  1. I saw the spoilers re: Man Man and I have to admit, I couldn’t watch today’s episodes. Too much angst! Will wait for more episodes to watch together.
  2. Yes, Youku does offer VIP express options but I don’t know that they would with this one given that their schedule already has them releasing two eps every day (except Fri/Sat when they release one). It was a very generous airing schedule on their part and so generous, I don’t think there’d be any money to be made by offering a VIP express option when people don’t have to wait long for new episodes anyway. And certainly, at this stage of this week, I’d be surprised if they announced one even tomorrow. Drama is scheduled to be done by Saturday already.
  3. I swear, this drama is like the gift that keeps on giving - I'll say, "I hope to see X," and then within the next two episodes, the drama delivers! Heheh. Soooo glad Ye Tan and her father had this moment. To share and to learn truths, and to heal and become whole. It was really heartwarming. Eyes got misty-eyed! The drama is always better when it's an adventure full of friends and I just love seeing everyone hanging out and getting along or finding a way to get along. So many funny moments in today's two episodes... from Chaofeng's mother outing him on his feet hygiene, to Ziwu outing Di Lanjue on how he managed to find the others. In between there was Shaodian Youqin replacing the Chancellor's Star of Fate with the Jinx Star. I'm trying really hard not to think about how this break of happiness is only leading up to a final climax for the show. Just let me enjoy them as they are!!
  4. I don't know how to upload photos, so I'll link to the Facebook post that I saw and hopefully you will be able to see it as well. Apparently there's a deleted scene where Shaodian Youqin has Ye Tan's undergarment the next morning! https://www.facebook.com/XingYueDramas/posts/pfbid02Z81xXnCD2uwkZEpTK2Ei5Jzjd67brZEySGyxq7tR588b33NV4vfzXnMjr1Ehb3UXl
  5. I forgot to mention earlier. I like Qing Heng. I do. But there are times when his naivete is a little... gah. All I can say is thank goodness he consulted the Jade Deity first before going to his father with information about Hu Sui because... no, Qing Heng. Your father would never help her out! In fact, your father would probably do everything he could to bury the truth. I just hope the latest episode between his father and his older brother helps Qing Heng to be more wary of his father. Also, in other news, I just read on MDL that the author of this novel recently released an epilogue giving Ye Tan and Shaodian Youqin a happy ending. Of course, this would be after the drama script was completed since this is a recent release, but maybe that means the epilogue is being released to match the drama which had better give us a happy ending for our leads, or else! Crossing all my fingers this will become true!!!
  6. It’s at times like these I’m grateful for my Youku subscription, hahaha!
  7. Who's incredibly disgusted by the Heavenly Emperor right now? Raise your hand!!! Has there ever been a person so short-sighted? If he was less tyrannical, less judgmental, and more accepting, he'd have both a son and an heir right now. Instead, he has neither. What an awesome ruler - clap, clap, clap. (That's sarcasm, in case you couldn't read through the tone.) So the Empyrean consort is Ye Tan... as was pointed out, she was recognized by the Love Bridge. Their own bridge, their own rules,Bi they should know how this works. If she was recognized by the bridge then all that means is Ye Tan was always the fated one, and not the one they'd always planned for (Qing Kui). Sigh... Poor Shaodian Youqin, having to suffer all those thunderbolts. But how suave he looked doing so! And I love how he declared his love for Ye Tan so bravely in front of everyone. Think Bi Qiong will finally give up now? A pickle in the heavens, a pickle in the void realm . . . can't wait to see how Qing Kui and Chaofeng get out of that mess. I especially can't wait to see the sisters back by their father's side with their men next to each other. That actually looks fun and I'm looking forward to some lighthearted moments after today's Stress Fest. Honestly, the crappy dads in the Heavenly and Void worlds are making the Mortal Emperor look not so bad these days. From the little glimpses we get, it actually seems like Ye Tan's father does have affection for her. It's her "fate" and the people around him that have made him hold back. I'm really hoping by the end of this drama, he'll cast all those things aside and give in to his real feelings so that Ye Tan and her father can have at true father-daughter relationship. I think both need it!
  8. Yep! Who really is to blame for everything? That’s quite the question! I think so, too. Preparing my heart in advance!
  9. An interesting development with our Cilantro Fairy in today's episode. I'm curious to know who was behind the framing of her people -- the Immortals?! I was surprised, but pleased, at how quickly Chaofeng and Qing Kui's prison stint was resolved. The speech Chaofeng's mother gave really cleared up a lot of things and provided context for why Daddy Void was so determined to make his sons fight for the crown prince position. I'm glad she was able to make him see reason in the end, though, and help him find an alternative path for Void Realm's future. If only Void Empress didn't still exist to mess everything up... as we know she will. And now in tomorrow's episodes, we have more antics from that Bi Qiong fairy to look forward to... ugh. Why does she still look so hopeful whenever Shaodian Youqin shows up?! Surely she should've figured out by now that she has no hope or a prayer? Ugh.
  10. i was watching an interview yesterday with the actress/actor playing Qing Kui and Chaofeng. When asked if they could share a spoiler for the second half of the drama, they immediately protested and said they could not. When pressed, Chaofeng replied (something along the lines of) - we don't need to provide any spoilers, our viewers have watched a lot of dramas and know better than us! When you have sweetness, what must follow is sadness. He's not wrong... so yeah, here we go!!! Let the rollercoaster begin.
  11. I have such mad respect for Qing Kui. She was introduced to us as the "weakest" - the one who was raised as a hothouse flower, the one who didn't have any physical strength or magical powers, the one who just knew how to sit pretty, brew a proper pot of tea, and enjoy the fine arts. But man, she may be the strongest in body, mind, and spirit! I love her resoluteness, the way she sees things so clearly, and those incredible orator skills. Qing Kui was born to be a lawyer! I clapped at her speech, how she put Daddy Void in his rightful place, and then clasped my hands over my heart when she told Chaofeng how she was going to marry him in that dungeon no matter what. Okay, I didn't really do all those things with my hands, but I was feeling it. Haha! I'm just so proud of Qing Kui. And Chaofeng? The way all his men knelt before him in the dungeon, that just goes to show you. He's more than worthy to be the next leader of the Void Realm. None of his other brothers would be able to command that amount of loyalty from their men. Chaofeng is a natural born leader. As for Shaodian Youqin and Ye Tan? Today's ep was full of adorableness for them. The whole mahjong thing was hilarious - I especially loved how Ye Tan asked whether he remembered how to play and the looks they gave each other as they agreed to collude against the masters. But then Ye Tan "winning" the right to keep all the earnings? Awww... you could see Shaodian Youqin's heart breaking at the way she was unknowingly sharing how she was raised. I love how Ye Tan's ready to put it behind her, to see the positive in things, despite the way she was treated as a child -- that, too, is a different kind of strength. In short, our mortal sisters really rocked it in today's episode!
  12. Hahahahaha, love how you put that! It's so true. His dad seems to fear a version of him with emotions. Maybe Dad knows that's where the real power is -- after all, in one of the earlier eps, when Shaodian Youqin spent all that time trying to pull off that ultimate power, it was only after Ye Tan told him to let go and feel, or something like that, that it all came together. I've noticed that ever since then, Dad's been wary of him. Whereas everyone was excited that he'd cultivated and learned the ultimate power thingy (whatever it's called; I can't remember) - after all, it is the thing that restored Guixi - Dad gave him the side-eyed look. I think he's afraid of his son overtaking him and that's just pathetic. He should be glad to know that he's got a worthy successor. After all, Shaodian Youqin isn't the type either to kill his dad to take over. He'd wait his turn. Omg... I both love it, but also, get nervous for them. I'm so afraid Dad will find out their real feelings because their love for each other just radiates from them. But yeah, it's been a hoot watching how the the three shards are still part of Shaodian Youqin. I mean, who didn't laugh when he asked his right-hand man if he shouldn't dye his hair another color?! Hahaha. I'm worried for Chaofeng and Qing Kui in tomorrow's ep...
  13. Ahhhhhhh Episode 26 was everything we hoped for.
  14. Haha, Chaofeng said the same thing and it was pretty great when he did.
  15. Welcome back! I'm sorry to hear you've been ill. Hopefully a good run of Starry Love episodes will have you feeling better in no time. Today's eps... Chaofeng, Chaofeng.... the truth providing him with the perfect Noble Idiocy excuse... sigh.
  16. I realize I'm stating the obvious when I saw this, but it needs to be said anyway. The Void Empress is the worst. And it is pathetic how her son, the Second Prince, can't do anything without her. But that also only serves to highlight just how evil a person she is. My hope is that Chaofeng will need the aid of the others, including the Heavenly Realm, to take down the Empress and her son, and that by doing so, that will help to restore order among the realms. After all it seems clear Chaofeng doesn't really have a beef with the other realms other than the fact that his father has made it a condition to being the next crown prince. But if we can eliminate the competition through other means... and the Void Princess and the Second Prince are not worth keeping around! They're a danger and menace to all.
  17. That's a good question. I hope so because then he'll also know the lengths Ye Tan went to bring him back to life. And also because this is their courtship process, basically. It allows Ye Tan to see the different sides of Shaodian Youqin. I completely understand why Chaofeng is pursuing the crown prince position. But I hate how that process brings him into an inevitable battle with the Heavenly Realm. It makes me soooo nervous, as it's akin to a civil war at that point, pitting the sisters and their loved ones against each other. That's why I really appreciate Qing Kui and all that she's doing to prevent Chaofeng from making what she knows will only be a ruinous mistake (not just for him, but for all the people in the four realms). I hope Chaofeng will see soon the wisdom of Qing Kui's words -- perhaps the arrival of his second brother and his stepmother will aid in that process. I have to say I am also absolutely loving how the switch of brides has turned out to be exactly what the men and their respective realms needed. It's no wonder the heavenly bridge recognized Ye Tan as Shaodian Youqin's fated bride. That only means the same is true of Qing Kui and Chaofeng.
  18. Omg it would be a hoot. I can already imagine the chaos that would follow, Ye Tan freaking out, and Man Man's reaction of, "Isn't this what you wanted? You're getting what you wanted." Hahaha. I'm glad this drama is devoid of love triangles too. I feel exactly as you do about them, @Tofu! And with all the lovey dovey images they keep showing us in the credits, etc., this drama had better give us a happy ending for Ye Tan and Shaodian Youqin!!!
  19. Hope this melon is true! I'll be hunting for something new to watch by then and this would be the perfect fit.
  20. You are such a trooper!!!! I'm sending you a Lamu-style firework heart, lol! Instead of trying to watch Ashes of Love myself, I asked a friend about the ending. They said it's happy-ish in that the FL has to wait 500 years to be reborn to pick between two brothers. They didn't tell me which brother the FL picked, but I'm assuming it was the "correct" one since she said it was happy-ish. I suppose if one were shipping the other couple, that would not be happy! Sounds like quiiiite the love triangle. So far I'm grateful we seem to be exempt from that in Starry Love -- unless the shards all start to fight each other for the FL? Ha. That would probably be fun to watch, actually, as I bet the drama would make it amusing, and they all combine to form our ML anyway.
  21. The contrast between Wudai and Chao Feng’s reaction was priceless. Hahaha. Poor Wudai, indeed. Although I caught a vibe from the Snake Lady, whatever her name was, so now I’m rooting for Wudai to end up with her.
  22. Skate in Love is a pretty light and easygoing watch. The book is waaaaaay better, so much funnier too. So, I think the trick to enjoying the drama is to not read the book first. Haha. Unfortunately, my experience was in the reverse order so the drama was just OK for me and I don't actively recommend it to people, but I know it has its fans, especially for those who like their light romances. As for Ashes in Love, I didn't watch it either but I know it has its following so it must have been good? LOL. As I mentioned the other day I'm not really a xianxia person... brain tends to turn off whenever I try to watch one... but, Starry Love has proven the exception to that! Omg. When I saw how the Fire Diety was so misunderstood by the village people it just about broke my heart. It only proves though how Ye Tan really is his destiny because who else but her can understand exactly how she feels? I love when she tells her friend - I was also once assumed to be the harbinger of all evil things. Who would listen to an explanation? [As an aside, I thought it was interesting how after her father visited her sister's quarters, it seemed like he was interested in visiting hers too before the servant pulled him back. Maybe there will be hope for Ye Tan and her father by the end and amends will be made. For her sake, I hope so.] Oh, I forgot to comment on this earlier! Omg... hahaha... those two crack me up. Every time I think about Di Lanjue wrapped in a pink diaper... I really can't wait for his true identity to be revealed to Zi Wu. I chuckle every time she says there's something familiar about his eyes and scent and wrinkles her nose around him. As an aside, I think it is absolutely adorable how this actress played CXX's younger sister in Fall in Love and now they're siblings again here. So fun!!
