  1. @stroppyse I hope you don't mind but I set your translations to timings on the video so it's properly subbed, crediting you for the translations (I was just in the mood to see the writing matching the actions :BulbaOWO:)...And I've left it as an unlisted video on my channel so far so it can't be easily found, but if you didn't mind it being public, it could be potential Janghaven promotional material. Let me know what you think. (I can also make the video private if you would prefer not to have it shown though, so no pressure. Also I'm not sure if Netflix will plan to do another cull as they seem to be removing additional content these days for show they distribute)

Thanks so much for the translations though!!! You are a shiny gemstone :hearties: :CharmanderYay:

Also feel free to correct if anything is wrong...Considering I understand no Korean, I think I matched most of it thanks to your clear translations :)

Instructions for subs: Turn on 'CC' at right hand bottom of the screen to see Eng subs.

The only way to watch it is by using vpn I guess.. Its Ok.... lol

@Lynne Can still watch through Vidol (SETTV's streaming platform) and their Vidol Youtube Channel so far, luckily. We'll see how long for though:

I like to see progression in the storyline fast (because I'm not patient enough haha!) so sometimes the one episode a week doesn't work for me; however, Mike He in a drama is very enticing. It's already up on Netflix for me so...maybe I'll watch it before I go to sleep tonight.

Hahaha, yes I think a lot of people like getting the story quickly. I do miss Mike He - it's been a looooong time. I think the last thing I watched him in was that basketball drama with Hebe?? And I have a soft spot for Ivy. I'm gonna watch the first ep tonight :3

  3. Hey random question, but can you guys all see the videos linked above or are they blocked in your countries too? I think Netflix has become a lot more strict these days and they're blocking videos if they distribute them and want to use the trailers/ Behind the Scenes? But not sure if it's everywhere or some countries. Let me know what you see!

Haha once a week really works for me....allows me to watch my 3 other on-air Korean dramas simultaneously (2 eps per series = 6 eps of shows)...I'd cry if this was coming out everyday and I had to watch those series too :lettalKWA::laugh:

His eyes... when he looking at her... I'm the one blushing actually haha and I should be a veteran drama watcher  And the way he hold her waist... lol... maybe this ship not so pure afterall? 🤣 The highschooler seems quite passionate haha....

Btw, Lee Jae Wook x Go Ara Swoon clip so cute. LJW only left with few notes, but he played so well with that xylophones. And I was rofl when he said sunbaenim I can't looked chic whenever I see you... He's so sweet picked the rose hair band, but I have feeling she actually always want to become sunflower  I hope TMI interview will get sub soon? Or should we call stroppy help haha? I'm contemplating now...

Hahaha, I don't think any 19 year boys really do have pure thoughts  but so far he's been holding back as much as possible....

Or Rara accidentally headbutts him and everything goes back to normal

Hahaha, yessss...I died when he said "Sunbaenim, I can't looked chic whenever I see you." That boy is just so damn soft! I love it.

    :BulbaOWO::hearties:

Haha, he was so shy this video. I guess he didn't want to look uncool in front of his more experienced co-star. I also thought it was sweet that he picked the cute rose headband for her to spare her from wearing anything embarrassing...but then Go Ara likes being funny and she probably thought she should even out their embarrassing challenges, so she picked the crazy sunflower accessory. But I laughed when he almost had a heart attack thinking she was telling him to wear it. He was probably like, "But I went easy on youuuu" :lettalKWA::laugh:

  6. @SilverMoonTea Yayyy, you're back :CharmanderYay: That was a cute video! Thanks for sharing! I like when people make music videos to pair their favourite songs with their favourite drama moments.

Speaking of music, I'm not sure if it was this forum or elsewhere which I mentioned it (or maybe someone else did), but I really liked when this scene happened at the end of episode 5 and they swapped from that floating classical music to that heartbeat-y dj music to signify romantic tension and the chaos within (see clip if you have no idea what I'm talking about)

  7. I finally watched both episodes! I'm liking the series a lot. Firstly, I have to say it's fun to recognise so many actors in this - I can't tell if it's because I've been on such a drama bender lately that I recognise everyone (I normally think I've seen the actors somewhere before, but I'm not able to pinpoint which projects I saw them in), or if it's because they've sort of picked actors who have another project airing concurrently or have aired recently. But yeah, I laughed when I saw Kim Joo-Hun once again since I'm also watching Doldolsolsollalasol and since I saw It's Ok to be Not Ok earlier in the year. Also Jun's scary mum from Doldolsolsollalasol as the investor. The friend from Extraordinary You as Dal-Mi's friend. Do San's friend from Crash Landing on You. That gangster from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon as Do San's dad. All the people I have seen before!! :GrimChamp: :SquirtleSquadCool:

The settings are sooo beautiful with the cherry blossom trees! :BulbaOWO: And the story telling is pretty smooth and fun to follow. This is one of the few sister rivalry stories I've seen over the years.  I was so sad for their father - that's like the ultimate tragic storyline. Really loving the subplot with led to Dal Mi and Do San meeting - the sassy grandma and Ji pyeong picking the identity of some kid out of the newspaper to write to her. I was touched by the grandma reaching out to Ji pyeong even though he was just some kid on the streets (one with such a prickly attitude) but she really knew how to teach him. Ji pyeong has the type of personality that seems guarded and judgemental, but I like that he puts it down when it comes to grandma...and I feel like I'll develop some kind of second lead syndrome once the story gets really underway even though I came here specifically for Nam Joo Hyuk :MewHi:

Even though I like how the story is going, there are a few things that are a stretch to believe sometimes - things that made me go "Riiiight...this only really happens in Dramaland" :ChikoWTF: Like how the sister would suddenly be so mean due to money. You could see they were changing over the years, but her insults to her sister and father were so extreme! I guess there will always be some people who cut off ties for money. Also the fact that Ji Pyeong found Do San sooo easily! Haha, what are the chances! And the fact that Dal Mi judged so many guys against a kid she never met, but wrote her letters one spring. Dramaland tropes, but the story is fun and colorful and has me rooting for all the main characters, so looking forward to seeing the next eps!

  8. Haha, this is a bit of a throwback post to last year: I recently watched the rest of his Extraordinary You BTS vids. I always thought it was cute that he was the youngest, but everyone on set thought he was older than them at first and he had to correct them XD

Also thought he had a lot of chemistry with Kim Hye Yoon. They were always so cute together! :hearties:

Though the Bromance was also extremely strong with Rowoon XD :SquirtleNiceAhah:

I must admit I was disappointed it was going to be another "zombie-like" show. Coz why do Koreans love zombies so much?!! Alive is not scary too. There are some scenes echoing how we feel when we were lockdown, LOL.

I've tagged you at the thread where you can sign up. ^ ^

    Thanks for tagging me @mademoiselle

I think Koreans just like supernatural stuff and have kept going since the vampire trend started by Twilight :MewGiggle:

Hahaha, zombies are fun...what I don't get is the Korean fascination with Grim Reapers?? Like I remember watching Abyss, Along with the Gods, Goblin etc and not quite connecting with any of those shows. The idea is kinda cool, but whenever I watch grim reapers dramas, it's always kinda cheesy like the sparkly vampires.

But I love zombies! Unlike vampires and grim reapers, they don't seem to take zombies so seriously. The zombies are just hungry, so they're either scary or c-grade comedy. Also, zombie films are an important study on human behaviour as it's not the zombies who are the problem (unless there a lot of them), it's usually the humans - I always thought they exaggerated just how badly humans can't follow instructions...but then covid happened and I realised all the zombie films are correct :1000: - There's always going to be a bunch of people who don't know how to or don't want to follow instructions and risk everyone's lives :lettalKWA:

Thanks everyone for listening to my TED talk on the importance of zombie films :SquirtleSquadCool:

For now, we need a few members to volunteer providing a brief bios (like the staff bios) and some clues (we'll provide more info later if you are interested).

The game is for everyone to guess who you are from the clues using the bios. We play this game when Jang Haven forums opened. Back then it was members guessing the staffs. This time it would be staff and members guessing the members. You can play too even if you volunteer your bios :)

Ooooh, I don't mind joining...where do I sign up?? I feel like I saw a link before, but not sure where. What sort of bio will I fill out?

Ooooohhhhh zombies. That's fine then, I'm totally chicken but for some reason, I really love zombie films

I blame things like Train to Busan, Kingdom 1&2 & The Odd Family: Zombie for Sale for this love. Still haven't seen Alive yet though

yea this year for the first times, our company had us plan our annual leave out as due to the fact that with Covid19 alot of us WFH and so we arent able to clear our leave lols

Wow, so you had to submit all your leave for this year?

I was in Japan for a month last year, so I think that helped with 2019 leave...but as for this year, it's been so weird. I definitely haven't used any leave yet :psweatduck: We got 1-2 free days off from our CEO because it's hard working from home and she's good at looking after everyone.

    1. [+468][-1] So the fact that he didn't have a license and was a middle school graduate was because he was a minor ㅠ  All this time this grandma here was shamelessly calling you 'Oppa, oppa', Jun-ah

     2. [+378][-3] Now that I know he's a high school student, his nature to want to look good to her as a younger man has appeared, it's seriously really heart fluttering

Hahahaha, Thanks for this @abs-oluteM ...oh god, The Korean watcher comments are so funny, but their priorities are wrong

The international comments are all wondering about his age and legality and there's a lot of explaining and researching over at Reddit!

    6 hours ago, stroppyse said:

Hmm... Well, Jun is technically a minor since he's not 21 yet, and messing around with a minor is a big no-no. That twist shocked me, to be honest. A 5 year age gap when someone is in their 20's or 30's or older isn't that big a thing. When one member is a minor and still in school, it becomes a very big thing.

In the context of Korea where he's just under the legal age, it's so so bizarre! Like if I lived in Korea and had known the legal age to be 20, I would feel so weird :BulbaConfused:.

But it's fair that people will have different views from their own understandings as 21 isn't the legal age in every country. Looking at comments from my country, the general consensus is that this plot twist is very, very, very weird, but not illegal. In terms of his actual age being 19 and dating an older adult? Over here, at 19 years of age, it would be fine as long as there was consent. So to me, if I think about Jun being 19, it doesn't freak me out personally because I just can't think minor in my mind when I was already in uni drinking, holding a driver's license and dating at 18 myself. I just can't help it - that number just sounds legal to me because of the context of where I grew up :MewHi:

But if I think of it from the Korean context, where he's still in high school and being 19 there is like being 17 here...then that is when it gets weird :psweatduck:

But so far, I think the show has been cute because it's looking at Jun's one-sided crush. It's also been careful not to go into that 'messing around' territory - After episode 6, I feel like he's going to have to disappear at some point. Nothing crazy has happened, just romantic tension, which I suppose we see because we're viewing it from Jun's standpoint. Rara really doesn't know Jun's age since he's hidden it from her and she doesn't seem to be clued in that they have that sort of tension...the height chart flashback has been the only time she thought about it. Jun, on the other hand likes Rara, but seems to hold back as much as possible due to his age and the big lie between them. I feel a time jump is the only way they can catch them up to each other and iron out the weirdness of the age difference/life stages.

Great examples of silliness! Yes, I loved how simple LL's "dream" was and how she says that there isn't much to dreams, just things that one may want to do. And, funny and sweet when Jun uses it on LL later when he's declaring that having a personal driver had been a dream of his.

As for sitting in a row and watching Jun as they eat...LOL...I just burst into laughter just thinking about that scene.

I totally loved that the "dream" line was used in a sweet on-going way between them too :BulbaOWO:

Haha, with the sitting in a row, I think the funniest part was when his store manager said that there was a new member to his fan club and that the guy was totally smitten with him

    8 hours ago, stroppyse said:

Heck, even HY's male school friend, Seung Ki, has more game than Jun. Don't think we didn't see you, Seung Ki, casually drape your arm on the seat behind HY on the bus!

Haven't watched today's episode, but looking forward to watching it later.

Hahahaha those high schoolers are so funny. SK is really going for it with his "listen to the lyrics of this song"

HY is going to have a field day if she finds out Jun is a high schooler like her! She'll probably marry him on the spot regardless of how he feels! :MewGiggle:

Back to the high schooler thing, it looks like they confirmed Jun is 19 on their social media posts (apparently Koreans finish high school when they're 18-20?). I think it's not the 5 year age gap between Rara and Jun that makes people uncomfortable. Like if Rara was 30 and Jun 25, people would just shrug at the noona romance. The weird part is the different stages of life they're in! High schooler vs. graduate, 'minor' vs. adult is what people think of. :BulbaConfused: I wonder if where you live and the 'legal age' mentality makes a difference. Where I live, 18 is the legal age where you can drink, drive, go into a casino, consent to intimacy etc, so while this gap is strange (with him still in high school), he's not a minor in my mind. But I know it's different in Korea where it's 21, so this must be so weird for them!! :psweatduck:

I'm not one for time jumps normally, but for once in my life, I'm kind of hoping they'll be some sort of catch up time jump. A lot of people think there will be at some point. But the romance has been super cute - I think because Jun is so mature and Rara so fun and naive, that they really balance each other out! Lee Jae Wook also has a mature, cool look so at least it's not a baby faced actor.

Yeah, I don't watch dramas until it's dark (like literally the sun goes down and it's night), so gotta keep away from spoilers till then! But looking forward to next ep as always!  :CharmanderYay:
