  1. @mademoiselle Great! Ep 1 and 2 are a bit slower than the rest. So persevere ok? Also don't see any spoilers, but quite difficult now already if you are on twitter sadly. I think there are some Japanese dramas on Netflix but not many. I'll try the Japanese one when I have time.
  2. @mademoiselle You're not watching? It's not just pure games and quite different from Alice in Borderland. It's also not a psychological thriller. The games are simple but the solution can be quite amazing. There's quite a fair bit about relationship and emotions. Quite balanced. And the acting is good. Plus it's got that Lee Chang Jin guy from Beyond Evil - you just want to slap him haha! I saw you mention Liar Game and I am on the last episode now.
  3. ‘Squid Game’ Soars To #1 On Netflix, And Is A Must-Watch Sep 21, 2021,09:50am EDT | Paul Tassi - Senior Contributor Squid Game | NETFLIX If you told me a Korean drama where people compete in murderous children’s games would become the number one offering on Netflix in the US, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But that’s what Squid Game has just accomplished, unseating Sex Education season 3 for the top spot, and securing itself as what may be Netflix’s most popular Korean series ever. Netflix is no stranger to Korean productions, as they’ve aired many over the past few years, most of which have been quite good, from historical zombie thriller The Kingdom to North Korean romantic comedy, Crash Landing on You. The most popular Korean series before this may have been the apocalyptic Sweet Home, but it seems like Squid Game is taking the top honors. The show is massively popular on social media, trending with 200,000 plus tweets dissecting the ins and outs of the nine episode series, which pits desperate competitors against one another in kids’ games where the stakes are life and death. I previously compared it to a more murderous version of the hit game Fall Guys, where players survive rounds of goofy games to try and become the last man standing. But in many ways, Squid Game reminds me of Battle Royale, the Japanese “schoolchildren fight to the death on an island” film based on a book that launched a thousand imitators and an entire genre of video games. Squid Game is an excellent series, and not just for the shock value of its gore and mayhem. Everything from the art direction (the PlayStation button jumpsuits of the guards to the MC Escher staircase leading to the events) to the performances. Episode six in particular, Gganbu, is one of the best TV episodes I’ve seen of any show this year, an emotional powerhouse that left me on the floor by the end. Is a season 2 in the cards? With how successful the show currently is, and how it ends on a pretty clear cliffhanger, I’d say it’s a no-brainer to return for another installment. It should be no surprise that in theory, there could easily be another game with new contestants, although at least one major character would be likely to carry over, one of the few who survives the events of the first season. You’ll see what I mean once you watch it. I highly recommend Squid Game to almost everyone. Yes, it’s weird and violent, but it’s a powerful production full of stellar performances, memorable characters and creative twists and turns. I love seeing offbeat hits like this on Netflix, and successful foreign productions, and Squid Game just so happens to be both. Source
  4. Sorry @TRaNz didn't mean to offend. It was a genuine question. I wouldn't know whether to stay in or go out. Stay safe.
  5. Just read about the earthquake in Melbourne. Glad you guys are ok. Is that the correct procedure - get out of the house? In movies, they always hide underneath a table 🤔

  9. Yes this. I hope they explain it during the course of the drama, because it doesn't make sense for now. It's such a big disadvantage not to have memories in an investigation. In addition, there is obviously someone that the old Ji Hyuk has arranged to release information to the current JH - who can this be? Re NGM's body, was it really necessary to bulk up so much? There was mention that there were signs of torture, so it would seem he was kidnapped before he escaped/was released. Shouldn't a person have lost weight in that period? Personally, I think he is too top-heavy. He has a smallish build compared to many Korean actors. But anyway, it's not really important to the story so whatever makes the actor and director happy is fine 🥰 Re suspects, I think likely none of these 4 is the one 😆 And do you notice that in k-dramas, they like to stick photos/draw relationship charts on the wall and back of the cupboard 😂 It's now the first place I would look 🤣

  12. Squid Game: 9 Questions That We Need Answered In Season 2 SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 Like you, we too spent most of Friday binging on Netflix’s latest K-drama, Squid Game. It was 485 minutes of great television, and the show’s nine episodes were a harrowing, white-knuckled ride that left us both emotionally and intellectually spent. It also left us with quite a few questions. The ending, while complete and satisfying, definitely leaves the door open for a second season (and more). God knows that finale had us incredibly excited to further explore this world that Hwang Dong-hyuk has created. Here now, are nine questions that we need answering for the inevitable Squid Game, Season 2. Source: goggler.my

  15. Apparently, this is her debut. 'Squid Game' director "Jung Ho-yeon, eyes, looks, and voice itself" Article input 2021.09.20. 2:53 PM [Ten Asia = Reporter Shin So-won] Intense acting Shin-go-style Do you have a premonition as soon as you see the overwhelming scale Jung Ho-yeon / Photo = Courtesy of Netflix Actor Jung Ho-yeon is gathering hot topics by making a strong acting declaration ceremony through the Netflix series 'Squid Game'. Jung Ho-yeon announced her start as an actress through the Netflix series 'Squid Game' (written by Hwang Dong-hyuk), which was released on the 17th. 'Squid Game' is a drama that tells the story of people who participated in a mysterious survival game with a prize of 45.6 billion won, risking their lives to become the final winner, and challenging the extreme game. has garnered a lot of public attention. Jung Ho-yeon took on the role of Dawn, a defector in 'Squid Game'. Dawn is a defector in a desperate situation who needs a lot of money for his family, and has lived a rough life as a pickpocket. His hair stretched out and his eyes that seemed to be wary of others gave us an idea of what kind of life Dawn lived, and his dry and calm voice seemed to represent the loneliness of Dawn even in the tense game. Jeong Ho-yeon performed passionately from the tense psychological warfare to the rough hand-to-hand combat, revealing her own presence among veteran actors such as Lee Jung-jae and Park Hae-soo. The process by which Jung Ho-yeon joined 'Squid Game' also drew attention. As soon as Director Hwang Dong-hyuk saw Jeong Ho-yeon among the many audition participants, he had a foreboding, saying, "I thought this friend would take on the role." "The person I was looking for was in the video," and "Eyes, appearance, and voice were the dawn that I was looking for." Interest and favorable reviews for Jeong Ho-yeon, who has successfully completed her acting ceremony by showing a strong presence as much as a bold and unconventional work, are expected to continue for the time being. The attention is focused on what kind of acting activities Jung Ho-yeon will carry out in the future, who has proven her growth potential as an actress by perfectly drawing the dawn with a unique presence among characters full of personality and acting skills that are not like a rookie. Meanwhile, 'Squid Game' starring Jung Ho-yeon can be found on Netflix. Source
