Plus, how do you have a crush on someone for 10+ years and then just forget about them for their identical twin sister in less than a year???

Edit to add: I think the majority of my issues stem from the fact that NJH was such a new actor at the time and didn't really fill the role of male lead in a way that could give me interest in his character; it felt very cardboard cutout. 

I loved him in Cheese in the Trap and also Weightlifting Fairy; I just think he needed a bit more experience to do the role of Yi An justice. 

Joo Ho always seemed to have a slight smirk on his face as if he knew something that Dong Eun didn't. He also creeped her out a little bit. The first time she visited this agency she could have sworn someone followed her home but every time she turned around, there was nothing but shadows. Now, even when Dong Eun is at work she keeps thinking she sees Joo Ho's face in the crowd

It was almost as if he was following her around; but how... and why?

I watched to the end when the raws dropped this past weekend but I'm only up to 38 with subs right now. Some things are just way better with the subs!

Honestly, I'm over the brother and ZM's friend. I know that the writers/producers are wanting to push a happy ending for everyone but everything they did together these two episodes just feels so contrived. I may be alone in this but nothing about their relationship, past the art gallery scenes, has felt organic to me. 

I do think the friend could be a good foil for bro but it's not to the point that I want entire episodes to focus on them; I'd rather see more of XQ standing up to her family or bro figuring out how he wants to live his life and whether or not he's willing to do what XQ has done and give up the safety of money for a life; a true life, not this cage his parents have put the siblings in. 

All the things that SY was buying to spoil XQ this episode made me so happy! I have to wonder how long he's been saving up to do these things and spoil her! Treating his wifey like a princess is 100% the way to make her not miss anything about her conniving mother's gifts.

The episodes today were the best! I was telling @themarchioness that I was worried about what's going to happen roughly 3 eps from now (following typical drama pattern) because I was enjoying this sweetness so much!

I really, really want to read the book now too but I'm trying really hard to hold off until the drama is over so that I can watch and enjoy without any expectations. This is so good that it's really testing my patience though! I even struggle to focus at work after lunch because I watch an ep during my lunch and then think about it the rest of the afternoon. 

SOME SPOILERS UP TO EPISODE 20

I see a lot of comments under the videos about the female lead being spineless and it's really irritating me tbh. I feel like there's a lot of nuance to Xu Qin that people aren't picking up on because they're so focused on what THEY would do if they were in her shoes; completely ignoring the fact that this has been completely in line with her character. I haven't read the book (yet) but I'm hoping that a large part of Xu Qin's growth arc is learning to stand up to her family and fight for what she wants; which in this case is Song Yan.

It doesn't help that she was adopted as an older child so she likely already felt like an outcast and it's clear her 'mother' isn't the type to make her children feel loved and like they belong, no matter what.

Throughout the series we've seen signs of OCD in the FL and I think a lot of that is because she feels as though nothing in her life is by her choice/under her control. Even her job in the hospital is under her mother's control as we saw when the mother makes one phone call and suddenly the joint task force is disbanded. I don't think it's too far fetched to think that her mother would pull strings to get her to lose her job if necessary.

In my opinion, FL is struggling between the love of her life and losing her family; because that's what it comes down to for her. It's been stated several times that if she chooses to be with Song Yan, then she will not be part of the Meng family anymore. From what I know, asian culture in general is really big on filial duty, so it's not like in other cultures where it's not considered a big deal to cut off your toxic family.

As for the speech that XQ made about certain jobs, I understand what she was trying to convey with that and I think SY was struggling with his feelings for her at the time so he misconstrued what she was trying to say. I hope XQ starts to advocate for better compensation for firefighters in the future but I don't think that's something the drama is really going to touch.

I love that after she did her drunk confession that it seemed to have awakened something in SY. He's not as distant with her as he was before; he's actively letting her into his space now and enjoying when she's there (even if he does pretend otherwise)

As much as I'm dying for them to hash it out and get together, I do really love seeing them grow together again as adults. 

Having not read the novel before watching, sometimes the show is a little too vague with the snippets of their past but tbh, I just want them to treat the past as water under the bridge and I'm hoping the symbolism in episode 16 means we're going to do just that. 

I'm so excited for the second season. I adored this show so much!

The only thing I hope is that they cut the romance by a lot. Little hints here and there are ok but I really loved the focus on Wednesday herself and her budding investigation business. 

It feels like dark Nancy Drew and I am here for it!

I think that part is specifically because this heart condition is genetic and directly passed down from an immediate family member. Possibly the heart condition itself could be worsened by receiving blood from a direct relative who also has the same condition. That's just my speculation though. 

I have to admit that I'm not interested in the side romances at all. I just want more of the family dynamics! I get that they want to attract the most viewers but in my opinion, it takes a bit away from the gravity of the main storyline to have the side romances. That's just my opinion though.

I'm not very good at processing grief so I've taken a while to post here but Bai, you are greatly missed. I've read your notes to us all and I've seen your scheduled posts and each time I think how lucky I was to have known you; you brilliant, sweet thing. You went through so much over the past few years and while I'm still in disbelief and filled with sadness that you're gone, I'm glad that you at last get to be with @abnoch and Catch. This quote from your scheduled post hit me hardest:

I'm pretty behind on dramas so my current song isn't Korean/Chinese/Japanese but: 

Lone Digger by Caravan Palace

Very late to this (as usual) but I've watched I want to say 4 or 5 episodes of the current season? It's not bad but since it wasn't one of the stories I loved in the first place, I'm struggling to continue the show. The series as a whole, I love. Certain stories in particular though.... not my cup of tea. 

Anyone still watching it? Is it worth going through the rest of the season? 

I think this was meant for @themarchioness but yep! Just busy. Feeling bad that I don't have time to really do anything to help out with Janghaven. =[

@abs-oluteMI watched You are My Sunshine and loved the younger versions of the characters so much more than the adults! I am definitely putting this on my list to watch. 

Glad to see people are still excited about this show. I'm not a huge fan of some of the stories, Benedict and Francesca in particular, so I'll probably skip those seasons. I'm super excited for season 4 though as the 4th book is the best in my opinion.

Penelope is my absolute favorite character in the series. I don't remember who said it earlier but I'm disappointed that they took away some of what her character's essence is. She's not the type to confront people so the whole blowout with Marina over Colin was weird to me. It's also weird that they already outed Penelope as Whistledown because that's such a huge part of her story, and part of what makes me love the 4th book so much was the journey I took to figuring out Whistledown's identity too.

As for the whole thing where Colin/Marina almost get married, I think the show was trying to give him a reason to leave the continent for a while since in the books he leaves for like 10 years, or something like that, between Simon/Daphne's story and his own. Without the show watchers having context for him to stay away that long, and the depicted obvious closeness of the Bridgerton family, it seems like they were trying to give him a reason to be out of the picture for that long. 

@Dhakra I can't have hydras but I do the chicken build where I can go fast af! it's so fun. lol. chicken build plus that staff that makes my locust swarm auto cast? heck yes! 

I play with friends who do they hydra thing though. so there's that. 

@Dhakra It is but I am very much a social gamer. My friends play diablo, so do I. My friends play classic wow, so do I. I don't do well playing games alone. 

Diablo is definitely a social game for me. Its definitely more fun in co-op though. If I hadn't been carried through the set dungeon this season, I wouldn't have finished it but my friends know how much of a sucker I am for pets so there's that. 

I don't think we're going back to retail anytime soon though. They've added too much bs that just makes the game not fun to play anymore. =/

@Dhakra Yeah, I didn't play it at all when it originally came out so when retail 9.1 took forever to even be announced, I got talked into playing Classic and D3. Never played D3 before either but I really like playing Witch Doctor. I suck at it, but I like it. 

@TRaNz I feel bad. LOL. Stop making me feel bad! =p

Nah, I just wasn't on voice too much. But the people I talk to are not top tier, Ivy League. I'm still undergrad. I do community college. lol

@NiteWalker I probably won't play the rpg game tbh. I'm too far behind and I don't enjoy playing with people I don't have some interaction with. 

Right now I've been playing WoW: TBC classic (World of Warcraft, the burning crusade) and Diablo 3.

This is true, and doubly true if any of your friend group works food service. It's too much like work at times. ><  

I think we passed all the levels once with 3 stars and then moved on to other things. Only took a couple days of attempts.

Yep! Not insane amounts like before as I still have other stuff going on outside of school but at least I have time to check/reply on JH and discord! It's so weird to have time to play video games without having to stay up until 4am to do it.
