    i thought only 16 episodes? Total 18?

@NiteWalker I've heard it's 20 episodes for awhile now - it's currently on episode 16 and there's been an episode 17 preview. The main characters are yet to fall in love outside of the storybook world and the bad guys still need some work, so I think 4 more episodes to tie up is believable....But also the TV channel, SETTV rarely does drama runs under 20 episodes (unless it was only planned to have 13 or something. But in the past, they've generally been 20-22 episode series).

I've had this drama come up on my recommended list on Netflix, but it looks so scary. Have you watched any of it yet?

Haven't seen this yet...I'm intrigued, and have seen it pop up on Netflix....but I'm also chicken, so hoping it's not too gory/jump scary!

  3. Trailer for the drama is below...You can watch the series on Viki for free with subs :)

Admittedly, I think it follows a pretty standard tomboy-meets-CEO romance storyline, but I do like tomboy heroines and I'm a Puff fan (Jiro is also one of those entertainers I grew up with)...so this will be an easy watch, I think!

Puff has been promoting the drama with other co-stars since Jiro is filming multiple projects in China. Here's some Pictures from her Taekwondo Press Conference:

  4. @mademoisellesia You've posted so many good talents here. Really love Cha Eun Woo - can't wait to see him again in True Beauty (I'm hooked on the webtoon even though it's not a super original story...pretty art styles are my weakness). Kim Min Jae is so talented!! I'm not really a K-pop person, but damn whenever I watch those dances, I'm so impressed at how smooth and in sync they are!

Tag @JenL, you should showcase Jasper talents here too!

Hahahaha, it's me and I've finally noticed this tag....I'm here to bring y'all Jasper Liu, the other half to @SilverMoonTea's future husband Lee Seung Gi :MewGiggle:

Jasper is an actor and model, he's a guitarist and now a singer, since he just released an EP with 4 songs. He majored in design and paints quite a bit - he painted the cover of his EP (as well as bonus cards for fans). He has painted pictures for other actors - stuff like portraits and pictures of their pets (He gave a painting to Puff Kuo once for her birthday) and he also gave paintings as gifts to fans (on Twogether). And he can speak a few dialects of Chinese, English, Korean and a bit of Japanese. Also good with kids :BulbaOWO: I love him :SquirtleNiceAhah:

    Evidence Below XD

Jasper on guitar with his old band Morning Call

    Jasper singing

Jasper hanging with a kid and speaking Korean

ok..good thing you explained this...cause I don't get JK . I don't get how JY and JK who supposedly love each other never got together before HH and JK did. But I still wonder if JY has any lingering feelings for JK now that we're having this time jump. I think that is somewhat holding him back from realising his feelings for SA

I still feel like he has lingering feelings, but now that SA has confessed clearly, I think it'll make him see her and have more clearly romantic feelings for her going forward

Dong Yun is like the biggest arsxhole a girl can meet. He should refer to Lee Jong Suk's Romance is A Bonus Book on how to reject a girl. Due to lack of backstory and clarity of their dating timeline, I assume he went out with Min Seong already (she's a cellist in the photo) and then secretly harbour feelings for Song Ah. The one night stand is definitely inappropriate and it was done because of needs (don't blame it on alcohol).

Maybe Hyun Ho and Min Seong can pair up. Both were being mistreated/used by their lovers so they would understand each other's pain. They seem to be the loving, devoted kind and both a cellist so it'd be nice to see them move on and find happiness.

Yep, I agree. I don't like wishy washy guys who have cruel ways to reject girls. If your theory is correct and he was going out with MS first, I think that's even worse!! Ugh.

HH & MS pairing up would be kinda cute. They're both loyal, they just need to devote their loyalty to each other! A friend of mine of Twitter was crack-shipping -she thinks JK and DY should get together XD The grandma would apparently approve because DY takes risks and is career driven.

Episode 5-6 were kinda painful to watch to be honest - like the series is good, but I felt on edge and was awaiting uncomfortable, awkward moments the whole time. I think it's all that misunderstanding that needs to be sorted out - like when SA arrived at JY's apartment and saw JK coming out of it and thought that JK and JY had been together. Also, when JK was being really mean to HH and breaking up with him in front of foundation staff members - it's kind of uncalled for! Privates matters should not be showcased in front of other people! Also, when everyone seemed unsure and awkward about SA doing her masters (also that teacher who previously said nasty things bout her coming to offer her a high studies opportunity?)...All the tensions are paving the way for future developments, but I couldn't help squirming a little!

The good part is that SA has told him how she feels. Even if he does reject her at first (another potential tension), at least it'll plant the seed in his head that she likes him and he always likes hanging out with her. I feel there's so much more development to go, but at least it's slowly moving into the right direction.

@JenL, loved your write up and pictures about the fanmeets, but both of your links point to the same fan meeting. Loved the pictures and it sounds as if it was a lot of fun! I've never been to a fan meeting, but I might have to reconsider it. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't see your comments @stroppyse...And Thanks! Also fixed up the link to the second fan meet story :) Fan meetings are definitely fun to attend, but it's definitely a whole day thing if you want to bag a good spot to see the actors/singers. But you get nice perks, like signings:

    tAhaO8F.jpg

@Merry_Shai @stroppyse Yep, I believe there should be a 'Part 2' for Triad princess, but it probably won't get promoted till November since Netflix tends to air the so-called second season a year after the first one airs. I'm not sure why they feel the need to split pre-filmed series into 2 seasons, since most Asian drama viewers prefer either to marathon or to be on an even drip feed (1 or 2 episodes per week). I've had a few experiences of Asian dramas being split like that - the first being this Korean drama called 'My First First Love' - a lot of people found it very taxing to have to wait a year for the second half, especially since it was a slice of life type drama, so people forgot the story line...I guess that's how they force people to re-watch series and stay subscribed?

@NiteWalker Yep, Jasper was in a variety series with Lee Seung Gi not long ago called Twogether. It was a fun watch for the Bromance!

Jasper's agency recently released a behind the scenes video for the making of his music video U. I've translated the video (for those who don't speak/understand Chinese) and put up the nice stills they released here:

Otherwise, you can just watch the video here :)

@JenL I've been hearing rumors the drama got extended?

Just had a check and didn't see anything confirmed...I'm thinking it's a misunderstanding for 2 reasons :psweatduck:

    1) It might be because the actors recently did a live which was in Chinese, but Marcus sometimes says the odd phrase or word in English and he kept saying 'Season 2' - but he meant that after the wedding where XE is forced to return to the real world, the drama's storyline is different to the episodes that took place in the novel world, so he said it feels like a season 2 for series. Haha, not that there'll be a season 2. I'll link to the Live which I chucked up on my YouTube account.

    2) Another reason people might think it was extended is because MyDramaList says there's only 16 episodes (which I think is a typo). It was originally planned for 20 episode run and so far the ending date matches the starting date for the drama that will take over from it - The Devil's Punisher (Apparently the story has been described as the Taiwanese Goblin and will star Ivy Shao and Mike He, so really looking forward to it! Will make a page here for chatting.) Unless there's been delays with The Devil's Punisher , I don't know if they'd extend (It could be possible since both Ivy and Mike seem busy with stage play and Mike had a second baby...but they started filming really early - even before Lost Romance!) So to answer your question, haven't seen anything definitive but I'll update if I hear for sure.

Jung Kyung - I... I don't understand her. It's because there's a lack of her backstory and we're not privy to her inner thoughts. She appears to have always liked Joon Young, then why did she not voice it for so many years? If she had liked Joon Young from the start, then I really can't like her very much since this means she never likes Hyun Ho and likely she used Hyun Ho to provoke Joon Young rather than taking the initiative to confess. Was she too proud or prideful to admit her feelings for someone with a lesser spec from Joon Young then?

As for that confession scene, I am a bit "???" Is that considered a clean rejection from Joon Young? It wasn't clear for me. The way things played out there's still traces of lingering feelings he showed for her. I need them to clean out their messy relationship since ma boy needs to be with ma girl, LOL.

@mademoisellesia I finished episode 5 too and share many of the same thoughts!

I'm really confused by JK. Like honestly, it looked like she and JY had such a strong bond as teens, I don't see why she would deny her feelings for him and get with his good friend HH of all people. Without a backstory revealed yet, I feel like she's the kind of girl who gets upset over the smallest of things and probably accepted HH's confession to spite JY for not confessing to her outright or something like that. While I think she causes her own unhappiness, JK is still interesting in her complexities as a character - she obviously has a very challenging relationship with her stern grandmother and has never gotten over the death of her mother or the loss of her talents...so while I find her irritating in her relationship with JY and HH so far, I also feel sorry for her and her complicated issues.

I also feel the JY and JK rejection has interesting wording - like him telling her to endure her feelings, like he had done for so long? I 'm not sure that's healthy for anyone to endure for the sake of anyone else (In this case his friend HH). But I'm glad he stood strong even though it's clear that he can still falter when dealing with her. I think it takes time for someone to get over someone they've had a crush on for their whole lives - but the first step is to say No, which JY did.

On the other side of the love triangle, I actually find DY to be possibly more annoying that JK. He seems to be undecided about what he wants - he clearly like SA but why has he never told her?! Not only did he end up with her friend, he's done it twice with a one night stand included! I think I've seen some people say MS is not a great friend for always dumping on SA, but I think she's just caught up in her own problems because she likes DY, who seems to be quite insensitive! Like that rejection about pretending not to hear MS was pretty harsh.

I have to say I really, really like SA...also she's so relatable to me. I definitely feel like there are things I've tried so hard to be good at and have only done so-so at in the end - And I understand the pain that comes with being surrounded by people who are effortlessly talented (Haha, can you tell I went to a selective school? XD) I'm glad SA was able to talk some sense into JY - It's such a privilege to be talented at things, even if there are definitely stresses that might come with the package. Also that performer who talked down to SA. Ughhhh - those are the worst people - talented but still insecure that they need to put others down.

Saved the best discussion for last - SA + JY's development - I think it's cute how they notice the little things about each other and about themselves, when they're with the other person. I like that JY always talks about how he feels better after seeing her. How he can just leave during the applause to find her. I felt the asking her out to dinner was kind of random, but I guess that's how comfortable they are with each other now that he's just moving onto the next stage....

Consolidated all the teasers TVN has been dropping in the top post!

The visuals for this drama looks really good. And I really like the way that in the overhead shot of the 4 leads, Nam Joo-Hyuk and Suzy are looking at each other as they cross the floor. They are both wearing black too, while the second leads are in other colours. :SquirtleWonderfull:

Liking the posters for this drama too! Fan of Nam Joo Hyuk since Weightlifting Fairy days and it'd be nice to see him again since I haven't been interested in the last few projects he did. Also I like these 'strive for your dreams' type dramas :CharmanderYay:

Made it a priority to watch Ep 1 before work today haha. Ep 1 did not disappoint!

I've separated my thoughts into 2 parts, music and non-music.

    Music:

The conductor for the first performance was a little too harsh asking two violinists to leave. Does this even happen in real life?
Usually, if certain sections are too loud, the conductor will just request for the section to play softer (p, pp or even ppp!). The rehearsal shown was on the day of the performance, so the conductor would already have had many practices with the orchestra, and the numbers would already have been decided long time ago.
The only reason members are removed is probably if they are really not up to par, not because the section is 'too loud'. It just doesn't make sense to remove members on the day of the performance itself.
I was in a choir before and we did many performances, but this never happened. So this was just a decision that made me scratch my head.

Kim Min Jae's performance on the piano:
Looked pretty realistic as far as dramas go! Except for the (maybe) nit-pick that  he bounced a little too much for the first part

Haha, as someone who doesn't play music at all, I have always wondered in these musical dramas whether the actors look realistic when they play the instruments especially if they're meant to be the 'top' musicians :MonkaTang: Haha, this kind of answers my question. I suspect they also often pick actors who have played instruments before so they don't have to start from scratch and sometimes do body doubles with actual players, haha.

  12. Finally caught up and I think I'm on the most recent episode (slow drama watcher here)! Really liking the gentle nature of both the leads and the slow-burn building of a relationship between two empathetic souls. I also like the set up of 2 love triangles that sort of overlap as they both help each other get over their unrequited loves. This love story creates a certain dreaminess and mood, which I love. Definitely a fan of Park Eun Bin, and I think she's perfectly cast for this role. There's also a good chemistry between SA & JY both in a refreshingly realistic manner - awkward, but curious about the other person...I find that's the way the best relationships start out in real life!

In terms of the side character, I find characters like JK super annoying. JY doesn't say his feelings, but she's aware of them and yet she's not openly making a move, but getting angry at him for not saying anything while she agrees to date his best friend. Honestly, unless they reveal something new about their past, it's looking like she caused her own unhappiness.

The writer is making it clear is that even though both Song Ah and Joon Young cannot seem to express their deepest feelings to the people around them, they are very comfortable sharing their inner thoughts with each other. If this isn't the foundation to a good relationship, I don't know what is.  I am glad that SBS is not using the usual bickering / quarreling trope to get them together. It is refreshing that they connect in such a warm and calm manner the way they do. No yelling , no screaming. Just tonnes of no-need-for-words eye contact and honest conversations.

Yes! This is so true! I'm finding this series refreshing as it seems to be a quiet love story where 2 people of a similar nature in similar situations meet...and it's less of that hate-love-bantering that is a bit stereotypical to romances, but more of a connecting on a deeper level from the start sort of thing :BulbaOWO:

Something so adorable about Jasper Liu. Like him even more after watching some episodes of Twogether. Is he really that sweet and relatively innocent?

@stroppyse I think so! In all the years I've followed him (From 2014), I think he's always been quite a sweetheart with a fun and relatively open personality. He used to be quieter and a lot more shy when he started out and I think sometimes a little more serious, like you could see if he was feeling tired in the Behind the Scenes (he's actually a homebody outside of work). But I think he's really come out of his shell as an idol and is a lot more comfortable with the media these days. As far as I know (and knock on wood) there hasn't been any scandals. Every now and then they like to tease him him (like when he was doing those intense scenes with Puff in Before We Get Married) or there'll be a gossip article, but it's generally been unfounded and hasn't developed into any damaging rumours. (It's silly that people get hung up on these things as I think celebrities should just live their lives if they're not doing anything bad/illegal...but it's something that governs their careers sadly.)

Jasper's pretty nice in real life! Not going to pretend to I know him super well, or that I had the type of experience the girls on Twogether had, but have been lucky enough to go to 3 of his fan meets (this was before he hit this Netflix level of fame) and he was always pretty nice to talk to. At his most recent fan meet (above) there was a video a fan took where he casually and happily just crouched down and talked to/signed CDs for a man in a wheelchair. Jasper also still lives at home with his mum and dad, and he's always happy to talk about his family, which I think is so wholesome! And he seems to have a good relationship with all the stars he's worked with - particularly Puff, who he will sometimes mention in interviews as a good friend who helped him in the industry. But honestly, he's more likely to be in a Bromance with his male co-stars :MewGiggle:

Oh Hello! I'm Jen....I also came from Soompi, but I'm not as involved as some of these guys who have been mods!  I just like to chat about dramas on different threads :) and I have a drama blog (These Dramatic Days) where I translate a lot of things.

You probably didn't run into me on Soompi unless you were on the Taiwanese drama boards in Soompi. I also watch a lot of K-dramas and like them a lot... but K-drama discussions are sooo fast-paced that I usually lurk or leave the occasional comment when I can catch up! Currently watching It's Ok to Not Be Ok and Lost Romance. Aside from dramas, I'm surviving lockdown in my country by playing with my dog, going on walks, eating lots of chocolate.

@wallflowersforjane who I met from watching the variety series Twogether introduced me to Janghaven :)

What about you? I actually don't know too many people here myself, but I feel like I'm learning about everyone from talking to them!
