  1. Thanks @bluepebbles for the location post. Aahhh so pretty, SK is so pretty. They're able to finely preserve historic structures. "The Playground of the Gods" is such a strong title for a place. The lantern kiss scene ultimately had me wondering if it was an actual place or just produced for the show. Hye-Sun is soooo fun, I always get excited when she's in the scene. I love how she "kept an eye" on Lee Dam. 😆 And of course the almost-kiss that happened between her and Jae-Jin. It's funny how Jae-Jin thinks it's normal that she doesn't understand cause she just moved back to Korea. 😄😄 Also, strong words to have a foxy lady say "on Saturday, he's mine". I really wish that will make the other girl shut-up for good. I'm surprised that the evil spirit scenario was resolved so quickly. I wonder if that's really the end of it. One other thing that got shot down quickly was Tiger Sunbae... Things didn't even last for an episode for him. Symptom check: how to know if you're having SLS?
  2. @Sominah the whispering video is so cute. ♥️ Is she guesting in My Little Old Boy? I really liked her cameo in MRIAG. Especially since we only knew of the first one in the Joseon period. The modern day one was a pleasant surprise. To me it looked like she was glowing. 😄😄 And thank you for your updates. ♥️
  3. Oh shoot. True, I somehow skimmed through @Sominahpost when I tried to look back about SLS. 😄😄 Maybe cause SilverMoonTea brought it up @SilverMoonTea (Gah, sorry for the weird format, I can't seem to edit around the tags on mobile) True. And we do know who can bring that to him. Young-Won in contrast goes to make even that shitty room she first moved into as homely as she can. I can't believe she even painted the walls right after moving in. 😄😄 But even that room is more of a place to live in than Ja-Sung's penthouse.
  4. [Ep 1] First off, here's some scenes/details that I liked from the first episode: Young-Won's toes easing up when he saw Ja-Sung was such a funny detail for me. It was absolutely unnecessary, but had so much impact. 🤣🤣 I also like the first time they see each other. It really shows the disparity between Ja-Sung and Young-Won's current status in life. Ja-Sung standing proud and tall, Young-Won literally on the floor clinging for her life. Kim Ji-Suk really nailed Ja-Sung's look in this scene while he was watching Young-Won eat. Even though ultimately, treating her to this restaurant was jus a tactic to get her out of the house while the movers cleared the house, Ja-Sung's look here made me feel that he can emphathize with Young-Won's situation because he's been through it before. Maybe that's why he ordered the extra pork slices even if he didn't have to. This is a big gesture especially since we see how frugal he is from the rest of the episode. Bonus: I chuckled at this scene between Ui-Joo and Sang-Soon. I know a little bit about the mechanical keyboard hobby, so I totally get what happened here. [Ep 2] You know, I'm really appreciating what they're trying to do with this show. It's like a lecture on life and adulting disguised as a romcom. First it teaches us a bit about investing in real estate and how earning through investing (in general) is different from earning through a salaried job. This episode it teaches us about saving. The key points here about saving are things that you'll hear from actual investing tips - be it from books, well known financial gurus, or anywhere from the internet. I'm someone that has looked into it before and have actually applied (and failed... but still trying) it on my spending habits. This show is a good reminder for me. Maybe for other people out there that hasn't given a close look at their spending habits before, this show might offer some actual real life tips. Maybe not entirely, especially since they just scratch the surface... but making someone realize that they're actually spending more than they need can be helpful to some. Maybe they'll be dealing with different life lessons for each episode? Maybe each episode of Ja-Sung's videos will be played in relation to the theme of the actual episode. The scene with Young-Won in the bank really hits home. It really does feel like that when they try and explain something to you. It really goes to show how difficult it is to understand the financial world. Different mindset for money are also shown in contrast, as @abs-oluteM mentioned already. I'm sure we will all identify in some way with one or more of the characters' way of handling money. Sidenote: the chairs that Shin bought don't look comfy at all for me. 😂 I kinda disliked the scenes with Sang-Soon this episode. Sure, it was added for laughs, but it just really made me feel so anxious. I don't think I'll ever be take someone seriously if they pressure you to give back their "gift". He even had the nerve to ask it back from his CEO. When Sang-Soon did go into Ja-Sung's office, I immediately thought why Ja-Sung isn't helping his employees that much, especially with his work and how he even does those videos. He doesn't need to meddle, but at least he can give some tips. I'm sure he even has good connections to help his employees find a house, after all that's what they do. The part where they had Young-Won narrate her life story, but they used Ja-Sung's flashback, was a nice touch. Gotta say, the way Young-Won does her monologues towards the end of the episodes is really giving me BTIMFL vibes. Speaking of ending, second episode and there's already great progress between the characters. I liked that Ja-Sung aka "Dragon" was the first to respond to Young-Won. I wonder how much they'll be interacting through that site and how long he'll hide his identity. @abs-oluteM I think you mismentioned @Sominah for @SilverMoonTea 😂😂 With how much both Ja Sung and Shin got close to Young Won already, and with your explanation about the writer's past work, it looks like the love triangle will be pretty strong in this show compared to other shows where it's heavily sided on the main lead. Exciting stuff. 😁
  5. Yey! Finally, our long wait is over! I feel like I've waited so long even before its original air date in March. But yes, it's finally here! 🎉🎉🎉 From the very opening of the first episode, they already tackle the harsh reality of how the average working class citizen is bound to get stuck because of the measly salary increase, while the rich get richer through capital gains from their investments - in this case, housing and real estate. The opening really set the tone for me, especially with the infographics about the wages of different salary jobs in contrast with how much the value of real estate properties went up in just a couple of years. This gives us a general idea of Ja Sung's mindset and how he views housing as just a means to gain more wealth So far, Ja Sung's character isn't that bad. Because of his introduction, he didn't really come to me as too much of a jerk since his actions are somewhat justified. Yes, he can be stern and demanding, but already in the first episode, he's shown to have a heart. At least he's not one of those spoiled CEOs that is rich because of inherited wealth, or one that's overly lavish, or one that's just really really bad to his employees. So this'll be a bit different from the usual rich CEO main lead trope, which is a nice. I'm loving the rest of the cast as well. It's a relief that it seems that there won't be office politics and no hazing of any sort. NYW knowing Eui Joo and actually being close to her is a welcome surprise. NYW even has a fan among the juniors. Editor in chief Choi Go is exactly what I expected, and Sang Soon who'll probably be the most skeptical among them, isn't bad either. Shin Gyeom seems nice and I certainly didn't expect his character to be introduced like that. Him being close with Ja Sung is a surprise as well which will be a pretty interesting dynamic of relationships. WGJ might actually be a place I feel like I'd enjoy working at, compared to all the other workplaces portrayed in dramas, based on ep 1 at least 😄😄 And Young Won. Aahhhhh. I love her already.♥️ She's very feisty, passionate and determined. I can't believe she's challenged Ja Sung this much already. I laughed so hard when her toes eased up the first time she saw Ja Sung. 😄😄 It's funny that a couple of So Min's shows really has housing as the driving force of the plot. She's always getting evicted at the start and reaching rock bottom. Ja Sung giving Young Won an apartment unit gave me mini goosebumps. Too much of Came to Me and Became a Star vibes. 😄 At least this time she accepts the unit and looks like she'll actually be moving in. Anyway. I really enjoyed the first episode. Looking forward to the next one! 🏠😁
  6. At least he can use "it's been so long since I last dated" as an excuse 😆😆 Hmm. I think they're (gumihos) actually known for their seduction skills or even have it as a supernatural ability. Maybe everyone else before "wanted" them, but actually liking and loving is unknown to him. But you know what mildly irks me in this drama? How Woo-Yeo loves his instant coffee. 😄😄😄 At least they chose to make it a more classy instant coffee. I don't mind the PPL. It's just that I think it would suit him better as a pour over coffee kinda guy. 😄 He has lived so long, why rush his coffee? But well, maybe that instant coffee is just sooo good that even a being that doesn't really eat and drink like humans still partake. I don't hate it, its just that I feel like it would have been much much cooler if he spends his sweet time brewing his coffee or even tea. 😄 Everything else about him has actually sold to me that he's a near 1000 year old being, especially with the way he talks.
  7. I absolutely agree! Them having to suddenly work at a construction site (a pretty big one at that) was so random. 😆 Who knew that getting a job was that easy? The foreman never cared for them, and just rescued HK from injury cause you know... Liabilities and stuff. 😄 But them going through all this just to learn their lesson was a bit of a stretch. But I dunno, I can sort of see it happening as a scenario in an anime/comics so I'm thinking it's the direction they're going for. I also laughed towards the end when Han-Sol left HK and SY. Just to get that short moment between the two, they had Han-Sol decide to walk off alone at night BECAUSE her phone ran out of battery. 😄😄 In real life, that's like exactly what you're not supposed to do. 😆
  8. New character stills from JTBC. ♥️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CQKdv6nlB4w/?utm_medium=copy_link
  9. 😂😂 For some reason, I didn't get past episode 1 (or maybe at least 2?) of that show. Only checked it out cause of JSM and SIG's cameo. Thanks for trying to explain it to me. I guess the overall plot is a bit "passive" and there's no real rush. Like, there's a deadline for TDK, but we're not scrambling to achieve something each episode. I've been watching without really digging too deep, and still I've made it all the way to ep 10 (haven't watched this week's eps yet). There's just something calming and chill with the show and the characters. I know there's supernatural aspects to the show, but I feel that the characters are very human and relatable, even for the deities. Maybe that's why it still works for me. LOL. I laughed during this scene too. But well, he is a supposed to be a foreigner that lives in Canada so... So maybe that's actually how it will be if it's someone's first time in Korea or anywhere else not speaking their own language. 😅😅
  10. @abs-oluteM @Sominah thank you both for the updates!! So excited! 🎉🎉 I enjoyed their guesting on Knowing Bros. As always, I really want to see SoMin more on variety shows. She and Ji-Seok did have cute little moments, so I'm looking forward to their chemistry again in the show. What surprised me the most was Chae Jung-An. I actually don't know who she is, but I thought she'd be a bit demure and serious, but she's actually quite the opposite. Her antics actually remind of Jang Do-Yeon in some ways. In her stills and some of her parts in the teasers, I feel like she'll be the somewhat stern senior in the company, while Kim Won-Hae will be the 2nd in command but very comedic. So seeing her in Knowing Bros, I'm not sure now what to expect from her character. Maybe she'll actually be quite goofy too in contrast to what I assumed. Speaking of Kim Won-Hae, everytime I see him on screen just makes me smile. Especially when I didn't expect to see him in whatever drama. His character here might get a bit more screen time than the supporting roles I've seen him as, so this is another thing that I look forward to.
  11. I actually laughed at this as well. But I remembered that modern games, though more graphic intensive, they actually don't use as much data than we think. Did a quick search and Google says 40-300mb can be about an hour of gaming. I also remembered that I only use around 5GB of data per month. Even if I don't game on my phone, 300MB is still somehow a decent amount. This might be HUGE for these kids who's perception for money is still based on how much they can save from their allowance. 😆 Big gesture from Hae-Kang to do this. 😉 Is it just me? But I thought Woo-Chan looked similar to Jang Ki-Yong. Face shape and hair maybe? 😅
  12. [Ep 5] Yey! I'm glad that Hae-Kang and his dad are finally starting to take things seriously. I'm just glad that the sort of necessary arrogant and irresponsible phase is now hopefully done. This episode was now more pleasant to watch for me. 😅 I should really stop being over critical, but the doubles match conflict between Hae-Kang and Bang felt kinda forced since they were actually just starting to get along. Felt like a one step forward, two steps back kind of thing, but I guess that's how it really is sometimes. What confused me at first was what Bang's realization was, that even his dad caught it... If I understand correctly, according to Yong-Tae's (or was it Woo-Chan?) explanation, the opponents shots are usually directed to the weaker side. At first most shots were directed towards Hae-Kang, but towards the end, most of the shots were directed at Bang, which made him realize and accept that he was no longer the ace. If this is correct, then it's nice for me since I've actually haven't seen it done like this before. I was expecting them to find out who was better by seeing each other's skill, or maybe they'll get in sync by trusting each other, or something like that. But here, it was through their opponents on the receiving end of their shots did they get a sort of arbitration. And heeyy. We've got some pretty simple but cute love story development. Aawww these kids 🥲🥲. I didn't expect the whole mixed doubles though. Excited to see what kind of push-pull, give and take dynamic they'll be having, and how different it will be from Hae-Kang and Bang's team-up. Will they also have an ace conflict? Or maybe this time one of them will give way too much? Or will their chemistry just be so good right from the start and they'll just become the ultimate powerhouse? 😆
  13. [Ep 1-4]Ahh.. this show. I really want to watch this as a light, fun, stress-free show, but so far it's been a bit frustrating. No deal breakers, but just stuff that's been holding it back for me, even if I try my best not to be too critical on this kind of show. For me, the least interesting character is Hae-Kang. He's quite stubborn and arrogant which makes him annoying and unpleasant to watch. I know, I know, he's supposed to be a certain type of character, but for some reason, he's ticking me off in different ways. Maybe it's cause for me, Tang Joon-Sang (the actor) doesn't really feel like a good fit for this character. They're trying to portray Hae-Kang as cool and badass, but it's not really working for me, and the way they're trying to do it just makes him look the opposite... I dunno, he just looks whiny and arrogant with no justification. 🙄Which comes to my second point. I know we're only at the 4th episode so there's still tons of room for character development (which I believe after the ending of ep4, is just around the corner for Hae-Kang) but the way the show has gone so far, there's no real "justification" for Hae-Kang's attitude yet. Sure he was good at baseball, sure he was a legend at badminton when he was young, but right now he hasn't really done anything exceptional. I guess they just want to show how much he's uninterested in badminton at this stage. However, I would have been fine if he was just lazy and uninterested, but making him a bit of a bully just didn't fit for me. 🙃 Same goes for his dad. Like father, like son I guess. At the beginning he was sort of enthusiastic and I felt like he'll be bringing something special to the table, but he hasn't really done anything exceptional yet, and actually quite the opposite. He's been irresponsible and just doing this for money, not for the love of coaching. 🙄 But again, it seems that the next episode will be the turning point for the father and son, so yey! 🎉 With that said, all the other characters have been interesting and fun to watch. I won't touch up on this anymore just to keep it short(er). But yeah, its like the two characters above were the foil for all the other characters so far. 🤣🤣
  14. Hi! I believe it's my first time posting here. Honestly, I've been watching and reading here since ep 3 or 4, but I wanted to post when I've caught up or at least understood the plot more... but we're already at ep 10 and I'm still trying to grasp what the story is supposed to be. But since @mademoiselle says on quote below, I guess I'm not the only one confused. 😂 Even if I don't really understand the point of the story, and I've actually started watching this more on the background so I'm starting to miss more and more details, I've still managed to watch up till the latest episode (well, half of ep 10 actually 😂😂) I've found the concept to be nice and intriguing at least. YES!!! I really love his place and I've been wanting to post here right from the start just to say it. Love it... It's like Batman's cave if he lived in Korea or Japan, cold and cavernous with hint of warm tones. I think it's a place that will be nice to go to visit, but I can't imagine myself living there full time. 😅😅 Maybe if it was scaled down a little bit, like only sections of the house has unfinished stone walls just to get that "cave" feel and then it'll lead to sections that are more cozy and has that hygge vibe. I've always want to have a place with interior plants and foliage, but not necessarily an interior garden, and I think it'll fit with this somehow. Anyway. 😅😅 I've seen SIG from The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, and his character there is basically the same, only here he's omnipotent, so he can act more like he doesn't give a damn... but he does. 😂
  15. [EP 5-6] Remember Jung Ba-Reum? 🤣🤣 I do hope she won't be, but I feel like there's an ulterior motive as to why she's helping Woo-Yeo. Woo-Yeo himself has questioned her multiple times already. If she does have an ulterior motive, hopefully it'll be something light or even comical. I'm also confused what converting from a gumiho to a human entails. It seems she still has her gumiho senses but can no longer do any magic. Yey! It finally arrived! To be honest, this (JSM's cameo) was the main reason I checked out this drama 😂😂 but I'm really glad I've come to enjoy the show from the very first episode. I thought it will be just a real quick cameo, but its actually quite a bit of screen time - and potentially longer cause of the modern-day appearance in the preview, which is a very pleasant surprise! ❤❤ I still don't understand how the marble works though... Does it become blue just by gathering x amount of human energy? If it turns blue, does it save the human currently holding it? Does the gumiho need to learn to love as the final step to become a human? My current understanding is that Woo-Yeo only realized he was in love with So-Min's character only after he took back the marble, so it never turned blue. He then shut himself from love ever since. When the marble accidentaly transfered to Lee Dam, it already started turning blue from the beginning, even before they started getting to know each other and develop feelings. So maybe it's because Woo-Yeo has already learned how to love in the past, or because Lee Dam is the descendant of So-Min's character, or both. With this though, I'm really curious to know how Hye-Sun accomplished becoming a human. Did she learn to love as well? And if so, what happened to the person she loves? She seems to be doing fine though, like no heartbreak ever happened. 🤔 Or like @mademoiselle said "so she claims", maybe she hasn't become a human yet, and that's why she's studying Lee Dam closely to figure out why Woo-Yeo's marble turned blue. The blind date was really funny, especially when they moved to the cafe and they showed the guy and Woo-Yeo are basically wearing the same thing. It cemented the idea that Woo-Yeo really does have that samchon vibe to someone like Lee Dam. The date was all high and mighty but still just an intern. 😂😂😂 Woo-Yeo teleporting Hye-Sun to Jae-Jin's car made me laugh hard, especially with what she accidentally says. They're pretty cute and I would love to see more of them. Just like Hye-Sun, it's the first time I've heard of the expression Jae-Jin used "let's take out our hands and feet for Dam's sake" (iQiyi subs). I get what it means, but I don't think I've seen it used before. Is that more of a Korean expression? @SilverMoonTea things aren't playing out too well for your tiger sunbae but hopefully things change soon. 6 episodes in and I feel like he's been taking hit after hit after hit. He definitely needs to get a break being painted as the bad guy. 🤦‍♂️
  16. @Sominah @Support_Somin_n_SG here's a treat for you and all SM fans here. This place has always looked familiar to me ever since it first showed up in the trailers/teasers. Well, apparently, here's why: Looks like she's going to get evicted from the same place again 😆😆😆 Note: I'm like... 90% 95% (😅) sure it's the same set of buildings. I think I'm now 99.99% sure since I've found a much better pic below. Same unit number too. 😅 And just for others not familiar, these are from Because This is My First Life. And thanks @abs-oluteM for posting the stills on your last post. It led to my investigation 😆
  17. @Sominah oh no. Don't get your hopes up. 😆😆 At least not yet... I dunno 😅 Aawww. I love the her new vlog. Looks like they're having a lot of fun. Somin so sweet as always. Aahhhhh. ♥️
  18. Aahhh. Lee Dam has eaten so much of so many things in just 4 episodes, and it doesn't look like it'll stop. 😂😂 The scenes between Woo-Yeo and Hye-Sun are always nice (the two gumihos), especially since Hye-Sun acts as a foil to Woo-Yeo. But she definitely gets the upper hand over Woo-Yeo on some other things. I'm curious if she's happy being a human though. If she's not, then I'm sort of getting a bad feeling with what her motives are to help Woo-Yeo. (Lol, I think Mouse has taught me to doubt everything and everyone 😆) Overall, this week's episodes are entertaining, and there's nice progress on the multiple love plots.

  20. In the new trailer, the part where NYW is being handled by 4 people looks intense. 🤣 Since the show focuses on housing, I wonder if they'll address why characters in a lot of shows have seemingly oversized homes/apartments, especially considering their status in life (struggling and out of money). They also love rooftop units. Is it just to make filming easier? And in the case of rooftop units, is it cause its better for those dreamy bokeh shots when the characters finally kiss? 😲
  21. The first image on the post didn't load properly for me on desktop, but I see it on mobile.. weird. I assume the nasty jerk boss is KJS, but when I scrolled through your post I was thinking "oh, this lady looks so nice" but since her picture is the only one that loaded for me, I sort of associated it with the "nasty jerk boss" line... and I was like "oh no... why is she looking at NYW like that. Is she scheming something?" 🤣🤣
  22. 😆😆 I was actually referring to a different couple... I didn't know they got best couple award though. But I think I did see the interview with SM and LJ talking about if they got the award. Oh oh oh. Btw. Did you notice that SM has sort of a signature "move" or line? The acting strong part in a scene, then when she's alone, she'll be like pounding her heart and telling herself she did a good job? I can't 100% remember which scenes, but I believe she did it in BTIMFL and MFIS and maybe even TSHLYE and Fix You. @Sominah Do you know what I'm saying?? 😆 Maybe we can make a compilation some day.
  23. I actually skipped some parts when I watched MFIS. There's one couple that sort of irritated me, especially at the start.... 😆😆 I feel like you can guess which couple. But yeah, looking back, I was surprised I was able to finish all episodes. I watched it at the start of the pandemic and I was able to watch maybe 5-6 episodes a day... Maybe even more cause of the free time. 😆😆 For me, she's really the main star of the show.
  24. @Lin M wah, why me? I said they look so different. 😆 For me she's really blooming. I hope she gets to be active for quite a while...
