyun Woo previously told her about himself, that he's been crying a lot. I clocked that the PA reported to her, he goes to car wash a lot, and we know that is another place Hyun Woo goes to hide himself and cry... 😭

My other heart-wrenching moment was when Hae In and Hyun Woo bumped into one another and Hae In tells Hyun Woo she'll hate him till she dies. Next we know, she has a memory lapse and she only remembers her love for Hyun Woo. 😭

I really like the little things Hyun Woo does for Hae In and not taking any credit or showing off. It's usually those quiet, unknown little gesture that makes it more touching, and only us audiences get the privilege to know about...

What are we to do with these two...? I almost wish the next episode starts with Hyun Woo and Hae In sleeping in the same bed hugging each other. LOL. But I'm sure this is just a temporary memory loss, and she'll be back to herself again. I'm looking forward to next episode because it seems like Hae In is checking out the places Hyun Woo visits and trying to figure him out. In the process, they were in the same restaurant and sitting back to back without Hyun Woo knowing. The text preview mentioned Hae In will learn about Hyun Woo's heart.

Soo Cheol may be dimwitted, but I like learning that he has some positive traits, too. It's sweet that he wants to be the father that show his son how to ride a bike, etc.

  5. I've dropped this drama. This isn't the kind of drama I want from Kim Nam Joo, and I cannot handle episode after episode of crying.

Kwon Sun Yool (Cha Eun Woo) is the son of the man Eun Soo Hyun (Kim Nam Joo) had killed. And the woman that was captured on camera with Eun Ho is indeed Yuri (Im Se Mi). It happened when Soo Hyun was pushing Eun Ho away, and Eun Ho was drinking his sorrow confessing his pain to Yuri.

It was not really that hard to guess who the woman is to be honest. Casting her means she has to play someone impactful to the main leads, and that's exactly it.

  6. There were a lot of flaws or loopholes in this week's episodes. For example, how is it that anybody can enter the Chairman's office at any time of the day whenever they want? Where's the security? Knowing In Ha is capable of murder, as smart as the Chairman, he doesn't even think to put some bodyguards around him?

Also, I don't even get why Tae Oh would look so shocked that In Ha was about to end his own father's life. LOL! Dude, he killed his own brother and a woman, and wanted you dead too!

This kind of former student - former teacher storyline always concerns me.

PD Ahn likes these kinds of storylines. I will sit out on this one because I didn't like One Spring Night and Something in the Rain.

I just hope they don't have anymore toxic boyfriend/girlfriend or parents.

Imagine me right now -  every single oppa love of mine in all the 3 kdramas I'm watching are the villains. This is the problem - I always like all these actors that tend to take on such roles.

Is that Lee Jun Young, Park Sung Hoon and Jang Seung Jo? But wait, I don't dislike Jun or Lee Jun Hyuk in their villain roles, though.

  9. Pre-release

I'm glad Hyun Woo is well-prepared facing Haraboji, but arghhhhh, Eun Seong is watching means whatever Hyun Woo prepared he'll be able to counterstrike or planned something else! They need to discover the spy cam quick!!!

@Chocolate Incest → Korea's favourite makjang of all time. I actually thought about this as well, and thought Eun Seong is psychotic enough to do anything to be honest. And it's not like he is marrying her for love. He just want a foot into the family. Honestly don't know if Grace and/or Da Hye know about him and Mo Seul Hee enough when they joined him.

Now my most curious question is... how far will he go? Will he kill to get what he wants?

@abs-oluteM Your Oppa is too annoying and evil here I cannot stand the sight of him every single time he appears. He's doing a fantastic job for making me feel this way, though, but 🥹🥹🥹 too hateful to appreciate him.

Out of curiosity though - are chaebol families in Korea so young? Only 3 generations long with the first being a rags-to-riches generation?

Google says Doohan Group is 4th generation. From watching Exhuma recently, there are also chaebols who gained their riches from being traitor during WW2.

I think so. When I first started watching kdramas a few years ago, I was surprised that modern Korea is so young! The korean war was actually relatively recent in 1950 and it was only in the 1960s that SK started to modernise although still with authoritarian leadership. I still remember the days when we in Singapore bought Samsung and Hyundai because they were the cheapest appliances and cars. And I read articles on how Samsung consciously moved from price to design over time. SK's growth has been amazing in just 60 years.

I thought there will be older chaebol families, those from the Kim clan from Joseon dynasty. The Kim clan gathered a lot of riches when they became the strongest clan during certain time period. Maybe lost it during WW2 to the Japanese. Or they are in NK. Hahaha!

And so now, never say that dramas don't teach you anything 🤣.

Hahaha! I definitely won't disagree with this. I feel like I've learnt a lot from watching TV, including languages. But I have known people who doesn't learn after watching TV all their life.

Is grandpa's girlfriend part of EunSeung's gang?

Yes, she is. She picks up the chess piece, held it in her hand, drops it and found the spying device. Who does that when playing chess? You're not supposed to let your opponent know your next move, and she held the chess piece in her hand for at least 15-30s.

Not only that, the wild boar incident made everyone believes the Shaman is for real. We all know once someone believes in this sort of thing, you're bound to be under that person's control. If Hyun Woo didn't intercept, Eun Seong would have been the one saving Hae In/everyone. Like everyone's else, Grace underestimated Hyun Woo since he hasn't hunted a soul for the last 3 years. Hyun Woo is the wild card in the family because he appears meek and opted not to show off his skills. Kim Soo Hyun and Park Sung Hoon both said there are many twists in the drama, so I look forward to that—hopefully it's not a lie (because Jun Young said he's a good guy in Impossible Heir, and he's not).

Could she be his mother since apparently she had a child before this? As to Soo Cheol's child, I think the wifey wouldn't be able to fake the pregnancy but maybe he is not the dad.

At the moment, I believe Eun Seong is her and CEO's love child. Otherwise, it doesn't explain why they would target Queens with so much dignity as if they deserve to be part of the riches. Note that there's a family rule where the baby need to perform DNA test. This must mean a lot of affairs happened in the family, and people to come to the door claiming the babies are Queens. Maybe those illegitimate ones are not accepted into the family. Another possibility would be like My Demon where the riches were obtained in exchange of someone's death e.g., Mo Seul Hee's husband.

Soo Cheol's son is 99.999% not his. Da Hye and Grace exchanged a glance when the doubt was raised, and Grace was the one assuring DNA test was conducted. With their meticulous planning, they could totally pull it off.

    Spoiler

KSR - now there's report saying her acquaintance said she was trying to show off to her friends. 🙄 I had a chat with two Gen MZ and both were saying how they wouldn't want to beat their kids and traumatise them like they were traumatised. But I feel some kids need to smack some sense into them so they behave and understand. LOL.
