  1. I think the story could've ended with maybe 8 episodes, not 12, as the plot got draggy at the middle. It got better when Myung Joon, Ro Hee and Sang Yoon finally meet each other. I've always enjoyed the relationship between Myung Joon and Ro Hee though. Emotions got real at the end of episode 11 and the two got me teary. I'm looking forward to the finale.

  2. @SilverMoonTea I've progressed to the end of ep 3. I love Ye Bun's tenacity in wanting to save the influencer girl from her old schoolmate no matter what, which she did with the help of Jang Yeol. I was happy that he ultimately believed her and went to her aid just in the nick of time. Looks like she was right that she knew he would trust her, which is why she has only told him about her psychic abilities. Their chemistry is good. Started off bickering, but I think I see a friendship starting to form now.

I think in this year, this drama is the most solid one on terms of acting, directing, pace and storywise. I also like Revenant, but this one have more balanced of slight romance, comedy, family, friendship and investigation. Not to say the comedy is really comedying, there is a lot of parts that make me non stop giggling 😂

Revenant is probably the best drama so far this year for me. I'll take your word that Behind Your Touch is a solid one too. I do find the tone to be refreshing. I can see the family, friendship and investigation. I'll look out for the slight romance. LOL.

After watching this, I started and completed The Lies Within and did a rewatching of BTIMFL, and I'm still completely smitten all over again with his character there, a pure tsundere guy who lives with his cat lols. So that's how powerful Minki's charm is. I think his laser & soulful eyes can deliver many emotions at once.

And actually I also started BYT because of HJM, I always like her in dramas and in real life. She's seems an all round pretty person inside and outside and seems very humble too. MK, JM and Suho seems become very close too in real life.

LMK and HJM are both cuties. Story is good so far, but I think I'm mostly enjoying it because of these two. They're very expressive with their facial-acting and bring their characters to life. I can't tell how Suho's character will come to play in this mix so I'll see...LOL. That's neat that they became close in real life.

  3. @SilverMoonTea I've been meaning to tell you that I started this, but I'm only on episode 2. I tuned into it blind without reading much about it, but I get the meaning of the title now. LOL. Ye Bun and Jang Yeol start off on the wrong foot, but given her powers, I assume she will assist him in solving mysteries. Can't wait to get more into these parts.

It's nice seeing Lee Min Ki again. I've seen him as a detective in The Lies Within, but his expressions and mannerisms remind me of him in Because This Is My First Life and My Liberation Notes. He seems like quirky detective in this one which there must be backstory from Seoul. Just hoping he stops flipping over Ye Bun so angrily. Yikes. LOL. I like their dynamics though so I will definitely finish this. Love Han Ji Min.

Anyone watch this week’s yet ? I will catch up tomorrow. Had a busy week ,

Yes, me...it's the only show I have time for at the moment. I was bummed only 1 episode aired this past Thursday. Wednesday was taken over by a soccer match in S. Korea. I watched it that evening so don’t remember all the details, but it was a good one. Ro Hee and Myung Joon gained a few people by their side. I really liked the person who turned out to be the truck driver at the end. I think you might too. 😉 The next episode looks good too. It seems like Ro Hee will gain some important memories.

I have doubts about his story. He may have killed the father, but the reason is not likely for the gold bars. He does not seem the greedy sort. There was mention that he had "returned" to doing installation work for the security company - think he and the ex-wife are working on a plan together. The curious thing is what are their intentions - do they just want to stop the experiments?

I agree he's not telling the whole truth and is likely taking the fall for Hye Eun. He must carry guilt from injuring her as a child and causing her to contract HIV. She wasn't his intended target and this incident made her lose her adoptive family and return back to the orphanage.

Detective Park found a framed photo of him and a teenage girl in his house. Is she Hye Eun? Her neck is covered up like it always is as an adult. If so, have they been on decent terms and keeping in touch all along?

    Spoiler

    spacer.png

Not sure what their intentions could be. Money or revenge seems to simple, but the others are looking for the secret genuis drug formula written by Ro Hee's grandfather/father. Park Cheol Won told Detective Park during the interrogation that he found strange documents in Dr. Choi's safe. Those documents might be the research and know-how for the drug. What's strange is if he and Hye Eun wanted it (to profit or destroy), he would've taken them. Hmmm...

    - - - - - -

Oddly, I'm enjoying Yoon Kye Sang's performance the most, but I like all the characters. Well, except the new guy, Jaden. His smug face is so annoying. I agree Park Sang Yun is sound detective which is why his superior believes in him and doesn't take the case away. It would be nice if we got some kind of backstory of him though - like why he always has a cigarette but refrains from smoking it.

There was one scene where they mentioned that RoHee's father had a mistress. But they don't have a video of her...could be her? There's possibility she's working with Park Cheol Won. He does have the motive.

Oh yes, since the ex-wife knows a lot about Ro Hee and the family, she could be the mysterious mistress. (Ro Hee has good instincts and I noticed she doesn't trust the ex-wife.) It's highly possible she and PCW could be working together.

Ro Hee had some memory flashes of seeing a police car and maybe a police officer during the night of the murders. So, there's a possibility of this link as well.

Also, the show brings up Ro Hee's necklace a few times. I wonder if this will be some kind of clue.

It isn't just me then. LOL. He was so clean-cut and intelligent in Chocolate so seeing him in character here was a bit trippy for my eyes and mind at first, but I eventually got used it too. He's doing a great job, but I can't help laugh at him sometimes. LOL. His character has a kind heart though.

I love the scenes where she was talking  like a mini adult - holding her own. Negotiating with his wife, and telling him that she should do the thinking from now. LOL. In my mind, I am like what an impertinent brat but then again she's very sharp. If not for her they would have been caught many times over. I like that there's a change in their relationship dynamics. She's asked him for help , so she's no longer a kidnap victim. The bond they are forming is sweet.

Yes, she is a mini adult and has the real adults wrapped around her finger. LOL. I do think she is the brain of the duo and he has become more like her protector. However, while on the run, I do think she was looking out for him as well. She knows he wants to be around for his daughter's upcoming surgery so she didn't want him to get caught by the police. She told him he must holdoff getting arrested until after the surgery. It shows she cares about him too. Their bond is sweet.

So as I had guessed, RoHee was part of her father's experiment and it looks like in the preview she and Kim Myung Jun gets caught by that investor lady. RoHee is their asset , so they cannot afford to lose her. But I don't know if the investor lady is the one who killed the parents though.

Based on this, I am leaning toward Ro Hee's intelligence is the result of the experiment (versus the experiment is studying her natural intelligence). I am not sure if the investor lady killed her parents either, but I have her on my suspects list. She was looking at a framed family photo on her office desk. I couldn't tell who they are though. Since it was shown, I'm guessing it has a significance.

Other suspects on my list include:

    • Myung Joon's ex-wife - She knows way too much about Ro Hee and her family. I find it strange that she has a strong interest in Ro Hee but not her daughter who is sick. There's something off about that.
    • Park Cheol Won (the security company employee) - It was revealed that he is the man who attacked the doctor and young girl 30 years at the opening of the story. The doctor would be Ro Hee's paternal grandfather. One of the detectives speculates Park may have sought revenge on Ro Hee's father for the loss of his wife and unborn child.

The other thing I am very happy to see is that Park Sung Hoon has pretty great screen time. His role here feels like an extension of his role in Not Others! I like that he's such a sharp detective himself and he was quick to see that this wasn't a simple case of abduction. But it does look like his hands are gonna be tied from investigating further.

I thought the same. It does feel like he crossed over from Not Others to here. I hope the case doesn't get taken away from him. His observations are spot on so far. I want to see him interact with Ro Hee and Myung Joon.

  8. @abs-oluteM I'm glad you were able to start this. You too @Chocolate. I'm curious to know what you think as you continue to watch more.

I've watched through episode 4. I agree with @Alice Wonderland, more clues are revealed and there are quite a number of suspicious characters which keeps the mystery interesting. So far, I don't find it easy to narrow down the suspects, but I do think there is more than one suspect and more than one motive. Based on Detective Park's observation of the crime scene, Ro Hee's parents' murders look like two separate crimes. He may be right.

    23 hours ago, Chocolate said:

My first thought was Ro Hee paid the hospital bill. But that's purely a guess 😂 because:

    - she may have the funds given her parent's were rich, and she's smart enough to have planned to at least have access to funds (if not escape);

    - has a close enough relationship with Myung Joon to want to help and could have found out about his background while she was at his house.

    🧂🧂🧂

This is an interesting theory. We shall see because I'm at a loss on who else would've paid it and why.

    18 hours ago, abs-oluteM said:

The girl is a smart cookie & though spoilt , she’s very sharp . And seeing how she realised the cops would be on their tail at the hospital & got them to run , she’s not your average 9 or 10 year old considering what she chose to read or the number of languages she spoke .

Ro Hee is indeed an intelligent kid. Gutsy too. I love her determination in wanting to find the culprit herself. It seems she saw him/her at the crime scene, but unfortunately, she lost her memories. In time, I wouldn't be surprised if she's the one who eventually solves the crime. It would be neat if we get to see her work with Detective Park and his team on the investigation.

    --------

So far, my favorite part of the story is Ro Hee and Myung Joon's bond. I find them heartwarming and funny at the same time. He was supposed to kidnap her, but it seems she has kidnapped him. LOL. I get the feeling she longs for a real father who cares for her so I'm curious to know what will become of their relationship in the end.

The last time I saw Yoon Kye Sang, it was in Chocolate. He's so different here. LOL. Yu Na, actress playing Ro Hee, is so talented. Quite impressive at such a young age.

  9. @Alice Wonderland I'm glad you started watching this. I'm left with the same questions as you too.

MJ is a clumsy kidnapper because he does not have the heart of one. He's a good hearted father in a tough situation because of his sick daughter. I like the bond between him and RH too. In the preview, the detective team notices they move more like a team (versus a kidnapper and his victim) so should be interesting to see them continue to bond together. She is a genius kid and appears to be the brain of the two. LOL.

I also think RH was likely a test subject for her dad's research, but was that the extent of the "abuse"? Were the parents murdered for the research? The detective team's impression of murder scene was that the murders could be separate from the other. I thought that was an interesting observation. We don't know how RH escaped that night yet, but although MJ was there to kidnap her, he probably saved her instead.

Yes, I agree. Many people already appear sus. For example, MJ's ex-wife knows way too much about RH and her family. The head of the security company for RH's family residence seems off too. Why would you turn off the CCTV cameras?

And yes, who paid the hospital bill??

  11. @Alice Wonderland The first 2 episodes are out. I am watching it on Amazon Prime (U.S.) under the title The Kidnapping Day, but I am not sure about its availability in other regions.

    --------

I watched the first 2 episodes in one sitting…it is pretty good. Right off the bat, the male lead and little girl’s accidental relationship is funny and endearing at the same time. They are complete strangers, yet they have an immediate bond that would be difficult to form under false pretenses. She trusts him even when she starts to figure out the lies. Given that the male lead has his own daughter and what happened to the little girl’s real parents, it will be interesting to see how their pseudo father/daughter relationship will develop over the course of the mystery and conclude in the end. I have my hopes, but we shall see…

@abs-oluteM Park Sung Hoon doesn’t appear in the story until episode 2, but I have to say Yoon Kye Sang and the child actress, Yu Na, steal the show so far. However, I think once PSH's detective character figures out the mystery doesn’t match up with the male lead, his role and how he’ll approach the investigation should be good to see.

  12. @abs-oluteM I finished as well. You summarized everything great about the show perfectly. This one definitely sets the bar high. It's one of the best rom-coms I've seen and will go down as a classic for me.

I agree the writing/dialogue was brilliant throughout. Even at the very end, Tang Ying's final narrative managed to inspire me, particularly when she said...

"Happiness, success and joy can't possibly be the result designed by the scriptwriter of life. It can only be your own tangible experience. I've met many people in this city and they eventually taught me that the world is big, too big to imagine, so walk your path, not according to the written script. Throw away the script and struggle to find your own life. It's okay to fail. It's okay to take the wrong road. Live freely. Isn't that the most stylish thing?"

Overall, it's a rom-com, but I thought also a slice of life. Personally, I found some of characters' struggles relatable and their journey in finding their resolutions in love, career and life to be inspiring in many ways. It was great to see the couple and other characters eventually find their place in life.

@Chocolate Tang Ying said something in the last episode to Yu Chuanchuan that made me think of what you said here. As opposed to YCC who has many male friends, Tang Ying only has one, Ziquan. Unfortunately, he pretended to be her friend and tricked her into becoming his girlfriend. It was hilarious and so true to what you said that a man and woman can never be just friends. LOL.

I am up to here too. I ended up liking the episode. I was kind of skeptical when they brought in her old crush and he had that investment banker girl chase him shamelessly. In my mind I thought they were going to use silly misunderstandings to create unnecessary conflict. But it turned out really well because they talked it out towards the end of the episode instead of letting things fester. Like @Chocolate said before, the communication here between the leads is great. They put to rest his so called "player" reputation - no longer a pond owner but a tank owner. (This writer has a way with words)   And she too got some closure with regards to her old time crush.

The sister's BF was terribly creepy ...but I am so not surprised. He was controlling and clingy. He had all the specifications she desired of a significant other, but that was all superficial. She didn't actually know who he really was before moving in with him. Fortunately for her , it didn't end badly - he could have been some crazed stalker. Now it seems she has a new interest in her landlord. This girl moves fast!

I am glad that TY's boss in back. You know , in corporate life , one of the greatest blessings is to have mentor type bosses who guide you without micromanaging and who lets you grow. Her immediate supervisor is just lovely. I find her romance with that law professor very cute too.

I haven't had time to start episode 12 yet so I think we're at the same spot. I nearly gasped when the old crush showed up. Luckily, our girl already made her choice and that's that. And, our boy didn't flinch a bit when he was introduced to her old crush. He even invited the old crush up to their place. LOL. Yes, the investment banker girl is shameless. He basically needed to peel her off of him. I had second-hand embarrassment for her. But, it was good that Tang Ying was able to close a chapter of her life concerning the old crush and so did Ziquan with his "player" past. I agree the writer is quite witty with the analogies. I think the tank owner and his only fish are quite happy with the downsize. LOL.

I still get shivers thinking about the sister's ex-boyfriend, but I'm just glad he didn't resort to hurting her or himself. Now let's see what will happen between her and the new guy. LOL.

I like Tang Ying's boss too. I wasn't sure at first when she encouraged Tang Ying to consider Mr. Ma, but she's proved to be caring and supportive. I am enjoying her romance with the law professor too.

Like this drinking scene, on first watch, it didn't seem special.

    But the banter!

    About relationships:

He says sometimes, men would rather spend time with men.

She says sometimes, the high brought by men cannot compare with a good idol drama or a bag!

Then he acknowledges some men can be pathetic.

She reciprocates and says that some women are too.

The back and forth is so good. Not many people can do that.

It's no wonder that he likes her more each time they are together.

It was this drinking scene over hot pot that made me root for the couple. During this banter, it was clear their chemistry was beyond physically attraction. The mental chemistry was fire too. I also liked the part where they shared the same stance about retaining their independence and not changing themselves or the other person. It showed substance to have a lasting relationship.

    10 hours ago, Chocolate said:

Frankly for a man who has dated many women, he would be the last to do anything to lead them on. So to give her the ring, subconsciously, he was already there.

This is why I don't consider Ziquan a player. He admitted he likes women, but once he knows they don't have the qualities of being a potential partner, that's it. I think he found his fish for his tank when he gave her the ring and wasn't planning to let her go anywhere. LOL.

Thanks for sharing the Cartier Trinity Ring! Love the meaning behind each band and how they're intertwined as one.

But you are right @peperomia eps 8 and 9 were so awesome. From that first kiss that brought in a lot of confusion to both parties, to her acting out in the CCTV in front of his door  :laugh:and right up to how the friendship rings have now become actual couple rings. It was like a roller coaster ...the push pull was done so well. The tension & chemistry between the leads are very good.

Yes! What you said is exactly why I liked these episodes. I thought their conversation over the phone when they missed each other at their doorsteps and when they talked it out at her place was nicely done. There were some missteps by both parties in the pushing and pulling tango, but the stumbles led them to convey what they were frustrated with and what they wanted from each other. If they didn't mean so much to each other, they wouldn't be so bothered right? LOL.

I liked that Ziquan acknowledged some of his faults. He was afraid of not knowing how to make a committed relationship work so he was riding the wave and thought he had time, but when push came to shove, he wasn't going to let taking things coolly make him lose her. I had thought only Tang Ying was afraid, but he was too. Anyway, I loved the whole dialogue and the transition of friendship to couples rings when they got together as well.

My only small gripe was that TY was being a bit unfair to him towards the end when she "pushed" him to that influencer Michelle. TY was jealous and he was clearly giving TY all the signals to "save him" but she did the opposite. Then breaks down at home in tears. I'm like what is wrong with this girl. Thankfully , he came to look for her and that sealed the deal.

I was a bit frustrated here too. But at least while she was at her wits end, her burst of emotions let him know her limits and he acted upon them. To be honest, I was getting to the point where they just needed to get together and kiss for real. LOL.

    --------

I've finished episode 11 and @Chocolate is right. There's not much tension anymore, but they're still cute and hilarious together. Love their banter and how it's incorporated to find their footing in the early phases of their relationship.

  16. I'm home today so I was able to watch episodes 8 and 9. They might be my favorite episodes so far. The dialogue between the 2 leads were so good. If it weren't for their ability to communicate so well, I'm not sure if they would've been able to pull through some of the ambiguity and misunderstandings. @abs-oluteM I think you'll like these episodes.

Looks like Tang Ying did consider Mr. Ma as an interest momentarily, but I don't think she was all that serious about it. Plus, this was when Ziquan was away in the "wilderness". When Tang Ying asked her boss to help get her out of the sticky situation, her boss was willing to play the part. I was getting worried about blurring business with personal so it was a relief to see her boss do that and not force anything on Tang Ying. It was Tan Ying's choice to keep going or end it.

Tan Ying made a reference to Jin Yong's novel/drama, Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre, to Mr. Ma after he referred to her as twisty. "The more beautiful a woman is, the more likely she is to deceive people." She's not wrong. LOL. I liked that Mr. Ma found her more attractive when she was just being herself. Looks like he won't pursue her further though after she confirmed the "couples" ring on her. :smug: I also liked that he appreciated her dedication and hard work.

I am done with eps 7. What a small world that Mr Ma who was snubbed by her sister seems to have some interest in TY. I can't tell if TY is really interested to be Ma's significant other or if the enthusiasm is because of Mr Ma's interest in her and that she'll be his legal rep. But anyway, I think the short separation between the leads is not a bad thing - I think it's given ZQ some clarity about his feelings for TY.  TY has also grown in her career thanks to her new superior who's such a great role model and good boss. I am happy of course that ZQ is back in town after being sent off to the "wilderness" . Now , please go get your girl, Ziquan!

Just finished episode 7 as well. I didn't get the impression Tang Ying is interested in Mr. Ma in a romantic way, but we'll see... So far, her efforts in impressing him seem to be for the project to succeed. I'm not sure how I feel about her going out her way to do so, but if it's for career reasons, I get it. Must be tiring though. I'm glad Ziquan is back in town as well. I like that he won't let himself be defeated and still doing his best while in the "wilderness". It was funny when he interrupted Mr. Ma and Tang Ying to confirm she was not at the event as his girlfriend. LOL. It's time for him to step up his game!

I think one of the themes of this drama is 不要装 - don't pretend. Every character gets their good ending after they decide to let go off their false image/become real.

Totally agree that no man and woman can just be friends. It's definitely an excuse to test the romantic waters.

So far, Ms. Wang and Mei Ling had some interesting changes in life. For the better I would say. I was a bit shocked when Mei Ling took off her wig, but I guess it was symbolic of shedding what's fake and being her true self.

  18. I made it through episode 5 and saw part of episode 6. I loved how Ziquan remembered Tang Ying’s words about where she would like to take him after they finished their project and did find her at the rooftop. However, they hit a bit of snag as she is still guarding herself after a half-hearted confession. Did she take a few steps back because when she offered to cheer him up and go for drinks, he declined (for good reasons)? When she asked him if he ever felt tempted by her, I felt my heart drop when he took a long pause, said “no” and hung up. It was just a bad day for him to begin with so he must’ve been disappointed.

Not necessarily perfect in everything but they don't operate on the level of trickery or deception that others do in the name of survival. We respect them because they try their best without resorting to underhanded methods that some of their rivals do. I find myself liking Ziquan a lot which is why objectively I just don't see why he should be saddled with the "player" tag just because he is active in the dating scene. Despite being somewhat disillusioned with past encounters, the fact that he is still meeting women despite mismatched interactions means that he is genuinely looking for someone with shared values and goals to spend his life with. Is he really worse than any other guy who hangs out at bars picking up women? Because how people are in the workplace will inevitably reveal themselves in a dating relationship.

I'm of the view that Tang Ying often says things she doesn't quite believe herself because she doesn't know what to make of Ziquan. He's charming enough to be attractive and dangerous. But the fact that she's kind of willing to go along with the initial friendship status suggests that she's attracted but wary. She's obviously testing the waters and pushing his buttons to see how much of her pettiness he's willing to tolerate.

I actually feel bad for Ziquan whenever he's called a player. He just wants to find his life partner (the other half) and dating is that process of elimination in finding that right person. I like him a lot too. Most rom coms tend to write the male lead initially with a tsundere-type personality, then gradually reveal his warmer sides. In this show, I like that Ziquan is right off the bat...a nice and good man. If I were Tan Ying, I would fall for him too because he's kind to me, his colleagues, animals and has good work ethics.

Re: Tan Ying, based on her dream at the beginning of episode 4, she seems to have a fear of being humiliated or made a fool by love so she completely guards herself. A misunderstanding will set her back. I hope to see her get over this and take a leap of faith. Even though she fumbled through her "confession", at least Ziquan knows she likes him, but she's scared.

Business stuff aside , I really love their interactions. Because they are starting off on this "friendship" thing, they have built such a good foundation for their relationship. Theirs has such a good chance for going the distance since their communication like @Chocolate said is so good. I feel like their approach to how they view relationships is completely opposite of her sister's and the new BF. The sister's one is truly like an idol drama and I wonder if it will last since it feels kind of superficial. Surely one day the guy will get tired of just giving in to her.

Their budding “friendship” is great. I noticed they are instinctively relying and depending on each other - from something simple as a broken laptop, bad workday to rock-bottom workday. Aside from physical chemistry, their mental connection is off the charts as well. Not sure if they realize it, but they’re a lot alike and want similar things in a relationship.

Re: the sister, have you seen episode 6 yet? The guy hasn't stopped giving yet. LOL. You're right though. Her sister isn't seeking the right building blocks of a sound relationship.

    --------

About the rings, I like how Ziquan won't let her give hers back no matter and slips it back on her finger. That says a lot and she should feel his sincerity.

  19. I finished episode 3. When I had previously stopped halfway, I was just minutes away from them finding out that they would be working together. It was funny how Tang Ying has been wanting to land a high-profile project yet when it was one with Ziquan, she got nervous and hesitated a bit. Hmmm...LOL. But anyway, I really like this shot of them…

I assume the backstory of the lonely whale persevering through the ocean alone and only wanting to be heard by its kind is echoing the same desire of the two leads. It ties back to what Ziquan said about lonely souls wanting to find true love in the vast world. You have to be really lucky to find it. I can’t wait for them to find out they’ve been looking for the same thing.

I liked their conversation about mistaking being moved by someone nice to you as love. Tang Ying told Ziquan she is certain that she wouldn't fall in love with someone merely because he's nice to her because it means she doesn't genuinely like him and he doesn't have the things she wants. If you settle for him, you're going against your true heart. You should be with him because you like him. After hearing this, I felt Ziquan found her even more interesting. Perhaps he learned something that's starting to set her apart from the other women he's known?

@40somethingahjumma I’m here because I’m squealing & laughing at the entire Friendship rings scenario in eps 3 and 4 . He was so serious about it that it would seem like a crime if she doesn’t wear it.  But honestly who gives friendship rings ??? 🤣🤣🤣. I can understand why she won’t wear it ..,loads of questions will be thrown her way .

The rings are very well used all throughout the show. And I emphasize "all throughout".

I think it shows too that Ziquan is already quite serious about Tang Ying but he doesn't want to scare her away until he is sure himself that she's someone that's different to him than all the other women he's known. He wants to keep her close but he's well aware that she's nervous about him. It's his way of delineating how important she is to him because as @Chocolate has noted and he says himself, he is quite willing to have a dating relationship with her anytime she's willing.

Ziquan was supposed to be drunk in this scene, but it was obvious his mind was clear (as he said so himself). So, I really liked how the couples rings happened between the two. I'll call them the couples rings because that's what he called them first when he asked the sales person for them. He wisely changed them to friendship rings because I agree, he knew Tang Ying is cautious and nervous about him. He wanted to convey that he really likes her, but he didn't want to scare her at the same time. While she thought he was acting under the effects of alcohol, it was an opportune moment for him to gift them to her and she would accept. He has quite a high EQ in his ability to sense the state her emotions and I love his patience/time with her. I'm happy to know the rings will be present throughout the show.

  20. I’ve only gotten to half of episode 3 so far. Just wanted to say I like Ziquan’s thoughtfulness of his subordinates. He seems to hustle hard for the company to make the investment deals with the wellbeing of his team in mind. If the company does well, it means no layoffs etc. His team’s jobs are safe and that’s what’s important to him. Going back to the intro where he got a blanket for Tang Ying during their flight, it might’ve seemed like a flirtatious move coming from a stranger, but as we get to know him better, I think he was just being kind. Also, when he bumped into Tang Ying in front of her apartment building, he had walked her sister home from their second “date”. By that point, he knew the sister was not for him, yet he still walked her home. Most guys would simply split at the end of date and head their separate ways. So, he was a gentleman to walk her sister home as an acquaintance/friend. He's a great guy...good-hearted and a straight shooter. I especially like that he's open about himself with Tang Ying. I hope to see her warm up to him.

It's established very early on that he has many female acquaintances and he was even in at least one serious dating relationship in the past but while he likes surrounding himself with female company and even feel a little flattered by all the attention, they're just acquaintances and friends. It's very clear where his preferences lie. But she is a little nervous... who can blame her... about getting involved with a guy who supposedly has a reputation. I tend to think that the reputation is rather overstated.

I saw the intro of episode 3 gave us some insight on his past serious relationship. His ex-girlfriend seemed really insecure and did not trust him. They way she broke-up with him was quite terrible. Still, he doesn't seem jaded by love but acknowledges that it is not easy to find true love. So far, I don't get vibes that he's a player. I mean, he's definitely smooth with his words, but to me, he seems like a nice guy and a gentleman who happens to be in the dating pool.

Anyway I’m so glad they are working on a project together providing plenty of opportunities for them to become closer. These two have insane chemistry @peperomia- every moment they have almost physical contact is sexy with a capital S 🔥🔥.  I’m in no rush for them to be an item simply because I’m enjoying this “ friendship flirting “ 😝😝.

Their chemistry is really off the charts as @40somethingahjumma said and they're not even dating yet. It makes me wonder what it'll be like when they actually get romantic! I haven't gotten to where they will work together on a project, but I'm looking forward to it. I liked their moment together at the end of episode 2 where they watched a movie on her laptop sharing the headset. Their closeness and glances at each other were quite hot. Everything in that scene was pretty simple and ordinary...just them enjoying each other's company. I couldn't stop smiling.

What do you all think of the sister’s approach to relationships?   She likes the person for what they can do for her , not that  she liked them.  Not surprising that the guy came to his senses to stop pursuing her .

The sister seems superficial in terms of what she finds are important qualities in a man. She says she's looking for a long-term relationship that will lead to marriage, but I personally think she judges a man too quickly on what he can offer based on the surface of a first date. I knew the man from the park was actually rich. I can't tell if he took her on a simple date to test her or if he was merely being himself.

  21. I watched the first 2 episodes. They’re so fiery together. So, is their love language sharing perfume? I liked that she took it personally and was upset about him gifting her perfume scent away. However, I sort of saw it as because he kept her scent in mind, he’s keeping her in his mind.

When Tang Ying’s sister told her about “dating” Elvis, her reaction gave away that she likes him. She even deleted him from her phone. She’s tough on him because he seems like a player which from her point of view, I don’t blame her. However, it’s obvious she’s special in his eyes. I like that he admits he likes women and is candid about dating. He may be interested in a woman at first, but if he finds she’s not for him, he’ll back away. So, we should find out how he feels about her if he’s still lingering around.

About the subs, the ones on Viki are decent.

  22. I really enjoyed the final 2 episodes. No one died...phew! I liked the approach of using dialogue from the interrogations and testimonies to reveal everything. I agree some things were convenient, but I thought they did the job of tying things up. My favorite part was the various characters confronting each other. I could feel the characters’ emotions, even regret. Particularly Ki Young, we got to see a vulnerable side. Throughout, I kept wondering if things could’ve turned out differently if he had chosen to share the truth with Young Woon and father instead. They seemed willing to help him had they known the mother's motives. Oh well…

And you realise, Park Ki Young is so crucial - he started dropping all these hints to get the ball rolling, and without him, the police would have no proof to convict anyone. The actor is also doing a brilliant job. Despite being portrayed as a villian, his anguish in the scene with Young Woon in the interrogation room was heartfelt - quite well done I thought. So he is now my favourite character! 😂

He's my favorite character too. I liked how the final episodes gave an emotional layer to him. I got a little teary during his conversation with YW and even with this father. I also liked his understanding with Detective Oh and their same goal to convict Jinjin Medical. I misunderstood in thinking his idea of a perfect crime was to get-off scot free. From the start, he plotted everything knowing he would get caught.

Apart from the fact that siblings will probably be better matches and lower chance of rejection, part of it was likely revenge for her husband's affairs.

I thought it was partly revenge as well which is pretty sad. No matter what, children should not pay for the adults' faults. Even Detective Oh's mother said to YW's mother, she would never hurt others' children.

The wrap-up, some good ones, some eye-brow raising ones, like the two inmates happily devising escape plan... Then the final scene... hm... JS and YJ being together feels a bit forced for me. We're never shown how they moved on from close friends to lovers, even just a budding romantic feeling. Of course I know YJ can never be with YW anymore, but there is no closure too for this.

I liked that the ending left some room for some of the characters to mend their relationships. I think it might've been for some comic relief, but yes, I raised my eyebrow too when PKY and Bae Min Gyu talked about jail-breaking. Like, seriously? I didn't mind too much about the friends to lovers insert between Detective Oh and Young Joo because from the beginning, it was already hinted the possibility would be YJ with Detective Oh or with YW. Of course, the latter was impossible now so they went with the former. LOL.

Overall, this was a great show in terms of writing and pacing of the storyline. It managed capture and convey a lot of emotions too.
