Totally unrelated topic, but I feel like you guys would be experts in this field and I need some help jogging my memory!  

I feel like I've watched a number of dramas where there was a second female lead who either pretended to be nice and innocent at first, or was genuinely nice at first, but then when the tables turned and the first lead was up on her luck, they backstabbed them or did harmful things out of jealousy.  

Trying to find a character that matches the second lead in the Taiwanese drama, Lost Romance. So far, I can only really think of Hyun Soo Ah from k-drama My ID is Gangnam Beauty. If you can think of any characters like that, please give me the name of the drama - can be dramas from any country. Thanks!!

@Tofu Oh, I totally agree with you about Marcus. I liked him in his lead debut in Back to 1989 because he played an interesting character. But since then, I feel like he's basically been the same character in every series, which is a shame since the 'rich, outwardly mean, but inwardly soft CEO' type is quite boring and I think he's a good actor who could rise above this role (eg. Would love to see him play a gangster or hooligan). When I first read about Lost Romance, a drama that would make fun of the romance novel tropes, I thought he would discover that he was a stereotypical character and try to change (although that might be similar to Extraordinary You) or that the heroine might not get with the first lead in the book or something fun like that...but it seems to have gone down the conventional route.  And yessss, Simon is the best! His character's clothes are pretty funny - I'm really not sure why they have to be that oversized!!  The main reason I continue to watch this series is to see Qing Feng sass Aoran and have chemistry with Xiao En. As for the connecting of the 2 worlds, they haven't established that yet, but they've been dropping lots of hints - hope they start explaining soon or they'll be lots to tie up at the end!

@sharluvsenergy It's great that you've caught up! Yeah, the story is interesting and the pacing is good. Wish some of the characters had better development, but so far it's been a fun watch. Isn't the cast chemistry amazing?

Ohhh, I'd love to watch Little Forrest with you guys! I haven't been on the forums properly for a few days due to busy times - so catching up on messages. When does the viewing party begin? 

@Tofu I'm a big fan of the 1 episode per week - I feel the actors put in more effort promoting the drama to keep fans interested. That's why Vivian and Marcus and Simon film additional videos and stuff on their socials. I'm a bigger fan of the second lead Qing Feng in the series (Simon Lian irl) but I do think it's funny and cute when Vivian and Marcus go all husband and wifey on us - This latest episode (which I'm watching tonight) seems like it'll be oddly steamy, so they're living up to their "relationship" haha.

Hope it makes it over to Asia one day!! If you don't mind me asking, are you based in one of those popular Asian cities, somewhere like Sg or Hk? I think it could make it over there. We just have to believe it'll happen one day!

@MayanEcho @Tofu Mulan is opening in theatres in Singapore too. Our cinemas are limited to 50 pax so I may consider watching. I really want to see it on the big screen. Maybe take a vacation day (since I have so many 😕) and watch it at an unpopular hour.

Wow kind jelly there are still cinemas open in some places! I've been wfh for 5 months now and I've literally only been going to the grocery store and buying snacks for fun 😂 But I have caught up on a lot of dramas I missed when I was not super committed to the drama world for the past 2 years or so.

@abs-oluteM I really want to see Peninsula - was a big fan of Train to Busan and got to watch it for a film festival at work. Hopefully they show it here when all this is over otherwise hoping I can stream it somewhere.

Yeah, HP already has a lot of characters, so adding all those ones in FB makes it hard to remember. I saw the play in my city when it came out- The story was cheesey (Especially since it was not written by the author, so the style was different), but the actors, special effects, costumes and settings were all amazing. Hopefully you get to see it one day if you still want to.

Cat Woman is also another one that needs to thread carefully in portrayal, lol. The actress plays Leta Lestrange in Fantastic Beast 2. Hmmm, could barely remember her.

This is true! I also have no memory of Leta Lestrange either...I always thought I knew the HP universe and all it's actors well, but I think it's grown too big for me these days!

@wallflowersforjane Oh yeah, I forgot about that other audience! 🤣 I always pictured Bruce Wayne to be super suave and fancy and in a tux, but this looks like it's taking his character in a different direction, so might work with dark RPatz and his sharp jawline, haha

@mademoisellesia Defs my favourite Batman! And when you said the trailer was dark, I got curious and watched it. It does look dark which is good (can't do the cheesey superhero films like Avengers)...but I also can't tell what the story is 😂

Oh yeahhh, I forgot about that! Honestly I can't picture RPatz as Batman, but I think I have a bias to always think of Batman as Christian Bale 😅 I suppose Twilight was like HP to some generation of teenage girls

I thought there were no more Twilight fans in existence, haha! (no offence meant to anyone who might still like the books/ movies!)
