  1. She did, but I don't think that's what's going on right now (in these early parts of the drama). I think ZLY's post was probably in reaction to things that were happening farther down the story, where they were filming at the time. (And hopefully after her post the focus in the script re-aligned itself so we won't have to deal with that!) I think, right now, in these early eps, the story is just suffering from massive overdose of characters and storylines -- which, as I understand it, is true to the book. (From what I remember when skimming the book it also starts out pretty slow - it takes a while before we even meet Xie Yun!) It's starts out with a constant journey with the characters on the constant move so they meet new people along the way, some of whom join them, drop away (maybe even die!), rejoin, etc. I am hopeful that at some point it will all come together because I think these experiences are crucial to Zhou Fei's development as a martial arts expert; it's like she learns a little something along the way while Xie Yun is next to her, helping her along the way. For me things dragged during that part where they were separated because I like their banter and how they work cooperatively. Fortunately they're back to hanging out together now! As for the complaints about chemistry, I don't feel that way either. My impression is this is not a lovely dovey overt romantic type story anyway. (Honestly, I kind of feel like rather than the story not living up to certain people's expectations, it's more like those people should adjust their expectations from what they expected from the story???) I actually like Xie Yun and Zhou Fei working as friends and colleagues right now, and you do get hints of interest from Xie Yun while Zhou Fei is just totally clueless. Seems like she's more concerned about who she needs to beat up next. ;) Anyway, no complaints from this quarter. I'm still happily skimming along while waiting until i can go back and rewatch in full with subs.
  2. Me too, me too... I am going to have to do some work (I could literally hear my mom's voice fall when I admitted that to her the other day) but I am at least hoping to not work as much. Just a few hours each day should be able to cover everything that I need to have done by the time I return in the new year. And ooooh, thank you for sharing this art! It's beautiful. Definitely want to save those images. Thank you, thank you!
  3. Yesss.... every day over a week now I have been working late into the night. Weekends too. I'm exhausted! (Meanwhile there's Yibo and more Forever Love to be watched.... *cries some more*)
  4. I had zero problems with the lack of parents, LOL.. most of the story took place when they were in school anyway and we did get glimpses of their parents when they called to disapprove of their children's choice of studies - whether it was his desire to study sculpting and hers to switch to painting - so they weren't completely absent. But apart from that they were such a nonfactor that I'm not sure what the parents would've added. But for the plot, it wasn't anything terrible, it was just simple. It literally revolved around the same two themes for almost the entirety of the drama. In the first half, it was a combination of the following events: He liked her, but he wouldn't express it, and so she'd start to think maybe he liked her, but then he'd do something that would make her think he didn't like her and was annoying, and/or that he had something going on with the second female lead, while he also thought she had something going on with the second male lead. It was just the window dressing of events that would change, but literally every time we went through another cycle, I'd think, "Oh, here we go again." LOL. In the second half, after they got together, it was all about how she was going to hide that from their friends -- the hijinks of which were, admittedly, pretty funny. Anyway, I'm not making digs at the drama, really. It was cute and entertaining. I definitely liked it. I just didn't understand either my mother's obsession with it to the point that I had to listen to it on loop the last time I was visiting my parents. By the 6th time I begged her to find something new to watch, and that's the only reason I've spent this much effort "analyzing" Professional Single. :P
  5. Same. I found Professional Single charming with the main couple incredibly sweet/entertaining, but I also found it thin on actual plot and Forever Love, by comparison, has way more substance. You go, girl!!! This drama deserves it!
  6. I think it's probably this. They are both in the middle of filming new dramas (with other things going on/end of the year events coming up) and over the summer, they did come together already on Happy Camp and Day Day Up. While technically she was promoting her reality show on the latter and the both of them were participating in an agency battle for the former, Legend of Fei definitely got mentioned on both shows with their actions scrutinized. Even though ZLY's already married, so no one's thinking along romantic lines, I think we'd all like to imagine they at least got along and had fun while filming. That is definitely coming through with the BTS clips that have been released alongside the drama. Some of them have been really cute! Like WYB 'punching' ZLY out of the blue and her 'punching' him back, or WYB doing his magic tricks for everyone around them to watch. It's cute!
  7. I knoooooooooooooooooooooooow! The feeeels! Haha. I'd be more surprised if you told me you didn't know. As for me, alas, I'm still working...
  8. Haha, yes, I strongly hinted to @Lynneand @NiteWalkeralready but no bites so far. Harumph! And where is @Phikyl? She should watch it, too! Btw, new episodes today, @Mouse!!! Woohoo!
  9. Yep! I've watched/skimmed (aka skipped all the evil people scenes) the raws up to Ep 12. I really need subs to properly understand this drama, though, so I'll go back and rewatch these episodes properly with subs. Busy with work right now so saving them up to start when I'm on Christmas break -- soon! :)
  10. @NiteWalker Um, you know I’m already watching. 😂 As if I’d leave my Yibo hanging!
  11. Woohoo! Christmas did come early, after all! LOL. This is the happiest of news and I looooove the new posters.
  12. No, the novel has not been fully translated. Only a few chapters are available.
  13. Something to look forward to in only a few days! The first OST song and by none other than Wang Yibo! ❤️ https://mobile.twitter.com/uniq5s/status/1335073485991776257
  14. A new "making of" video. (For some reason video won't embed, sorry!) https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=3668591123179756
  15. Haha, yes, you should read the book! Both to better understand the drama and because it's good. I don't think it's that unusual for them to start with the modern part of the story because, really, that is the bulk of the setting for the novel. It takes place in the present and the FL is the only one who has memories of their prior lives (their first lifetime together). What you "see" of the past is mostly through her memories, which are used to explain why she is so certain that she is destined to be with the ML despite hardly knowing each other (they meet at an airport where she recognizes him and then abruptly asks for his contact information, which starts an email dialogue that is mostly one sided); his singular personality (he's a researcher who's often lost in his own cloud of thoughts, oblivious to those around them); and his mediocre looks (she's a paragon of beauty and so it catches people by surprise that she'd be attracted to the opposite). It's only when the ML has a need for a partner that he takes the initiative to reach out to the FL, and because she trusts him implicitly and feels indebted to him (because of what happened in their past life), she goes along with his proposal. The stories of their past, as shared from her memories, are peppered throughout the narrative of the present and provide hints of what might have happened. And then somewhere in the middle, the narrative takes a step back to do a little "side story" thing where the story takes place entirely in the past and it is explained why the FL feels so apologetic towards the ML. Towards the end of the novel there is another narrative dedicated solely to the past and it explains the relationship between the main characters and some of the side characters in the present. This is why I find it rather interesting how they are going to be able to create an entire drama out of the past, and why I think they're going to have to flesh out the story in order to give us an entirely separate drama, rather than having one drama that goes back and forth between past and present.
  16. The new rumored air date is December 18 with the drama's full OST album to drop a week later. What an early Christmas present that would be, if it turns out to be true!
  17. I was surprised to see the modern part had already wrapped filming! Didn't they start only mid-Sept or so? That's about 2.5 months. Maybe that was enough for them... as for the past version, I feel like they may need to flesh things out in order to fill the number of episodes planned. That doesn't mean they need to make changes (to the essential framework), but I can see them rounding out the story little bit more for us.
  18. LOL, Yibo's too distracting for everybody! https://38jiejie.com/2020/11/01/how-wang-yibo-versace-ing-on-the-floor-disrupted-e-commerce-influencers-selling-their-products-during-livestream/

  21. Industry event yesterday so a new poster and trailer were dropped. Looks so good! :D https://www.facebook.com/crotonmedia.official/photos/a.536913036503986/1547884662073480/?type=3
  22. I guess it’s a good thing I’m on leave from work for the rest of the week... although I was supposed to also clean the house... 😂
  23. Ahhhh, I've been thinking about watching this drama and now I see so many familiar names in this forum, it is a sign! Should I finish Maiden Holmes first, though, or just dig right in?
  24. It was one of the epilogue stories. He’d been working on a project a few hours away and stopped by on his way back. There was some concern because her costar/nemesis boyfriend’s boyfriend had visited previously and treated all the staff to delicious foods, something Yu Tu wouldn’t be able to afford. But in the end his improvements to the on-site wifi proved more popular and was better received by all. Haha. Yu Tu for the win! I’m glad they’re including this part of the story because it was a fun one, and so very them! ❤️
